![]() Kyou munched on a hotdog as he moved among the crowd outside the Moon Palace. There were people getting pictures in front of the famous landmark but mostly, they were surrounding the roped off attack area in the Palace Gardens as though Senshi might appear and put on a show. I wish I'd gotten one without relish, Kyou mused, paying more attention to his food than what was going on around him. This was why it was never a good idea to put him as a keystone for any plane. "Soldier marches on his stomach," he mused, popping the rest of the treat in his mouth. Eyeing a entrepreneurial man running a crape stands, Kyou wondered if he had time to get one of those before Raijin came into play. Humm... Glancing around, he edged toward the cart. |

"Right! I wont!" Cheng'e waited for Neo Moon to set the weapon before her, then she carefully set her paw on top of it, as if to claim it as her own. She was not about to let anyone get it! It was, after all, the first clue to their enemy that they had, and it was best not to let the enemy have it back! However, she was soon distracted by Kyou and his rambling. Blinking, the feline turned bright, pink eyes to the young man, then followed his gaze to the Knight that had come to rescue them. "What do you mean, he shouldn't exist?" Cheng'e couldn't help but ask, the fur rising on her back as a chill rushed up her spine. "Yes, what DO you mean by that?" though he had wanted to keep his eye on Neo Moon, Kyou's words were too much to ignore. The Knight turned, leveling the full weight of his somewhat angry stare on the man before him. Was it possible this boy somehow knew who he really was? "What do you know of my existence?" a sudden desire to know the truth fueled Umber forward and he advanced with lightening-fast steps to reach out and grab the man by the front of his shirt. "Tell me, what do you mean I shouldn't exist? What do you mean I'm not apart of history? How...how would you know something like that?" "Hey! What do you think you're doing! Put him down!" the weapoin entirely forgotten in the face of Umber's attack on the man they were trying to help, Cheng'e rushed up to the two of them. "Stop it or I WILL hurt you!" the feline growled, her fur now standing on end, and this time it wasn't looking very fluffy, but rather sharp... Yomi stood back, hidden by a clump of plants while he watched the fight unfold. Umber's arrival and subsequent saving of Neo Moon and Cheng'e couldn't have looked cooler! The Knight had stopped only long enough to deposit Yomi, so he wouldn't be seen and, thus, give away Umber's true identity, and then the teen was off. "He looks so impressive!" the feline thought, only to blink with shock when, after Neo Moon rushed off, Umber turned to glare rather angrily at the man that was left standing with Cheng'e. What was going on, now? Yomi was too far off to know what was being said byt Kyou, but Umber's reaction t it was easy for the feline to see. "What is he doing!" Yomi gasped at the sudden actions of the Knight of Earth. Clearly the guy had said something to antagonize Umber, because why else would the PRince be accosting him? :Treasure! What are you doing? That's a civilian!: the mental contact rushed out, but he had no idea if the prince would even listen to him. Completely unaware of what was going on behind her, Neo Neptune was trying to figure out just what it was Titania was trying to tell her to do. She looked to the rock, then back to Titania...did she want her to hit the man over the head? Was that really necessary? He sure seemed to be out...Of course, before she had a chance to comply and even grab the rock, Taka suddenly appeared out of NOWHERE. "Taka!" Neo Neptune gasped at the cat-man's sudden appearance and his rushing up to the enemy. The fact that their enemey might actually still be concious and TAka was throwing himself into danger fueled NEo Neptune to step toward him, but by then it was too late. Raijin was on his feet, Taka held in a grip before him so that the Mauian was being used as a kitty-shield. "Please! Let him go!" Neptune's heart buckled at the sight of the poor kid now held captive by the enemy. Would he hurt him? "Don't you dare hurt him!" though what she was going to do if this guy DID hurt her guardian...well, she would think of something. And it would HURT. Though she clearly looked more worried than angry, there was still a cold threat in her eyes and her fists clenched dangerously. Then she saw Neo Moon. The girl had pulled her tiara off her brow and it was glowing and spinning. Hope blossomed in Neptune's heart and she quickly locked her eyes with Taka. "It'll be okay, Taka..." she offered, hoping to just distract the enemy long enough for Neo Moon to attack; but Raijin moved before Neo Moon was given the chance. By the time Moon sent her tiara flying, Raijin slammed a smoke bomb onto the ground. Thick, oily smoke filled the air, effectively blocking both Raijin and Taka from view. "Taka!" Neo Neptune rushed forward, no longer caring about her own safety, anymore. Taka didn't deserve to be hurt! He was just trying to help! Just trying to be a good Guardian. Teal energy glittered to life in her clenched hand, quickly forming into the familiar shape of the Aqua Mirror. "Cerulean Tide, Unveil!" the Senshi of the Sea acted on instinct more than anything else, shouting the first thing that acame to mind while lifting the Mirror so that the glass was pointed at the smoke. Brilliant teal energy blasted from the glass and where it touched the smoke seemed to ripple away, like parting a curtain. Taka was quickly found kneeling on the ground where Raijin had forced him, but there was no sign of the enemy. Not caring in the least about him, anymore, Neo Neptune rushed up to Taka and dropped to her knees beside him. "Are you okay?" |

