So 3D cinema was tried and tested, and failed about 30 years before I was born. Maybe it was too soon, maybe the technology was not good enough.

The cinema I work at now has 3 3D screens out of the 6 that we have, and its selling tickets in the shed load. I think its safe to say now is the appropriate time for 3D films.

There are another 12 coming out this year alone!

So I watched Alice in wonderland the other day in 3D, which didn't seem to use the effect to its full advantage, but it was immersive and fairly damn good. It doesn't beat Avatar for progression or immersion though.

What are the 3D films you have seen and where do you think they've gone right?

I havn't seen any. We don't watch a lot of movies in theatres. My theory though is that they are putting all these 3d movies out because you have to go to a theatre to see them.

That would be my guess, but it still wont do it for me if its still going to be a $60 night.

I might....MIGHT....catch a huge blockbuster must-see type film, where the effect might be worthwhile, but it would have to be extremely interesting....and not suck....$60 is a lot of cash for something to suck, 3D or not....still far better off waiting to watch it in 2D at home.

You cant expect 110% from others, when most times, they don't expect even 90% from themselves. -- Me.

Thats true, I hadn't though of that. It is currently impossible to pirate a 3D film which will still be 3D when viewed. Over here it costs about £9 to see a 3D film, when buying the glasses too, so I guess that would be about $18? Its a lot of money to us though and I feel almost criminal charging itto customers.

Clash of the Titans is the next big 3D release, which will either be the best thing I will see this month, or the bigest dissapointment this year.
