Height is always at the shoulder! Length is nose to tail tip. The length of an individual dragon is most typically found by putting its image or a mockup of it on the size chart, which shows you about how long the dragon is for its height! It isn't stated in each breed, but these dragons typically all have external ears of some sort!

Common Elements

Fire

Size [H] 35-45ft, [L] 75-130 ft

Eggs: They come in a variety of colors, from black scorching with red flecks, to all shades of red, orange, yellow, sometimes blue or streaked white. The eggs are terribly hot to the touch, and some even smoke or give off steam. four to eight feet tall depending on the mother or father elements, and several feet in diameter. Hatchlings are pretty large! Care of these eggs includes needing to be constantly resting upon a bed of coals. If a mother dragon is not a fire, her fire mate should aid in care. If neither parent is a fire, the parents can request aid in stoking the flames and keeping the eggs hot. So far, the hotter the eggs are up to hatching, the healthier the offspring.

Color:
Fire Dragons have striking colorations, as striking and typically bright as true flame. Like their eggs, Fire Dragons can come in colors ranging from natural colors of fire, to the colors of embers. They are very rarely white or blue, with black being uncommon anywhere outside of the death titan's influence. (Though black markings or streaks/spots/stripes are not considered uncommon) Their colors can take on attributes of creatures that symbolize fire, or creatures with colors that could apply to a fire Dragon naturally (such as snakes, insects or birds, or other things too!). Fire Dragons with metal, earth, or other dragons of certain minerals can end up to be different colors too- such as a copper metal dragon to a fire can sometimes make green dragons of flame. Their elemental breath and created flames are usually the color of natural fire, (unless, as stated above, they have a legit reason for another color). Red-orange-yellow is the most common, and over time can grow in strength and heat to billow forth blue and even white depending on the dragon, though it is possible for a dragon to be born with blue or white flames.

Body:
Fire Dragons are the third largest Dragons native to Noveltellus. They come in many shapes, and have a generous size variety to go with it, too. They can be slim and fit, or big bulky behemoths, or large and well muscled and less bulky- its really up to preference. Most have at least a couple sets of two horns and cheek spurs, long necks and long tails that are often but not always tipped in a variety of tail tips, from devil-forked, to thick clubbed, to splayed horns and spines. They can, occasionally, have feathery crests or fluffy manes. Most Fire Dragons have scales, ranging from smooth snake-like scales to rough, hard scaley skin, all the way to shiny plated scales. Rarely, a Fire Dragon may be feathered, fish-scaled, or furred, but such traits are often results of parentage. Being such large, and still flighted dragons, the Fire Dragons all* have massive wings, which help support them in the air, though like all dragons, their flight is aided with raw magic as well.

Wings are most commonly five digit sailed wings, though other digit numbers have been observed. Two wings is most common, but four is not entirely unheard of (second set being smaller than the first pair). Half-Feathered-half-Sailed wings are also not unheard of and are not too uncommon. Feathered wings are rare, just as any fully feathered fire dragon(so called 'skeathers' (scale-plate feathers) are just slightly more common than true feathers, but still uncommon). Furred Fire specimens can have any of the above three wing types. Fore Dragons are fire resistant, though only the oldest and most experienced of them are truly immune to all fire-attacks (excluding shots to the eyes). It is not unheard of for Fire Dragons to have pits and vents in their scales through which flame might shoot.

Occasionally, when a Fire and Water breed and fail to make a Steam Dragon, and the resulting offspring is a Fire, it may, rarely, be as short as 20ft at the shoulder while being up to 130ft long, with no wings or very small wings. They are capable of flight on magical properties, and are very rare.

Elemental Power:
Fire Dragons can, as one might imagine, breathe and belch forth flame. They can do this through their mouths for a large blast, or through their nostrils for further reaching twin jets of flame. They can 'bend' fire and manipulate it into shapes at their whim, the most experienced Fire's being able to create life-like 'creatures' for no real reason. As fighters, they are capable of many powers within the realm of flame, from heating things near them to catching things on fire- occasionally themselves! As healers, a careful Fire Dragon can cauterize wounds. Use your imagination with the power of fire- we'll let you know if it's OP.

Water

Size: [H] 15ft-25f [L] 70ft-160ft+

Eggs: Much like fish eggs, Water eggs are perfectly round, and clear- Their babies can be seen developing within the 'shell' which is gelatinous to the touch and very fragile. The color of the eggs doesn't start until the baby within has developed its own colors- which are reflected in the eggs. Care of the eggs is essential- many water eggs have been hurt and not hatched with poor care. They must be immersed in a nesting pond, or other means of water containment. If a water egg is even somewhat expected, this nest should be set up prior to laying, if it is entirely unexpected, the egg should be washed with care of all debris and sand and then immersed. Eggs are typically 3.5 ft high and around, large beach-ball sized.

Colors:
Water Dragons are amongst the most striking and colorful of dragons, taking on not only blues, greens, grays, and murky browns, but also an explosion of color, mimicking fish and their patterns, saltwater, freshwater, man-bred kinds or wild varieties. Just as most fish and creatures of water (including snakes, frogs, and other water dwelling creatures), the ventral (lower) side of water dragons are usually lighter than the dorsal (upper) side. Truly, most any color assortment goes for water Dragons, (provided you show us what fish(s) you're using if it is a fish based). Their skins/hides/coats and fins are usually quite shiny at all times, and look wet even when they are dry. Most have an iridescent sheen to them.

Body:
Water Dragons are known fondly as 'noodle' dragons- being that they are, for the most part, on the shorter side of the scale, but are also incredibly long, the shortest being 70ft, and the lengthiest being in the 160ft range. That isn't to say that no water dragon is a bit taller, and a bit shorter, with bulkier proportions, for such things do happen. Short in length and in height, and bulky in body proportionately water's can turn into some of the largest dragons, jsut on principal of their inversed growth. Usually adorned with curling horns (or even shell-like horns), Water dragons are best known for their fins and frills. Some individuals have such fins that they look bigger than they really are! Their necks are usually very long, with a semi long middle, followed by a longer tail than their neck, sometimes twice the neck and body together.

They are dazzling to see. In water, these dragons are unparalleled and have no equal for their skills and speed and grace- While on land, many are at least somewhat awkward. Their hide is most often smoothe and slick, like fish-scale, but can be skin (dolphin/ray skin esque) or plate scaled. Their wings, while flight capable, are longer than they are wide commonly, and help in water, but are good for flight too. Fish-fin like wings are not unheard of. Feathers as wings and skin are pretty rare in this breed, as is fur- though otter-like specimens have occurred- rarely. They usually have fins cresting their heads and backs and down their tails, and have sails adorning their tails, elbows, ankles, and webbed feet. All Water dragons have webbed feet, but sail placement on the rest of the body is up to individual interpretation.

Elemental Power:
As might be expected of Water Dragons, they have power over the aspects of water. Their 'breath' weapon creates a powerful stream of water, thin jets or large outpouring, they can control the temperature, depending on skill level. Some Water Dragons are experts in their element and fully capable of heating their internal water to scalding temperatures, leaving a nasty burn, or bringing their water to nearly freezing temperatures, experts able to get a thin, easily breakable coat of ice if they focus. The effort involved with pushing the boundary of their element is immense and usually not worth bothering for the thin layer of ice. They can conjure and 'bend' water, manipulating it and able to make shapes, including orbs of water, suspending it in the air if they choose to. As an attacking element, it can be overlooked, but this is a grave mistake, for water dragons can turn the tides-pun- in a fight. As a healer, Water dragons who are gifted with this ability are among the purest, and some of the best healers within the common breeds. Water Dragons can also manipulate liquids that have at least half water- mud included. Some amusing choices include: Tea, paint, some weak inks, soup, and so on. it isn't unheard of for a water dragon to manipulate water-saturated plants like vines or seaweed!

