Medieval Child of Witchcraft

Alice looked at Cicero and it seemed that her hysterical laughter and crying stopped almost instantly at that point. "Perhaps...," she said, wiping her face with her sleeve. "Can I, she started, sniffling, "can I just ask you a question?" She looked him in the eyes and took a deep breath. "Why are you so uncomfortable during... I don't know what to call it... serious situations?" she asked, hoping that was what she had been trying to say. Shrugging she looked away, not entirely sure what answer she was expecting or if anything would come of it, but right now she didn't feel like being so vulnerable. |

Cicero smiled happy to see her stop crying. But as she asked her question he looked away "Hmph, is it that obvious?" he began to fiddle with the ring around his middle finger, "I'm not quite sure, it's just one of those quirks some people have I suppose. Also I'm not to accustomed to having to comfort crying women..." he smiled, "we're normally having fun~" he laughed lightly, "I should really stop all that if Carmen only knew how much I got around she'd kill me." his smile lessened some then, "But then again...I might never see her again for her to even get the chance to find out." He looked at Alice, "Oh, its not what you think. We're not married or anything...it's complicated." he sighed deciding to drop the matter. "We probably should be heading back to camp? Not that we have to actually do anything around here..." |

She laughed at his comment and remained neutral as he spoke of Carmen. Shrugging slightly, she looked forward. "Well, doing what I used to do for a living... marriage didn't bother me in the slightest," she said, casting him a sideways glance and smirk. She got up on her tip-toes and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for not being an ass," she said simply and taking a deep breath. "To camp," she said simply, smiling slightly. |

He put out the effort to half smile at her first remark, but retorted nothing, which was actually unusual for him. Then she kissed him and he couldn't help but fully smile at her and touch his cheek as he did so, "No problem." he replied quietly. He watched her move, and then quickly followed behind her, "...to camp." he smiled, his eyes hungry. ( God...I love characters that have amusing flaws. ) The trees almost immediately began to thin as they made their way out. Then, suddenly Cicero stopped and pointed out at the sea line, "Look." he whispered. Out right off the cost of the island another island had appeared. It was different then the first, smaller and with far less trees. Cicero stood there looking, actually, quite stunned, "This is...ah," he turned to Alice, "We have a raft now! Lets go to that island!" he said, his eyes gleaming. He didn't seem worried about the idea of this island disappearing too, as far as he was concerned at this point, you could get anymore lost then they already where. |

((Who doesn't??)) A man with now slightly disheveled hair and clothes grasped a tree to catch his breath. He hasn't been doing anything really except sleeping on the couch in the office when he woke up here. Fixing his black jacket and reddish hair, he looked around intently. Suddenly he heard Cicero's voice and noticed Alice walk into view. Smirking slightly he made himself seen and waved. "Ah! Hello there!" he said, his smile crinkling his eyes slightly. He watched them intently as if searching for something in particular. Alice looked at the new island and stared. "This island is strange...," she admitted, tugging the jacket slightly closer to her. She was about to say more when a new man appeared out of no where and she jumped slightly. "Oh... hello," she said, her golden eyes looking him over and rather liking what she saw. She smiled and flashed her eyes but said nothing more. |

Cicero's smile waned a little as Alice seemed less exited at the thought of going off to explore. Then he saw Alice's gaze shift and a mans voice, so he turned to see the newcomer. He felt a slight twinge, remembering just seconds before how Alice reacted to the man but quickly overcame that momentary emotion and his regular hospitality took over. "Ah hello!" Cicero beamed at him, walking over, "Are you ok sir?" he asked, noting his less then pristine appearance, "The name's Cicero," he continued offering a hand in welcome, "and this is Alice." |

Smirking at Alice's obvious thoughts and Cicero's momentary reaction, he reached a hand out to Cicero. "I'm just fine... just lost my bearings when I appeared on an island I was no where near," he said, fixing himself up easily. "I'm Patrick and it's a pleasure to meet the both of you," he said, nodding and offering a hand to Alice. He simply smiled and said nothing else. Alice missed Cicero's waning smile and twinge, and therefore did not try to fix it. She turned her golden eyes to Cicero as he answered for her but shook Patrick's hand. She did not entirely understand this custom but figured it was the polite thing to do. After the formalities were concluded, he placed his hands in his pocket, looked around and then turned his gaze to Alice and Cicero. "So when are you from?" he asked, having no doubt that they were from completely different time periods. |

Cicero smiled, shaking the strangers hand. He liked this man, mostly because he was similar to him. He had already met far to many people that were unhinged by coming to this island, and still had no idea what was happening and didn't do much speculating. He knew the man was taking in the both of them and he didn't hide the fact that he was analyzing the man, Patrick, himself. When Patrick asked his question, Cicero looked over to the side as if his remark triggered a memory, it was unclear how he felt about it however because it lasted for less then a second before his gaze returned to Patrick and he smiled, "1990's, going on the 21 century... It's nice to see in at least one time line we make it." he laughed. (I just realized that Patrick's ability to analyze is something Cicero sort of has himself, of course he's not on the same level of skill as Patrick, I wouldn't want to intrude on that lol) |

"Ah, I figured as much," Patrick said, nodding. He then turned to Alice and gave her a once-over. "I'd say... oh, medieval times?" he said, placing a finger to his lips. Alice looked taken aback. "Oh really, now how did you guess that?" she asked, looking at her appearance and knowing full well that he couldn't guess that easily. Patrick smiled and shrugged. "Well I know that your clothes aren't your own but borrowed, probably from another person stranded on this island. Also your posture and reluctency to respond as one would in the present to other people makes it quite obvious... although your 'profession' does not add up to the time period," he said smirking brightly. Alice looked confused. "Alright, that doesn't seem to make sense, but what do you mean my 'profession'?" she asked, unhappily. "Ah, well I'd rather not say... but I suppose if you'd prefer, then to be rather kind about it, a prostitute," he said, not really caring about what the reaction would be. Then he added, "But it's not what you were meant to do, nor what you always did before your father died." Alice blushed and looked rather pissed off but said nothing, knowing it was true. "And... how do you know that?" she asked, bitterly. "No, nevermind," she said, putting her hands up and looking away. There were tears in her eyes and she felt all sorts of strange feelings at the moment. ((Yeah I noticed that too, I realized it recently)) |

All Cicero could really do was watch, his head bobbing back and forth. A small smile crawled up his face and his eyes were wide taking it all in. Although when Patrick mentioned her profession, at first his smile held, but then soon faded, as the conversation deepened and hit a tone with her prostitution and dead father. His expression softened as he saw Alice tear up, feeling the pull that he should have jumped in sooner. He stepped toward Patrick, "O..K...huh. I would have figured a person would need to talk longer then that for a stranger to know such private things..." he said one eyebrow up, then he flexed his fingers, "Would you like to come with us then?" Cicero asked Patrick, not bothering to mention the island, catching on to his ability to pick things up. Then turned to Alice, "...If that would be ok?" |

He took a step back and put his hands up in defense. "Ah, sorry. When you do what I do for a living, you can tell everything from just the way someone moves," Patrick admitted. He agreed that the time for the delving into the past was over and looked toward the island. He looked at Alice and smirked slightly. "I apologize for being so blunt... but you did ask," he said, attempting to apologize. Slowly Alice turned back to the two men. "I don't give a damn what he does," she said bitterly. "And I suppose it's alright," she said, not sure exactly how to respond to his attempt. "Good, now let's go to figure out that island," he said, back to his chipper self. Beneath that happy exterior, he was a sad and dark man due to his own loss in life, but he rarely showed that. |
