my post from ST.com unfortunatly this type of thing happens all to often, anyone that says it has to do with his "lifestyle" as a pro wrestler could not be farther from the truth. it happens more ofetn then not to other people in other carriers, to my knowledge this is the first time it has happened in pro wrestling. yes there was the murder of Miss Elizabeth and Lex Luger was suspected in that but this type of murder suicide is a first for the wrestling industry. it may very well have been over stress and marital problems among other factors though that is no excuse. i just don't think people should be so quick to judge the industry over one tragic event. much like the cop that killed his girlffriend and unborn daughter just recently people don't condem the entire police force over the actions of one man. |

Vince has handled this extremely well, with one exception that could prove to be terribly stupid in the long run. After the steroids were found in Benoit's home, WWE went into super defensive mode and listed all the reasons why it couldn't have been roid rage that drove Benoit to do this. Now if it turns out that it was, in fact, roid rage, then WWE has just made themselves look ridiculously guilty. Considering it was revealed today that Benoit was a customer of a seller of illegal steroids, that seems like it's more likely to become a possibility. On a similar note, while in no way do I think Vince McMahon should be villified for this...if it does turn out Chris Benoit was on steroids, then I think he has to shoulder at least a speck of the blame, as he creates a work environment in which people feel they need to have large bodies in order to have successful careers. Again, Chris Benoit's actions were his own, and I am not villifying Vince for that, and as soon as I see someone do such I am going to scream (because it will happen). I'm simply saying that if it turns out that way...Vince had damn well better accept responsibility for the fact that he drives his workers to use steroids. For now, though, I just want to state again that Vince McMahon has thus far handled an indescribably difficult situation very, very well. |
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

i just finished watching some of the tribute stuff on youtube and read some of the comments to the videos. for someone like me who does not follow any organized religion to see all the comments about Benoit in hell and all the evil hate filled comments no matter how emotional they might be i don't think is right. this was a man with some huge problems in his life and thought that is no excuse for what he did it should be a wake up call to the rest of the world. maybe somewhere in this world people will find a silver lining in this and start to understand that hate is never the answer. the only way we will ever coexsist on this planet is if we help eachother, and maybe something like this will be prevented in the future. |

I think the industry will have to shoulder some blame if they have created an environment in which it is impossible to work without drugs. And if steroids really played a significant part in this. I'm not convinced it will. This happens all over the place and the people involved aren't on steroids. This morning an article revealed that they had been giving the boy human growth hormone because they thought he was "small". Obviously the man had some deep rooted issues before the weekend. http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/6960688 |

You don't have to be a wrestler... This is a choice... The minute someone suggests that you start doing something that iyou know is wrong (like steroids)... Stop and do something else... I don't like people blaming others for the choices they make... I person could hand me steriods for free...and I would never take them... And I am in a profession that I would possibly do better if I was on them. It is a choice we all make to do right or wrong... |

There are plenty of WWE wrestlers who are small and don't use sterioids. Despite what you may think, using is not a requirement in the industry. |

I think that we're getting away from the bottom line here. A man killed his wife and child then killed himself. This is a tragedy and there is no fixing it. Regardless of why it happened or what the cause was, there are three dead human beings. This is senseless and tragic. My heart goes out to the survivors. |
