Shockingly Shocking

A giant death machine, the juggurnaut of fire and darkness, or as he preferred, the king of death and steel. At least, those were what he was called when stories were told about him, he really prefered to be called his name if possible. Cauldron, it was not hard, but it was strong and suited him. The weight behind his name was well suited as well, as each step he took sank claws deeply into the cement or pavement of the roads. Countless times they had begged him to use his humanoid form, but those requests fell on deaf ears... Instead, they instead arranged a 'fee' for him wandering the city that he had to pay in advance... To fix all of the roads he would destroy during his visits. He thought it was fair enough.

Metal clanged with each slow step, the massive cauldrons on his sides shifting, the lids occasionally bouncing and causing a loud gong like sound. He didn't care to fasten them, but was thoughtful enough to let them stem most of the putrid smoke that usually lifted from the metal containers.

"WITHIN THIS CAGE A HUNGER GROWS, BRING FORTH A FEAST, OR FACE NEW WOES."

This brought about few responses though, other than possibly the latches on the doors nearby being fastened tighter, the clicks and squeaks of the creatures nearest to him brought forth amusement in the death metal dragon, but did not satisfy his craving for meat. At this point he would even /consider/ vegetables, the last place he had gotten food didn't even fill him up half way, and now it was long passed meal time. He was tempted to roar to bring his point across more clearly, but last time he had done that in the city several people had died. Mostly from heart attacks.

...Maybe there were some good tasting dragons nearby, he considered, a grin spreading across the toothy helmet that covered his face. That would last a little while at least. A sigh came forth as he realized many dragons were too afraid to approach as well. The flames that rose from his nostrils as he let out the breath nearly caught a street sign on fire, but he blew off the small flames that lingered in the air near it.

"What does one have to do to get good food out here. I'd KILL for a steak, even if it was a mashup."

He grumbled to himself as he walked, his pace increasing enough that he almost began to overtake the people who were avoiding him. He was just moving into another intersection though, and likely about to surprise a good deal of people that would be unable to see him coming till he walked into the middle of the intersection... And were probably curios why so many people were leaving that road.

With his bag full of art supplies and other things, Helios left his mothers home. It was always a nice place to visit--the cooking was good and while the twins could no longer fit inside of it in their dragon forms like they could have when they first hatched, with their humanoid forms they could come in as well--albit stooped they had to be.

"See you later mom!" Helios called out.

"It was nice seeing you again," The twins replied, bowing respectfully. Helios's mother just laughed and waved them off.

"No need to be so formal you two. Go have fun. Take care of yourselves."

With the last of their goodbyes said the pair left and headed through the streets. It didn't take careful consideration and time before the twins had shifted back their original form. Sure it would have been easier to travel in the other, but The dragons decided that this time they'd walk in their normal forms back to the barracks.

"I still can't get over the fact that you two can shift like that." Helios muttered, staring back up at the two towering dragons. "I mean, You both were still tall, but..yeah."

"You will get used to it. I am sure."

"Hey now, I think it's awesome, that we can mingle a bit better." Daikokuten piped up, a smile stretching his face. "We don't unnerve them as much."

"Or you just unnerve them more." Helios countered playfully. They both snorted, before the stomping of another dragon caught their attention. Coming up to an intersection as they were, was another much larger dragon. The twins paused, as Helios looked on. He was massive and Helios had never seen such a dragon as him before. Helios might not have heard what the other dragon had said, but the twins had managed to catch it.

"Excuse me, sir. If you are looking for someplace good to eat."

"We know a few places, if you're interested." The pair spoke up kindly. They were not ones to discriminate or judge others by how they looked, and if he needed help, if they could provide assistance, then it was only the right thing to do. Besides, others fleeing from the road he was coming from seemed to be a bit frizzled about all the ruckus the other was making.

He was getting pretty fed up with this city, far too many people knew him, and they ran away rather than standing petrified in fear like they did in Nondir! Smoke billowed from the nostrils of his mask as he let out another heavy sigh. He was contemplating demolishing a cart of vegetables when two dragons didn't turn tail and run from him at the intersection, his massive dark metal mask turned in their direction. The flames rolling from the eyeholes seemed to 'blink' a few times at their response to him.

Sir..?

