Setsuna slowly made her way back to the Palace. The trip to see her granddaughter weighed heavily on her heart. There was a great fear of her daughter's life was happening all over again. She barely registered anyone else with her long walk. There were nods of heads as many recognized the Queen of Pluto. She passed the guards with a blank look on her face, some one had asked her a question however it flew out her ear. Her steps carried her to the usual rooms that she used whenever she had to stay here. She ached to take a shuttle back home however there seemed to be way too many issues going on here for that to be able to happen. She opened to door to a beautifully furnished sitting room as a hallway ran off to the left in order for the bedroom and bathroom. The walls were painted a light green with ivory couch and chairs. Pictures hung on the walls from various artists ranging from classic to modern. There was a set of machony coffee table and end tables with eloquent lamps on them. Her body slummed down into the soft fabric of the nearest chair. Her mind turned over and over again about what had happened at the museum. She had to admit that it might have been wrong to keep Lara in the dark so long. She knew that the girl had been through so much between school, losing her mother, and a family that never quite understood her. Who could blame her for wanting that child to have a bit of normalcy? It would seem that Lara did and for good reason. She must hate Setsuna now. Tears came flooding up to her eyes. She let a precious few fall for no one was around to see them. She felt the same way as the other queens that if she could fight this threat and let her family live in peace then she would. It had not been an option for some time since terra forming the planets. It was wonderful to see the human race spreading out as it has however it also came with the responsibility of being the ruler of her home world as well. With that responsibility came along some of the greatest joys and heart aches. It would seem that once again these were upon her. She once again must take solace in her family. With that thought, she felt the need to talk with her son for a moment or two. It might help ease the burning sensation of guilt and pain from the afternoon. She grabbed the transmission as she rang for her son. The phone kept going on for ages until he picked up. The slightly tanned face with brown hair much like his father's appeared before her. A smile lit her face, she was glad he was not too busy at the moment. "Mother, what a pleasant surprise! I heard what had happened at the palace and we have just been worried out of our minds that something had happened to you. I tried a couple of different times however I kept getting the automated message system. Are you alright?" A worried look came from her only child. She nodded her head as so much had happened since this morning. "I am fine. I was lucky enough to be in the safe room here while the attack was going on. It seemed to have happened a few moments after I had started talking with Helios. I am sure it did not help anything that I was pulled into a meeting with the other queens. Is everyone safe there?" "We are fine. I pulled the youngest ones from school and will be having them tutored here at the castle. I would rather them be close by. As for the others, I have been hearing that they are safe and were not around the attack area. In fact one of them could have sworn that he saw Lara around the Moon." A frown came to her face at the mention of her last grandchild. She was happy to hear that her semi large family was safe for the moment. "Yes I actually talked with Lara. She seems to be in good spirits." Setsuna paused for just a moment before she went on. Her mind turning over what had happened earlier. "We had a bit of a chat that did not go in my favor. She knows that she is princess of Pluto. I fear she may hate me just as much as your sister did at one point in time." Zephyr looked at his mother with sad eyes. He wished that this talk was happening with both of them in the same room. "Mother, you did what you thought was best, you always have. She will come around just like Chiyoko did. It will just take a bit of time. I will make sure that the guards keep an eye out for her and inform me the moment she steps into the castle. I can see if the others will keep an eye on her as well after a little while. We will get through this just like we always have." Setsuna smiled halfheartedly. "When did you get to be so wise, child? It was only yesterday that I was breaking up a few fights around the castle." "When I became a father myself. Plus I like to think that some of it comes from you as well." He gave a tiny wink of his eye. "There is one other matter I must warn you about. There is a man by the name of Hatter who has been awakening old allies from the past. I want the guards to be on the look out for him. I also want the security system up to the highest setting. If we can, I want him captured. There are a few questions that need to be answered." "It will be done, queen mother", he said in a joking manner as he bowed his head in a dramatic way. She gave a bot of a chuckle as her eyes rolled. "Excellent. I am hoping that I will be able to return home in the next day or so. There are still many things that need to be discussed with the passing of powers and recent attacks. I will tell the switch boards to patch you through right away. Chronos bless us in our time of need." "Good luck with all of that, mother. I hope that things do not take much longer there. I love you. And remember, Lara will come around when she is ready. You did what you had to do." "You always know what to say, my wonderful son. We will plan something special for when she does. I will keep you updated if things should change. I love you too." She signed off. It seemed as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She relaxed in the chair and closed her eyes. Her mind slowly drifting off to a light sleep. |

