Cougar Jealousy

I read some random blog where a young woman was complaining about how threatened she was by a perceived, "Cougar Trend." What with women looking younger these days and having more money to bear. She believed that all these evil cougars would be making an already difficult dating environment even worse. My answer to her is: Since cougars have a tendency to go after nicer and more masculine looking young men, I doubt that most young women's dating prospects would be harmed.

But her blog has a point. It does take out more of the nicer more masculine looking young men, and those are the guys even the younger women will want to go after. Some of those guys will get caught up in a cougar trap and end up wasting a lot of time.

Honestly, I find it much easier to pick up a guy in my 40's than I did in my 20's. It's the maturity and the confidence I think.

The majority of younger women want to go out with girly looking assholes. By the time they get over that the men will have either left their cougars, or the cougars died off.

Really? That's new to me. My husband is 6'4" dark hair and a very muscular build. That was always the type I went after, even in my 20's, which is when I met him.

I once picked up a guy in a dance club. He bought me a gin and tonic and we talked for a little while. He told me I seemed like a really great girl, but he had a girl friend, who he was in a fight with. I told him I thought he was very nice as well, thanked him for the drink, and wished him luck. That was the end of that. When I met my husband he reminded me of this guy. That guy and his wife (that same girlfriend) are now our best friends.

I was also dating a guy who came home and complained one of his truck drivers hit some guy from behind. He said the guy was just my type and would be perfect for me. That guy turned out to be my husband, who I met several years later.

I swear my life unfolds like a well written novel, complete with foreshadowing.

But anyway, if a guy is sincere about wanting to settle down, he really won't go for the cougars.

Ok, that's you. Notice that I use words like "majority." You are also one of few couples who have actually stuck together. The vast majority of women pursue assholes and continue to pursue assholes even after dumping previous assholes. They eventually marry an asshole they think they can stand, but they end up divorcing him anyway. A cougar has finally realized assholes are not the way to go, and they actually want to have sex too. I mean, why would I worry about younger women that only want an asshole anyway? If they were serious about setling down, they wouldn't go out with assholes.

Younger women do make bad choices most of the time. But if you give it a chance and find the right one, you'll be OK. And if they are going for the assholes, then they aren't worth it anyway, so no loss there.
