Serenity I sighed softly at her son-in-law's uncertainty, understanding shining in her baby blue eyes. "I know where you are coming from, Helios...I was once in your shoes with Chibi-usa..." it was an endearment she still used, even though her daughter was grown and running the Kingdom. "When she was just a child our kingdom was attacked, as you remember, and in the wake of that attack I was forced to make a choice I probably would not have made, otherwise. Yet, sending my only daughter, my young child, into the past to train with my younger self...it was the best decision I could have made. That does not mean I was not apprehensive. There was so much that could go wrong...and yet...I knew I needed to trust not only my instincts as a Mother and Queen, but also the capabilities of my past self and my daughter.

"Despite all that had happened, all that might happen, there was always one thing I had to hold to." here the Queen smiled, reaching out to take hold of Helios' shoulders so that she might look up into his golden eyes. "Hope. Where there is hope, there is strength and the power to overcome any odds. I think you, of all people, can relate to the power and strength of hope." she winked at the young man, then embraced him with tenderness.

"They are young, indeed...but so was I...so was Chibi-usa. It seems it is the curse and gift of the Senshi to start their journey at a young and tender age, or so it would seem. Be thankful that in this day they have some understanding of what it is to be a Senshi...and they are not alone. They have the knowledge and wisdom of their elders, the trust and endearance of their Guardians, and the companionship of their friends. Somehow, I know they will prevail..."

"As for Endymion." here she sighed, releasing Helios and stepping back. "There is something on his mind, but he has yet to confide in me. I know when he is ready, he will do so...but until then, I must be patient. It is simply his way...." though she had to admit she was worried about what might be on her husband's mind.

"And Trea..."

Serenity did not get the chance to finish her thought, however, for at that precise moment a knock sounded at the door. Out of curiosity more than anything the Queen Mother turned. "Enter, please!" she smiled brightly, her tone cheerful. The guard that opened the door returned the smile with a salute.

"Her majesty Serenity II wishes to inform his Majesty that she will be in the dining hall with their daughter, and would request the pleasure of his company there."

"Ah! It seems the Moon has released her. We should go discover what was revealed in Serenity's prayers..." here the Queen Mother glanced over her shoulder at Helios, clearly intending for him to lead the way.

************************************************************

Kaimana bit her lip at Aria's words, sort of regretting bringing up the topic. After all, by the way Aria spoke, her father was that in blood and title, and nothing more. 'A glorified sperm donor, as Eida would say...' the thought entered her mind unbidden and she instantly pushed it aside, thankful that she was less brash than her sister. Eida would have just said it out loud rather than thinking it.

"I see..." was the only response Kai was able to muster when Aria finished speaking, and when the woman asked why she had brought the question to the light Kai glanced away. The truth was, she wasn't sure she wanted to bring up the topic of Aria's being a Senshi of Uranus and how that was even possible...and yet, if she didn't bring it up, someone would. Likely her Hapa, and SHE would probably be less...tactful about it.

"It's just...you're being a Senshi. From everything I understand, you have to have some sort of relation to the original Senshi to share that power. A blood relation..." aqua eyes had turned back to Aria, but they flickered toward Miyako, as if asking for her to confirm this statement. "I find it strange that you would have that power when...well, you're not a blood relation. At least, as far as I know..." and here she trailed off, because she couldn't help feeling as if she were somehow insulting or accusing Aria of something...though what that something was she wasn't entirely sure of.

Not that Aria was given a chance to reply to this statement, or any perceived insult, because at that moment the door to the dining hall opened, and who should enter but the Queen of their Kingdom, Serenity II. Kai had turned at the sound of the door opening, wondering if someone were looking for any of them, only to have her eyes widen at the sight of Serenity standing there looking at them.

"Hello, ladies. It seems much has happened while I was detained..."

Aria forced a smile. She knew everyone had the best of intentions but the constant reassuring comments really weren't making her feel any better. If anything, as Kaimana had mentioned, it only seemed to make thing worse. "I was ready to take off running the other way-" Aria pointed out. "-I think my heart even stopped beating a couple of times." To be around a couple of princesses, okay, that was doable. But when you have several of the more senior rules of the kingdom standing around; that was just a bit too much.

But at least Miyako and Kaimana seemed intent on letting her say her piece. "Well, for starters-" the redhead began slowly. "-I have more than just a passing theory on why I'm a senshi. I.....pretty much know why I was chosen to be a senshi." Turning her blue eyes to Kaimana, she steeled her nerves. It was a long shot but she at least had to let Kaimana know that there was more of a reason than just being a fellow senshi that would explain so much. "And it has to do with your grandmother."

