Averon
Tag: Myre, and Rocherion

Averon was rather used to odd things, and odd people, both of them he dealt with nearly on a daily basis... And while he approached the first behemoth of a centaur, he wasn't expecting a miniature one to 'sneak' up behind him. He paused for a moment and deftly dispensed another hand of cards to the comparitively short creature, though to tell the truth, she wasn't 'much' shorter than himself. If he was standing, of course. "Sure, do you know how to play rummy?" He asked as he finished handing out the remainder of her cards. The way he flicked them into place, as well as the fact he didn't even look towards the cards while doing so gave off a vibe that he was... likely a lot better at cards than the average person, fortunately he was not the kind to manufacture his own luck. Not without a important bet on the line anyways.

...Or if he just didn't like someone... Or if he was showing off... or... Well, okay maybe he did it somewhat often.

"I'd say this is the anti-crowd club, but I get the feeling that'd end up being an oxymoron." He chuckled somewhat at his own joke, though he got a thought and set down his cards face down, opened up one of the new packs of cards, deciding to give her a small demo to be sure she got the overall gist as he explained. He hardly looked down at the cards as he dealt and played a small round of cards, somehow miraculously getting all the cards he needed from the deck in order to give some good examples. He was a little bit fast in the explanation, but not overly so, and would happily explain any of the rules again during the game.

He picked up his cards again as the players had everything in order now... Well, almost everything. "Oh, I'm Averon. I'd introduce Roche, but I'm guessing you've at least herd each others names." It was a somewhat safe assumption, as they probably traveled together to the city, and not in a terribly large group either... At least from what he had heard... Heheh... Herd. Not that you could really tell the slight change in tone with all this music blaring, but oh well. He had plenty of times to slip in horse jokes and puns in the future. Hopefully they didn't punch as hard as they kicked, or he imagined there would be many bruises waiting for him in the future.

During the concert, and the anthems and speeches, Terminus had meandered off to one side of the stage, out of sight for the moment. He knew his country being 'Neutral' wasn't an easy thing to really describe. He did in fact support the war efforts, but was complicated- He couldn't directly engage in war, for multiple reasons, but instead did his best to send supplies to those who needed it. On the surface, they looked neutral, but anyone overly high ranking in their military knew that there were some efforts into research covering the many forms of possession, such as the control over other beings like some miasma or Spirit dragons could do, but in the last two hundred or so years, nothing really helpful had come up, aside from the idea that there was some means of controlling Illirian, a magic thing most likely.

That bit of information had come through the grapevine from a rider and dragon that had escaped Nondir a few years ago, and it had only confirmed some hypothesis about how it had been done. They were not sure how or where Vicarious had obtained whatever token it was that held the Titan's Soul, but however it had been done, it was their only lead for finding a solution...and to do such research without focusing on fighting the war directly, they chose neutrality. Terminus was also positive, given his arsenal, that if Vicarous was a fool enough to threaten war with /him/ that Nondir would be a blackened crater. It was a basic understanding between the evil false emperor and the Technology Titan- You attack Aesulla or the country at all, and we drop every bomb we have. Vicarous was such an evil soul, he believed it, without question that another being would care so little for the innocent people of Nondir. The Technology Titan knew he probably wouldn't actually bomb them if he had the choice, but even so, they could defend themselves.

But to the people as a whole, the city was a bastion of equality and neutrality, even if neutral wasn't the same as just not getting involved. At least they didn't sell weapons- to either side. Aesulla always made sure to lose a lot of food cargo parcels on the way to the higher class areas in nondir- all paid for by the people and terminus, things they made sure the lower class got. Hell, they even made huge efforts to get as many people out of Nondir as possible using candidacy. They let so many people in... Sometimes the help from other countries- Iaramira included, was all they had to survive on. The Earthquakes had been a blessing and a curse- on one hand, so many had died, and on the other, it allowed the other countries, during a time of peace to come in and help build new things and fix the slums into something worth living in. Apartments, with real electricity, a lot of which was paid for by none other than Aesulla. Sure the politics were sticky but they did have an upperhand, an unspoken blackmail- Attack and we respond a thousandfold.

He sighed a little, heavy thoughts filling him. These days, it was hard not to imagine worse case scenarios- But for now he focused on the concert and things going on, keeping an eye on things in more than one way. He hoped between songs the rockstar would remember to announce their special guest...

Faerveren; tag Thalron, all

As the final notes of her first song died down, Faerveren paused to simply bask in the rush of applause from the crowd, grinning broadly and striding slowly across the stage. In spite of everything, she was enjoying herself; this was going to be her last concert for at least the next several months, but she couldn't deny the rush that being on stage in front of so many people gave her. She wasn't present just to entertain, however. Before the show, she'd spoken with Terminus about one of the visiting dignitaries joining them in the audience that night, and the Titan had decided that she ought to be the one to announce his presence in order to avoid an unnecessary interruption to the show.

"This party's just getting started," she called into the mic once the cheering abated slightly, though that only succeeded in drawing yet more screams and shouts from the crowd. "But before I move onto my next song, there's a special visitor in the crowd I'd like to introduce you all to."

As if on cue, giant spotlights clicked on overhead and swept the crowd, as if to search for this mysterious being. Most people wouldn't recognize him in his humanoid form, of course, but once she made it clear who he was, she did not doubt that he'd receive a standing ovation.

