That's definately it When the hacker stopped by we all started logging in using the IF link instead of the startreknexus one and the same thing happened . Since the hackers crap was removed we can all safely use thestartreknexus link again and i changed the new posts link back to use that domain as well . Phew , i hope that made sense

not neccessarily... I've NEVER had a problem ever, I've been logged in here since I came back, never logged out, never had to log back in, I've just always remained logged in, even through the hacker thing I was still logged in I use the original default address, the z13 one (actually the s13 one to be more accurate) that I've had in my favorites since this site was created, I don't use the domain name even though the URL switches to it once I hit the TNP link, so if it was simply the switching of addresses I'd be logged out constantly, but I'm not the only way I could see a URL switch causing her problem would be if her DNS cache is messed up, which could be fixed by going Start>Run> typing "cmd" in the dialog box and then hitting enter then in the command prompt type "ipconfig/flushdns", hit enter then type "ipconfig/registerdns", hit enter, this will purge the DNS cache and then reregister the DNS names that solution's kind of overkill, but if all else fails it's worth a try (and if THAT doesn't work then it's not her computer's fault, her ISP maybe, but not her's) |

Well using that link and then logging in seems to have made the TNP work for me. That's interesting that Darren doesn't have any trouble with that. Maybe that is some crazy Vista security measure

or it could be your networking adapter's faulty DNS cache (then again, MS did radically change the networking stack in Vista from how it was in XP.. so that could be an accurate statement that it's just a weird vista thing )

I have come to accept that sometimes Vista does strange things and I am not meant to know the reasons

perhaps the whole point of Vista is it's one step towards usable A.I.s? since it apparently has a mind of it's own to some extent |

Well, Heather fixed mine just by changing the address, and the site seems to be loading a little faster for me. I use this one now... http://thestartreknexus.com/index.php?act=idx |