Neo Mars turned her head and used her arm to protect her face from the smoke bombs Rajin set off. When it was clear enough to see, thanks to Neo Neptune's quick thinking, Rajin had vanished. The trail of blood was clear and Neo Mars' first instinct was to pursue but considering but Neptune's reaction to the hostage, whom she clearly knew, gave Neo Mars pause. Pushing a pursuit may be smart but it would clearly cause a disagreement and she couldn't afford to start off her new position by alienating herself from the group. She sighed inwardly, pushing down the adrenaline of Aries that wanted her to pursue and walked over to Neo Neptune and the shaken up friend. She lightly touched Neptune's shoulder. "I can read energies, you know? I can check him over if that will help?" Neo Mars had no clue if that would be helpful at all. It was skill that a lot of people found weird and even disturbing. But she wanted to be helpful and she wanted to be friends. Neo Moon coughed and covered her face at Rajin's smoke bombs. 'Where do people find those things?' She pondered. Luckily Neo Neptune was able to blast away the smoke, leaving only hostage looking mostly dazed. He must have been close Neptune, considering her reaction and even as going far to have begged Rajin for his release. Neo Moon was more than relieve to see that Rajin hadn't done any visible physical harm to him. "Everyone okay?" Neo Moon called, looking at the team. "Titania? That was quick a hit you took, are you sure you're okay?" |

Titania seemed to give a bit of a smile as Neptune had noticed the rock. She wanted Neptune to throw the small rock at the guy to see if he was really out or just playing possum. Excessive? Maybe. But it would save them from having to close in on someone who was waiting....if that was what he was doing. But that plan, however, right down the crapper as soon as some random civilian tried to bind the man's hands. The downed enemy sprang to life and now he had a hostage. Neo Mars seemed more than willing to take a shot with her arrows and Neptune was more pissed than anything that the man had taken a hostage. She must've known the hostage. She was no less willing to attack Rajin while he held his hostage. It was a cheap move in her book and one that reeked of desperation but, unfortunately, it was no less effective. He had halted their attack. Their enemy seemed to lose his patience and threw down some smoke bombs, filling the area and leaving the group of senshi coughing. She couldn't see a thing but there was a distinct clang sound then the sound of Neo Neptune's voice. Her attack cleared the smoke away quickly and with great ease, leaving only them and the hostage in the area. "Crap." Titania spat. Moving to Taka's side, she looked down at him as Neo Neptune all but threw herself at the guy. She definitely knew him. But Neo Moon soon asked if she was okay, citing the hit from Neptune's attack earlier. "Yeah, I'm okay." she answered, glancing down at Neptune with a teasing smirk. "Not every day someone tries to drown me." It probably was enough water to actually drown someone but the overall speed of the rushing water kept it from being a problem. Still, she could at least try to lighten the mood with a bit of teasing. It was an accident after all. |

