I usually don't start feeling attachments until I learn the players names.
Me too. Once you watch the same team a few times you get to know the players and their strengths and weaknesses. You also start to become familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the team itself and can predict things. I find that's when watching sports is the most fun!

I do the same thing with politics. I wonder if i can social engineer.
I was heavy duty into Politics around 9/11. I watched the election of 2000 around the clock. Then when the World Trade Center was hit I watched the news all day long. I even realized how they "leaked" information, right before there would be a significant press release, etc.

I watched Ari Fleischer and Don Rumsfeld every day, with the daily briefings. Unfortunately, it was my obsession with it is what made me gain a lot of weight. But I definately knew what was going on in the world.

Cleveland Indians, and Formula 1.

(Oh, and tennis, but only when Maria Sharapova's playing (and Emily isn't around)).(Maybe the Olympics/Winter Olympics too).

When I was in college I thought about trying out for the special team... It was the only part of the team with walkon's available.
