See, I told you all it's smart to be prepared for emergencies. Keep stocked on water, food, radios, and harsh weather clothing. Take that, Hedo.

This is true.

We've had a couple of nasty storms in the last few years that has us keeping our supplies up. We even bought a backup generator.
Lighten up, Francis

I actually found out about Boulder's flooding from my friend, in prison in CA. She didn't know how far that was from me. I was like, "Huh? What's happening in Boulder?" We got floods here too but they got it worse. I live next to Fountain Creek so it's a concern for me but that creek would have to rise 18-20 feet to flood my building.

I have thought about buying a genny but I live in an apartment so I don't know how that works. I also live next to 2 emergency food banks and an emergency veterinarian not that those are much comfort. I do however plan on buying a back power supply at least for the fridge and computers. I have bought rations in the past but haven't in years.

Thankfully my storage unit is on the second floor so if that gets flooded, there's still a slight chance for saving the stuff in it. I still keep a lot of stuff in totes even at home so a few inches of water won't damage anything inside. At least it will hold long enough to transport them if there's time.

I'm not a big believer of generators myself. They are cantankerous and the fuel runs out pretty quickly. If you are worried about cold weather, the best thing to do is to buy clothing, wool blankets, and have serious cold weather rated sleeping bags.