Air

Size [H] 15ft-17ft[L]75ft-80ft

Eggs: Birdlike, white and often flecked with blues, browns, golds and sometimes other colors, the eggs of Air Dragons are pretty simple in comparison with other breeds. They have an interesting ovoid-pear shape, meaning if they roll off of their high perched nests, thy roll in a circle instead of off their lofty nests! Care of these eggs can be maintained by any breed, so long as they have access to lots of plush materials, and preferably a high, lofty nest site. Eggs do not otherwise require special treatment beyond needing to be warm but not scalding. Eggs are usually 2.5 ft tall and 1.5ft diameter

Color:
Air Dragons are known to rival Water Dragons for beauty, and as many have a vain streak (but not all of them!) Coming in any color of the rainbow, their most common natural influence being any and all bird species. If not based on a bird's colors, the Air dragons come in soft grays, whites, mottled coats, blues, blue-white, teal, and even shades of pinks and oranges like sunset skies. Birdwise, Air dragons seem to come out quite often in not only the colors, but also sometimes in the shapes of the birds they're based from.
Body:
Being the lightest dragons weight wise, as well as naturally aerodynamic, they are the fastest flyers and masters of the sky. With medium to long necks, medium bodies and usually a fairly long tail to air in steering, Air Dragons are fairly small on the list of dragons, even though they have fairly long bodies at times. (or not, depending on the person making one) All Air dragons are fully feathered. Those who look like they have fur are covered in a downy coat of feathers. They all have feathered wings, which number in evens, 2, 4, 6, and rarely 8 wings. The most common seem to be 4. The first pair are always the biggest, and gradiate to the smallest, though finding one with dragonfly-like setup wouldn't be unusual (four wings closer together, and nearly identical in length). So long as the majority of their wings are feathered, some sail would be okay. They have wickedly sharp talons, sharper than any raptor, and stronger to boot. Most Air Dragons have a tall crest of feathers on their heads and cheeks, spines, elbows and ankles, tufts over shoulders and hips, and a lovely fan at the end of their tail which may be rounded or end in ribbony feathers. At the base of their spine, fanning over their rumps and their tails is a large bird tail- one reason they are naturals in the sky. Air Dragons usually have long, gently curved horns, or a series of short and long horns that usually face back over their necks rather than jutting out at the sides or forward.

Elemental Power:
Their breath weapon is undoubtedly, literally breath of air. However, the gusts of slicing air they are best known for come from slicing winds, caused by rapid flaps of the wings, and manipulating the shape the air takes. They can control the air around them, and thus make flying even easier- and nearly silent. They are sometimes known to control clouds, and thus their nicknames are sometimes 'Cloud' Dragons. The ace forces of Air dragons in a Wing, together, would be able to cloak their entire wing. Greatly skilled Air Dragons can force air into - or out of- an enemy dragon's lungs, or create vacuums of airless space around objects.

Earth

Size [H] 50ft-65ft [L] 100ft-475ft* (Earths, being so high at the shoulder, tend to be fairly long if their tail is long. Most do not sport long bodies but some do. Body shape tends to run in families.

Eggs: Massive, earthy colored and usually rough skinned, these large oval and tall eggs dominate the other eggs. Aside from a Titan's eggs, and those of the rarest breeds, Earth Dragons have the biggest eggs- and usually the heaviest. Pity the non Earth dragon mother who delivers one of these eggs, which range 5-7ft tall, and at least four feet around. These babies are born pretty big, larger than young ponies! Their eggs are sturdy- nothing short of a hammer wielded by an elf can break the shells. Luckily, the hatchlings within are (usually) strong enough to break out. If a hatchling takes too long to break shell and stops moving, a parent should help- lest the baby suffocate and die. Or, alternatively, have an actual elf with a hammer on hand. That helps too. Nesting requirments are simple, either a nest of dirt and earth, or even buried (not advised, in case of issues). So long as there is plenty of soil and dirt of many kinds, Earth Dragon eggs will develop well. A fine assortment of stones and rocks wouldnt hurt either!

Color:
One might expect dragons of the Earth to be dull, brown behemoths of power, but not looks. All one has to do is take a look at the many shades of earth, dirt and soil and stones to see this is wrong. While it is true that Earth dragons come in 'earth' tones, these shades range from almost black soil to rustic reds, oranges, tans, and even hinted flecks of gold. Some even take the colors of non crystal/gem semiprecious rocks, such as alabaster stone. greens, slate blues, grays, and other stone colors are acceptable. The rarest colors are pure white alabaster, or solid blacks. They can take the color patterns of many creatures, use your imagination and check with us.

Body:
Your typical Earth Dragon is built like a powerhouse- small of wing and large bodied,-but usually not fat- thick armored beasts with large plated scales, huge horns with the muscle to hold their heads high, spines and horns and blades can appear anywhere on their bodies, down their backs in single or double rows, spines and thick tail clubs being common. Their legs are usually pretty big, thick to support their bodies. Most Earth Dragons have wings that are barely big enough to support even a short glide, and many are born without wings at all. Fur manes are as soft as it gets with an Earth- no feathers for them, usually. (parentage sometimes effects this) But, Earth dragons have another side to them- Some are large but not thick of body, even so far as to be lanky. Those lanky specimens with wings big enough to support long lasting glides or even true flight are a rarity in themselves, but not unheard of. Rumors of short limed Earths with bodies longer than normal Earths have been mentioned, but never confirmed. Low slung (shorter than average, lizard like) earths are okay.

Elemental Power:
Earth Dragons spew mud, earth, and stone. It can stay in a quasi liquid state or harden at the whim of the Dragon. Shooting off rapid fire stones is one means of power, though outside of a fight, Earth dragons are prized for their ability to help cultivate the land, and to shape the landscape. As healers, Earth Dragons can use their rich mineral, quick hardening mud to both seal and help stop bleeding, as well as having some healing properties in their soil. They are most effective with larger dragons, as smaller ones are harder to help, since their own size is massive. Earth Dragons are built like tanks- they can take a hefty beating before stopping. Their adrenaline kicks in pretty hard- even a gravely wounded one will keep fighting, like a juggernaut battering ram til it drops. It is up to their riders or friends to get them to stop if they're hurt.

Floral & Forest

Size [H] (Floral) 6ft-10ft [L]25ft-78ft | Forest: 17ft-20ft [L]60ft-100ft

Eggs: Depending on which type of Forest dragon it is, their eggs can be anywhere from the size of an ostrich egg to about the same size an an air dragon's egg (2.5 ft tall and 1.5ft diameter) to a larger, 4ft egg for the true Forest dragons. Anything from a nest of sticks, flowers, leaves, soft things, and warmth- as well as decent sunlight or sunlamp are needed. Amusingly, Forest eggs are a lot like seeds- they need gentle misting with water twice a day, and should be resting on soil, with the other nesting materials close at hand. Eggs are usually varied, from a shiny opalescent shell to green leaf like, to woodlike eggs.

Color:
Forest Dragons come in two groups, the bigger ones taking after trees and flowering plants and those that take after flowers and other aromatic plants- including spices and fruits. Those based on flowers come in just about any color you could imagine in nature, so long as it can be found on a flower or a plant. Same goes for the larger variety! Green is a common color, as is brown, but just as plants come in many surprising colors, so do these guys. These smaller Forest dragons are a sub breed known as Floral.

