The beta is out to play now Link

Positives:
Its pretty decent, and free to play at the moment.
The game is a strange one though - its played through the browser (fairly good use of a browser's abilities though) and the graphics are acceptible.
The cross-species fighting is awesome and taking control of a vast ammount of sectors leads to some interesting PvP
Lots of missions
Familiar faces.
Brilliant use of HUD
Original and series music.

Negatives:
Shit controles (really clumsy)
The CiC looks like a painted arse, not modelled on the actual CiC
The missions are buggy, if you fail at any stage you have to do the whole thing again (but it is in Beta Testing I suppose)
Crappy PvE fighting.
The shops and level systems need a lot of tweeking.

Anyhoo check it out and let me know what you think.

Dont be surprised if they dont correct that. Star Trek Legacy for PC (and probably for console) had the same problem and you needed the Ultimate Universe Mod in order to save within a mission, or skip past a mission that was difficult to get beyond, and you didnt feel like starting it over from the beginning everytime
