To what? Being allowed to bobble it all the way down to the ground? What would be the limits to the extreme in order to arbitrate it? As long as you have at least one finger on it when you are down? |

I did not see a bobble. If you watch the slow motion portion of the video that I posted, you will see that he had control of the ball before he landed. If there was an obvious bobble, the ref who called it a touchdown would not have done so. Also, in slow motion, you will see him have control of the ball with one hand before he let it go to break his fall. |

The rule doesn't need to go through any major changes, but I have a hard time looking at that play and not seeing the Detroit Lions having a fantastic touchdown taken away from them. To me, as soon as Calvin Johnson had come down in bounds and had maintained control of the ball the entire time, that should be enough for the touchdown. And as Shran said, even after he had moved it to just one hand, he was still maintaining control. |

He lived so well that he made other people stop living. That is why he had to be stopped. To stop him, they sent Rimo.

Did you even see the catch? There was no bobbling. It was a solid catch and solid grip afterwards. |

I was responding more towards the general point of GLTuvok's statement of the need for the rule to change, not the specifics surrounding the actual catch in question....I was looking bigger picture, league-wide as a whole. and for the record, No. I did not see the game or the catch. Unless its a Giants or Jets or MNF or ThNF game, I dont get to see it unless local broadcasting covers it. I have no vested interest or any care in the Lions or the Browns, so I was just talking objectively. |

Well, football season is upon us once again and for the 16th year i have no team to root for here in L.A. (Chargers? Go suck an egg!) To make matters worse, the one local college team i give 2 cents about has been sanctioned by the NCAA over some BS. No more post season no matter how good they play (results against Oregon teams notwithstanding). So what am i left with besides the overwhelming desire to send a hit squad out to Al Davis' house? Not a whole lot. So why am I typing this? No idea, just to say im pretty jealous of fans of even the crappiest team in the NFL cause at least they have a season to play. L.A. is the second biggest city in the U.S., the second biggest media market of the U.S., but the only facilities we have to offer were built 88 years ago. Whats up with that? We need a new team. Hell, I'd even take the Rams back if their new owner was inclined to bring them back. Just not the Chargers, and they did move, please change the name. anyways....... I thought you guys were building a new stadium and were likely to be getting a team out there sometime in the next couple years. Jags make the most sense to me. They don't draw flies out there, makes sense to move them to a much, much bigger market. |

The City of Industry Stadium has been talked about for years. The way I understand it is we need to get a Football team to commit to coming to L.A. then they will start building. That's not how NFL has been wanting to do it, they want the stadium first, then they will consider talking about moving or creating a team. That's how i understand it anyways, one way or the other one party is going to have to give in. |
