well there is no law that prohibits someone form taking steroids that i know of, they are redaly available by perscripion if you need them. it is the individual industry such as Major League Sports or Olympic Sports that have a ban on using preformance enhacing drugs. the difference between them and WWE is that those drugs are a mute point in WWE since the show is an exhibition not a compitition. and the use of them does not help them win the match unlike if someone in the NBA or NFL took them to build strength speed or agility.

The abuse of any controlled substance is illegal ask Rush Limbaugh.

With all the deaths that occur to wrestlers at a early age the government has a responsibility to investigate.

Wrestlers die young.

If an actor on a sports-themed TV show was caught, then no, congress would not investigate. On the same note, if one wrestler was caught, congress still would not be investigating. The reason that this is worthy of an investigation from congress is because it has been a problem that has plagued professional wrestling for years and lead to a remarkably large amount of wrestlers dying young.

This isn't an issue of whether or not wrestlers are using steroids to win matches, because obviously that is absurd. It's an issue that the industry does create an environment in which steroids are prevalent (whether intentionally or unintentionally, I'm not gonna debate that particular point right now), and then many wrestlers wind up passing away at an early age because of it.

On a related note, WWE has announced that an eleventh person has been suspended. My guess would be either Batista or Booker, since both their names have popped up on one of the related lists.

And on another related note, there was one retired performer who still worked for WWE that was on the list, and that was Simon Dean. Since he was now working in management, WWE has released him.
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

if there are congrestional hearings about wrestlers using or abusing steroids, why not a congrestional hearing about all the regular actors that are abusing illegal drugs, drinking and driving and not being suspened from the contractual obligations on a TV show or a movie. how is that any different, there has been a long long history of actors and singers over doseing or killing themselves or others do to drug use.

how come the mainstream entertainment industry is not being investigated for the rampent use of illegal drugs being used by actors and singers? you wanna know why, it is because pro-wrestling is an easy target to take on since people don't see it in the same light as the mainstream movie, TV and music industry. that and the fact that the mainstream industry is a multi billion dollar a year industry congress would not have a hope in hell of investigating them.

i think if they are going to investigate one form of entertainment then they should be investigating Paramount, Warner Borthers and all the other entertainment production companies about drug use by there actors or singers. as the old saying goes in for a penny in for a pound.

I don't disagree with you, BX. However, just because other forms of entertainment should be investigated and yet aren't, that doesn't mean pro wrestling shouldn't be. The fact is, while this does show prejudice towards wrestling, if ultimately it winds up saving lives, then it's a good thing.

More notes...

Eugene has been fired. No official statement as to why, but seeing as how he's been busted by the Wellness Policy before, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that's why.

Also...at this point it's just a rumor, so this might not actually be true...but word is a "top Raw name" has been released. Assuming it's one of The Ten, not too hard to figure out which one it is...

Cryme Tyme has been released, but it was due to an Incident at a house show with Cade and Murdoch.

As for the Hearing....despite the fact "roid rage" was rulled out, this might have something to do with Beniot killing his wife and kid, them himself, though in my personl opinion, the man had obviously had enough problems without drugs to make it worse...

This is without a doubt the best news I have heard in years.... What happened? Is anyone holding a parade or local celebrations?

But seriously what happened?

i do agree that something should be done, and i think in the last while we have seen the WWE in perticular take the head of the beast on with suspending if not out right fireing some of it's top talent.

I also think that there neds to be a universal sports entertainment record log of those that have been fired or other wise suspended do to exsesive drug use. and those people should not be allowed to be contracted to a company unless they can show that they are completely clean.

And if they violate a probation period after joining a different company then they should be terminated and banned from any company.

Something simallar should be put in place with the mainstream entertainment companies as well to get there actors and singers clean.

There contracts should be suspended if not canccelled if they fail drug testing as well.
