Beth could be the next Trish...

Other than the fact that she is kinda ugly. LOL

Let's face it guys, NOBODY thought Trish would become Trish. She was just another pretty face with big knockers. She trained and commited herself and she became something great. She was no further ahead in wrestling training when she started than Candace was.
Everything happens for a reason, but sometimes the reason is that you're stupid and make bad decisions.

Granted, but there are some other things to factor in. One is the "it" factor. Trish had it even before she became the wrestler she was later on, whereas I don't think Candice really does. More importantly, though, Trish was a legitimate wrestling fan growing up. She was well-versed with not only WWE, but also WCW and even ECW when she joined the company. She had a deep-rooted passion for the business which was a driving factor in leading her to become the talent that she was. To the best of my knowledge (and I could certainly be wrong), Candice didn't really have any interest in wrestling until the Diva Search. This isn't to say she won't become the next Trish, just that I personally don't think she will.

But I agree that Beth Phoenix won't be the next Trish, either. While I'm quickly becoming a huge fan of hers (and come on...Glamazon? How great is that?), I see her more as the next Molly Holly, in that she can be a super-talented cornerstone to making the women's division legit, but not the actual centerpiece that the whole thing is built around.

I agree with what you're saying about Candace not having the 'it' factor that Trish did. You knew from the first time seeing Trish that she was special. You don't get that feel from Candice. However, I did get that feel from Mikey. I think if they serious Mikey up a little, she can be just as good as Trish. They're just really playing the 'goof' card with her.

I see Beth Phoenix as more of a Chyna w/o the muscles, lol.

Is HBK coming back or is he out?

Edit: Just found this little tidbit. Has anyone heard about this?

08/17/07 Internet News - Chyna In Rehab, VH1 Filming Entire Process
Joanie "Chyna Doll" Laurer has checked herself into the Pasadena Recovery Center after suffering a relapse several weeks ago. Many news websites have reported Joanie has inked a deal with VH1 to turn her stay in rehab into a reality TV series, which has now been confirmed by her managers. "Joanie was already set to got to rehab when VH1 approached her about doing a TV deal". Anthony Anzaldo (Laurer's manager) said. "VH1 agreed to pay for Joanie's rehab if she allowed them to film certain aspects of her recovery. This is not an attempt to revive her career in anyway, this is an attempt by Joanie to get her life back together and when VH1 offered to pay for her entire rehab Joanie could not turn down the offer." Joanie recently appeared at the "Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav" very clean and sober, but her managers reported it was just a brief night out and Joanie still has several weeks to complete her recovery. Joanie will be appearing on "Nancy Grace" August 27 at 8 & 10pm on CNN to discuss drugs in professional wrestling and her own related issues.

As long as this isn't just a way for Laurer to get publicity, then good for her. I'll hold my tongue as far as further comment goes for now.

I agree that Mickie has the most potential of the current batch of Divas to be the next true breakout star. What I'm worried with as far as Mickie is concerned is that WWE tends to have a formula with their Divas. Step 1: Introduce a new woman to feud with the current champion. Step 2: Have said new woman eventually win the title. Step 3: Have her either lose it back to the previous champion, or wait until the next new woman comes along and lose it to her. Step 4: Fade into the background and get to come out for Diva Tag matches and Battle Royales. Usually, if you go through every step in that formula, you don't tend to get another shot to be a breakout star. Unfortunately, Mickie has now moved through the whole thing. I do hope she gets another shot, though, as I'd love to see what she could do as the centerpiece of the women's division.

HBK reportedly has been recovering quite nicely, and should be back in just a couple of months, probably somewhere around Survivor Series.

Just on a side note, I'm sure you all know that Ashely is on this season of Survivor. She came in all tough, thinking that her wrestling training would make her prepared for the show. Doh! She was violently ill the first night, burping and dry heaving, shaking and sweating. She was not only the only person to get sick but she was almost the first to get voted off because of it. She barely hung on. Why I find that amusing, I don't know. Just shows your fame and status get you nowhere on a remote island in China.

I won't rag on the wedding much, I think you guys probably already know how I felt about that segment. I do want to say, though, that the Godfather appearance was really fun. Always nice to bring out some familiar faces from the past.

Steroid news Steroid news rather than wrestling news, but you have to figure that it's all connected to the Benoit stuff.
What is the terror of death?
That we die, our work incomplete.
What is the joy of life?
To die knowing our task is done.
