Street Fighter IV - $20

This has been a widely discussed deal, but in case anyone missed it, Gamestop is selling new copies of Street Fighter IV for PS3 and Xbox 360 for $19.99 each. I think that this sale is good until August 2nd. The game will still probably be priced at $59.99 but it should ring up for $19.99 at the register.

Caveat - Gamestop has a habit of opening up the game cases and removing the discs only to replace them when the game is purchased. If you're a collector and a sealed game case is important to you, you may have to "settle" for an opened case.

people collect sealed video games?
Everything happens for a reason, but sometimes the reason is that you're stupid and make bad decisions.

Some people do. Some NES games sell for a couple of hundred dollars if the box is included and for much more if the game is still sealed.

I still have a number of sealed games that I bought during Best Buy's $10 sale a while back. They aren't sealed for collector value so much as that I haven't gotten around to playing them yet.

what is the point if they are sealed?

Its one thing to collect a comic in a sealed polybag that (used to) wind up being worth a bundle over time, while being able to buy another at release time for $1.25 (price at teh time or so when I stopped getting them)

but video games cost too much to buy two just to leave one sealed.

You cant expect 110% from others, when most times, they don't expect even 90% from themselves. -- Me.

Apparently some people value them enough to pay big bucks. I'm watching an auction for a TurboDuo and right now it's up to $300 which is what the system cost seventeen years ago.

As for why I leave games sealed, it's a matter of time. Between work and school, I don't have much time for games these days so I'll buy a game on sale and leave it on the shelf until I have a chance to play it later.