There was a shriek of metal on metal as the horns on the cauldrons twisted around and clamped the lids shut. A deep, rumbling, bubbling, and churning chortle came from him as he wiped an imaginary tear from the side of his face, before nudging the first dragon which spoke with his massive fist- in a light way. "HAHAHA... MANY NAMES AND THINGS I AM CALLED, SIR IS RARELY, IF EVER THERE." He seemed fond of his song-segments or half rhymes that randomly came forth from his massive body, but afterwards he managed to control his light laughter and glance between them.

Twins... Heheh... One rider, that was interesting...

"Heh If you can find me a nice place to eat, I would gladly pay for all three of your shares. Everyone seems to close as I approach."

It wasn't surprising, he was known for his brutality in battle, and for many decisive victories during the course of the war. Even if he was the last dragon standing, it was rumored that no battle had ever been lost where he had been present. (it wasn't true, but many believed it was). The two might have realized that many facts about him had been exaggerated, except his size, and how frightening he could appear to be.

He wasn't sure which way they intended to lead him, though it was obvious by the foot prints where he had been already. With a nod to them he gestured that they should lead the way. Maybe they could catch the owners before they ran away, if they were... Lucky. He really needed a pair of sunglasses to remove for thoughts like that.

Both the twins weren't stupid. The dragon was far larger and intimidating. There was something familiar. But whether the Twins betrayed knowing him or not, they smiled.

"We know a place that's very good." Benzaiten said, moving off to her left. With a purpose in mind, she set a decent pace. "the Owners there are really nice as well."

Before Daikou could take after his sister, Helios managed to scramble up his side and settle himself down. He was thankful that being bonded to two dragons that they didn't bicker which one carried him around, or with whom he flew with. They had made the decision to share one rider; so there had never been any problems.

"Forgive us, We feel like we should know you."

"You do seem very familiar, and everyone seems to recognize you."

Helios listened passively, as the twins walked along, leading the larger onwards.

"I am Benzaiten" Ben spoke up, finally distinguishing herself. It was common that they finished each others sentences or spoke at the same time, but not always.

"And you can call my Daikoukuten. Though most people call me Daikou." Her brother spoke up, as they continued along.

"I'm Helios." He spoke up finally, though he felt very very small in the company of such large dragons. He was quite amazed that his own twins were dwarfed by the other. By looking at the dragon, Helios could only guess that he was at least metal/fire dual combo.

It didn't take long for them to reach the small restaurant that they had spoken for. Of of course, with the Twins showing up first, the owners didn't close up shop right away. It seemed their luck was on their side.

"We have a party of four, if you don't mind?" Daikoukuten asked the owner. He hoped that she wouldn't turn them down.

The large dragon's attention shifted from one to the other whenever they seemed to switch off speaking, it amused him greatly that they had such a strong connection, or at least knowledge of eachother. He supposed this was as good a shot as any, locals often knew the best places to eat, even if it might be difficult to find one that would actually serve one such as himself. He was personally responsible for more deaths in battle than some whole platoons. A fact he was proud of in one way, and while he didn't /regret/ any of it, would not have minded giving up that title. He didn't fight to kill, or show superiority, he fought for a purpose... Which happened to put him directly at odds with Lomira.

This was not a battle ground though, so as far as he was concerned all of the people here were his friends, unless he had some reason to think otherwise.

"A pleasure, Benzaiten, Daikou, and Helios." He bowed his head slightly to them as he finished responding to their introductions, though as usual there was a much more flashy intro to his own name. "BEFORE YOU STANDS CAULDRON, THE CRUCIBLE OF CARNAGE, FIRE, AND DEATH." His voice rolled out in its deep reverberating tones, rattling some nearby windows, and causing strange black flames to escape from between the teeth of his helmet... Afterward though he laughed at the effect it had on people, as many more suddenly chose to be much further away... Likely those that did not specifically recognize him before. These random outbursts of his were definitely suited to such a... Metal... Being. With all the ambient noises they generated, whether from rattling windows, cries of terror, or the churning and gurgling of his cauldrons it often sounded like a snippet from a death metal song.

The shopkeeper was... Well, pretty nervous to say the least, but either out of a sense of duty, fear, or bravery decided to allow them all in to the dining area for dragons. There were a number of other dragons and humans there already, but Cauldron more or less ignored them as they were lead to a table that was out of the way of most of the dragons. Save for one that was dining alone with its rider, it was a sacrifice that had to be made to make the majority happy.

