From stranding her crew in the stupid delta quadrant just to help the okampa to forming an alliance with the borg when species 8473 could have finished the borg off...

She was a noble person, a humanitarian, a risk taker and most of all a scientist. She couldn't stand the thought of an entire planet being plundered by the Kazon. She smuggled telepaths through an area that was predjeduced against them. Most of all she had the interest of the crew at heart and did all that she could to bring them home. She was a very good captain, and her loyal crew more than made up for her shortcomings.

she made an alliance with the borg to get accross there space. 8472 were offended by everyone in normal space, pollution and waste of materials meant that even after they would've defeated the borg they would most likely, now with the techonology to get to normal space, gone after other species too. Helping the borg ensured safe passage to the end of their space and an end to a possable future conflict.... Yes it was a breach of the prime directive, but it didnt make her a bad captain.

i thought she was a good captain... she gave plenty of leave oppertunities, she made sure her crew were safe even if she didnt always put them first, e.g. the caretaker array. she had a few oppertunities to get home but she always let her morals get in the way.

Morals make a good captain, without them she wouldnt care about any of the crew or people she met... i think the quilities of Janeway make a good captian, one of the best seen in star trek so far.

But wasn't it revealed that species 8472 were retaliating because the borg had invaded fluidic space, attempting to assimilate them. They were seeking to wipe out the borg for their own self-preservation not everyone in the delta quadrant.

No?
