Well, he looks younger than he is and it depends how old pike is in the movie .

If pike was say in his late 30's during the events shown in the pilot , then 14 to 15 years after that (just prior to Kirks taking over command) he would be about the right age fro Bruce Greenwood to play him .

The guy is awesome anyway , and along with Quinto and Eric Bana (not to mention Nimoy) probably the best of the cast .

He's a great actor. He was good in I, Robot. Little concerned about the age as well, though. He looks his age.

Hadn't heard about Rider. Is that official?
