Louis L’Amour; Colonel Potter’s favourite author.

Read a few cowboy books from the 50’s by Louis L’Amour. I enjoyed them so I lent them to my Dad. He laughs and says that L’Amour was MASH’s Colonel Potter’s favourite author. My mom says her dad (my grandfather who passed away in ‘77) used to read L’Amour books all the time.

They read like old Hardy Boys or some of my favourites by Jim Kjelgaard from when I was a kid. Simple, straightforward, honest writing. No phoney intellectualism and over complication resulting from the author’s insecurities and resulting in me having to read the same page over and over again.

Yes.

Same thing; the L'Amour books were passed on to me by my dad and uncle. Those and C.S Forester's Horatio Hornblower books and Patrick O'Brien's Jack Aubrey books.

All good stuff.

What do you mean??? There are plenty of cool guys named Bob.

Just a few.....

Bob Ross - every stoner's favorite artist
Bob Keeshan - Captain Kangeroo
Bob Barker - game show host extraordinaire
Bob Marley - every stoner's favorite reggae singer
Bob Geldof - Pink Floyd (stoner music)
Bob Seager & the Silver Bullet Band ( more stoner music)
Bob Weir - Grateful Dead (yeah, even more stoner music)
Bob Denver - Gilligan's Island (a self proclaimed stoner)
Bob Hope - comedian (perhaps a closet stoner  )

So Bob's are famous, apparently more famous with those who smoke lots and lots of pot.

I challenge you to find as many cool Larry's <_<

Lawrence of Arabia. Adventurer, author, spy, diplomat, archeologist.

Okay, okay - yes; Lawrence was his last name but still... everyone knows him as Lawrence, not Thomas.
