Okay, that is fair. I'm a huge Kennedy mark, myself, and let's face it...he's not exactly a great worker, so I understand where you're coming from on that. Anyway...I don't care who won the dumbass Diva Search, I'm just glad that monstrosity is over for another year. The fact is, every year WWE has wound up signing almost every one of the participants anyway (even though only about half of them wind up on TV), so the contest is utterly pointless. This year was particularly bad, because each week after the girl was eliminated, she would go to the back and have a contract waiting for her to sign. But yeah...I hated Christy (although I've developed some minor respect for her, since she seems to understand her role in the business), I -loathe- Ashley (Oh, I'm so tough....oh, wait, I hurt myself again), and I'm sure I won't be any fonder of Layla. There are women out there who are giving up their lives training to become professional wrestlers, most with the dream of someday winding up in WWE just to get a match on Raw. Doing these Diva Searches is a slap in the face to every single woman who has ever put in an honest effort into becoming a WWE diva. And on to my happy note that I like to toss into every post... TNA really showed what they were made of at Hard Justice. For those of you who didn't hear, during the opening match (a fun little bout between Johnny Devine and Eric Young), there was a small fire up on the roof. Obviously, the fire was put out and the building was evacuated. The situation led to 30 minutes of the PPV being stalled, but TNA handled the situation brilliantly. The first thing they did was roll the Sting/Jarrett video packages in order to organize what they would do, then they cut to the back and just had fun with it. Mike Tenay and Don West were more or less hosting the break from the show, when Eric Young (one of TNA's highlights right now) came and took the mic and said, "I just want you to know...that fire wasn't my fault. Please don't fire me!" Then they clearly told Monty Brown to go cut a promo to fill time, and he did, rambling in Monty Brown-tastic ways for like seven or eight minutes (and anybody who has ever seen a Monty Brown promo knows how silly those can be). Anyway, afterwards, they went back in and had one -hell- of a PPV. With the exception of Gail Kim vs. Sirelda, every match on the card was at least good, with several being excellent. This is one of those nights where despite TNA's flaws, you've just gotta give 'em a big thumbs up and a pat on the back. Kudos to TNA's always awesome fans, too...when the fire started, the extinguishers from the ceiling poured down and smoked up the ring. So what did the fans do? They started a "You can't see us" chant. Classic! |
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

So here are some details on the release of Kurt Angle: Basically, the man is completely fucked up in every way. His body is beat to hell way worse than even Steve Austin's was at the end of his career. In his last match against RVD, he tore his groin, pulled his abdominal muscle, and tore his hamstring. Yes, all three, in one match. In his personal life, he's going through a divorce right now. Backstage, he's becoming whiny and political, leading to not a lot of people liking him all that much anymore. On top of that, he got suspended a couple of months ago, and we don't even know why, all we know is that it was -not- a case of him being sent home for a month to rest. So basically, all of this piles up into WWE saying "Look, Kurt, we love you, but you're killing yourself." WWE fired Kurt Angle as a kindness to the man, and I honestly think they should be applauded for making such a tough decision. I really hope we see Kurt Angle back in a year or so, after he's had a nice, long rest. He's done enough for us, he deserves a break. |

Kurt Angle was the best wrestling had seen in such a long time. I'm really sad to see him go because I idolized him. I do however understnd that it is best for him to rest. he has a lot of personal isues like his addiction to pain killers....and the divorse with his wife (who is pregnent btw). untill untill he can fix everything in his personal life and rehab his injories he has to stay away. wrestling will not be the same without him and he will be missed....and if he does return I hope Vince keeps his word and allows Kurt to sighn a new contract right away. |

Kurt is probably THE BEST athlete to ever set into the WWE ring. He has been having neck problems though, since before Wrestlemania 19. If anyone can recall that far back, WWE scheduled a title defence between Angle and Brock Lesnar a few days before WM because it was thought that Angle was in no shape for the headline match. As it was he made it to the big match and disappeared to have his neck tidied up directly afterwards. Dr. Lloyd Youngblood is the neck specialist who operated on Steve Austin, Rhyno, Lita etc. etc, but Angle was told by him that he would need career-ending levels of neck fusion surgery. So instead to found a doctor in Pennsylvania who patched him up, but it was not a long-term solution, and his neck troubles have carried on ever since. |

Yeah, but it's been pretty well-known that Trish was on her way out since around June, so at least this one wasn't a shock. Trish at least is getting to leave in a much more graceful way. It's on her own terms, and she's leaving because A: She's accomplished basically everything you can accomplish in WWE, and B: She's getting married, and wants to spend some time at home for a time while she's still a newlywed. She's also 30 now, turning 31 soon, and while that's certainly not old for a wrestler, it is a bit older for a female wrestler. On top of that...you -know- she has to get pretty frustrated seeing people like Molly Holly, Gail Kim, and Jazz be replaced by people like Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson in the women's division. Anyway, I hope we see Trish back someday. Much like Kurt Angle is one of the all-time best workers ever (and I agree, he's definitely the best athlete ever in WWE), Trish is one of the all-time best female workers ever (and I would say that her only competition for the honor of best ever comes from Fabulous Moolah). |

I dunno. Torrie HAS improved substantially since I first saw her wrestle. Admittedly she's still not Lou Thesz, but she has improved one HELLUVA lot. |