"We were told in school that Queen Haruka met Queen Michiru as teenagers but not much else is known about her life before that." Aria started. This was common knowledge that every student learned. "I have no doubt that there are various theories about why she never talks about her family or past before meeting Queen Michiru. The correct theory is that they did not support her. When she left her family behind, she also left behind a little sister. That little sister would have a daughter of her own before her death. And that daughter would have a daughter of her own as well."

This wasn't easy to reveal but she had to. Wringing her hands together, Aria looked from Kaimana to Miyako then Cheng'e. "That daughter is me." she finally said in a low tone. "I'm a senshi because I am part of the Uranus royal family, or at least the bloodline. My grandmother would have been your great aunt, my mom your aunt and me, I'm your cousin." She left it at that so it could sink it.

Really she couldn't have guessed what Aria wanted to talk about, but the revelation she disclosed wasn't even close to what Kaimana might have expected. For a moment the teal-haired girl could only blink, trying to wrap her head around the fact that she had another cousin...a cousin that was, until that moment, entirely unknown.

If this had been any other day--any other person--making such a claim, Kai would not have bought it. The truth was, Aria was not the first person to claim such a connection--not just to Uranus, but to any of the Planetary royals--and most of those claims were entirely bogus. However, the one unalienable fact was that, unlike any other person, Aria had the backing of the planet behind her. She was an actual SENSHI.

"It all makes sense..." aqua eyes were wide with shock, her full lips parted in a soft 'o' as she whispered this statement. "You're....my cousin...?" a strange sort of disappointment filled Kaimana's heart, but she pushed these subconcious thoughts aside to focus on the more important one.

"Oh gods...Hapa is NOT going to be happy..." it wasn't hard for Kai to jump to the same conclusions Aria had already made. After all, Kai had NEVER heard of Haruka's family. As far as Kai had known, she could well have been an orphan before meeting Michiru! The blonde had never spoken of her past, and Michiru certaintly hadn't revealed if SHE knew anything. It was clearly a secret the Queen of Uranus had intended to take to her grave. And here they were, about to blow it all out of the water!

"Cousins!" Cheng'e had jumped to her feet at this exclamation, her pink eyes wide with excitement. "Amazing! No wonder you're a Senshi!" the feline's eyes gleamed with sudden understanding, but as she glanced between Aria and Kai, her excitement began to dwindle and she actually THOUGHT about what Kaimana and Aria had said.

"You...really think Haruka will be mad? It's...it's not Aria's fault!"

Kaimana seemed to take the news rather well, all things considered. But it did not take long before she understood the situation as Aria did. Cheng'e, however, did not seem to take that realization too well. "My fault or not-" Aria pointed out. "-some people hold onto things from the past, even the painful or hurtful things."

Stretching out, Aria laid her arm on the table, resting her chin atop her arm. "It also does not help that I am the spitting image of my grandmother. Once Queen Haruka makes the connection, who knows what kind of memories will come racing back." Reaching into her pocket, Aria pulled out a small hologram viewer and flipped it on. "Kaimana-" Aria whispered, holding the device out for the teal haired girl. "-say hello to your great aunt Alena." The woman in the image did, as Aria said, look like an adult version of Aria with a few differences. But that's genetics for you!

"As far as I know, she was the last person to die of illness before Serenity came to power and used her powers to wipe out disease entirely." she further added. "She was terminal and would have died eventually. But life sucks sometimes, she died the day before she would have been cured." Aria's expression warmed significantly. "I have no doubt that my stubbornness came from her. She was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia at sixteen, even more rare considering that most who had it were over thirty, and was given only a few months to live. She held out for five years."

(I uploaded Alena's picture to the photo albums at the bottom)

Miyako listened as Aria laid out her thoughts for why she has the power of the senshi. She could follow the details easily enough but she wasn't sure why Aria felt that her Grandmother should have left the room for it. It sounded like if anyone should know, it should be Queen Serenity I. She had been close with Michiru and Haruka so maybe there was something she had found out. Miyako tilted her head as both Aria and Kaimana fretted over what Haruka's reaction would be. Now that felt like something Queen Serenity I could answer.

Miyako did not know Haruka that well, despite used to being close to her granddaughter. She knew the Queen of Uranus to generally be walled off emotionally and quick tempered but that was more from what she had heard, not really witnessed. But she had been an amazing senshi and had fought hard during her time. Miyako quietly pondered this some more while listening to Aria give details about her grandmother and showing her picture.