Kyou looked down at the hand gripping his shirt. By the genuine, raw reaction to his words, it was clear this man was not from his world. Well, that was one possibility eliminated. It wasn't hard to fake fear. He didn't know anything about this man or where his moral compass pointed. "I just mean... Sailor Moon, Sailor Mars, Sailor Neptune. They're all in our history but... but not you. No one like you," he stammered. "Just... wanted to know... who are you?" He was only slightly aware of Raijin dropping smoke bombs. Clearly, his cousin was booking it. Here's hoping their planned worked. If this guy didn't kill him first. That would so suck. ~*~ When the man grabbed him, using him as a shield, Taka knew he'd messed up. Big time. He could just hear his mother's voice in his head calling him worthless. When the enemy kicked his knees, he went down easily. Too easily. His glasses flew off and, to make matters worse, the man threw smoke bombs. Fumbling around in the thick smoke, he tried to find his glasses but only felt grass and concert under his hands. You idiot, his mother's voice taunted him. Worthless. You're good for nothing but laying about playing video games. A shame on our proud house. When the smoke disappeared, he sat on his knees sniffling. Not wanting to be seen like this, his form shrank until he was a tubby little gray tabby. He still couldn't see a thing without his glasses but, feeling ashamed, he curled up into himself, covering his face with his tail. "I'm sorry, princess. You deserve better," he whimpered into his fur. Edited by Lady Storyteller, Apr 3 2014, 08:16 PM.

Treasure stared deeply into Kyou's eyes, searching that gaze for any sign of deceit...but it seemed the statement had been an innocent comment. Hearing Yomi in the back of his mind, Umber took a breath and carefully released Kyou. "You should be careful how you word things in the future." the prince muttered, taking a step back. "As for who I am...You can call me Umber." it was the only information he intended to give to this man. Turning his gaze down to Cheng'e, he couldn't help but grin. "You're actions are admirable, little cat, but un-necessary..." he gave Kyou a final glance, clearly still not sure about him; there was a chill to the Prince's gaze while he set Kyou's face to memory. Only then did he turn to see smoke was dicipitating and the Senshi were huddled around something. Was it the enemy? Striding purposefully, Umber came up to the group to investigate. "I don't trust that guy..." Cheng'e watched the Knight walk away with narrowed eyes before turning back toward Kyou. "Are you alright, sir?" Though her gaze was on Kyou when she asked this, she couldn't help glancing back toward her charge. That Knight was heading over there...she didn't like that, either. Her discomfort would be easy for Kyou to see, too. Her tail flicked this way and that, and her whiskers were twitching. The fur along her body hadn't fully flattened, either, so she still looked extra puffy. Kaimana watched Taka shrink down to that of a feline, his dejected and clearly depressed look tugging at her heart. The moment his transformation faded and his whispered, sad words came to Kai's ears, the girl immediately reached out and scooped him into her arms. "Taka, you have nothing to apologize for." she whispered even as she hugged him to her chest, her chin dropping to rest on top of him. "You were just trying to help. You knew it was dangerous, but you still came to help us." as she spoke, she caught site of the watch that he'd given her earlier in the day, and the sight of it made her smile. "You're going to be a great Guardian, Taka...I just know it. We just...need some practice. Both of us...it's not as if I did all that great as a Senshi,!. After all, like Sailor Titania said, I tried to drown her!" she glanced up at the red-headed Senshi as she said this. Though she hadn't made any comment or even lookd at Titania when she'd mentioned being nearly drowned, she HAD heard the statement. Taking another breath, Neo Neptune pulled back enough to look down at Taka and smile reassuringly at him. "Everyone makes mistakes, Taka. Even me. What people should be measured by is their willingness to improve and learn from those mistakes. So, if you're willing to help me learn from my mistakes, I'll help you learn from yours. Deal?" |

Taka lifted his head, tears swimming in his large, kitty eyes. "Really?" He asked. This was the first time he'd been hugged for messing up. "I'll do better. I promise." He butted her chin with his head. |