"You might not know him by name, but I'm sure you all remember what he did. He blasted a hole in Nondir a mile wide and helped save Yggdrasil's life. Not only that, but he saved the life of hundred of dragons and riders by teleporting them away from the battlefield," Fae described, and already the cheers were rising again. There were rumors abounding concerning this particular person of interest, whose name was not commonly known--at least not yet. Without warning the spotlights swung back to the VIP section and focused on a rather plain looking human-form dragon. "Aesulla, let's make some noise for Lightning/Earth Titan Thalron!"

Myre
Tag: Averon and Rocherion

Hands on the junction were her humanoid half melded into the equine half of her body, Myre studied the way that the human deftly shuffled and dealt the cards. She’d played similar games amongst herd mates when she had been frolicking and goofing off, but she doubted that a lot of the games were the same as what she would be seeing now. Likely, there were some similarities, but rules and tactics, as well as names, were probably lost in translation once the cultures had separated and centaurs had disappeared from the annals of history. Case and point when the name of the game was declared as something that they called ‘rummy’. A thin brow quirked and the petite centaur pursed her lips, “That’s an alcoholic drink, isn’t it? Is this a drinking game?” she asked, settling into a kneel near them so that she could pick up her cards and lounge at ease.

Unfortunately this put her at what was likely the shortest level of the three, but Myre forced herself to ignore it, tossing her lank braid over one shoulder and shuffling through the hand she’d been dealt, brows furrowed.

“I’d take the anti-crowd club over the frolicking mess over there.” Myre twitched her head in the direction of the motley crew before the stage. “Not that I dislike a bit of fun now and then, but I’m used to plains. Cramped quarters and so many people and you may start to feel…smothered.” She grimaced. Especially at her size. It was a wonder humans could stand being packed in so close to one another. It made their hovels and homes, as well as grand events like these look like a river in the spring when the salmon returned. A mess of crowded bodies all wandering their own way.

Their dealer was kind enough to give her a quick run through of how the game was played, and her eyes lit up a touch as she recognized nuances of other games she’d known within the rules. The rest should be easy enough to pick up. She nodded her understanding and unfolded her cards like a fan in her palm, drawing them close to her chest and away from the eyes of her companions. She frowned, quirking a brow at Averon, “Do you deal as you do for a particular reason?” there was a light edge of teasing in her voice, but a flicker of warning in her eyes. Such an odd trait from a dealer made her wonder if this game would start off on a deceptive note.

“I am called Myre.” She said by way of introduction. “Well…yes, I’m familiar with Rocherion in passing. Little more than that.” She glanced at the other centaur before she went on explaining.

“Our group is small enough that it was easy enough for me to learn the names…that and I was sort of sent to…record…what happened to us.” She scratched the nape of her neck, cutting off into a mumble as she spoke. It was clear that she wasn’t comfortable with her assigned role, but she clearly wore candidates garb as well, so the rebellion was clear enough.

Maksim
Tag: Zemal

"That was--?"

His incredulity was cut short but a particular loud cheer surrounding the stage. Fae was saying something, but Maksim didn't care what it was. Nothing mattered so much as what he'd just heard, and he continued to stare, slightly slack-jawed and obviously bewildered, at the elf who stood before him.

Zemal died? He could feel his heart doing flip-flops in his chest, and his chest cavity suddenly felt tight. He took a step back, more out of surprise than disgust. If he died, then how was this possible? He reached out, almost as he if meant to touch Zemal and ascertain that he was real, but apparently though better of it at the last moment and dropped his hand listlessly back down to his side.

This was a lot to absorb. Was it strange for a part of him to feel slightly bitter? Maksim didn't envy Zemal, not really. He certainly didn't envy him the dying part. But here he stood, successful despite everything that had happened to him, a full entourage with gryphons, of all things. Who wouldn't be jealous? He'd thrived where Maksim had known struggle, and that was hard to swallow.

But Zemal was better than this pettiness.

"If Vicarous found you," He began slowly, "And got an assassin to kill you, how are you still alive? Not that I'm not grateful," He added quickly. "I prefer you this way. But, I don't.." He trailed off, and then sighed.

"I don't understand."

Zemal; tag Maksim

If Maksim was more open to physical affection and if they weren't standing in front of several thousand people, more than a few of them reporters who undoubtedly would love to splash the headlines with fabricated tales of the prince's illicit affair with another candidate, Zemal might have hugged him. Even if Maksim didn't appreciate it, maybe it would help him to feel better, to have some sort of solid comfort after everything that had happened over the last seven years. After all the upheaval and turmoil, it was nice to have familiar, normal ground to tread on--in a manner of speaking.

"Illirian brought me back," he explained with another tired sigh. "Yggdrasil tried, but the blade was cursed with Death energies. The only way he was able to save me was by trading the assassin's life for my own. It was... not an experience I care to repeat."

And that was putting it lightly. Zemal went nowhere without guards, and Ramahendra was always close by. He also perpetually wore armor beneath all of his clothing, the best lightweight top of the line body armor that could be produced. It might not stop an enduring onslaught but if anyone tried to stick a blade between his ribs again they'd find themselves sorely surprised--and then very quickly dead, if he had anything to say about it.

And that particular thought frightened him more than a little.

"As I said," Zemal finished with a small smile. "It has been a very interesting period of time for me. And to think, I was once voted to be the 'most likely to go nowhere that did not involve sports' when we were in school. Sure proved them wrong, didn't I?"

Cleric Lysander
Tag: Anyone!