Setsuna awoke with a start. Her mind took a moment to realize where she was at. A hand rubbed her temples as she mulled over what had happened earlier. She took a deep breath while pushing it to the side. What will be, will be. There is much more that needs to be taken care of. She slowly rose from her chair, taking a quick stop to the bathroom before making a nice pot of tea. A warm drink seemed to be one of the few things that ever calmed her nerves. With so much happening at the moment that it was needed. She debated about when it would be best to head home. She was feeling as if she wanted some time around people who were not mad at her on some level. The happenings from the meeting earlier came flooding back. She closed her eyes as she hoped things will have settled down with Haruka. She could understand the fear with loosing a family member with everything that has been going on. Hell she was scared herself of loosing someone for the second time. The kettle signaled that the water was done, she grabbed a cup from the cupboard. She returned to the chair as she took a few tentative sips. The hot liquid ran down her throat as a soft moan escaped her lips. She turned on the screen, about to check some of her mail when a knock on the door interrupted her. She swore loudly as burning water hit her dark skin. She placed the cup down as she heard the sounds of an attack once more. To attack the palace once was daring, twice in one day is suicide. She answered the door as a young guard stood there. The woman saluted her before stating, "The king wants everyone in the safe room. Come with me ma'am." Setsuna followed once again into the safest spot in the entire solar system. She thanked the guard as she entered into the room. She was a little surprised to find that she was the first one there. Her garnet eyes glanced up to the monitor as the fight was being watched. The corners of her mouth twitched as Neo Moon, Mars, Neptune, and a senshi she did not recognize faced down who it was. There was another sensation coming from somewhere, though she could not put her foot on it. She pushed it out of her mind as she watched the battle. Fear bubbled up as well knowing that soon her own granddaughter would be joining the ranks. She wished deeply for her husband to be with her though it was out of the question at the moment. She could only hope that Lara would forgive her in time to help save the universe from the evil that was threatening it. If it was possible, she would take up the mantle again but alas times had changed a lot since those day. She crossed her arm awaiting the outcome of the fight as well as the other queens to join her. This would possible help guide the green senshi on their journey as she took mental notes for later. |

Neo Queen Serenity had only just sat down to make the call to her father when the alarm sounded another attack on the palace. A rush of panic filled the Queen, causing her to stand ram-rod straight at her desk. 'They're attacking, again...and I can do NOTHING...' her eyes closed, her teeth clenched, and she bent at the waist to press her hands into the top of her desk. The pressure was so great as she leaned on her palms that her joints turned white. Helpless...my kingdom, my family...me...I am being targeted by this deadly enemy and I haven't the power to do ANYTHING.' the rage she'd felt before returned, and her hands clenched. She didn't even notice that her nails dug into the wooden surface, gouging ragged lines into the desktop. "NO!" with a swift motion she swept everything off the desk-top and to the floor, not caring if it were fragile. Papers, booklets, and computer equipment tumbled to the ground, some of it cracking with real damage, but she only saw the wall ahead of her. Standing straight, the Queen's breath came in rapid gasps. "I wont be helpless...there has to be something I can do..." she reached for her scepter and gripped it tightly, but the Ginzuishou was no longer nestled at the top of it. The lack of that fully blossomed flower of crystal left her heart feeling cold. Her eyes widened. Miyako.... Momentarily distracted, the Queen rushed from her office and down the hall, headed for the saferoom she knew the royals would be ushered to if they were in the palace and NOT locked in their rooms. The safe room had monitors throughout the entire palace, so as to watch what was going on. When she arrived at a dead-run, the palace guards stationed outside the door simply stepped aside, the only sign of their worry and shock being a slight widening of the eyes and a quick exchange of glances between each other. Serenity didn't even notice. She rushed into the room, stopping just inside to see that Queen Setsuna had beat her to the room. "What's happening?" |

Setsuna turned her attention from her inner thoughts as the voice of Small Lady filled the room. She took a few steps to the side as she made room for the queen to come closer if she wished. Her attention went back to the monitors as she answered the question. "From what I have seen, the senshi are defending a red haired boy that was being beaten up by one of those that tried to kill you. I dare say that the senshi seem to be fighting well. It seems that they are learning team work, even if things are a little sloppy still." Her eyes widen a fraction as the knight appeared on the screen blocking the attack that meant to hit Neo Moon, Cheng'e, and the red haired boy. She tilted her head to the side as a faint glow of maroon appeared before her eyes. She blinked a few times as she read what appeared before her. It would seem as if Earth has chosen her champion though her lips were sealed. It was not her place to tell as the energy cleared from her view. She watched the fight play out a little longer, hardly noticing that her breath has stilled. She gripped the Garnet Rod until her knuckles were white as the enemy took a hostage and then a few smoke bombs. She was relieved to see that everyone looked relatively unharmed. She felt her body relax as the fight was over for now. "I daresay that this one ended much better then the last one." |