Body:
Forest Dragons come in big and small varieties, the smaller ones being more likely to be covered in large petal-like feathers, tear-drop shaped scales and feathers cover their colorful bodies and feather tufted forms, and feathered wings. The mid-way sized Forests, between the tiny ones and the larger ones are a mix of the two, being parlty feathery and partly more forest-spirit like, with leaf-like scales, vines and woodlike hides and half feathered, half sailed wings.

It is not unheard of to have Forest dragons come in colors and shapes like insects, such as moths, wasps, bees, butterflies, or other such forest dwelling creepies. The rainforest should also be considered when thinking up a Forest dragon- look to nature for inspiration! The full sized Forest dragons usually has moss, vines, leaves, and other plants growing on them. Some might even have small trees! (though, these are more likely to be flight incapable). Their horns often look like wood.

They can take the forms of nature- sometimes mixing traits of many forest creatures, birds, mammals, insects, reptiles and so on. They can be tropical, woodland, pine forests or redwood forest based Forests. With a medium neck and body and decent tail, and long limbs for speed, powerful wings for agile flight, these dragons are lovely to behold. The smaller Forests can even go from all fours to walking on two legs like a humanoid without actually having to learn a spell to change them, and their fore paws are dainty, with four digits and a thumb to better manipulate tools and objects.

Elemental Power:
Forest dragons have a vast array of things at their disposal. The first thing, and most important, is a sticky sap they can 'breathe', a quick hardening amber that is an absolute horror to get out of feathers and hair, and out from under scales. This sticky saplike spitting ability can also combine with a stinging, burning concoction many Forests have, which can either burn or leave the enemy somewhat poisoned (they do not however, master poison like the Poison element does, nor are they masters of acid like an Acid dragon).

Many plants are toxic, or have properties that could cause a burn, but, not only can they spit this goop, they can also breathe a cleansing aromatic breath, which can calm patients, as well as in some cases, knock them out. They are known for having curative properties in their breath and saliva, and they can grow plants rapidly- even spontaneously form flowers and thorny vines in battle. They are good as both healers and fighters. They can control forces of plants, such as wild growth and controlling vines and plants. Their breath weapon can also be a spray of stinging needles or thorns, (Alternatively, some can shoot needles from their bodies if they have them). Their saplike spit can also cause terrible rashes if stuck on too long, especially under scales or in direct contact with skin.

Forest dragons come in two types: Forest, and Floral. Florals are much smaller.

Lightning

Size [H]17ft-22ft [L] 85ft-95ft

Eggs: Ovoid, general egg shaped, metalic blues, yellows, silvers and sometimes whites, streaked with visibly glowing electric lines. Nests should be made up of conductive materials, easier cared for when a Lightning parent is at the nest site, but not needed. Use of certain machines can help maintain the electricity needed to help them grow. (some parents have been known to use electric fence lines in their nests!)

Color:
Sometimes known as Storm, Static, or Electric Dragons, the Lightning Dragons are aptly colored. From roiling storm gray, to dark grays and even black, clear to yellow, and sometimes blues and sometimes other shades of brass, these dragons often have a cloudy soft patterning to their scales. The most striking facet of their hides are their markings, which look like crackling lightning. Most every Lightning Dragon possesses these streaks, which flash glowing colors from time to time. In the rare solid black specimens, these markings are invisible, making them very stunning to behold, as they are just black with seemingly random sparks of electricity flickering over them. Blue, dark gray, dark blue, and dark colors in general are far more rare than the lighter colors. Red is nar impossible, except when Erythrism is involved, and that has historically happened but once. Electric blue and other shades of blue are fairly uncommon, but not nearly so much as red, black, and dark colors.

Body:
This breed of Dragon is known for having sharp horns, curling up and back or in any configuration, often like antlers, metallic and begging lightning to strike them. These rows of spines usually go down their spines in long rows, and down their tails to the tips which are usually a sharp blade. The only place the spines shorten to nothing is over and around the shoulders and the area between- where the riding harnesses usually go. This is either natural, or else, the few spines in the way are surgically removed as infants, so the harness fits when they grow up. These dragons are whiplike, their tails longer in proportion to their body size than most dragon breeds. They are of a slim build, and some are even known to hatch with a preference to stand on two legs over all four, but this isn't too common. They usually have spurs on their cheeks. Feathers is very uncommon with this breed- but when they do show up, its usually limited to half-half wings, crests, or accent feathers. Otherwise, this breed is smooth scaled, plated scaled, or point-scaled (prickly scales)

Elemental Power:
Able to 'breathe' streams of electricity, as well as use their entire bodies to conduct much larger shots of lightning and in general, giant lightning rod tesla coils. They are capable of whipping up storms of medium size- a group of them can cause stormy mayhem. (And lord help you if you get a Storm-Weather dragon in the fray!) They can manipulate electricity, and fling it like a whip, or even use their tails like electric charges. They can also spit a highly conductive liquid that's sticky on their victims, which enhances the overall frying.

Sonic/Sound

Size [H]17ft-20ft [L] 45ft-68ft

Eggs: Sound Dragons have rounded eggs that are semi-flat, somewhat like a mermaid's purse (shark egg, except more rounded). It is thought that the eggs, with grooves and ridges lining their surface, quite like a record, aid in allowing the Sound Dragon infants in collecting sound particals which apparently aid in their growth. It is highly suggested that music be brought and played in close proximity to the nest, and wide varieties, all genres. There are even special 'headphones' for the eggs! They're usually about 2ft long, and 1.5 ft thick. The nest itself can be made up of instrument strings, sticks, and other such materials- nothing too sharp though!

Color:
What color is sound, anyway? Well, as far as we're concerned, sound can be interpreted in many ways- It could be the colors of an instrument, metalic or wooden, it could be the colors you see in your mind when hearing your favorite song. Many Sound Dragons have markings like soundwaves, but it isn't a must.

Body:
Typically built to support their huge lungs, Sound Dragons are usually larger bodied, but capable of flight. They usually have thicker bodies, and all of them have intricate horns, which are pitted to allow sound to pass through them. Most of them have musical voices, and some are masters of mimicry! They can sing on any key, how, no one knows. They usually have scales that are hollow, with pits that make sound when they fly (Though with their own sound canceling abilities, they can make this sound vanish). Their wings are quite large to support them, and many have thick plated scales over the wing 'arms'. Their tails often end in more horns, with any shape possible. And, while thick bodied Sound Dragons are most common, longer bodied specimens exist too, flute like beauties that often shimmer silvers.

Elemental Power:
Sound Dragons are capable of unleashing the sounds of all hell, and can do a banshee proud. They are known to be the loudest living creatures, and capable of bursting ears and disorienting other dragons. The most devastating sounds they make are often the ones you can't hear- the ones that mess with the inner ear, and balance- resulting in a failure to fly. Crafty ones can, once the enemy is disoriented, speak to them in a familiar voice, or even mimic their own back at them and drive them a bit mad- long enough for the Sound Dragon to deliver any final blows, or get away. As devastating as they are capable of being, they can also be sweet and soft toned, and give an aura of serenity when needed, depending on their own musical taste.

Poison/Venom/Toxic

*Three breeds in the same class, some are stronger than others.

