Rest in peace, Test.
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

So I haven't watched really since last year's Wrestlemania. But Monday I was cruising through channels and noticed Christian is back with WWE. WTH?? How did that happen? What's the real life story and what's the show's story with him?

The real life story of Christian's return is similar to the real life story behind his initial departure to TNA. When he left WWE back in 2005, it was because he felt that he had hit the proverbial glass ceiling in WWE. The final straw was reportedly when they started building what seemed like it would be a main-event level feud between him and John Cena, only to blow off the feud half-assedly and move Christian over to SmackDown, dropping him back to the mid-card. So at the end of his contract, he came to amicable terms with WWE and went to see if he could go make a mark in TNA. Life was good there for a while, but as TNA started signing more and more WWE and even WCW castoffs, Christian started moving back into the pack, and it was clear he wasn't ever going to be used as a major star in TNA. So basically, he made the decision when his TNA deal expired that if he wasn't going to be used as a star in TNA either, then he may as well go where he'd be making more money, and made his return to WWE.

I personally feel like it was a good move for him, because for some reason, TNA was never really able to capture that awesome Christian aura that he had in WWE. Furthermore...well, TNA has devolved into a truly wretched product, and so I'm all in favor of getting my favorites out of that mess.

As for his storyline on TV...most people were expecting him to return to SmackDown and be part of a feud involving himself, Edge, Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy in some way (be it a reuniting of E&C vs the Hardys, a four-way feud, or even shaking things up and making an Edge & Matt vs. Jeff & Christian feud). However, he was instead dropped into ECW where he went right after Jack Swagger for the ECW title. While Christian didn't win the title, he and Swagger did put on one amazing freaking match, and now Christian has moved himself into the Money in the Bank picture. I wouldn't expect him to win the match (to me, all signs point to MVP this year), but he's one of the people who feasibly -could- win it.

man, that's great. I love me some Christian. If he ever goes back to Smackdown or RAW, I'll have to start watching again (i can't stand ECW). I'd still like to see him and Cena starting the feud over..that was fun while it lasted.

On another note, I also saw what the WM matches are going to be. I'm not really excited about many of them. HBK Undertaker looks good, the Cena/Edge/Show feud looks like fun too. Money in the Bank is always fun. The other matches don't impress me much though.

The only things on 'Mania that have me interested right now are Undertaker/HBK and Hardy/Hardy. I feel really bad for Chris Jericho, who may have just produced the best year of his career (which, as a massive Jerichoholic, is saying a lot), and now is stuck in that really weak match.

But, to be fair, around this time of year I usually wind up bitching about the build to WrestleMania and how lame it looks this year, only to find myself loving the show when it actually happens (this, of course, excludes 'Mania 22). So I'm being realistic this year and saying "Well, they aren't putting much into building it this year, but at least I know the show itself will probably be awesome."

you can only blame Roarke for Jercho's situation. he's the one who bailed.

Hm...I don't know that you can "only" blame Rourke for the Jericho situation. Certainly, he had a hand in it, since he pulled out, but that doesn't mean WWE was incapable of finding a better solution for Jericho than this. Hell, Rourke pulled out before there was even a single match announced for WrestleMania, there was plenty that could have been done to position Jericho better than this.

Tazz's contract with WWE expired and he has chosen not to stay on with the company. The reason I've heard is simply a case where he feels burnt out and feels like he's ready to take some time off. There's no bad blood on either side, so it's entirely feasible that he could make his return to the company some day, but at least for the time being, Tazz is done with WWE.

I've gotta say, I'm gonna miss the hell out of him. He is without a doubt, with only one possible exception in the form of Bobby Heenan, the greatest color commentator of all time. I remember spending years watching him carry Michael Cole (though I'll admit that I didn't realize at the time how much he was carrying Cole...once upon a time, I just thought Cole actually was really good), and then get relegated to the #3 show (logical as it may have been at the time), all the while thinking "Man...wouldn't Tazz and JR as an announce team be something special?" Well, for the last several months, we got to listen to that team on SmackDown, and it was every bit as awesome as I'd hoped for. So, all the best to Tazz, and I hope to see him back someday!

...Oh, and before anyone tunes in to SmackDown this week, sees Tazz, and says "WTF? GLT lied!" I want to point out that this coming SmackDown will be his final show with WWE. Though I am hoping that he'll at least make some sort of deal with WWE and call WrestleMania as well, as that would be a more fitting last show.
