Rock was only half black. And no, his father didn't win it. He was the first black man to hold ANY title I think...and that title was the tag team titles. |

1st black man to hold a World Title that I know of is Ron "Farooq" Simmons. He defeated Vader for the WCW title sometime in the early 1990's. |

I wonder if Vince fired someone last night. On the West coast we saw the End of Raw at the beginning of the show. Which was about the only interesting thing about the episode... I can not believe that Erica chick has not been eliminated... She can't even walk straight let alone run or god forbid body slam someone.. Her fake boobies seem to be throwing off her balance. I am voting for Layla with a strong second place for Melina. But as long Erica is eliminated this week I guess I can live with whoever wins. But Layla is the most exciting and athletic (and the most beautiful) |

Well, while I will admit that I was wrong about Booker never winning the belt in WWE (and very, very happy about that, by the way, as Booker is my current favorite WWE performer), I don't think any eating of words are in order. We all know full well that if the situation on SmackDown hadn't gotten so completely screwed up, Booker never would have seen that belt. In fact, the talk within the company was that Mark Henry was going to be the conduit champion from Rey to Batista, but since he got hurt, they expedited the process and made Booker the conduit instead. Anyway, what's more important is how awesome it is that Booker T is the World Champion on SmackDown. All complaints aside about how and why and all that, I am very, very pleased that Booker will at least get to hold the belt in WWE once. Woohoo! As for the whole black man winning the belt thing, everyone who has posted something about that here has been right. Ron Simmons was the first black man to hold an American world title. The Rock was the first black man to hold the WWE title. Booker T is the first completely black man to hold the WWE title (Or rather, World Title). And again...woohoo! |
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

"You take steroids! You both suck! Boring! Change the channel!" lol "ECW fans are going to start cheering the referee..." lol I don't think Batista will be volunteering to go to ECW again anytime soon. On a serious note they have to stop throwing items in the ring, they are going to get a wrestler hurt |

I have yet to come accross the WWE, during my channel surfing, and see anything other than grandstanding arguments in the ring between two people who arn't wrestling and booty shaking from the girls they have now (which I gather makes up like %75 of the WWE today). Hell, I even saw a beauty contest of sorts once. Now they even have this stupid white gorilla who raps in the ring?!?!? I used to watch it waaaay back when I was young (and then rarely) and the likes like Andre the Giant, The Iron Sheik, JYD and Hogan were stars. Now that was fake wrestling! |

lol, I love real ECW crowds, they're so entertaining. I wish ECW would only ever run the Hammerstein Ballroom, so they'd get an old school ECW crowd every time. I loved the way Joey and Tazz sold the "change the channel" chant, with them totally making a joke out of it and talking about "but we love Sci Fi!" I agree about the garbage in the ring thing. There are appropriate times for it (like when John Cena made his entrance at One Night Stand, or after Jeff Jarrett won the NWA Title...again), but doing it during an actual match is just dangerous. |

Apparently, this week it is the anniversary of Ron Simmons winning the WCW Title. |

What a career slide. Ron Simmons went from WCW Champion to a "Black Spartacus" to a "Black Militant" to a "Drunken Brawler Who Smokes Cigars" to "Guy Who Is Fired". |