Size [H] 14ft-19ft [L]35ft-67ft

Eggs: Deep purple black, leathery soft eggs with a sticky, wet coating on the skin. Streaks of glowing lines are visible on the eggs. Eggs are poisonous to touch, and can cause severe reactions in people. Extreme caution is advised with these eggs- though, right at laying, the eggs are not yet toxic to the touch. The mother (if non Poison Dragon) has time to situate the egg before it gets its slick poisonous skin. Candidates are not allowed to touch these eggs, at all. Like water dragons, a bowl should be provided for the eggs, which should be immersed almost all the way (the tops of the eggs should be out of the liquid) in various poisonous and toxic liquids. Snake venom is acceptable too. Good choices of poisons and other toxic things will be provided- the more deadly when mixed the better! These hatchlings will not die, no matter what you put in there short of acid, which is not advised. Eggs are known to give off unexpected plumes of toxic and poisonous gasses! They are usually 3ft high and 2ft around

Color:
most commonly, Poison Dragons are dark in color, almost uniformly so, with glowing markings in the colors their eggs had. Some are quite surprisingly bright, (but still glow). There are plenty of poisonous (and venomous) creatures for them to identify with (such as poison dart frogs, various fish, snakes, plants etc.) They have a very ominous glow about them, their often slick skins occasionally dripping the same glowing substance that's in their markings.

Body:
These dragons can only be described as sleek, and almost snakelike-felines. They're not quite noodles, leaning more toward the build of a lean wildcat, with long necks and tails. Their skin is usually smooth, fish-scale and often slickened with what can only be described as a sticky film (think fish). This film/ooze/slime is highly poisonous. Riders of these dragons, over time with careful exposure, can become entirely immune to their own dragons- but not to other dragons of the same breed! The shape of these dragons faces are often snakeline, long or short, always having venom glands somewhere and fangs like vipers on steroids. Many are shown to have cobralike hoods, large slitted eyes (or smaller eyes), and needle like spines. Their tails are covered in these needles! Their talons are large, almost as long as Air Dragons, and their wings are long and often narrow, and most always sailed. The webbing is semitransparent, making the glowing veins of the dragons inchor quite visible. It is not unheard of to have a Poison Dragon born looking like a porcupine from hell! Or perhaps a blowfish- depending on parentage. These dragons can look sleek, but their many sharp protrusions can flex, and they can be very sharp to encounter- cutting and infecting wounds with toxins that can kill or greatly hinder an enemy. Immediate treatment is required if a poison dragon lands hits!

Elemental Power:
If you couldn't guess by now, Poison Dragons are highly poisonous! They're outright toxic biohazards to everyone around them. If that wasn't enough, they're also /venomous/. All things deadly permeates from these dragons. Their riders saddles must be carefully made, just to ensure the rider isn't exposed to too much of the poison at once! These dragons can spit venom, or liquid poison depending on how it wants to kill its prey. (Venom and poison are not the same thing). Some are able to reel in their own toxicity and are capable of using it as an antidote, or even antivenom- who better to heal victims of poison dragon attacks than poison Dragons? It should be noted that Poison Dragons can, with practice, limit the poisonous slime their bodies are coated with.

Acid

Size [H]12ft-18ft [L]27ft-63ft

Eggs: Ovoid, bright green and often a bit glowy, eggs are safe to touch for about half an hour after laying, time enough to get them in a thick glass bowl, and filled almost entirely with acid. The eggs themselves are immune, and aid in the hatchling's growth. It is not advised that anyone touch these eggs! Unless you're an acid dragon. Usually 3ft high and 2ft around, same as poison dragons.

Color:
Acidic colors, bright greens, neons of yellow and green, and pretty much any color that acid could represent. Very rarely the color will be acidic colors, but the dragon will be partly transparent! These dragons can have markings, stripes, spots, and usually have rows of glowing lines on them.

Body:
These dragons tend to vary between slim, heavy built, and something in between. They can be lanky and tall or low slung and big bodied. Many have horns that curl around forward in some way, as they are capable of firing their acid through the hollow channels. They usually have smoother hides, but can have any type of scale. They tend to have frills and spines, feathers and fur being next to nonexistent in this breed. Like their Poison cousins, their wings are of similar configuration, being somewhat long and having glowing striations through them(and any frills). The blood of these dragons is acidic and burns just as well as their breath weapon/spit. In larger bodied specimens, more spines and less frills are noted.

Elemental Power:
Acid dragons are notorious for being a corrosive breed, their breath not only has the power to burn flesh and objects chemically, but they can also spit acid as well- or better- than a Water can shoot jets of water. Their very blood is saturated with acidic properties- biting, scratching, or cutting these dragons can be as dangerous as getting hit by one. That isn't to say you can't hurt them- because you can. Just don't expect your weapons to survive! Bashing them with a blunt weapon is usually the safest option- or using a shed blade of their own Breed can help. Many Acid Dragons have vents in their scales, and they can let acidic fumes build up to let out a massive shot of their breath weapons from many points of their bodies- they have to wait a while to recharge after this though. As a healing aspect, Acid dragons are able to manipulate and 'bend' acid, so they could be good for removing acid from wounded comrades who have encountered an enemy Acid.

Rare Elements

Chaos

Size [H] [L] ---SIZE DEPENDS ON PARENTS. They tend to be similar to their mothers---

Eggs: Chaos eggs are a real mystery- They arrive without warning. Their shells are usually ovoid, and solid black- though they have a tenancy to sometimes change color. They have bold markings in bright colors, usually both parents main colors. The eggs size varies greatly. These dragons can be the smallest florals, or as big as the mighty earth- or Celestial, if one should arrive again. So far no titan Chaos has ever hatched but that doesn't mean it cannot happen.

Color:
Like their eggs, Chaos dragons are usually black as pitch, though they can be very dark blues, greens, purples, and over colors. Their markings usually project colors based on mood, and can change from minute to minute. Sometimes their colors are as chaotic as their name implies, having patches of random colors and patterns- sometimes even looking like a chimerid of many breeds color wise
(and sometimes bodywise too). A most amusing aspect of the Chaos dragons is that some can even simply change all their colors, though they have no real control over it. Sometimes, they just plain change color and that's all there is to it. However, they ALL have markings that stand out and glow, and project symbols at times- a chaos's magic, be they runes or other markings, are not welded to the skin like Arcane elementals.

Body:
Their shapes, and sizes, seem to depend on their parents- often they come out looking like a mashup of their parents. Though it's possible for them to come out entirely different, too! The chaos Dragon's usually have pretty crazy horns, big and usually many sets, or small and a lot more sets, or twisted, or chaotic antlers bigger than makes sense- anything goes. Chaos dragons don't make any sense. And that's the point!

Elemental Power:
Chaos dragons are known for causing- well, chaos. Their powers include disrupting loging, making thigns backwards or upside down, or twisted up. Sometimes what they do doesn't seem to follow any basline for 'normal' at all. They can fire off antimater breath weapon beams, which ocasionally don't do anything, or else they do and it makes the world spin for those hit. Another type of Chaos is an elemental randomizer- they can use any element, at random, and have 0 control over what comes out. It could be a beam of light element power, or bubbles. Or nothing. Chaos dragons are also capable of teleporting, but it takes a lot out of them, and sometimes they end up in places they didn't intend to go.

Dream

Size [H] 25ft-33ft [L]80ft-110ft

Eggs: The Eggs of the Dream Dragons are, according to most, the most amazing eggs to arrive on the sands. As soon as they are laid, the mother Dragon of Dreams (or a Dream Dragon rookery keeper will assist) will weave the most spectacular dreamcatcher around the egg on the ground, with the sides raised, almost like a funnel to take in dreams and wonders.

Of all dragon types, Dream Dragons are the most tolerant of other dragons around their nests- they will, in fact, make sure the nest site can accommodate others, for an important aspect of their nest and care of the eggs requires others, either asleep or imagining their favorite things. The shells of the Dream eggs, while typical egg shaped, are on the larger side, being four feet high and 2.5 ft around, their shells different for all who see them, projecting different dreams that the person needs. Dream Dragon parents will continue to weave complex webs all around the nest, gathering more and more dreaming material, or so they say.