"It's alright, dear. I can't pick you up. I know it's frightening, but try to make do. Yes, there are plenty of people, aren't there? And good smells, no doubt! But I'll make sure you're alright. Come on, now. This way."

It wouldn't be the first time Lysander got an odd look or two from a stranger. When one spent a lot of time alone, he made friends where he could... And in this case, his friend happened to be the service dog beside him. She pressed up against his leg, quivering slightly. It was unusual for Daisy to be distracted, but these were special circumstances. The air was practically thrumming with power, the positive energy of the Titans filling up the room. Everything was brighter here, more tangible. Lysander almost felt lighter than air. He clutched slightly at his chest, and tried not to breathe too quickly.

Oh, he was going to pass out.

How long had it been since he'd attended a hatching? It'd been far too long by his own account, and watching the events unfold on a television were certainly not the same as being present, in the moment, watching the dragons hatch and feeling the air change when they found a person to connect with. There was nothing like it in the world. How lucky these youngsters were, how privileged! He might have envied them, at one time, but Lysander knew that his life was blessed in a different way. Perhaps he could not be partnered with a dragon, but he could study them, speak with them.

Being here was a an honor. It was a change to socialize, to spread the teachings of the Selhanzian Order. But, perhaps most importantly, it was an opportunity to enjoy the company of the Titans. To Lysander, there was no sight lovelier. The air around him seemed to pulse with their power, raising the little hairs on the back of his neck and sending gooseflesh crawling down his skin. Surely, there was nothing so magnificent in the world as dragons.

He lingered in one of the entranceways, braced against a wall to catch his breath. Perhaps he took a bit longer than he needed; The idea of stepping out into the crowd was, in and of itself, exhausting. But he had so many questions, and if he collapsed... Well, so be it. It wasn't as if his health could get any worse.

"Daisy," He crooned to his dog, one slender hand swept over her head. "You know what to do," He encouraged her as he started forward, careful and slow so as to allow her companion enough time to keep up with her. "Nice and easy."

Nice and easy though his advance was, nothing prepared him for what awaited him at the end of his walk. The music was far too loud, and there was enough noise to drive a man's thoughts from his head. Without a word, he grimaced and lifted both hands to cover his ears. Despite the gesture, it didn't take much for his smile to return to his face. He lifted his voice, wavering and soft, to join the chorus of those around him.

"Isn't this wonderful!?"

Eidolon
Tag: Zemal, Maksim

Had she known Maksim would be here she would have arranged for a meeting between the two boys under a much better circumstance than the highly public and loud area such as the concert. But it had happened anyway, the boys always were inseparable from each other and that continued even here. She knew they felt uncomfortable in such a loud crowd without having to read it from their body language. The young girl flittering around wasn't helping either.

"How about we retire to the candidate VIP seating area?" She suggested casually. There was more to it than just to get the two out of the crowd, she could give them privacy there and Zemal would probably realize it upon her suggestion.

The VIP seating allowed for an area they could talk without worrying about interruptions from other candidates. She could also give them privacy by having guards stand outside the area where they could still protect their prince but not necessarily need to be right next to him since the seating area was secure and surrounded on all sides by guards. Eidolon could also craft an illusion of Zemal and his entourage so the two could interact without the worry of prying eyes. She could also make it seem as if Maksim did not follow the prince to the seating area if that was also something they preferred. It would take time for the two to reforge their bond after the changes that had happened after they had parted but she had no doubt of their ability to do so, just because Desneth was now titled Zemal did not change the boy who had grown and played with Maksim as children, it did not change the boy she had raised into a man.

Rocherion
Tag; Averon + Myre

Rocherion watched as the human started to shuffle the cards. Rummy was a good enough game to start with. The centaur watched Averon carefully as he shuffled the cards, a little impressed at the show. The centaur was suddenly thankful they weren't playing poker. The big roan had the distinct impression that if they were, and they had added betting to the mix...Well it's a good thing he wasn't one to bet much.

"Mind I call you Roch?"

"That's fine." Rocherion nodded as he picked up the cards. A good hand to start with. It was easy to fall back and relax a little bit even with all the noise around them, especially when the concert actually started up. His ears twitched, humans and elves were loud. Much louder than he had anticipated, though it was not a bad thing as all the attention was now on stage and Roch didn't mind that at all. It did make hearing the others a little hard though, so the big centaur leaned in a little bit with his ears perked towards the other candidate.

"I doubt anyone wants to get on my back." The centaur quirked a grin and illustrated why by sending a small electrical charge through his mane. It flared up and crackled with small jolts of harmless white sparks before fading away quickly to nothing.

"I would imagine it would end up much the same if anyone asked any one of us." As the big roan spoke he noticed another centaur approaching them. Roch remembered her name. Myre, the journeyman record keeper and that was about the extent of his knowledge about her. He offered the younger mare a small nod and scooted to let her get comfortable in their little corner. Rocherion was pleased to see she was dealt in easily enough. While he did like his solitude on occasion, in this big city centaurs needed to stick together.

The blue roan looked down to his cards and started to sort them. Not too bad of a hand but with rummy it always depended on the card that was drawn. He noticed the look that Myre gave the human and he resisted the urge to chuckle. Thankfully this was supposed to be a 'friendly' game and there were no bets. Roch nodded with Myre's earlier statement about knowing only in passing.

"We all traveled here together but most of us come from different family groups before being chosen as candidates." It didn't escape the big centaur that the younger mare didn't seemed to be too thrilled at being their records keeper. To be honest he did not envy her. The big roan picked up the first card from the deck to get the game started. He set down one small set of hearts and discarded a club to the discard pile.

