As you guys saw, Nexus was down for the past couple of days. Reason being, there was trouble in the admin team. Some of the admin couldn't seperate personal issues with business, and running a message board is a business. Sure you make friends and chat with them, but if you are admining a site, there has to be order and authority among the board leaders.

The simple fact of the matter is that Darren was unfit to be an Admin, and should never have been made one in the first place. He lost two previous votes and was only appointed an Admin after he played the 'friendship' card SEVERAL times. Darren, as an admin, proved himself to be confrontational and excessively argumentative with other admins and mods. He often instigated fights, but then he would always swing things around and make it seem like everyone elses fault but his own. Many polite disputes/disagreements turned quite volatile as a result, which created unnecessary tension between admins. Darren also made several unilateral decisions, acting without the consent of the full admin team.

When the correct majority decision was made to demote him, rather than accepting it, the dissenting minority sabotaged the site - all forums and posts were deleted, and an attempt was made to make the site incapable of being accessed by any member of Admin, or of being resurrected.

This was a directed attack not just at the Admin team, but at the entire membership of Nexus. What Joel and Darren did really hurt all of us. They acted childish and vindictive. Sure we may administer the site, but YOU guys built the community. If it wasn't for you guys, this would just be another empty board in cyberspace. You are all wonderful members and did NOT deserve to be out-shafted like Joel and Darren apprently thought you should have been.

Thank you all for having support in us and sticking around through the hardest of times.

We've taken steps to ensure that this will never happen again.