"I know that I can't say much on this matter, I don't know Queen Haruka that well. But regardless of her reaction, the truth is that she can't afford to be upset about it. We're in real trouble," The weight of those words suddenly rained down on Miyako. Not that she hadn't taken it seriously before, but saying it out loud made it feel more tangible. She felt a knot of fear forming in her stomach. "Just the fact that all these guardians are awakening means that whatever is coming can't be handled by the original core senshi alone," Miyako calmed her voice. "I won't tell anyone, Aria, if that's what you want. I do think you should consider telling my grandmother, she could help." As she spoke, an idea crept into her mind. She had no clue if it was a good idea, if it would work but it may be something. She looked at Cheng'e. "I just had a thought. Aria, maybe we could check the database. There may be information regarding your senshi heritage. Luna would be able to find out wouldn't she, Cheng'e?"

"Grandmama Luna?" Cheng'e blinked large, pink eyes and tilted her head to one side in a cute fashion as she thought this over. "Maybe. It depends on if there is something to find. But..Grandmama knows EVERYTHING! I'm positive she can help with this!" Cheng'e turned to Aria and Kaimana, eyes gleaming. "We could go find her. I think she's still in the Library, actually...she was looking up information on that Knight that showed up--Triton."

"I don't know..." Kaimana glanced between the princess and the Mauian girl before turning back to Aria. "I'm not sure if anything would be in there. Hapa is....well, she's very guarded about her past. The few times one of us asked we were told that it didn't matter, because it was in the past and should stay there. I don't know if she's told ANYONE about her family, except Mima. Still, I suppose anything is possible. I mean, a lot of information is supposed to be in the history books about the Senshi's civilian lives before they became Senshi....what do you think, Aria?"

"I understand," Miyako said. It made sense that there probably would not be family information for Luna to find. "And that's completely possible, but I'm wondering if there is information about guardian senshi. Is it possible that there hasn't been guardian senshi previously?" Miyako moved her lips to stretch the left, giving the clear indication she was thinking. "I'm just wondering if maybe it would be helpful if we could find some information about your senshi form, Aria."

Everyone seemed intent on trying to figure out as much for her as possible. It was quite flattering and a bit humbling, to be honest. "I thought about have records checked as well but, then again, if it was recorded anywhere, I wouldn't be telling you about this now would I? And I would prefer this to be withheld, at least until I've spoken to Queen Haruka about it." Aria answered. "My only thought is that if anything about Haruka's family is listed anywhere, it would be someplace private possibly with under immense security."

Still, Miyako's other idea about trying to find out information about guardian senshi of the past, if they existed at all was a much better thought. "I would love any information I can get my hands on." Aria further added.

"The only other thing I can think of that might give addition credence to this, aside from being a senshi, would be a DNA test." she suggested. "Even if I'm descended from her sister, there would some correlation between my DNA and her's."

Miyako gave Aria a small smirk. "There is very little information that Luna cannot find," She said, regarding Haruka's past family. "Queen Ami worked with her on setting up the databases in the palace. Any and all information regarding the past and present are stored in our system. It's the most thorough database in the entire system," Miyako said rather proudly. She had wished she was able to spend more time learning her way around the database but with so many other "princess" lessons that required her attention, it was considered a priority to many of her tutors.

"But I do think you're right, Aria. I think we should be less focused on trying to tie bloodlines to past relatives and more about your alter ego. If Queen Haruka really has a fit about your identity, the hospital can do a blood test in no time at all. But hopefully it won't come to anything quite that extreme."

OOC: I hope it's okay if I move Keiko to this thread. I was going to move her to the night club thread but I thought this one might be more fitting of her personality.

Keiko was glad it was over and especially glad that she was able to avoid going out with the Venetian girls. They seemed...nice enough. But shopping and clubbing was not really on her mind right now. The whole passing of powers had felt more awkward than she thought. Although she wasn't sure what she had really expected, but that had not been it. She drifted through the palace, a guard would stop her occasionally but it was easy enough to get past them.

The palace was quite a spectacle. She hadn't been in a very long time. Her parents were not fans of this aspect of her lineage. She looked at each painting and statue as she passed. She could feel the energy rolling off the walls. It was sad and disturbed. No doubt residue from the attack that happened early. The next attack she would be apart of. As Sailor Mars...

Keiko heard quieted voices coming from what appeared to be a dining area. She followed it and pressed the swinging door open and peeking in. Three girls and a cat sat around a table and they seemed to be enjoying cookies and milk. The Moon Princess was unmistakable but the other two she did not know. She wondered if they were also princesses and also senshi.

