MVP is the man. He's easily the most improved wrestler of 2007, having gone from somebody everyone just looked at as a gimmick with no real talent to one of the best in-ring performers AND characters in the company. MVP vs. Matt Hardy = money. Although, the finish of MVP vs. Rey was really lame. Edge is also incredible, the only performer in WWE who makes a better heel than MVP does. Keeping in mind that Edge, Batista, and Undertaker have all wound up having to lose the belt due to injuries (all within the last year, even), I don't think the fact that Edge got the belt because Dave was hurt really makes that big of a difference. Right now, it makes the most sense to put the belt on Edge, because it plays into the current storyline the best. Not to mention, and believe it or not, this is no disrespect to Batista, but right right now Edge is just plain and simple the best person to carry the SmackDown brand. However, I agree about the Vickie storyline. While the story makes a lot of sense for the Edge character, it's also really unsettling to watch. Jericho...as much as I love the guy, and I really do, his comeback has been a bit of a flop. The fans just aren't reacting to him. In part, that has to fall on him, but I think it has more to do with WWE creative completely dropping the ball with his return. It practically feels like they set him up to fail (but of course, that would be unheard of when it comes to WWE...), and thus, I actually wouldn't have put the belt on him either. But by the same token, the idea of leaving the belt on Randy Orton isn't much better... And poor Jericho. Even if his comeback isn't working like we'd all like it to, he deserves better than freakin' JBL. |
Once upon a time, a man lived. This man was a man who really lived. He was the best there was at what he did, living. Living is what he did, and he did it well. In fact, he did it too well. He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

Chris Harris and TNA have parted ways. I'm posting this here as opposed to the TNA thread because there has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of Harris making his way to WWE now. Well...that, and all of us wrasslin' fans actually read this thread, as opposed to the TNA one. Anyway, Chris Harris is one of the few names who has been with TNA literally since day one, having performed on the very first TNA show and never departing the company at any point until now. His greatest fame in TNA came as a member of America's Most Wanted, the focal point of TNA's tag team division for their first several years, and is generally regarded as the workhorse of the team (although since the team split up, his partner James Storm has seen more success due to his greater charisma and character skills). It'll be interesting to see both if Harris does wind up signing with WWE (while he isn't huge by any means, he definitely has the type of body that Vinnie Mac loves), as well as how successful he will be there (while his in-ring work is very good, he has never been able to get across a really strong character). Perhaps he has some great character skills just waiting to get out? |

The Harris Brothers aren't even in Chris Harris' league. Although, granted, anyone who was in the same league as the Harris Brothers isn't someone I'd get too excited about... |

Both WWE and TNA have been trying to fight off the move to HD, in that they've been worried that high definition might make it easier to see some of the little tricks the wrestlers do that you aren't supposed to see, and in particular that it wil be easier to see wrestlers calling spots in the ring. It'll be interesting to see if there's any basis to that. ...Although, due to my lack of HD, I'll have to leave it up to you guys to tell me if there's anything to that. |
