Senshi-in-Training
|
((OOC: With Justyce blessing, I am moving this thread forward a bit.)) Lara always saved the best for last. She lead Arabeth from the most recent stuff to more speculation. She could only hope that her roommate was having as much fun as she was. There were several myths floating around about how the senshi came to be or least got their powers and the origin of the Ginzuishou. She stopped in front of her favorite myth. There was something that always spoke to her. It was a large stone statue that depicted each of the major Greek/Roman Gods. It was said that during the Golden Age long before the Silver Millennium, these gods were highly worshiped. This lasted for quite some time. Soon man began to learn more about the world around him and the mystery of most things were solved. They did not necessarily need to help of the higher beings to achieve greatness. The gods had seen this which caused a great debate. In the end, they decided to bless a few of the remaining followers part of their powers. In that, the senshi were born. She glanced over. She remembered her mother telling her that story quite often along with some of the others. She usually insisted on that one or some of the others stories that came alive from the digs. She glanced up and found that her eyes were drawn to that of Chronos. The need to look up at this god was even greater then normal. She found herself lost in his eyes ancient all knowing eyes. It was almost as if the Lord of Time was trying to tell her something that she could not quite grasp. Setsuna saw her granddaughter staring up at the statue. She felt the stress from the day slowly fade away. Fear gripped her heart as she cleared her throat. "I use to know a young girl who loved to hear stories of ancient times. I some how get the feeling that you are like minded in that." Lara jumped as the soft voice spoke from behind her. The spell from the statue was broken. She turned around only to find the dark green haired woman standing with a key shape rod in her hand. It took but an instant to figure out that it was the Queen of Pluto. She threw herself into a clumsy curtsy. "Your Highness", was all that she could stumble out. A chuckle rose in her throat for it seemed Lara know who she was right away. Garnet eyes twinkled as she replied. "That is not nesscary for a member of the Pluto royal family. We tend to just nod or even hug if the moment is just right." Lara's hazel eyes widen at the mention of royal family. There was something that did not make sense. She was fairly certain that she was not a princess by any means. Her parents were simple ordinary folks. Granted right before her mother died, she was finally going to met that side of the family. "I thought that you had only six grandchildren." It would seem that Setsuna's daughter never told her family exactly where she came from which surprised the queen very little. It would seem that her only daughter cut that out of her life until right before her death. She felt tears start to form through she pushed them back. It was not the time nor the place. She gave a tiny sigh as she chose her wording carefully. "That is what most of the system believes. I have kept something very quite. Would you like to know that is?" Curiosity blossomed with in Lara. The queen wanting to tell little her a secret was an opportunity that she could not pass up. It was just like when her parents teased her with some of their latest finds. There was also a tickling in the back of her mind. She quickly pushed it away. There was no time for that now. "I would be honored. Hardly anyone tells me stuff like this. I mean it is not like I have a lot of friends to begin with. Really the only person I hang out with is Arabeth, my roommate." Heat rose to her cheeks as she realized suddenly that she started to babble on. She knew that it was not very polite. Her eyes turned to the ground as the feeling of being stupid filled her. Setsuna drew closer as her granddaughter. Her heart went out to the young girl. She knew that there was nothing to be afraid of. She missed their chats in the gardens of Pluto while she was pretending to be a simple woman helping out a poor girl. "There is no need to be embarrassed, child. My secret is that I have seventh grandchildren. You see, my daughter contacted me after so many years of being apart that she wanted me to meet her family. However the little family never made it for my daughter was killed. I was lucky to have run into my granddaughter one day. I have been helping her along since she first moved to Pluto though under a different name." Lara felt her jaw drop as the short story was told. It took a minute for her to make the connections for shock ran through her very being. If what she heard was correct then Queen Setsuna was in fact her grandmother and mentor and she was really a princess. Words seemed to fail her. It was all too much to take in. She covered her face with one hand as she turned and ran out of the room and through the museum. It was way too much to take all of this in. Emotions flooded through her never quite sure which one would finally take hold. The only thought that kept running through her head was that she was really a princess and she was just now finding out. It was like this all the way back to the shuttle then to her room. It was there that tears of anger and sadness flooded her. She hated that the queen of Pluto had waited so long to tell her. She would avoid going home as much as possible. If she never saw that woman again it would be too soon. She was also angry at her mother for not telling her exactly who she was before she died. It was all so unfair. Sadness came pouring in as she thought about her mother. She missed her more then words could say. Hearing the story and seeing the exhibits today only drove home the fact. She wanted to feel those soft airs and the sent of dirty. Those comforting words that everything was going to be alright. She laid on her bed letting the emotions drain out of her. She fell into a light sleep, exhausted from the greatest shock of her life. Setsuna let out a sigh as she watched the realization come over her granddaughter. Her heart broke when Lara said nothing. The reaction of shock said it all. The feeling that the past might repeat itself was a real possibility. She could only hope that she would not be completely cut out of Lara's life for not telling her sooner. She turned to find Arabeth. She felt that with so much going on that it would not be a good idea to have her granddaughter alone. |