"He-hello?"

"I'm POSITIVE Grandmama can tell us something about Guardian Senshi! I mean, it seems strange that they would only be showing up, NOW. Surely there is something in the library about them...even if it's not from THIS galaxy." after all, there were many galaxies out there, and all of them filled with planets and stars for potential Senshi.

"I think it's settled, then. We should go to the library and see if Luna and Artemis are still there. And , if so, if they can shed any light on this situation." Kai smiled softly at Aria, thankful that she wasn't upset by the Princess' prying nature. Not that Miyako was trying to prying, she was sure, but someone of a more sensative nature might take it that way.

Cheng'e rushed to her feet and flew free of Miyako's shoulder, landing on the floor as silently as only a kitten could. She was just rushing up to the door leading out of the dining hall, when it opened before her, revealing Keiko. The feline blinked, staring up at the dark-haired girl that had appeared in the doorway.

"Hello..." the feline smiled up at the girl, trying to place why her face looked so familiar. As a Guardian in training, it was Cheng'e's duty to know all the members of each royal family in their kingdom. Of course, that was a LOT of names and faces to try and memorize, but Cheng'e liked to think she had quite the handle on the task. "You're...Keiko, right? Grand daughter of Queen Rei of Mars?"

"It wasn't until Cheng'e actually said the girls name that Kaimana had any idea WHO she was. Sure, the girl had looked mildly familiar--she definitely had a Japanese sort of look to her, but that didn't necessarily pin-point her to Mars, specifically. Further, Kai was not at all familiar with many of the other royal family. At least not at first glance. Nereida had a better talent for names and faces than she did, and Nereida wasn't there, unfortunately. Thankfully Cheng'e filled in the gap.

"Hello Keiko." Kai had risen to her feet just as the dark-haired Princess had interrupted them. "It's a pleasure to see you." as politeness dictated, Kai gave the girl a quick bow, then turned toward Aria and Miyako. Miyako had probably recognized the girl even as Cheng'e had, but Aria was likely in the dark about who this girl was. Further, she wasn't sure if Aria wanted to reveal her secret to her. "Ah...this is my friend, Aria. We were just visiting with Miyako"

A shout rushed through the hall behind Keiko, and seconds later the alarm from earlier--the one signaling an attack--went off, once again. "Not another attack!" Kai's eyes widened, one hand rising to clutch at her chest with sudden fear. They had only JUST recovered from the last attack! What could possible by happening, NOW? Indecision held her in place and it would be clear to those in the room tha tshe wasn't sure she wanted to go rushing into another battle so soon.

We have to go help!" Cheng'e turned to stare at her charge, her pink eyes a little wide, but her expression stil determined. "Sailor Moon can't afford NOT to show up, again!" she might have ben just a kitten, but Cheng'e knew that the people NEEDED to see Sailor Moon defending the palace. "Come on, guys! We need to go help the guards!"

Aria was pleasantly surprised by the willingness of these girls to help her figure out what she could. And before she couldn't fully process everything, the plan was set in motion. They were heading to the library to see Cheng'e's grandmother for information and, more than likely, to research what they could about guardian senshi. Aria groaned inwardly at the the word. She did okay in school but Aria was not a book worm. She just was not the sort who could search and sift through who know how much information to find something that may, or may not, exist.

Fortunately, there was a delay in the form of another girl. Cheng'e was quick to identify her as Keiko, the Princess of Mars. Unfortunately, as Aria saw it, this was just the universe's way of stalling the trip to the library that she would have preferred to get over and done with right away. That was all a minor thought though. Kaimana had introduced her as a friend and left it at that. Stepping forward, Aria gave a small bow of her head and shook Keiko's hand. "Nice to meet yo-"

Her introduction was cut off by an alarm. Kaimana immediately identified it as the one used to signal an attack. Hanging her head a little, Aria shook slowly. She really did not want to fight again. But whether it be by divine right or the will of another force beyond comprehension, they had little choice. Those who had to fight rarely did. Aria noticed that the teal haired girl was feeling the same sense of indecision. Resting a hand on Kaimana's shoulder, Aria just stared at her. In that moment, reddish-brown met aquamarine; Aria's eyes reflected the uncertainty and fear that Kaimana was feeling but there was a hint of confidence.

"We can do this." she declared simply.

