ECW has been a lot of fun the last few months. It hasn't been on the level of SmackDown, granted, but its been just a solid hour of wrestling that's sure as hell a lot better than Raw is (or Impact on most weeks). They've been using it recently as sort of a "step 1 of your WWE career" show, and I think that's made it an interesting show to watch. As an ECW fan, I'm not necessarily dreading what they did to it, but I'm definitely curious to see how it holds up now. My guess is they have a number of guys they want to bring up from developmental, so they had to clear out some room for them. |
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

He should have been sent to SmackDown. However, he was sent...to still on ECW. It's actually kinda funny. Everybody's been waiting for Christian to get moved up to one of the other rosters, but when WWE finally goes and pulls practically every major character off of ECW...Christian is one of the two that gets to stay put. |

So let me say this again... Will somebody get Christian off of that horrible show?...(Shelton as well...) I saw The Miz at the mall yesterday... He is actually bigger than I thought he would be... Which means these other guys must be huge... |

I honestly don't see what's wrong with ECW. While I do 100% agree that Christian should have been moved to SmackDown, I'm just not understanding the ECW trashing I see. Granted, it sucked pretty badly early on, but for the last few months, it really has just been an enjoyable little show. Just a bunch of good workers being allowed to go out and work, without the ridiculously lame Raw-style storylines to bog them down. |

Now that's just not true. Heat and Velocity were the shows for the people who were just stuck as WWE jobbers. If you were a regular on one of those shows, it meant you most likely had no real future in the company, and thus there was no reason to watch them. ECW, on the other hand, is used as either a first step for new stars who will eventually be moved to one of the main rosters, or as a place for characters who have gotten a little stale to go and reinvent themselves. Being on ECW isn't the death knell for a career, it's actually more like where you go to watch a career being either born or reborn. |

I didn't say that everything they tried worked, that would be an unreasonable thing to assume from any company. Not everything the real ECW tried worked, not everything WWE did in the Attitude Era worked. So yeah, Kevin Thorn was a stupid gimmick that failed, but that's hardly indicative of the brand as a whole. |
