I was watching the first two seasons of Voyager and I was wondering where did the phage that affected the Vidiians come from? They said it affected their population for two millenia, but never said the orgin of the phage. Also I wonder if the Borg would ever find them Assimilation worthy, They do have superior medical technology. |

I don't know where it came from but the "Think Tank" does cure them eventually. So then they would probably be assamilation worthy. |

didnnt it come as an effect of there own medical tallents? they were immune to so much there bodies formed an immunity to cures so it then caused a desease or something like that, i think basically it was there medical knowlege that started it. |

even if the "Think Tank" had not cured them. their tech would probly be assimilation worthy. |

That's an interesting question. I must have missed the episode where they were cured. The Vidiians always freaked me out. |

there's no canon mention of the origins of the phage. But where do diseases come from....they just come around. Where did aids come from, where did cancer come from? It could have started as a viral thing that eventualy mutated into a genetic disorder, it could have started out as a genetic disorder, perhaps from lack of biodiversity on their planet (inbreeding) |