He sat down near the table, as usual, leaving cracked foot prints over to where they were seated, he didn't take the 'chair' though which was too small anyways, and instead just sat on the ground. "Assassin 3rd rank, if the name didn't ring a bell." He clarified even further, and somewhat gave the impression of grinning. Would they stick around?

Luck had it on their side that the shop owner didn't close up at the sight of Cauldron. They sat across from the metal/fire dragon, and both watched the reactions from others as he literally declared himself in quite a display. Ah, now where had they heard of that name before?

Helios managed to slip off of Daikou's shoulder with ease, and sat in-between the two dragons.

Though he blinked up at Cauldron after he further clarified his rank. It was a lightbulb that clicked in both twins mind.

Isn't he the assassin for Nondir? Helios asked the Twins mentally, keeping his face calm.

Yes, but. There isn't any danger. He has invited us to dinner.Daikou responded.

I think, if he was wanting to harm us--he would have done so already.

"Oh. Yes. We have heard of you." Daikou replied, seeming nonplussed that he was having lunch with one of the country's most feared dragon. "And I have to admit, you do live up to some of those tales. At least, appearance wise."

Neither both dragons or rider budged to leave or excuse themselves, both would have found it rude to have just left him there after he had so kindly invited them and even offered to pay their shares. For all that they might be on opposite sides, didn't mean that the dragon couldn't be a nice guy. So far that was what he was turning out to be. Of course, that could change if they suddenly were faced in fight against each other, but they hoped that it wouldn't come to that.

"So, what brings you out to Lomira?" Benzaiten asked politely. Menu's had been brought out for them, and While they glanced over what they could want, they could have a bit of conversation.

If you're just going to make faces the entire time I'm not going to take you out again Sei said with a light snort.

I'm not making any faces, Xander said.

Not with your FACE Sei said, giving her rider a sidelong look and prodding him gently through their link.

Xander stared at her for a moment before sighing. "Everything's so expensive," he muttered, looking at the menu and wrinkling his nose up.

"Not everything that costs money is expensive Xander, and as fun as it was we wouldn't exactly be good role model dragonriders now if we stole all our food like when we were wyrmlings."

"We get food at the barracks for free..."

Sei rolled her eyes and laid her head down. Even after nearly two years in Lomira Xander wasn't able to let go of his suspicions and fears. Sei doubted he ever would, but it did not bother her, she could feel that the caution stemmed from his desire to protect... not that it wasn't annoying when she was trying to treat him to something nice. "Listen, I'll pay for it out of my half, so you don't worry about your half that you're saving," said Sei with gentle pursuasion. Xander finally seemed to settle down with the idea. They ordered and before Xander could ask for the cheapest salad Sei cut in and told them to get him something with potatoes and good meat. Xander sulked and Sei stuck her tongue out at him with a smirk. Xander returned the gesture.

They remained at their "table" to wait for the food. The tables here were massive things meant for dragons, though Sei was small and hardly needed it. Today she was a pearly pink, with feathered wings and horns that curled like delicate antenne, shimmering slightly like a mirage. Xander always wondered why she kept up her varied appearances when they were alone, there were no other dragonrider diners in the massive room, and Xander could see through the illusions with little consequence. Sei said it was simply her natural illusion instinct to never look the same twice. Xander shrugged.

They weren't alone for long however, Xander was the first to perk up at the faint crashing sounds, alert. Sei then lifted her head up out of curiosity. Probably just an earth dragon approaching... neither of them was prepared for one of Nondir's most elite assassins to walk through the door of the restaurant. Xander immediately went on high alert, eyes widening. What was he doing here? Why? They had to go they had to get out of here Sei would be hurt and.

Sei sent a soothing hush, and extended her wing slightly over her young rider. She was alert, but didn't allow panic to run rampant through here, tempering Xander's natural knee-jerk desire to run and hide.

He's here for the mating season. Not to harm us. Lomira and Nondir are not at arms at the moment Sei reassured, though she stayed alert.

Yes, but why is he HERE? Xander mentally replied. He sank a little into the shadows of Sei's wing, watching as they were seated. The water-luck twins were with him, acting cordial. Xander glowered from the shadows and Sei watched as well. She admitted she did not know much about Cauldron other than his reputation in battle. He was taught as one of the dragons that they as inexperienced dragons should run from at all costs rather than engage.

