If you enjoy the classic top-down shoot-em-up format, then this game is an absolute steal at this price. This is one of the finest shooters that I have ever played on Xbox Arcade (though it originally appeared on the Sega Dreamcast). You don't get special weapons in the traditional sense. Instead, you can change the polarity of your ship to absorb enemy fire of the same polarity. Doing this charges up a homing laser weapon for you to use. You can also deal double damage to enemies with opposite polarities and this requires careful switching on your part from being able to absorb enemy fire to being able to inflict extra damage. Note - If you want an easier game you will have to go into the menus and give yourself some continues and adjust the difficulty. On the default setting, this game has no continues and may be a bit much for first time players. Edited by Dark Founder, Jul 13 2009, 10:00 PM.

It's very much in the style of Galaxians, which is a classic game and one I played for hours. Don't know if I could get back into it now, but I might give it a try. |

You could try out the free trial version first. It's more intense than Galaxian. Mainly because both types of energy are often on the screen at the same time. You can absorb one type but will be destroyed by the other and at the same time you're trying to avoid colliding into the enemy ships or other structures. |
