I sometimes let one of my dogs sleep with me, especially when it's cold. I guess he is thinking the same thing. But they get in and out of bed a lot. That really bothers me. They also try to get under the covers and often need help doing so.
There another reason why you shouldn't let Ur pets sleep beside you >
Don't sleep with your pet, you may catch something (possibly bubonic plague)

Among the more serious medical problems animal lovers risk by snuggling up to their pets are chagas disease, which can cause life- threatening heart and digestive system disorders.

Cat-scratch disease is another problem. It can come from being licked by infected felines, and can cause lethal damage to the liver, kidney or spleen.
A nine-year-old boy from Arizona even caught the plague because he slept with his flea-infested cat, according to the report. And a 48-year-old man and his wife repeatedly contracted antibiotic-resistant MRSA from their dog because it ‘routinely slept in their bed and frequently licked their faces’, the researchers said.

:o I'm really hoping that the chances for those kinds of things are slim if the dog is truly a domestic pet and doesn't venture out.

My friend's dog just goes outside in my yard to do his business, then lies down on my deck in the sun. It's not like he roams the neighborhood or anything, so I can't imagine that he would pick up those kinds of illnesses. :fingers:

He sleeps in bed with my friends or one of their kids, so that's what he's used to. When he comes here I treat him the same way. As a result, he's gotten totally used to my house and considers it his second home. He falls right into a routine when he stays with me.

The only reason I don't let my pets sleep with me it that it seems that I always seem to allow it on a day when they get the s**ts or something equally disgusting and then I have to clean it up. Also, one time my big, black lab Jake shit all over the room and i woke up and it was all I could smell OMG I threw up a little in my mouth. Another time the big dummy crawled into my bed while I was asleep and pissed all over the bed.
"Hey dad, I just remembered something from when I was a baby." "Really son? What was it?" "I just remembered I wanted to punch you in the face."

"He was a thief, and a terrorist."On the other hand he had a tremendous singing voice."
"Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades."
"Mom's just worried they're gonna rip my heart out."

Give that Roo a beer

Our male cat sleeps with us the female usually sleeps with one of the kids - sometimes the big Ginger sleeps with the kids but it's rare - they usually sleep at the foot of our(kids) bed

But when it gets a little chilly (which is rare as it doesnt get that cold here) they get right up inbetween us

On those article websites people comment that folks who let their pets sleep with them are trying to make their pets like people. I don't see it that way. I don't let people sleep with me, and I know that dog/wolf packs sleep in dog piles. So, I'm actually letting them carry their instincts through. Oh, speaking of stupid cha cha questions: Why does my beagle sit so close to me?

I need my sleep, so if putting the dog in bed with me keeps him from crying/moaning/barking at night, then I'd prefer that. It was the same way with my kids. I used to let them sleep with me too. Anything to get a good nights sleep.