Color:
Dreams- they come in many hues, dark tones or light tones, gray scale, black-and-white, or in radiance of color. Whisps billow around them, held in place by their own wills and imaginations. Their colors come in every color, hue, shade, and saturation. One of the loveliest shades for a Dream Dragon is taupe and Gold fleck, making them sparkle almost as much as a Solar. Whirls and swirls are fairly common for their hides, and are known to change places or even move from time to time.

Body:
Usually slender, with horns ranging in a vast array of shapes, and often many numbered, and can have some of the most complicated horns, next to a Glass or Chaos. Dream Dragons commonly have long, silken soft manes which float rather than obey the will and law of Gravity. These manes can range from just the top and back of the neck, the entire way from head to shoulder, picking up mid body, fading and picking up on the tail, fading and ending up in a long billowing end to the tail itself (not calculated into total body length!) or else, is a single long row of mane from head to nearly the end of the tail with a silken tail. Other options include feathers, sail, or rarely spines.

Their wings are glorious, and come in all wing types and mixes, favoring nothing in particular. They can even have insectoid wings mixed with feathers and sails. Their main bodies are either downy feathered, short furred, or scaled, with fur and scales being common, or even mixed. These dragons are devoted to imagination, down to their looks- which is also rivaled by Glass Dragons. They usually have floating, unnatatched to anything whisps, which can stay in position or move about at the dragon's will. These whisps can take on many forms, but usually have some meaning to the dragon.

Elemental Power:
Dream Dragons are a rarer breed than most, their powers fairly high on the list of many. Their minds are said to work on a level not fathomed by most, second only to mental and technology, who tie. Their imaginations can become reality, at least in the form of creating what they need at the time- not REAL creations mind, just physical representations of what they want. These do not last forever and are in no way permanent, forcing a dream dragon to lose its focus harshly reduces their effectiveness, and can even completely ruin the current waking dream. Their breath weapon is a concentrated blast of whatever they want it to be like- it could be blasts of dream-like fire, shards of ice, liquid metal, or whatever the dragon chooses.

These imitations are nowhere near the true elements powers, but getting caught in them still hurts. If a Dream Dragon is forced to use its last resort - an actual blast of dream energy via its jaws, one had better get out of the way! Not only can it hurt or even severely wound its victim, it can also force the enemy to fall asleep, and result in falling to its death. The downside is, this takes so much of the Dream Dragons reserve energy that it becomes vulnerable, its powers less viable than before. Dream dragons are FAR stronger at night- but even stronger when they are asleep.

When sleeping, a Dream dragon can project a dream version of itself, which is pretty obviously a projection, but it can attack too. Destroying the projection(s!) will force the Dreamer to wake. Another skill these dragons posess is similar, and in the same family of element as Mental Dragons, which is to project a mental image into the enemy- or friend!. These can be good dreams or bad ones. What makes this different than a Mental dragon is parts of the dreams are real, and not imagined.

The dream dragon can also dream-walk in other peoples dreams, but this can be dangerous- if a dream dies within the mind, it will go into a coma in the real world, cut off from its soul. Only a Life and Mental Dragons working together can call back the spirit of a Dream, and that doesn't always work. Dream dragons can also help others to rest, and can knock them out with only a gentle version of their breath attack. Not all Dream Dragons are good- there are evil ones too, though they usually choose to call themselves Nightmare Dragons, and similarly, their tactics tend to be most fiendish.

Spirit

Size [H] 25ft-30ft [L] 75-130ft, not counting ghostly trails

Eggs: The Eggs of Spirit Dragons are a mysterious thing- In the beginning, they have a shell, and look similarly to Shadow Dragon eggs, being dark with smooth shell. During the time between laying and hatching, the egg will slowly seep vapor, til the shell itself is no longer physically there, more or less. Once the egg has passed over into a spirit-like state, touching it at all could drag the person touching it inside- and without a trace. Only a spirit dragon, particularly a parent, should touch the egg in this stage, and even they don't because it would be seen as blasphemy to touch such a young soul.
No one knows why these eggs do this, or how, but when the hatching comes, the 'vapor' shell unfolds into the dragon itself, changing color to its final state. Size of the eggs isn't exactly measurable, as they seem to get bigger from their shell state to their 'spirit' state, but are estimated to be between 3 and 4 ft, and roughly 4 ft in diameter. Hatchlings seem bigger than they really are- or smaller than they really are. Nesting material can include voodoo trinkets, spiritual whatnot, and anything that might be useful to a Spirit. Seeing as these eggs tend to float, the nest itself doesn't particularly matter once the egg is more vapor than shell.

Color:
Spirit Dragons are usually on the darker side, but this is not always the case. As with spirits, or ghostly encounters, they tend to vary. Some are deathly white, or pale, gray, some in various other colors including greens, purples, reds and yellows, or even rustic colors. It's hard to pinpoint exactly, because these dragons can fade between a physical form, which is in full color, to a spirit form, which is ghostly and vaporous. This breed can, like many, come in virtually all shades- Some with voodoo masks already in place on their faces- well, in those cases, actually are their faces.

They can be Voo-Doo type Spirits, Shamanistic, Druidic, Nature-spirits, or general guardian beasty spirits, or, as is typically the most seen, straight up ghostly! Those born in Nondir are known to be some of the most frightful and terrible, being on verge of demonic with more than a hint of being poltergeists. Their voices, as is common for ghosts and spirits, are often many numbered in individuals- who can imitate any sound, person, or creature with skill, or, when not doing that, can be many voices speaking at different times, with the same words. Spirit Dragons are known to occasionally glow, or have large areas of their bodies glow while the rest of their form is near invisible- giving a pretty frightening visual. They are often known as mock-Death Dragons, and sometimes act the part. Some Spirit Dragons keep to their physical forms more often than others, and seem to be keyed more as healers and spiritual guides than phantoms. As many are shamanistic, being a healer isn't too far out of logical for them.

Body:
Depending on what spirit dragon one might be referring to, they can be long and described as whispy, or sometimes powerful and bulky, and still whispy, such as guardian spirit beasts like fuu-dogs. Being usually less than 60% physical at any one time, Spirit Dragons are usually seen as vaporous and lacking solid body features, choosing rather to move like liquid, or air that doesn't dissipate. Their eyes usually glow, but don't always. They have wings, sailed or feathered or both, and commonly come in multiples, maxing at eight in rarer individuals, most common being four to six. Those born with shaman-like and voo-doo like facial 'masks' are a real puzzle to those around them, for while they are not as numerous as the normal ones, they can be that much more frightening. Their masks can be anything from skull-like to true demon masks, to ritualistic in nature, with limitless styles. What makes them frightening is their lack of mobility, and the increased echo in their voices. These dragons are known for having rather interesting horns, spirals or straight, both or other. They can have feather here and there, and when physical entirely, their forms may be scaled, feathered, or smooth skinned.

Elemental Power:
Spirit dragons come in a wide array- and none but the very oldest can claim to have mastered all areas. The common abilities of the Spirit Dragons is that they can, and do, use their ghostly visage to confuse and terrify their enemies, their breath weapon emitting ghostly vapor that entraps the enemy, causing the enemy to hear chanting, and hallucinate, which doesn't help if they're unable to tell the real Spirit dragon from its visions. Many become quite good at curses, and dark forms of magic, but can also be healers of the mind, heart, and soul. They can commune with the dead, and even summon spirits to fight with them.
They are creatures known to take vengence, and will never let their revenge go. It is incredibly hard to kill a spirit dragon outright, since much of them is spirit form- one would have to catch one when most of it is physical, and then hope it doesn't reach out to any other spirit Dragons near by, who can not only heal, but guide spirits back to their own bodies, making them one of a select scant few breeds that are capable of directly returning life to the dead.
They can, at their most powerful, posses an enemy and use it as they would a puppet- but this is usually saved for last, and is a skill that few master. It takes most of their energy to manage, and all of their focus- leaving them more vulnerable to attack. They are capable of making their markings glow and stay visible after fading to near invisibility, which gives off a very spooky aura about them. When Spirit Dragons die, their spirits remain in the realm of the living, visible only to others of their own breed. Rumor has it that Spirit Dragons can absorb the other spirits and live all as one in a single body- which might be one reason some are so powerful.

