How do you access this site? I use www.thestartreknexus.com but that hasn't been working the last few days. I got a message from Pay Pal in the fall saying that our domain name has been renewed another year. Why doesn't this work? Am I the only one that uses it?

From time to time it just doesn't work, and you have to use s13.zetaboards.com. I like to use thestartreknexus.com however.

I've been using the s13.zetaboards.com because thestartreknexus.com wasn't working. Problem with the host or it hasn't been refreshed yet, perhaps.

Also, wasn't there debate on weither it should be nexustrek.com, which is why thestartreknexus.com was chosen? Just curious. I don't recall.

Also:

The domain has been renewed. It expires 5/26/2014.
The nameservers are set to:
Nameserver: YNS1.YAHOO.COM
Nameserver: YNS2.YAHOO.COM
This makes me think it is using Yahoo's hosting platform. Are they paid current with them?

You mean with Yahoo? I didn't know there was a fee for that as well. But that confirms that the domain name has been paid for.

I have a bookmark for the Zeta way in, but I'm pissed because the domain name is paid for and should be working. :angry3:

one of those names expired a couple months back, don't remember which. I have a FAVORITES set up with the s13 address. If i'm on an unfamiliar computer, I just google nexustrek and the link pops up as the first result.

Incidentally, someone needs to update the domain registration information. It's still shows as Raj's contact info.

When I ping thestartreknexus.com obviously this is the result:

ping: cannot resolve thestartreknexus.com: Unknown host

I don't know what is going on with Yahoo's name servers but this is the result:

PING yns1.yahoo.com (xxx.xxx.x.xx): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from (xxx.xxx.x.xx)
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
...repeats (protocol number just keeps going 1,2,3..)
or this altogether:
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
...repeats

I believe I saw a "destination unreachable" or "no reply" result last night on a friend's computer but I didn't log it so I'm not sure. Ping from your location(s) and check the results.

Then do this:

Quote:

The domain is using Yahoo's name servers, but they are not pointing to Zetaboards.

The simple fix would be to log into the domain registrar ("MELBOURNE IT, LTD. D/B/A INTERNET NAMES WORLDWIDE") and change the name servers to use the registrar's name servers instead of Yahoo's.

Once that is done, update DNS records at the registrar as follows:
http://docs.zetaboards.com/domains/setup

Section "Pointing the Domain to the Server".

s13.zetaboards.com/nexustrek isn't doing it for me anymore either.