Aralyn
tag Rurik

There! She found him. Weaving her way over to the younger candidate, Aralyn could barely hold in her excitement. New music? Oh man, this would be good. Andariel, her mother, had only ever let her listen to classical music and opera, claiming to her child that it would inspire her more than any other type of music. To the happy-go-lucky candidate, it would not matter if the music was nothing but screaming and harsh tones, she'd love it. Or at least enjoy it more than the opera music she'd been force fed. There had only been a single singer she'd enjoyed out of the whole bunch and she highly doubted Maksim Valeris would be in Aesulla.

"Isn't this neat!" she exclaimed as the lights began. Here it was, another thing she hadn't experienced much in her life yet-- strobe lights and fireworks. As they started up, Aralyn couldn't help but feel a rush of emotion. The way they looked was how she felt whenever she controlled ice. It was like stars before her eyes.

"I-- I don't know if it's a popular thing," Aralyn confessed as she got close enough to Rurik to hear the last few words of his sentence. She hadn't exactly told the tall candidate about her sheltered past and why she was in Aesulla to defy her parents and be a candidate, but she'd certainly intimated it at the least. While Rurik was her friend, they didn't exactly spend hours discussing her life before they met on Terminus' yacht nor his back in Nondir.

"What's her name again? Faerven or something like that? Um, no. I don't think I've heard her before!" she shouted over the opening chords of Fae's song. But as the music played, Aralyn had to struggle to keep herself in check. She wanted to bound the last few steps over to Rurik and hug him. The music was just about as delightful as she could have hoped for with the swooping lights and occasional boom-clap of fireworks in the sky. But she knew enough about Nondir that she most certainly could not do that. She'd probably terrify the poor child.

Instead, Aralyn settled for bouncing on her toes before rocking back to her heels. "Oh Rurik, it's lovely! Don't you just love it! Omigosh, I just can't even!" A smile so wide it felt like her cheeks were breaking was spread across Aralyn's face. If there were ice in front of her, she'd hardly need a break to rest as much energy as the song fed into her soul. It was a good thing most likely... right?

Karantos (and a little bit of Hanna)
tag Gilys

Karan watched, smug as could be, as Hanna strode over to where a male elf was standing, talking to a guy guarded by a gryphon or two. Huh. He must be important. He watched as Hanna tried to downplay the fact that he and Gilys had almost ruined her hair by dying it and preening over the dyed part. She slung her arm over the elf's shoulders and that's when Karan practically guffawed. Someone else wasn't taken in by the pretty face that Hanna had. The guy practically shoved her arm off his shoulders and it looked like he told her off.

Karan elbowed Gilys and nodded towards Hanna and the others. He expected her to throw a fit. What he didn't expect was for her face to cloud over and then clear up. From a distance he probably didn't see the sheen flit over her eyes for a second. All he saw was her spin on her heel, fling her arm behind her and make a rude gesture. Probably not the wisest idea, but it should save her from being mauled by the gryphon that had shoved his face in hers.

The arrival of an even more beautiful woman whose serenity overshadowed Hanna's tempestuous nature was apparently the last straw. Hanna had already taken a step away but now she stormed off, her shoulders shaking once or twice before her back snapped ramrod straight. His respect for her grew a little (so basically out of nothing to a small amount)-- so she wouldn't let them see her cry, eh? All right then.

"Gilys, oh my gosh, Gilys. Someone else spurned Her Highness's attentions! Man, that was good." All of this going down was great-- it distracted Karan from the music that had been playing. While not awful, it wasn't what he was used to. In fact, his ears kind of hurt from it. But as much as he disliked the cape they forced the centaurs to wear and as odd as the music was, he wouldn't leave. Not when it meant being outside.

Yggdrasil (And Mistoffelees), to Ly [tagging Silver]

Far below in the stands, within the VIP section alloted to family and dignitaries related to/or friends of candidates (IE, not the candidate section) was a place right on the sands at ground level down in front. Here, the Empress Alistiana and Life Titan (in humanoid form) Yggdrasil sat, watching the performance, when she sensed the arrival of another person, or rather, she happened to be looking when she saw a disabled person arrive. From where she was sitting, she could see the handicapped seating was almost all taken, and the ones left over were kind of difficult to get to. She leaned toward one of the guards near by and bid them to escort the man and his dog to a seat near her, which would give him front center seating as well as ground level, which was easier to manage than climbing the large seating area.

The guard, named Mistoffelees, bowed to the titan and smiled. He was a sleek black and white streaked humanoid dragon who almost looked like they were wearing a tux all the time- somewhat like a tuxedo cat really, but scaled. His voice was soft and smooth, “Yes, your highness. I will return shortly.” With that, the dragon seemed to vanish into a dark mist and was gone, moments later appearing near to Lysander, but not in a way that was startling- In fact, it was possible the dragon was a Mental/Shadow, given the ability to both teleport and project a soft presence of mind prior to appearing so that he would not frighten the man or his dog. He was utterly polite and even bowed to the man of the cloth, “Sir, my Lady would have you seat with us this fine night, so that you might find more comfortable seating arrangements for yourself and your fine canine friend. If you would come with me I can escort you there in a moment without you having to walk there at all.”

