A generation of dependent children

All about the fish tacos

My kids are in high school. They have mid terms this week.

I got a recorded call on MY cell phone from the school reminding me that the math midterm will be given tomorrow and that my kids can go to the library to borrow a calculator if they don't already own one.

I mean seriously? The high school feels it necessary to call the parents with this? If a high school kid is unable to remember firstly, that they have a math midterm and secondly, to go to the library to borrow a calculator for the math mid term if he/she doesn't have one, then he/she does not deserve to pass the test anyway. :hedo:

I swear we are raising a generation of totally dependent human beings. :frust:

Yeah, and I am a boomerang kid myself. Of course, I am working and going to school simultaneously.
Every Republic has its sins, but communism is a joke that is not funny. Get fluoride out of the water!

And that's awesome.

Meanwhile, I just came home from work and my kids left my front door wide open for God knows how long. The thermostat is right next to the door and it's 18 degrees outside. So of course the heat has been running. :sarcastic:

Me too, Pondy.

I've worked very hard my entire life and I'm getting really tired.

So to watch these kids prance around like they are all that on someone else's back drives me crazy.

funny, I remember being pretty scatter brained when I was a kid. I was also pretty self involved and so were most of my friends. But back then it was just being a kid. It wasn't a sign of the coming apocalypse.

We have to remember what people thought of the Boomers too. First they lectured their patents, now they lecture us.

Exactly.

Don't forget that critical thinking has been fading out too.

Maybe I'm just bitter because I had to WORK for everything, while it seems to come easy for others.
