Considering the risk, would you let your sons play? I'm on the fence. It's sad but what do you do; add more medical coverage? This is what these guys are good at and yet they can become casualties of their own profession. It's a risk. Who should pay when they end up with a permanent disability? Of course it's not just football. Boxing is almost a sure-fire way to sustain brain injury. Look at how much footballers alone have changed. The gear and players dwarf the ones of old.

An article posted by Kevin Brooks on G+.
"Would you like to talk about what's bothering you or would you like to break some more furniture?"

"My car just hissed at me. There's steam coming out of the engine"

"Was it the coffee? Are we gonna go too, just like the captain?" "I know what time it is, I don't need a bloomin' cukoo clock"

Anything you do has a risk of injury. Even working over-time in an office job has serious long-term medical consequences. The folks who play sports are well paid for their efforts. However, lately I have been changing my mind with kids football. I think lately there has been a pussification of children's play time, but seeing the autopsy of football players' brains... Yikes. They look worse than a fighter's actually. That guy who slaughtered his family for no reason comes to mind. The brain was significantly disintegrated like a flesh eating disease had attacked it. So yeah... Nebulous answer.
Every Republic has its sins, but communism is a joke that is not funny. Get fluoride out of the water!
We both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

This is how I feel also.

I never really had a problem with football, but lately it seems that they are discovering it's worse than they originally thought. I also agree that professionals are paid well enough that it's worth the risk. But how many kids will really make it to the pro's?

Yep. Good points all around. I think there should be more effective treatments after the fact but as far as preventatives, there's only so much protection that you can add before it just becomes undoable/unplayable. 6 of one, half a dozen of another.