Watching the young gryphon shrink away made Rhoan think. She was just a little girl on a diplomatic mission! Well, technically she was here for surgery, but she could let herself thing it was a diplomatic mission for a while. Two birds with one stone, was it? "Nice to meet you, Aurinko. This is Rui, my bonded." Rhoan pointed to the seat beside her, which was occupied with the dragon in humanoid form. His blue eyes seemed to pierce through people as he read their general demeanor, but after a quick once-over, Rui gave the young gryphon a nod. Then the other introductions began. Poor gyphon.

"And this is Zulradenon! She's the dragonhound that hatched for me in Nondir when I started my candidacy, right after I lost my leg! Oh, and this is Ruya. She's a Mental/Dream dwarf. I hatched her from an egg in Nondir too!" Both mentioned creatures dipped their heads in acnowledgement, and Ruya's body swirled with the spiral patterns she so adored. Pleasure to meet you, Aurinko. The telepathic conversation may have come as a shock, but Ruya wouldn't press. Zulra sat and blinked at the gryphon before bowing her head in respect. Finally, Icarus poked his head out of Rhoan's shirt, disturbed by the noise. "Oh, and this is Icarus, my sugar glider. He's a ball full of trouble, the little fuzzbutt. Made me lose my leg, he did." She joked, giving the little creature a kiss before it disappeared into a pouch at Zulradenon's side.

"Are you with the prince? One of the gryphon companion guards? I'm not sure how that all works. I've never seen a gryphon, but I have seen dwarf phoenixes, if you can call them that." The little girl seemed genuine, at least.

Rurik to Aralyn
Rurik smiled, his fingers fiddling with the hem of his white shirt. The music washed over him, and he didn’t know what he was supposed to think. The other girl seemed to be happy. “I suppose it is---It’s rather loud and bright…” To him, loud and flashes of light and gunpowder were never a good thing--but he was always trying to create something --and explosions were never a good sign--but here everyone seemed to go crazy at them. He felt so out of place.

“You can’t even.? even what?” The terminology failed him. He had never used or heard of such a thing before. “I don’t understand….” But before he could say anything, the music got louder and seemed to vibrate in his chest. He turned back to the music briefly. Interesting, it was more pop than rock. And far different from anything he had heard on the streets of nondir.

“I. I suppose it is. I feel it’s too loud though.” This one was more quieter, as if the words would insult the other. She seemed so happy, and even joined in with the jumping up and down that others were doing. His eyes scanned the crowed, by Aralyn was the only familiar face he could see. Which was alright. In a way, Rurik himself was sheltered--never having access to anything to the times or if that wasn’t in his passion.

The music stopped briefly, and the singer, Faerveren, started talking. He listened--Oh so the titan dragon that had shown up was here! That was good, he supposed. “So that titan is here. I guess that’s a good thing, I suppose. Do you think we’ll ever get to meet him?” He idly wondered… his eyes blinking a bit when the strobing died down just a tad. He didn’t know how he was going to get used all of this. he was starting to think that concerts and really loud music was not his style. But, he would stay and wait--besides a feast had been promised, and he really would love to experience that as well. Besides, he was starting to get hungry.

“So, uhhh. Do we know how long this concert may last….or if there will be food soon?” He asked, having to move closer to her so that she could hear him better.

Lysander
Tag: Yggdrasil; Mistoffelees

Lysander wasn’t startled when he was approached by the dragon, and, to be frank, he had no idea why.

He’d never been this close to a dragon before in his life. Oh, he’d come close several times, when he could make his way to the front of the rafters in a hatching cavern. There were always a few humanoid dragons to watch the festivities, but Lysander had never been brave enough to approach them. This was different, however. This dragon was only a breath away, and— Bless, speaking to him. The human rested one hand against his chest, and took his breath in in a slightly awed gasp.

“Sir!” Was the first word he managed to speak. Was that the proper way to address a dragon, he wondered? “I’m sorry,” He added quickly after. “I’ve no idea how you’d like to be addressed. My name’s Lysander,” He added, prattling quickly, his excitement raising his voice just slightly. “A Selhanzian. Cleric.” He cleared his throat. Was he being boring? He didn’t wish to be boring. “And it’s a pleasure to meet you. I suppose I’ve— A few questions,” He admitted.

“You’d like me, where?” He heard the first time, of course. But it was hard to grasp. Lysander had never really been treated as someone special before, nor had he looked to be treated in such a manner. He was happy to simply drift along, feeding off of the excitement of the crowd and the hopeful joy of the youngsters gathered near the stage.

“I’m afraid I don’t understand,” He stepped forward regardless, slowly and carefully, knuckles shining white through his skin as he held on Daisy’s harness for support. “But if your mistress would like me to join her, it’d be an honor. She must be a marvelous woman,” He added, “To have a friend such as you.” Goodness, but his scales were glittery. It was difficult to resist the urge to touch, and belatedly, the cleric realized he had lifted his hand to do just that. He quickly dropped it back down to his side.

“I’m terribly sorry,” He breathed. “How embarrassing.”

Celestial, with dual main/fav elements: Mental/Shadow Chevalier Mistoffelees to Lysander {And Ygg}

The sleek dark dragon did his best to remain courteous, even if the being moved to touch him, he did not move as the hand reached to touch his scales, even when the human decided to drop his hand and apologized. What a pleasure it is to meet you as well, Selhanzian Cleric Lysander. You can call me by my given name, Mistoffelees, or Chevalier Mistoffelees, either is acceptable. My proper full, and far too wordy title is Chevalier Mistoffelees, high guard of her highness the Lady Yggdrasil, Life Titan of Lomira. He held a hand out and soon enough the human's own hand had joined his own. A wispy haze momentarily wove the air and when it cleared, the black tuxedo dragon and the human, with his dog too, had been transported from where they were to the comfortable seating that was open to Yggdrasil's left. Even in humanoid form, she was quite clearly recognizable. Under her elegant outfit were surely bandages of various sorts, but she was healing up fine from the incident two months ago- Being a life titan had some perks, including faster rapid healing.

