Tazz's contract with WWE expired and he has chosen not to stay on with the company. The reason I've heard is simply a case where he feels burnt out and feels like he's ready to take some time off. There's no bad blood on either side, so it's entirely feasible that he could make his return to the company some day, but at least for the time being, Tazz is done with WWE.

I've gotta say, I'm gonna miss the hell out of him. He is without a doubt, with only one possible exception in the form of Bobby Heenan, the greatest color commentator of all time. I remember spending years watching him carry Michael Cole (though I'll admit that I didn't realize at the time how much he was carrying Cole...once upon a time, I just thought Cole actually was really good), and then get relegated to the #3 show (logical as it may have been at the time), all the while thinking "Man...wouldn't Tazz and JR as an announce team be something special?" Well, for the last several months, we got to listen to that team on SmackDown, and it was every bit as awesome as I'd hoped for. So, all the best to Tazz, and I hope to see him back someday!

...Oh, and before anyone tunes in to SmackDown this week, sees Tazz, and says "WTF? GLT lied!" I want to point out that this coming SmackDown will be his final show with WWE. Though I am hoping that he'll at least make some sort of deal with WWE and call WrestleMania as well, as that would be a more fitting last show.
I know nothing about wrestling and I'm sure all your points are valid.

I just wanted to come in here and point out to you that we do have other threads here at Nexus you are allowed to post in :raspberry:
Snap, really? Where?
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

Umaga was released today. Haven't heard any reasons as to why yet.

Yeah, he suffered from a legitimate biceps injury and is going to be out for a couple months. The interesting thing about that is that he actually got hurt a couple days before Extreme Rules, and knew he was going in for surgery on Tuesday, so they already knew all that when they put the belt on him. I actually think the fact that they put the title on him was really interesting, because it will allow them to do something a little different now with the WWE Championship presumably getting held up. I think a tournament for the title could be a lot of fun, if that's what they decide to do.

On a more Batistaish note, this is yet another injury for Big Dave. He's clearly pretty injury prone, which is understandable since he's pushing 40. While he certainly has a lot more value to the company than Mr. Kennedy did, and so I don't see WWE ever making the decision that they just can't rely on him not to stay hurt, you have to wonder how much longer Batista himself will be willing to keep going. A few months ago, shortly before his return, there were rumors that he was thinking about just running through his current contract and retiring at the end of his deal. I would think that another injury so soon after his return would only push him farther in that direction.

I have never liked CM Punk... so I'm interested has he turned bad guy? I noticed that he was getting booed even before he did this... (I guess alot of people felt the same way I did.) I may have to start watching Smackdown again

It looked to me like they were turning CM Punk heel, which I am all for. I am a huge CM Punk fan, and if you've never seen his heel work in ROH, he is absolutely awesome when he goes to the dark side.

If you haven't been watching SmackDown, you've really been missing out. While Raw is usually two hours of garbage, SmackDown has been nothing short of phenomenal lately. The Jericho/Rey feud has been the best thing going in WWE, and Edge as always is the best bad guy in the business. You should absolutely check out the show.

too bad SmackDown lost MVP. He was the highlight of Smackdown for me.

As for a tournament for RAW's championship...I'm sure Edge will somehow figure out a way to get involved in it and end up winning the thing.