"Hello Helios, Ben, Dai! It's good to see you! Who is this here that you've brought to eat with?" Sei asked cheerfully, as if nothing was strange about the situation.

Cauldron was grinning inside that helmet when they finally realized who he was, he could see the gears in their heads moving as they talked to each other. He was happy that they stayed, though would not have minded if they left either, he understood the bad blood that was carried. He did wonder whether they stayed because they were fearless, dumb, polite, or low on money though. he doubted they were that low on money with two luck dragons, though perhaps they were and they were lucky enough to find someone to front the bill. He'd had that happen before in Nondir with some unfortunate lucks.

...He had to wonder what stories were told of him over /here/ he knew about a lot of them in Nondir, and wondered if they were half as outlandish over here. He really liked the one about how he punched the life titan in the face (didn't happen) or how he once ripped the head off a metal dragon and beat someone to death with it (did happen)... His favorite was about how once after being told not to go into battle he punched Illirian so hard he knocked the titan out... Well, that one wasn't entirely false, but was missing a number of details, and possibly extenuating circumstances.

"MY STORIES TRAVEL FAR AND WIDE, BUT ALLOW MY PRESENCE BE TELL THE TRUTH FROM THEIR TIDE~!" He roared out in his half-song tune, before letting out a hellishly deep rumbling noise and picking up the menu. He was reading the menu somewhat closely, when it suddenly burst into flames. Huh. Oops. He forgot that his eyes were currently emitting fire, of course they usually were but he often forgot. "I'm not wearing all my bones though, didn't want people to have to stare at their dead relatives and such." That confirmed one story at least, that he added the skulls of his victims to the cauldrons on his sides, and that sometimes they'd reappear in metal form on his armor... That being said, there were still an impressive array of dragon skulls and such adorning his armor, made of pitch black metal.

"I'm here mostly for the flights, and also because it's been awhile. Last time I was here I put a hole through the west wall, it was kind of hard to take in the scenery at the time too..." He trailed off as he seemed to be mulling something over, while peering at the twins... "You two seen much action yet? You look kinda... Young..." he trailed off on the last words, obviously managing to veer away from some less polite wording there.

And another dragon butted into the conversation? His head turned till he had Seishin and Xander within his view, molten metal, slitted eyes momentarily visible within his helmet before the fire caught up with his movement and obscured it again. There was the slight screeching of metal as he scooted over and waved a hand. "FRIENDS OF YOURS? JOIN US! ORDER WHAT YOU LIKE, I'M BUYING." It was blindingly obvious Seishin was interested in what the hell a Nondir assassin was doing in a local restaurant, apparently eating dinner with a Lomira rider she knew. He knew in Nondir many would be called spies if they saw something like that.

he laughed again, nearly frightening off their waiter, who was trembling nearby... With some prodding from the other staff, who had likely drawn straws to see who would have to take their orders, the waiter approached. Leaning over to the human waiter he politely ordered one of everything... Since he wasn't actually able to read much more than the appetizers before the menu had caught on fire.

The pair smiled politely when he half-sung his stories. Of course they had heard outlandish stories, and whether any of them were true, the twins were hard pressed to know. And of course, it would be impolite to ask, at least how they viewed it.

"Ah, well. I sure you are a sight to see with, ahh, your full armor." Helios managed to reply, realizing how nervous he sounded. really, they could afford to pay their own way, and they were staying out of politeness and interest. They were at a truce, and they couldn't fault the dragon for fighting what he believed in. Even if it differed from their own.

"I see. Well, It looks like they got it all repaired for the most part." Benzai replied, looking up from the menu momentarily.

"No, we haven't seen anything really. We have just recently graduated." Daiko replied, nodding.

"We have yet to decide which wing to join, if any." There were always many other things they could be instead of just a fighting wing. They would just have to find out and decide which would suit them the best.

"We still have time, I think."

Both of their attention was grabbed when Sei called out to them. Their faces lit up even more. He didn't mind when Cauldron invited them over.

"Yes, do join us! This is, here Cauldron, though, I do presume you have heard of him." Benzai nodded.

"It has been awhile since we have seen you two. How has life been?" Daiku asked eyes twinkling, as He let his rider order after cauldron was finished. He politely gave his own order, as did Benzai before they turned their attention back to the company on hand. If the other pair was feeling out of sorts and anxious about being around Cauldron, perhaps sitting with the twins and of course, Cauldron would help calm them down.