The Mental shadow bowed to her as he reappeared, before introducing Lysander to her. My Lady Yggdrasil, this is the esteemed Selhanzian Cleric Lysander. To the human, he smiled again, his eyes like emerald greens and ocean blues, shining in the half light. Any questions you might have, I would be willing to answer, though I am sure my Lady would be happy to converse with you as well.

And so she was. Ygg leaned forward in her seat a little and reached out a hand, most likely to shake hands and greet the man properly. It is good to meet you, Lysander. Your name seems familiar to me, are you from Lomira, perhaps? It was said she knew the names of everyone in her lands, perhaps it was true? I saw that there were no more readily accessible handicapped seating areas open, and I felt perhaps it would be easier for you and your friend to sit here than try to clamber over the others to get to a middle seat up there in the stands. She looked ever so charming, calm and serene, and open to conversing. On her right, Alistiana, the Empress, was speaking to another dignitary and to the Gryphons with her, who were reporting what they'd heard from their children- Apparently Atunroria had spotted her osprey-feathered brother hiding behind a chair and sneaking into the grounds quite late, which only made Elara grind his beak. That boy, he'd have to be spoken to...But after the event...

“Wait— Who!?” His astonishment was lost in the blink of an eye, replaced with momentary fear. His body felt suspended, cold, and then— Suddenly, quite suddenly, there was firm ground beneath him again. He stumbled forward, and was glad when his canine pressed against his legs to steady him. he was certain he knew what he had heard. Absorbing it was another matter all together. High guard of Lady Yggdrasil?

He meant to glance back, to look to Mistoffelees for answers, but instead, his yes fixed on another figure.

She could be no other than the Lady Yggdrasil.

She was light itself, warm and radiant. He’d never seen a woman so soft, so gentle, so much like a queen that he felt the only proper response would be to fall to his knees. The power of the Titans was legendary, but being in the presence of one, of his own Lady, was overwhelming. The priest took in his breath and averted his eyes. It felt, almost, that to look upon her so plainly was rude. What right had he?

He couldn’t get to his knees, but he could bow. He did so, his breath heavy as he crossed his arms across his chest, hands touching the opposite shoulders, like an embrace. It was the standard greeting of his Order, and he could think of no one better suited for it than his Lady.

“You’re too kind,” He managed at last. His voice was thick with emotion, and he felt tears prick at the back of his eyes. “I would have been happy to see from the back. I simply wished to attend. To sit near you is an honor I could only dream of,” He whispered. His voice refused to get any louder. “Thank you. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve your gaze.” He was grateful for her thoughtfulness. Standing was tiring, and walking even more so. He wanted a rest, and glanced at the vacant seat to her left, but didn’t dare to ask.

“Yes. I mean--" He broke off, and cleared his throat. "That's my name. Lysander, that is. And yes, I'm from Lomira. I've been watching you. Not very closely!" He added, afraid that he had perhaps, overstepped his bounds. "You were my Titan. Are my Titan. Your Guard was so polite. Quite,” He added, not wishing to dismiss Mistoffelees or appear rude. He was also quite in a hurry to change the subject. Gracious goodness. He was rambling.

He turned to address the other dragon directly. “Thank you for bringing me here.”

Tagged: Zemal; Eidolon

He wanted to do something. He wanted to reach out, to touch Zemal, to do something to make this better. But he didn’t know if that would actually make anything better. How could he make this better? Maksim had always been friendly with people before, but he seldom cared about them. Crass as it sounded, Maksim cared about very few people. He cared about his family, he supposed. He missed his brothers and his mother. He could respect what his father tried to do, even if he didn’t agree.

And, of course, he had missed Desneth.

Desneth who had suffered, who had died, and Maksim hadn’t been there to help him. Logic told him that this was by no fault of his own, but that didn’t help. Not really, anyway. He frowned, his brow furrowed in frustration. He ground his teeth and clenched his hands, but nothing helped.

“You weren’t even that good at sports,” He muttered at last. “Not anything that didn’t involve kicking a ball across a field, anyway.” That wasn’t true, either. But teasing Zemal felt more normal than treating him like a prince.

Eidolon interrupted, and although he was angry for it at first, he relaxed at once at her suggestion. It was a good one. Maksim didn’t like all these people around, and he didn’t like being in the public eye. He wanted to sit with Zemal and catch up. They had plenty of it to do, and although hit could wait, Maksim felt as though he had waited quite long enough.

“Please,” he requested quietly, and then paused, before he gave Zemal a grin. “If his highness is alright with it.”

Zemal and Ramahendra; tag Maksim, Eidolon

The comment made him scoff a quiet laugh, and it was almost, almost like old times, so much so that it made his chest ache. But Zemal knew that the old times were past; never again was life to be so simple and inelegant, without the weight of the burden he now bore. Some might consider it an easy one, being royalty, but Zemal was ready to give just about anything to take back the last seven years and just go back to being plain old Desneth.

Excuse you?

Ramahendra turned his glare from Hanna's retreating back onto his bonded, his eyes narrowing as Zemal's head whipped around in haste. So, being a prince bonded to one of the very few gryphons left, son of a Titan no less, wasn't good enough for him?