OOC: So before I post a reply, I'm wondering if we should be jumping to the other attack thread or is it okay for me to respond? I have no problem with either, I'm happy to post there and get that started but I just wanted to get ya'lls thoughts before I just moved us all about.

OOC: Pixie, just reply for reaction here, then when they leave the room end the post and restart with them in the other thread.

Kaimana was much more graceful in her speech than Miyako. But then again all Neptunians were that way. She gave Kaimana and Aria both a sweet smile. "Maybe we can all find out some things about our senshi counterparts. Like how in the galaxy were they able to do this in high heels..." Miyako's thought was cut short by the quiet entrance of the Princess of Mars. Miyako was able to recognize her quickly. It was her job to know all the members of the royal families. She had certainly been quizzed on it enough time. And even if she hadn't, the fact that girl bore a striking resemblance to the Queen would have given it away.

Keiko bowed her head politely to the pink kitten. Her grandmother was always insistent that the guardians deserved the utmost respect from people. She then bowed the other three girls. She recognized both Kaimana and Miyako for obvious reasons. She peered at Aria, Kaimana introduced her as just a friend but Keiko could sense that it was not that simple. The energy rolling off her was not that of a normal girl. Keiko wanted to ask if they were all officially senshi yet but this time her brain stopped her. "My grandmother thought it would be a good idea for me to find others," She paused, letting the word hang with additional meaning. "She thought I should become acquainted."

Before the conversation could continue, the sound of alarms started going off and guards started to swarm the halls. Miyako poked her head out and then looked back at Aria and Kaimana with concern. She didn't want them to fight. She looked at Cheng'e wondering if she COULD tell them to sit this one out. It wasn't fair. It was unnerving that there was already another attack on the palace. She looked at Keiko, she was sure that Rei had granted her powers to her granddaughter already but she didn't really even know this person.

Keiko's expression changed once the alarms started. She no longer appeared shy and unsure of the people she was meeting. She looked ready to fight. Her red eyes connected with the nervous amber ones of Princess Miyako. Keiko gave the princess a short but serious nod, letting her know that she was ready to follow. "I have your back, Sailor Moon."

She looks so determined... Kai couldn't help but stare in wonder at Keiko's sudden shift from demure and shy to, well, capable and confident. The nod she gave Miyako was unmistakable, and her follow-up that she had the Princess' back, well it defintely made Kai feel a little guilty. Here she was, standing there feeling helpless and wanting nothing more than to turn her back on her PRINCESS when it was her duty to protect her!

Miyako's concern was touching, of course, and it was clear by the look in her eyes that the Princess wanted to let Kai and Aria stay back...but Kai knew she'd never be able to forgive herself if something happened and she hadn't been there. Nereida certaintly wouldn't let her forget it!

A sudden touch to her shoulder drew the girl's aqua eyes around to be captured by Aria's gaze; a gaze that held the same uncertainty and fear that resided within Kai's heart. Yet, there was determination...hope...faith. Not just in herself, but Kai could see that Aria had faith in HER as well. Faith I haven't really earned....and how could she earn it if she was running from her duty? Running from the responsibility she had been given. Whether she wanted that responsiblity or not, it was hers. The power was hers to wield, and it was selfish NOT to help when she had the power to do so.

Lost in Aria's gaze, the woman's words lingering in her ears, Kai searched deep within herself for the strength that Aria seemed to think she had. Surely it was there, somewhere. What was that saying her Hapa had always used when training them in self defense? Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the will to act despite that fear...

"Alright..." the word was whispered, and it still wasn't all that confident, but when she opened her eyes, Kai nodded her agreement. "We need to hurry...we're at your back, Sailor Moon."

"That's the spirit!" Cheng'e hopped into the air, performing a cute back-flip in her enthusiasm before turning back to Miyako. Though she had wanted to confirm that Miyako could let Aria and Kaimana not fight this battle, she just wasn't sure that was a good idea. In truth, she had no idea what was right or wrong in that moment, or what to say to help, so she remained silent, hoping that somehow Kaimana and Aria would find their way. Something inside her said they would, was confident that they would make the right choice, and she was definitely glad she'd listened to that subconcious voice.

"You shoudl transform before we leave, Miyako! There's no telling what's going on out there, now. In fact, you should ALL transform! We need to be ready to face the enemy!" the feline turned her bubble-gum pink eyes to each girl in turn as she said this, then returned to Miyako. Both Kai and Aria had already transformed, once, and Cheng'e was confident they would be just fine in that department. But Miyako had never transformed, and the kitten wasn't sure if the Princess would be feeling nervous about her first transformation.