Mental

Size [H]10ft-15ft [L]35ft-95ft

Eggs: Mental Dragon Eggs are round, and an oddly chrome silver, their surface ultra reflective. Sometimes, the more magically intimate folks and dragons can see hints of movement in the surface of the shell, just as a crystal ball might reveal. These 2.5ft eggs (all the way around) aren't the biggest, but are, in their simple shine, fairly pretty. They share a similar nesting arrangement as Spirit Dragons, having objects around the nest with spiritual or mental magics.

Color:
Mental Dragons come in many colors, often lingering in the purple range, but can be yellows, tans, pinks, dark burgundy, black, white, or...pretty much anything. The powers of the mind don't seem to take any specific colorations, and their patterns can often be seen in colors that stand out on their bodies.

Body:
Mental Dragons come in any body type, but are themselves one of the smaller breeds. Most unusually about this breed is that they often have at least three eyes, one in the center of their forheads, though it isn't unheard of for eyes to show up almost like jeweled, protected centers along most any part of their bodies, including their horns, sides, tails, and so on. Non mental dragons who have a many-eyed parent might just find themselves bearing the multi-eyed gene- and sometimes, even if their parents did not have them! Their wings are usually sailed, supporting their scaled bodies easily. Feathers are not common in this breed, but neither are they unheard of. Some mental dragons are prone to having multiple limbs, too. They are known to have unconnected floating trinkets about them, or even parts of themselves! These curious dragons confuse quite a lot of people.

Elemental Power:
Mental dragons have a strange breath weapon, a beam of psychosis waves, which not only leave the enemy in pain, but can also completely disorient them. Once disoriented, a mental dragons true power can be unleashed, telekinesis being its main weapon. They are known to thrash their enemies, break their wings, necks or whatever else they can get at. Like most powerful attacks though, this requires a lot of focus and energy, and being somewhat close to the target- long range telekinesis isn't nearly as effective. Powers of moving objects with thoughts is shared only with Space dragons. Mental dragons can also fling objects at enemies, and usually have a small arsenal of throwing weapons and grenades- not a fun mix to deal with.

Shadow

Size [H]10ft-20ft [L]90ft-135ft

Eggs: The eggs of these dragons is clear as a water or glass's egg, and moderately sized, roughly 4.5ft high by 3.5 ft around, oval-egg shaped. Being crystal clear does not make it any easier to see the dragon inside, for the entire inner egg is clouded with constantly moving blackness, shot through with slilvers and flecks of reflective material. No one is sure why these eggs cloud over like they do- in known 'dead' eggs that were donated to science, the eggs apparently have two shell layers- with liquid between the outer shell and the inner shell. The inner shell is solid black, while the liquid between is thought to aid in comforting the infant within, for the inner egg almost floats, rocked by liquid shadow. It is thought the double layering of dark material between the outer shell and inner shell is done to prevent as much light as possible. Another option is tenting the eggs with wings, which any dragon can do, if it has dark wings and non transparent sails. This option is best left to Shadow parents! Candidates may be allowed to spend time under the protective wings, but to gain such permission is usually an act of great trust, or friendship from the mother dragon- or father dragon.

These eggs require very little, but the little they need is absolutely vital to their survival. Warmth, without light is the first key, the second, that they be in as total darkness as possible. While not harmful, candidates are advised to not lift the metallic tents that protect the young, and so touching a living shadow egg is rare. However, they are permitted to put their hands UNDER the lightless 'tent' if the egg was laid on sand, but they must be very careful not to hurt the egg- these dragons are very rare due to most dying in the shell, and mothers can be very protective of their fragile babies.

Color:
Shadow Dragons are notoriously, and almost all, uniformly black as pitch. They do not glow, nor do they usually have any marking about them that is flashy. Most of their crystals form in darker colors, but do not have to be black. Their inner mouths and even their teeth are dark greys and blacks, while their eyes are the most piercing colors, or at least, they look that way because they have no other bright colors. Their skin may be a very deep, darrrrk purple, blue, or green, or have a raven shine like oil on water, or have the patterning of a black jaguar. No matter what color the dragon itself is, when it sinks into its own shadows, it becomes solid black, even its eyes.

Body:
These dragons are not very tall at the shoulder, but that's just fine for them. Their skin, which is usually not scaled, has a constant wet look, even when dry (like water dragons)- except the shine on these dragons is...somewhat more hypnotizing to watch. They have sharp talons and fangs, and horns in any array and shape, though are most commonly long, gently curved and slender. They usually have fairly sharp spines in one or two rows down their backs, and their long, noodled bodies, and down their tails to a bladed tail end.
They have wings which, in flight, make their entire bodies look sharp, if you see them at all. Their overly reflective skins make them very hard to pick out, even in daylight- part of their powers. If one sees them at all, they'll see a shimmering haze in the sky- which could be mistaken for just about anything that might flash high up in the air, from a plane to a mirage. They almost always have slick skin, with very short, super shiny fur being possible but unlikely. Plated scales don't seem to be very common here. They have long, sloped narrow faces, sometimes with dark, frightening mask-like faces being uncommon.

Elemental Power:
Shadow Dragons have a breath attack that is, as one might guess, made up of shadows. While most breath attacks seem to carry some kind of heat, the shots of this viscous shadow are uncomfortably cold at the same time they hurt and deteriorate the skin away. A shot to the eyes is usually what a Shadow aims for- not only will it instantly blind, the goop will usually eat away the eyes and facial tissues- which is pretty gross. Shadow Dragons can also shadow-step, melting into their own shadows and teleporting without chaos to another place, usually within a fifty mile area, though this skill can be improved upon to cover a few more miles distance. While it is possible to teleport up to the limit mentioned, this process takes a lot of power to accomplish, and the dragon would not be able to teleport more than once in a day to a far location. Small jumps take less, but too many in a short period of time will exhaust the dragon and it could face energy-shock or even death if overtaxed.

This does take a lot of effort, but with training can even be done several times rapidly midair, leaving smokey shadow whisps in its wake. They can also, alternatively, melt flat and crawl, making themselves as thinned out as possible. This skill takes a very long time to perfect, and can, depending on the riders own element, even include their own rider if they unite their powers at once and blend them together. Some Shadow Dragons shadow-meld directly onto another dragon in an attempt to suffocate them. Lesser dual elements with half shadow as a secondary element cannot perform the higher tiers of power shown here. Another, rarer gift of Shadow dragons is their ability to see through illusions, depending on the enemy's level of control over the element. They cannot however, see through technology dragon holograms, which is often not made of magic, but mechanical in nature. (Shadow Sight is magical.) It takes a lot to trick a Shadow with this skill. Shadow dragons have a few weaknesses though- They can't stand fire, (fire itself, they can be friends with fire dragons) and any enemy fire dragon is to be avoided. Light dragons, solar dragons, and any dragon that can in any way shoot any form of light is to be avoided too, for their shots do quite a lot of damage. Mourning

Size [H]12ft-18ft [L] 75ft-95ft, some 110ft

Eggs: The eggs of this despairing Dragon are usually shades of depressingly gray, slate blue, blue, and sometimes black. They lack shine, and typically make others ill at ease around them. Odd pock marks in the larger than necessary eggs capture sound and often make crying or wailing sounds, though whether this is the dragon itself, or the shell, no one is particularly sure. The eggs want for nothing, and as odd as it may seem, often do well without any special treatment- even growing better from neglect. They make their parents irritable, or, usually, depressed, or guilty over the egg. Mourning eggs are a sorrowful affair, and as they can turn up somewhat randomly from time to time, the mother dragon often isn't of the same breed. A real Mourning dragon mother would probably do nothing but make sure no one hurt the egg.