That's not what I meant and you know it, Zemal replied hastily, trying and failing not to sound exasperated. Not everything about the last several years was utterly terrible, to be sure. He was beyond grateful for his bond with Ramahendra; on more than one occasion he was fairly certain it was the only thing that had kept him from losing his mind. Still, Zemal had spent most of his life leading a very simple, common existence, and it was going to take a while longer yet before he was able--if he was able at all--to adjust to being nobility.

"Oh no, don't dither on my behalf," Zemal countered, more than glad for the distraction--and more than glad that Maksim was at least willing to attempt to treat him like a normal person. He even went so far as to offer the other elf a bow, gesturing for him to lead the way. "If it pleases your Grace, I am more than delighted to follow."

He could practically feel Ramahendra rolling his eyes as the gryphon shifted next to him, not-so-accidentally thumping the Prince with a heavy wing as he circled around Maksim to head back to their seat. Along the way he eyed his bonded's childhood friend critically, as if not sure quite what to make of him yet. Gryphons were very choosy creatures when it came to their companions, but already Rama was able to tell that no amount of protesting was going to convince Zemal to leave this other person to his own devices. Perhaps if he just let the Prince get it out of his system...

Zemal was actually quite eager to return to the shielded section he'd been designated for this even, more than happy to get away from prying eyes and ears and have some privacy with his old friend. The silence that came as the shield settled around them was a blessing, and Zemal was forced to admit that being a prince had its perks; in addition to the sound-filtering technology, he was provided with his own fine refreshments that were perhaps a bit fancier than the rest of his peers were provided. Not that Aesulla was skimping on the snacks by any means, but he wasn't sure that anyone else had access to the champagne just yet.

"Have a seat, my friend," he said, gesturing to one of the empty chairs. Zemal waited politely for both Maksim and Eidolon to sit down before he did so himself, glad to have much of the noise of the party blocked out. It wasn't that he didn't like Faerveren's music. He did, actually (and could recall finding Faerveren herself quite attractive in the not too distant past, though he hoped Maksim didn't remember that), but catching up with his old friend was far more important at this point. "Have some champagne, if you wish, but by all the Seraphs in Paradisia please do tell me how you've been these last few years. I've missed you!"

The new titan had been rather abruptly whisked off for medical examinations, as well as some short term health care and a crash course in how NOT to accidentally create new canyons when startled. It had shunted him out of the public eye almost as quickly as he had entered it, it wasn't exactly a secret who he was or where he was during that time, but there hadn't been any official announcements to the general populace. Rumors had spread about his parents, what exactly his name was, and all sorts of things. A number of people still had the idea that he was an ancient titan that had awoken from the fighting, but actually seeing him put that thought more or less to bed.

...He looked, well... Had he not been pointed at, he may as well have been a human candidate with a slightly more fancy outfit. He wasn't terribly tall, nor short, his short golden hair seemed to form slightly natural wavy spikes as it swept backwards, his skin was mid-fair, a bit wiry, and he appeared to be somewhere around 16-18 years old. When the spot lights shone upon him he didn't seem to flinch or blink at all from the sudden light, but instead just glanced at them before scanning the crowd with his gold colored eyes. There was a momentary pause as he either had no idea what he was supposed to do- or had completely forgotten. Instead he opted to put on a nervous smile and give a small almost comical wave at the gathered masses.

Maybe he was supposed to turn into his dragon form after being announced? That would be fun, he'd pretty much fit over the stage. A small grin appeared for a moment as he considered it, but then he glanced and was met with some very serious expressions. Were they reading his mind or something? Oh well, he looked back over the edge of the VIP area and watched the candidates and others enjoying themselves. He waited for a little while after the lights were off of him to wander away, this was all exciting, and boring at the same time. He liked the music, and the lights, but he wanted to /do/ something. He tended to be pretty energetic, and just standing around wasn't his style. Not that he had much style, but it definitely wasn't that. The only thing better than running around though, was eating, and he'd already decimated the assortment of snacks he'd been given. He considered hopping over the railing and mingling with the candidates, or raiding their food, but soon noticed that uh... Shadowy guy go get someone.

...His eyes drifted from the shocked human who was beside Ygg, to Ygg, and then to the table near to them. HMM...

“Hello!” Came his rather... err... Ordinary greeting as he wandered over. His casual nature and the fact that he looked almost entirely like a human might take Lysander by surprise unless he had seen the spot lights and announcement earlier. There was a brief pause as his attention wandered to the canine he hadn't seen from his earlier position. “Can I pet your dog?” The question seemed to pop up from him out of nowhere, he had come over for the food, but instantly got distracted by the sight of a dog. It was pretty amazing that he actually asked, though he tended to be a little more cautious around people that were obviously disabled in some way. If this kept up he might actually make a polite and respectable entrance! It was astonishing really.

The fact that he completely forgot about introductions, and the like was not terribly surprising. It was just good he hadn't decided to snatch food and leap over the railing into the groups of candidates. Which admittedly, was a close second on his list of possible actions... Along with stealing the dog, and going on an adventure. That didn't go over terribly well the last time he tried it though, apparently dogs weren't as resilient as he thought they would be after his interactions with a few dragon hounds.

