Ever heard of the Arena League, Denny?
Everything happens for a reason, but sometimes the reason is that you're stupid and make bad decisions.

Football IS an outside sport, but there are also outdoor basketball courts and hockey rinks, so by that logic, those sports should also play in adverse weather conditions as well. When people are getting paid THAT much to play and fans are paying THAT much to go to the games, then outside weather should not be a factor in the progress and outcome of the game.
Does this mean we have to build giant indoor racetracks for stock-car drivers or huge indoor golf courses for the pros? Football is an American pastime steeped in tradition much like the other major professional sports and part of that is enduring the elements. Physical toughness, sheer force of will, overcoming mother nature. Brett Favre, standing, breath frosty as the snow falls on the hard ground at Lambeau Field. This is a challenging image to an opponent, a obstacle that must be overcome. This is what football is about, competition, passion and heart. They get paid a lot of money, yes, but to do what they love and what we love to watch; so maybe once in a while they put up with a little bad weather and earn that pay and make a memorable night worth watching.
Meh.

Golf is crap, and I have no need or interest in 50 rednecks driving 500 miles in a left-turning circle.

Football seems like a high paying sport but thats because it only has a 16-game regular season.
Baseball pays insane amounts, but they like play like 160 games, Basketball also pays pretty high and plays around 80 games in its regular season. So if you look at it from a dollar amount versus games played, Basketball is the highest paying sport out there - and they play in a closed stadium.

Football stadiums probably have the highest capacity - lets cover them up, and do it properly - the Giants and Vikings played in Detroit because the Minnesota Stadium roof collapse, and tickets were free from what I understand.

You cant expect 110% from others, when most times, they don't expect even 90% from themselves. -- Me.
No matter how hard your day, no matter how tough your choices, how complex your ethical decisions, you always get to choose what you have for lunch.

Metrodome = fail. This is the fifth collapse, but we've managed to "keep it up" since 1986, so yay for that.

I think that teams that play in states where the majority of the season is during a time of frequent poor weather certainly benefit from domed stadiums, or stadiums with retractable roofs. As poorly designed as the dome is, it makes more sense for MN than a totally open stadium. A retractable roof would really be ideal for sports like baseball and football, but for stuff like lacrosse, basketball, and hockey? I would never go to those games if they were outside.
