JJ has answered several fan questions about he new film, the summery of which you can find here:

http://www.flixster.com/news/2008/01/26/jj...-trek-questions

"TrekMovie users got the chance to get answers to their questions about the upcoming "Star Trek" movie. Some of the staff on hand were director JJ Abrams, producer Bryan Burk, producer/co-writer Roberto Orci, VFX supervisor Roger Guyett and actors Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. Here are some of the highlights:

* The first trailer is being worked on right now, and will appear in theaters early to mid summer.
* Production is scheduled to wrap in the beginning of April.
* Different versions of the teaser have been released around the world, to not make the film seem overly American.
* Abrams' buddy Greg Grunberg turned down the chance to be in the movie, due to another project.
* The movie has about 1,000 visual effects shots.
* Whenever possible, actual sets are being used instead of green screens. "

And there a a much longer and more in depth interview here:

Enjoy.

I can't wait to see the second trailer.
Hopefully it won't be as much of a "teaser" as the one currently out there.Posted Image

At least we know from that small trailer though that we can expect most of the enterprise to look fairly similar to what we are used to... it looked really good!

Is it me though, or does the entire trailer give of the feel of a "darker" film than trek normally is?

Those two statements lead me to believe a lot of space shots.
