I doubt any of you 'boys' watch Project Runway but the assignment this week was for the designers to create an outfit for 6 Divas: Candace Michelle, Maria, Torrie, Michelle, Kristal & Layla.

Maria's designer won the contest so she'll be wearing his design in an upcoming match.

Smackdown' smacked down by CW network By FRAZIER MOORE, AP Television Writer
2 hours, 23 minutes ago

NEW YORK - Pro wrestling is getting smacked down by the CW network.

The long-running "Friday Night Smackdown" won't be airing on the CW this fall, the network and World Wrestling Entertainment said late Thursday. In separate announcements, they stated that "after a successful decade of `Smackdown,'" they had agreed to conclude their partnership after the 2007-08 season.

No reasons were offered.

WWE added that it began talks with other networks after the CW's exclusive period to negotiate a renewal ended Jan. 31. Although no details were disclosed for a possible new home for the show, candidates might include NBC Universal, whose USA cable channel already carries "WWE Raw," and MyNetworkTV, where some affiliates aired "Smackdown" when they were UPN stations.

The two-hour "Smackdown" premiered on then-fledgling UPN in fall 1999 as strategic counterprogramming on Thursdays. "Smackdown" gave UPN a foothold on that night of bruising prime-time competition, but even as a ratings contender, it proved to be a sometimes uncomfortable fit with UPN's image.

When UPN, owned by CBS, merged with Warner Bros.' WB in 2006, "Smackdown" seemed no less out of place on the resulting CW network.

I also see that WWE is finishing with Ohio Valley Wrestling as a Developmental territory. Now Jim Cornette can actually get back to running it after Vince fired him from his own company (according to Cornette).

So is it just me, or did Michael Cole and Coach prove last night that they're the worst commentary team in wrestling today? And yes, I'm including Mike Tenay and Don West, and calling an announce team worse than them is really saying something.

I'm watching SmackDown right now as I type this, and I just felt the need to type this after I heard it. Yes, I know how absurdly geeky that is.

Coach: "Shelton Benjamin is undefeated in ECW."
Cole: "That's ECW. This is SmackDown."
Coach: "Yeah, but..." long pause, as if he's reconsidering the ridiculously stupid comment he's about to make. He decides to make it anyway "Shelton Benjamin is undefeated on SmackDown as well."
Cole: Long pause, as though he's trying to figure out how to break it to Coach how stupid of a statement that was. Instead, he decides on "Shelton Benjamin has never wrestled on SmackDown before!"

Okay, let me first say, I can understand pretending somebody didn't exist prior to a major gimmick change. For example, I don't blame WWE for pretending that Umaga was not once upon a time a part of 3 Minute Warning as Jamal. I don't even blame them for semi-pretending that Big Daddy V didn't used to be Viscera. But...seriously, are we supposed to think that this Shelton Benjamin who is running around these days is a different Shelton Benjamin than the Shelton Benjamin who spent a good, long time on SmackDown, and in fact got famous on that show as a member of Team Angle? Or, does the bleached hair count as enough of a gimmick change that he doesn't count as that Shelton anymore?

Michael Cole has proven that he can be an absolutely incredible announcer when he's got a partner who knows how to make up for Cole's weaknesses (the Cole and Tazz team was better than JR and King, in my opinion), but the fact is when you put him in there with someone as clueless as Coach, you just have a complete mess. I demand a new SmackDown announce team! Or at least, a new color commentator.

Can I puke now? That Edge/Vicki thing just made me sick. I feel sorry for the people who paid good money to see the show ............... only to be made to sit through that bullshit. Gimme an f'in break. First of all, the wheelchair bit is sooo OVER. And Vicki is so damn ugly. You'd think with all the money WWE has they'd at least fix her damn teeth and lipo her face. I mean c'mon now. Do you really want us to believe that storyline? Besides the fact that Edge went from one horse face to another, it's totally ridiculous. And wtf are they doing to poor Teddy? They got the black man as a servant again, lol?

Gay all the way around.

Oh, and the whole McCool/Palumbo thing was also lame.

Maybe Edge just has a horse-face fetish, did ya ever think of that?

lol, In all seriousness, I agree about the segment last night. While Edge has been consistently awesome throughout this whole thing (and really, when is Edge -not- awesome these days?), and Vickie has turned into a competent heel, the whole storyline still makes me feel a little uneasy. Every time I see her, there's still that underlying feeling of "Y'know, this actually is Eddie's widow." The segment last night was just kinda goofy, but at least it wasn't as bad as Impact's Kurt and Karen Angle segment this week.

As for Custom Chucky P and Michelle McCool...I have to say, I'm really digging the Palumbo/Noble storyline. Since the MVP/Matt Hardy feud has been temporarily shelved due to Matt's injury, I think Chuck and Noble have turned into the most interesting rivalry going on right now (I would say Jeff vs. Orton would have rivaled it, but the only thing about that feud that was interesting was the fact that Jeff was so awesome. It takes two to make a good feud). However, last night kinda blew it. The weak link in the storyline is Michelle, who has to be the worst actress in all of WWE. Unfortunately, the part calls for a woman who can actually convey some sort of emotion. However, I do think Chuck was still awesome in the segment. He has developed into quite a good heel.