Color:

Mourning dragons, like their eggs, are depressing colors. They rarely have any bright color to them, and if they do, its usually in mockery of something, such as splatters of blood which look all too real, markings and skin patterns that looks distressingly like real wounds, even mimicking the shine of blood when such markings exist. Otherwise, mourning dragons are dull, grays, blues, browns and other lackluster colors.

Body:

Many mourning dragons have more than two wings, often this can be four to six wings- The first wings usually are those from shoulders, while the others, if present at all, may arrange themselves with a pair along the hips and front legs, all legs and shoulder, or rarely four from shoulders and two from hips.

Like Sound dragons, mourning dragons often (but not always) have many hollow pit-like areas in their skins and scales, distributed over their bodies in places that catch the flow of wind when they fly. They are built to make sound- but not the same as said element. Their bodies are often lower slung, those bearing limb-wings almost always in a crouch like way, some even splaying a bit. A notable feature that most actually have are two extremely long 'digits' framing their backs around the main 'saddle' area, one dead center, and two supporting ones framing the inner lines, with a shield-like sail. This is literally a modified 'cockpit' sort of extra 'wing' set, used to clamp down around their own riders. For whatever reason, anything inside this protective embrace can withstand unfathomable G-Forces and terrible sounds- Those inside are immune to the despairing sounds. These dragons are almost always lean, suited to diving and soaring, and they have huge lungs to support long bursts of mourning-song.

Elemental Power:

Mourning dragons, despite ANY personality traits an individual opponent might have, are known to spread despair, torment, sorrow, fear, sadness, and anything else that might be considered bad. This doesn't mean the dragon itself doesn't care about others, or even is evil, nor do they suffer from their own element, it's just their nature to cause sorrow, and so they have come to be seen as bad luck even though they can learn to diffuse their effect on those around them unless doing so purpose to attack.

When attacking, these dragons fly up as high as they can, take in as much air as possible- (They can even filter fresh air under their protective shields!) and dive. Their primary attack is sonic booms, with wailing screams and cries, whispers of terror and dread filling anyone within the vicinity of these dragons.

Whole wings have been known to be made up of these dragons in the past, and the effectiveness was devastating. Their speed is near unmatched, tied equals of the electric and air dragons. Their breath weapon is much like concentrated sonic-boom explosions, which they delight in shooting off. Even being near these dragons can cause extreme misery in people, sometimes extended exposure can lead to suicidal tendencies- though, the actual rider of these dragons becomes immune after a little while....if they don't disown their hatchlings right away. These dragons, despite their mournful visage, are actually dreadfully loyal to their riders and friends, but any enemy of theirs had best be on guard.

Arcane | Magic | Spellweaver

Size: [H] 6ft-25ft [L] 10ft-75ft

Eggs: Eggs come in large and small sizes at random, and come in many colors. The eggs have runes on them that also change color! Arcane Dragons are a little random, and their size seems to be all over the place! Care of the eggs requires books and papers, and written spells. Other objects sought after would be magical objects, imbued stones and other things full of magic. The better the materials, the better off the baby will be! Should a Null Dragon ever lay a magic egg, it should be removed and fostered- for the sake of parent and child. (And, they should never meet, either). One item always included in the nests- must be included- is a staff lovingly created by the mother Arcane Dragon. Imbued with magic, it will serve as a prized possession- a useful one - for the young dragon. No one knows how or why the staves seem to grow with the hatchling, but they do, and they take them everywhere. If the mother or father is not a magic dragon, a Rookery Keeper of the magic element will assist.

Color:
Arcane dragons vary in color wildly, though the most innately powerful of them tend to have either very light, or dark colors. Some say that it is a reflection of the spectrum of magic they are attuned to, but this is mostly superstition. Their markings usually show up as they age, coming in the form of arcane symbols or writings.
The symbols, or writing will either enlarge as the dragon does, or more of them will appear to fill in the added 'canvas'. The markings almost always glow when they are using their magic, though some glow all of the time, and some of them are only visible to other magic elements. The (mostly) invisible markings are the most rare, and tend to be much more elaborate combinations of symbols and writing.

Body:
They tend to be smaller, and shorter dragons sometimes mistaken for other breeds when young, with a few exceptions, though since they can also be kind of random, they can sometimes be bigger. Their bodies are covered in scales, and none have fur or feathers as a base coat. Either plated scale, smooth scale, or reptilian skins are the options. Their horns usually curve, but stay out of the way usually, facing away from ones face and do not obscure vision. Often they come in antler form, or ram-like, but any configuration is okay.

They can have fur, in the form of manes, or on back of their legs but otherwise tend to be devoid of fluff. If any feathers are present, they are always along the edges of their features and never covering large areas of their hide. It's very rare for any of them to have any feathers on their wings, and if they do it is almost always along the edges of the wings instead of covering the membrane. Another type of wing that can show up are insectoid wings, in sets of two to six. They are not resistant to any specific elements, and their runes can burn their own fur- which is why they do not have coats. If they ever did, they eventually died out.

Special:
This breed of dragon can co-exist with all other breeds.....except Null dragons. They cannot go near each other, for in canceling each other out, they weaken one another and they, typically, hate each other. There are no Null/Arcanes, and there are no Arcane/Nulls. If in the same wing, they will always be the furthest apart, being on the opposite leading edges as far away as physically possible- close contact could spell disaster /for everyone/. THESE BREEDS MUST NOT COME IN CONTACT. Avoiding death for both parties, whether they intend harm on one another or not, is not easy- therefore contact must be avoided.

Elemental Power:

They have no breath weapon.
The most unique feature of the magic element is that it is very hard to pinpoint precisely what they can, or cannot do under the right circumstances. As a whole undefinable, although it is very easy to define what an individual dragon can do.

A magic dragon can only use abilities it has learned, which are called 'Spells', each one is very clearly defined and difficult, if not impossible to alter on the fly. The dragons have to be very precise when invoking it, or it often fails entirely or effects someone they did not intend it to (most often themselves).

They start out with little, or no abilities and must learn new ones from others, or attempt to develop their own. The latter of which is very difficult, and very time consuming, however the former is difficult since training often comes at a price or reward for some deed.

An example:
Fireball
Action: the dragon must speak for 5 seconds, and then point at the target.
Effect: A small fast streak of fire shoots from the dragons finger tip and travels in a straight line to the target, or after it travels 100ft, or comes into contact with another object.
Upon impact, or maximum distance the streak of fire explodes into a massive burst of flame, searing everything within fifteen feet of the center. The stronger the dragon is, the more damaging the attack, but even at its most basic level it is most likely fatal to humans, and likely to ignite everything within the area of effect.
Most of the damage is derived from the heat, and carries only minor concussive force.

With a dual element, the non magic elements type would be stronger, while its opposing type would be weaker from the one using it.

