if it is true then TNA is just confirming the fact that they are a cheap rip off of WCW. |

Well the Hogan and Bischoff part is absolutely, 100% true. Flair at this point is just a rumor. Anyway, while I am not entirely sure I think the Hogan signing is a great idea, I don't think it's fair to accuse TNA signing the biggest name in the history of the business as just being a ripoff of WCW. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a growing wrestling company that wouldn't kill to have Hulk Hogan associated with their product. My concern is that, with the Main Event Mafia having just ended, it appeared we were entering an era where AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Matt Morgan, Hernandez, and some of the other young guys were finally going to get to run with the ball. Now, all I have are visions of AJ Styles falling to the almighty leg drop, brother, as Hulkamania runs wild all over Samoa Joe and he lifts the nine foot tall, 753 pound Matt Morgan over his head and press slams him off the moon, dude. |
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

what makes you think he's actually going to wrestle? |

Nothing specifically so far. In fact, that has even been one of the questions raised in this whole story, "What will Hulk Hogan even be doing with TNA?" So I'm not saying my worst-case scenario up there -will- happen, I'm just saying that it's a concern I have. Bischoff to me is actually the more interesting story. The word right now is that Bischoff won't be joining the TNA creative team or likely appearing on air as a character, but that it's actually more that TNA has come to a deal with Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment. What this means is that they might expand their business and explore entirely new television concepts that even WWE hasn't touched yet, because these are things that both Eric Bischoff and Dixie Carter have been saying they wanted to do for a long time now. What we do know of this part of the deal for now is that Bischoff is going to help work with TNA on its branding. Something I think everyone can agree on is that, even though TNA has been around for seven years now, they've never really done a great job of establishing their own identity as a wrestling company. There isn't a "This is why you watch TNA" aspect that WWE, WCW, ECW, the AWA, Jim Crockett Promotions, ROH, or even WCCW had. Bischoff is going to help TNA find that identity, and I think that's a really exciting idea. |

Bubba the Love Sponge claimed on his Twitter today that Hulk Hogan will be taking over the head booking duties for TNA. Keep in mind, Bubba is surgically attached to Hogan's ass, so I take just about nothing I hear from him seriously, but I thought I'd go ahead and add this to the discussion just in case he's actually right about this.

anyone else getting as annoyed with this RAW guest host stuff as i am? i mean half these people can't even pronounce the names of some of the wrestlers or even know who half the wrestlers are. the WWE needs to bring in a new GM for RAW, i'd like to see Bischoff return if he wasn't signing with TNA or even Sunny or how about Steve Austin or The Rock as the new GM.

I've never liked the guest host concept, since it's Vince McMahon just taking things one step further away from being a professional wrestling show. Vince wants WWE to be Saturday Night Live, and he simply doesn't understand that, for whatever crazy reason, people tune in to WWE to watch a wrestling show. Unfortunately, Vince McMahon reportedly has absolutely loved the guest host concept so far, so it's not going anywhere any time soon. I just think it really devalues their upper mid-card and top tier heels when every week, the guest host comes in and completely disrespects people like Chris Jericho and The Miz. I understand that the guest hosts want to come across as cool, but WWE is trying to run a business here, and it doesn't help them at all if Jericho and Miz just get made to look like total morons every week. Sharon Osbourne this week was one of the worst, because while Chris Jericho was trying to get some heel heat, she was just interrupting him, laughing at him, and being generally annoying. I don't blame the celebrities for not really getting how to get a wrestling character over, most of them aren't fans and don't watch, but that doesn't excuse WWE for continuing to put their heels in these situations. That said, I am currently looking forward to Kovi Johnson vs. Evan Braun at SummerFest. |

Nothing wrong with Kurt Angle besides the usual. I hadn't noticed anything weird about how he sounds, what's wrong with it? |