Yggdrasil & Mistophelees to Lysander

The Chevalier Mistophelees returned to where he had been standing prior- but not before a final bow. He was not so much dismissed as he was going back to his other job, which was standing by for any further instruction that his lady might give him, though he had a seat that he chose not to sit at that moment. The suave looking dark dragon perked an ear at the compliment that flittered his way and couldn't help but smile and speak gently, You honor me with your kind words, Father. The dragon turned his gaze to the performance, sleek tail curling back and forth slightly as he hummed the tune of the current song to himself. It was true, he looked quite a lot like a standard shadow or mental, but was quite a mysterious dragon himself. He didn't flaunt his actual element, nor really did he feel the need to really tell anyone he was a Celestial. He also had the idea that if he'd introduced himself with element, the cleric might have actually had a heart attack. When Lysander turned his attention back on the dark scaled celestial, the dragon half-bowed and crooned softly, Do let me know if you require anything at all, I would be quite honored to get it for you. And resumed his station to allow the two to speak.

As Lysander began to speak, Yggdrasil's kind, eternally patient gaze softened, focusing on him while not looking uninterested at all. She was a genuine soul, and she enjoyed speaking to others and listening as well. Each person was so different, in all her eons of life, no two had ever been the same. Oh, but kindness is a wealth I gladly share! Do please sit, Father! I could never allow someone such as yourself an uncomfortable seating, especially when it would be a hassle to get seated at all now- Besides, it is such an honor to meet someone of your order! She, despite her unseen injuries, was as kind and as warm as ever, the sheer tiredness she had shown in the war seemingly gone. Before the seats were moderately sized tables, which had plates and utensils and a number of elegantly smelling foods- looking of eastern Lomira* origins. Would you and your canine friend like anything to eat or drink? We have vegetarian and vegan options here as well if you don't like the meat options! She asked, picking up a nice looking mug and sipping what smelled like a milk chai tea and taking a sip. It would be no trouble at all to get something for your companion, either.... She trailed off for a moment, spotting Thalron walking up. Oh, it does appear we have another guest! She said, her tail curling softly at its tip, the scales and feathers upon her flexing slightly, making her look soft and approachable- which she always was anyway. Mistophelees bowed graciously to Thal and allowed him to pass, but had to shoo off a couple random people who had started wandering a little too close, likely curious of the dragon.

Right about then, the young Titan from outer Nondir walked up to Lysander and the ever patient Yggdrasil regarded him as she would any other Titan, greeting him kindly, though she knew he was young and acted even younger than he looked, and was opt to be quite childlike in silliness. She also knew he had a massive appetite, which likely stemmed from his origins- having no food to having plenty probably was the source of his gorging behavior. That and his fast metabolism, probably. Hello, Thalron. Enjoying the event? She asked, but smiled and uttered a soft chuckle when he became distracted and asked about the dog. She really hoped he didn't snatch the animal, as it could be potentially difficult to explain that the dog wasn't a normal pet, but a working animal doing its job right now.

OOC: 'eastern' is roughly Asian, since this isn't 'earth' proper, and also refers to any kind of foods you can find in asian cuisine (Including indian, chinese, japanese, korean ect!) Lomira is home to a lot of 'eastern' cuisines and probably people too!

Averon
Tag: Myre/Rocherion

Averon smirked a little bit as well at the display of electricity that Rocherion gave, the sparks down the mane was a neat trick but he did wonder how effective it would be against someone on his back. There wouldn't be much interest in the energy passing through the rider if there was nowhere for it to go. He wasn't sure how much control the centaur had over the flow though, he had heard they were better than elves so maybe he could make it pretty shocking. “At least you don't seem to have to worry about static-hair, or fur. It must be a nightmare to brush that all down.” A thought did occur to him, that there could be some neat Tesla-coil-esque tricks one could pull off with a creature that shoots lightning, but this wasn't exactly the best place for that sort of conversation.

“I think I'd take most things over the roiling masses out here... The candidate rooms are a bit too spacious for me though, to be honest.” He hadn't checked who he was sharing a room with yet, since classes hadn't started he'd chosen to mostly stay at home or hang out at his normal places. He had been around long enough to move a few things in, and get acquainted with a few people (and take their money) but that was well before the main group of candidates, or centaur had arrived.

He was somewhat amused by Myre's skepticism of what he might be dealing to whom, people didn't always notice how well his demonstrations turned out. If they thought fancy dealing, card counting, and such were the limit of his abilities though they were likely going to be surprised... Chances are they'd be surprised regardless of what they thought he was capable of, but that was another story. “Don't worry, card games are boring if you always cheat. All these tricks are mostly to be entertaining, and if I wanted to win every round I'd just play solitaire.” His own hand wasn't terrible, and he seemed to shuffle it a lot while being particularly defensive with it, not that it wouldn't be painfully obvious if any of the three actually tried to get a look at each others cards. “I guess that's not much different from candidates here in general, we all come from different families, and nations... Do you all have special jobs though?” He wasn't oblivious to Myre's uh, lack of enthusiasm but didn't really comment on it. “If you want a voice recorder I've got an extra, might be easier than writing everything out.” Most of his questions or such weren't directed at either one specifically, except for the last.

He paused briefly when the new titan was said to be here, he couldn't see where the spot lights pointed but knew more or less where he would be. That's where all the titans sat when they weren't off doing whatever it was they did. It reminded him of the events of its revelation “Hmm... Did you hear the voice after the battle?” Something about it still disturbed him to think about, he wasn't sure why, or how it seemed to reach so many people but it was... Foreboding. As if times weren't dark enough already with that stuff being spouted out by demon-possessed titan skeletons.
