On a "real" Trek series they couldnt just replicate everything , or else it wouldnt take years to build a Starship , they would just replicate one  :sarcastic:

Some things would have to be too difficult to just replicate ( what a holodeck does in conjuction with the transporter) .

They could build the part or instrument with parts made in the replicator , but the instument would most likely still have to be "real" to work properly

that's kind of what I was saying all along, that he can't just make a tool appear in his hand and have it be real, unless it was replicated and then beamed into this hand, which would kind of be overly complex and a waste of resources and power

OK then , we aggree

The Doc was well played by the excelent Rob Picardo , one shinning light in an otherwise dungheap that was VOY lol

Hey.....I liked Voyager.......(though I admit it had its problems....like those turdbuckets called Kes and Naomi)

darren you are arguing against yourself  :p

if he could just have any tool he needed kes would even be more useless.

I don't think that Kes could be anymore useless than she already was. :jack:

I agree that Kes was pretty useless in the beginning but once she began to develop her powers she was a badass in the end.

Also, as I devote myself to fully watching this series, I'm really liking Neelix. I don't care what you bashers say, his character brought a lot to this show.

The one you want to kill
All right Kes was a bad ass in the end and was a very powerful woman.

Neelix ...... it was so sweet they dumped him off on that rock in space.

Not even worth a photon torpedo.

Neelix ..... wanted to spend the rest of his life in a center of a dead rock in space.

Did not Kon wanted to give Kirk and company the same fate.

Have this feeling if Kon dumped Neelix on that dead moon, Neelix would say "thank you so much Mr Kon"

Kes got better then she was when she started yes, but her character never had the development or potention that Seven did, (that or the writers just didn't care to put in the work  )

and Neelix.... I guess he's one of those characters that you either love or you hate, every series sees to have a "hated" character (actually every one but TOS I think because I don't remember groups of people ever expressing extreme dislike for one of those characters  )
we want the old Kai! "bring sexy back, vote Classic Kai"

That 'rock in space' had the woman and child he loved on it. It also people of his own species there .......... two things that seemed very important to him. Love will move you to live almost anywhere. Don't be such a cynic. :spank:

why did the doctor have to use any medical instruments at all? why didn't they just appear in his hand when he needed them?

I never thought about it before...but I would say For the comfort of the crew...

Some dude coming at me with weird ass hands would freak me out.

when you are injured.. you may be delusional.. so a more naturally looking doctor would be best.