Additionally, certain Spells can be purchased from the magic shop for 'money' points. (There will be some things for other elements too!)
Any questions you might have regarding this breed should be sent to Thalron

Null

Size [H]7ft-10ft, sometimes up to 25ft [L] 25ft-38ft, sometimes 75ft

Eggs: The eggs of Null dragons are, quite frankly, disliked. Even mourning dragon eggs are more welcome. Null Dragon eggs sap the health and magic, and energy, away from other dragon eggs to keep themselves alive. However, while the hatchlings of those eggs may be horrendously weakened, even twiggy and thin, they usually -if they survive at all- grow into the strongest members of a wing. The hard part is surviving at all. Null Dragons are almost always the last to lay their eggs- and usually no one ever seems to recall them doing so, so perhaps they come in the night.
Some are crafty and bury their eggs in sand beneath the other eggs of other clutches, and others keep their eggs fed on the eggs of other magical creatures- a practice that has led many of those creatures to be very rare indeed. Their eggs can be from emu sized to two ft high and around, and are usually gray or mottled moss and slate colored.
When a Null dragon egg is born to another dragon breed, these seemingly trickster eggs even adopt the shells of other dragon eggs- just to be near the rest of the clutch. (And sometimes, the stronger Null dragons own null eggs do this, willed to hide in plain sight). The null dragon babies do not, however, become parasites of the egg they look like- it is simply their own egg with an extra thin outer shell. Some can detect the magical pull on these eggs, but its quite faint, and another null dragon isn't about to point it out.

Color:
Null Dragons, by their very nature, take from the clutches around them, and any nearby dragons during their development. For example, say a Null egg matured surrounded by a fire, a solar, a water and a shadow- the Null Dragon would not only bear the color instances of all of those dragons, but it would also look like it was made up of their parts. Due to this, Null dragons are based entirely on other dragons. (they're so original and win all the awards.) It's most amusing when the Null hatches before the other eggs, because they're somewhat of a preview to what might be in the shell around them.

Body:
Just as their colors can be...varied, and nearly on chaotic levels, the bodies of Null dragons are naturally chimeric, without actually being that mutation. Their entire bodies sport features from eggs around them- even if it means one of their legs looks like a fires, and the other like an air, with a spirits face, an earths tail, and a bones twiggy middle, and insect wings to boot. They can have all types of scales, fur types, feathers, sails odd wings, and mismatched portions.

Elemental Power:
Literally, none. Null dragons have no elemental power and no breath weapon. They basically drain energy, and once the enemies elements/magic are weakened enough they start getting physically weak. The amount, radius, and speed that its drained or nullified would depend on the strength of the Null dragon vs the strength of the enemy. They can also redirect attacks that are sent their way, though their ability to redirect with accuracy is not quite skilled. These dragons, while being seemingly weak and pointless, are actually very dangerous- by their very nature of sapping energy and magic, they endanger any and all dragons who fly, since almost all dragons are heavily dependent on magic- especially wingless flyers. Flight magic is perhaps the /only/ type of magic these dragons have, other than the magic that keeps their mismatched bodies alive. If their rider was any kind of mage prior to bonding, they're not now. Woe for the elves who are Null Riders.

Luck

Size [H] 20ft-35ftft [L]100ft-290ft

Eggs: Usually one half will be Silver & Gold with white or black swirling markings, while the
other side is the opposite, Gold & Silver with the opposite colored markings. These eggs are pretty big, at 5.5ft tall and 6-7ft around. These eggs ALWAYS contain twins of opposite genders. Their nests are usually somewhat amusing, along with gems and gold, their nest is littered with tokens of fortune and prosperity. Anything from the more serious items and tokens to ward off evil, to the silly and ridiculous items like lucky rabbits feet. Colored fabric in red, gold, or green, or any other lucky color seems to work. They also seem to be very fond of wind chimes, and gold, silver, or platinum chains.

Color:
Luck Dragons are all about lights and dark colors together, usually if they are a light color, they will have dark swirling patterns, and if they are a dark base, they'll have light colored markings. In any case, they hatch in twins so both examples of their marking and colors will be seen. They are identical in build, height, and length to each other- the only differences being their voices and anatomy, and their colors. They can come in any color combinations, so long as the markings on one match the other, and one being dark with the other light. Their horns, claws, spines or feathers usually end up silver/gold, or another metallic color but could be just about anything.

Body:
While being of a taller frame, luck dragons are among the group of dragons nicknamed 'noodle' dragons. Likewise, they're among the longest- if not the longest- dragons short of titans. No matter what colors they are, they all have a metallic sheen to their scales, hides, feathers and fur. They have long whiskers, which can be in one to six pairs, long to short. They have a soft mane from head to almost the end of the tail, which ends in a larger plume. This mane could also be made of feathers, or in some cases, made of concave shell-like feather shaped scales. Their wings are always half feathered an half sailed, with any configuration of digits (wing fingers) or pinions. They are quite glorious to see together, and for that matter, they are almost always together. Typically, this breed of dragon is covered in shell like scales, with a row of fur down their sides, which cascades over their forms. They can also appear to be fully furred, with shell scales beneath their coats. When they move, they are capable of giving off a pleasant sound, not unlike wind chimes.

Elemental Power:
Luck dragons do, as their name suggests, have a mostly subconscious ability to waver things of chance. The youngest or unskilled of them can not control how things go, and even the most skilled can only partly bend chance events to their desires. Willfully changing something to be a sure thing can take a lot out of these dragons as a pair, and both have to agree on the outcome. Aside from this play over chance, luck dragons are well equipped to fight with a most unexpected set of breath weapons- They fire off super heated, molten diamond, which can be in almost beam form, scatter shot, or even in molten liquid form in the same way a water dragon can fire off its jets, so can Luck Dragons. That isn't to say they are not capable of bending this material also- because they can and do. When not fighting, or else simply on their own time, Luck dragons enjoy crafting their breath 'weapon' into sculptures- which, undoubtedly, sell for a lot. The scales of luck dragons are said to bring good fortune and prosperity, and from the oldest dragons, this might actually be true!

Uncommon Combination Dragons
Steam

Size [H] 17ft-20ft [L] 78ft-145ft

Eggs: These eggs must be kept very warm, and much like their water side, kept in a large container of water, which is usually pretty hot. A second, also common practice is to keep the eggs suspended in a special egg holder, just above the water, which is kept boiling and steaming at all times. The eggs are known to give off quite a lot of steam themselves, and are usually blue-gray with streaks of white about them. Touching is semi-safe, but the eggs tend to be kept too hot for touching.

Color:
Steam Dragons are usually greys and silvers, sometimes brassy colors, blues, reds, and often mixed hues of their parents. The steam vapor they constantly give off is always white. Their colors can be based on fish, or heat, or both.

Body:
With both water and fire for parents, Steam dragon bodies come in many shapes, sometimes a mix of stockyness of the fires, and the slender waters, blending out into an even mix. Most of them retain the length of the Waters, and often have just under the height of the Fires. Their horns, scales, wings, and much of their bodies is most often covered in plate-type scales, which have vents sometimes found in fire dragons, here in full force. From these vents, steam escapes quite often, and can be anywhere from a gentle, relaxing warmth to skin melting scalding.

Elemental Power:
Steam dragons have a notoriously strong breath weapon, being high powered shots of steam, let off in pressurized jets. Getting caught in the line of fire of a serious attack can leave an enemy screaming, its scales, skin, fur or feathers melting. Humans and elves, lucky to survive-or wanting to, after the scarring and permanent nerve damage. Steam Dragons probably have some kind of acidic nature, from time to time, especially if their parentage is that of magma and water. They can do other, non deadly things with their steam, too, from cleaning things, to treating muscle aches with constant warmth, to many other tasks that steaming can be good for.

Parent Elements:
Water & Fire dragons can breed to make Steam Dragons, though it is also possible for Magma x Water, and rarely other elements that have heat induced powers.
