Well i dont find him that bad to be honest. i do hate it in the beginning when he gets jelous way too easily, but apart from that i only get annoyed with him occasionally. he isnt the character that annoyes me most, i would say that the star trek's Jar jar binks would be Dr. bashier or Kes. they both annoy me.

looks wise though i see the match lol.

I liked Bashir!

Neelix was always so whiny.

This is true, thats why i hated him getting jelous. but BAshier was very whiney too, and really really pathetic generally until they gave him the plot twist of being genetically modded which was silly too.

YES! Except for the fact that he didn't dance around and stumble every freakin' step.

No, definitely not.

To compare Neelix with Jar Jar Binks is actually insulting to the Tallaxian. neelix had more depth and was definitely a better and more interesting chartacter than the silly Jar Jar Binks.

Neelix is a great Star Trek character with an interesting and tragic background story.

Despite losing his family in a terrible war, then drifting around without any cause and almost becoming a drug addict (according to the book "Pathways" by Jeri Taylor), he managed to survive and on Voyager he was always friendly, trying to do his best, to cheer up people and create a good atmosphere. OK, he could be annoying sometimes but it was a part of his charm.

Voyager wouldnt have been the same without Neelix.

I agree with Lynx. Neelix may not have been my favorite character on Voyager, but he was a valuable part of the crew and greatly influenced the crew's journey.

Jar Jar Binks didn't really do anything positive. Sure, he got the Gungans involved in the battle on Naboo, but that's about it. He was annoying, and really didn't add anything to the Star Wars universe. And the CGI isn't really all that great when you look back at it.

I'd saytahts quite a large thing to do... but apart from that i agree, fairly useless. he just kept being clumsy trying to provide comic releaf to the films, but it didnt really work, it just annoyed me.

Besides comic relief, if you want to call it that, they both had their respectful purpose. They were both annoying at times but were more or less crucial to the story. It might be a bit overkill, but I think I remember Neelix saving the day on an occasion or two and was actually quite usefull at other times despite his annoyances.

Senator Jar Jar Binks on the otherhand was responsible for introducing the proposal for giving emergency war powers to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine so he could more powerfully deal with the Separatists Movement. Unfortunately this is what eventually caused the downfall of the Republic and the birth of the Empire.
