NPC Tobin Wolfe; tag Aylin It was so hard. The roar of the crowd, the impossibly upbeat tune of the music, the way the singer almost but not quite called everyone to arms for the atrocities committed by Emperor Vicarous. To use the most recent battle as some sort of publicity stunt was galling, and yet Tobin was on some level glad that it was being brought to light. There were benefits to neutrality, this was true, but there also came a time in which refusing to stand up to the evil plaging the world was just as bad as if you allied yourself with that evil. Terminus might still be intent on maintaining his empire's neutrality but it seemed that the people of Aesulla were ready to take the battle to Nondir. In theory, at least. So much had been lost that day, so many... He closed his eyes and pressed his forehead against the coolness of the wall once more, his throat tight. Tobin knew he shouldn't have left Aylin inside on her own, even if she was safe, but it was so hard sometimes. She had lost her mother, but he had lost his wife, his partner. He and Abelle had bonded at the same hatching, Tobin to his Earth dragon Parshath and Abelle to a dainty little Floral named Liancia. Ending up married was not something either of them planned; Tobin had been more than a little hot-blooded and bull-headed in his youth, and Abelle was certainly not one to shy from any sort of confrontation. But married they were, with Parshath and Liancia beating them to the punch and becoming mates, and then the children... Parshath's pain was somehow the worst of it. Tobin knew that his dragon was attempting to keep his grief private, to not overburden his already shattered rider, but after being bonded more than twenty years there was no way to hide it. And now Aylin was a candidate and he didn't know if he could take it but who was he to stop her? She was so kind and gentle, his eldest daughter, and after what had--after the battle-- His head thumped once against the wall, eyes squeezed shut. Parshath was defending the fleeing wyrmlings (he and Liancia had two of their own in this clutch; neither survived the betrayal), shielding them with his own body, and Abelle saw something that made her go back. Someone fell behind, wounded, and Liancia tried to save them only to fall victim to one of the endless army of undead dragons Illirian had summoned. Tobin remembered every moment of her, would never forget Parshath's anguished scream because he could not go, he had to protect the little ones and if he left them now more were going to die. Tobin escaped the fray with little more than a broken arm and some fractured ribs, all now healed. Parshath suffered some miasmic burns but was otherwise physically unharmed. Mentally and emotionally, on the other hand... He ought to go back. Aylin was going to start worrying before long, and really, he shouldn't have left her. The cheering and the music and the oh so brief moment when he'd looked to his side and expected to find Abelle standing there with him had taken its toll, however, and Tobin had needed to escape, if only for a moment. Now he was getting odd looks from some of the staff in the halls, which meant that it was as good a time as any to go back. The music was done and Aterrimus was on stage, and really he needed to be there for this. So he took a deep breath, wiped his eyes, straightened his shoulders, and stepped back through the door. It was still loud even though much of the crowd had dispersed, and there were still a fair few people in attendance. Finding Aylin was not so difficult because most of those people were sitting down to eat and she was still standing--or bending over, for some reason. It wasn't until he got closer that he saw the glass and heard her apologizing profusely that he realized what had happened, forcing him to bite back a sigh. She was far too kind, his Aylin, and Tobin couldn't help but worry that some of the less scrupulous candidates might try to take advantage of that. "Hey, sorry about vanishing like that," he said with a small smile and a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Had to step out for a minute. Is everything okay? We should find a seat and get you something to eat." |

NPC Aylin Wolfe Tagged: Tobin Wolfe "It's alright," She assured her father without looking at him as she scrambled to pick up the rest of what she had spilled. With the cup righted and the wronged Candidate looking no worse for wear, Aylin turned to address her father... And immediately frowned. They all did their best to hide their grief. It was harder for her younger brothers and sisters, of course. Aylin had spent the days following her mother's murder (no other word for it seemed appropriate) consoling them, unsure how to explain why their mother wasn't coming home. What did children know about war? Aylin wasn't even sure she understood all that had went on herself. But with her brother gone with his dragon, Aylin and Tobin hadn't had much time to grieve. But she knew it when she saw it. His face was a little tired, a hint of bags beneath his eyes. She understood. She was tired, too. She just wished she knew how to make this easier for the two of them. Did he want to hide his sadness form her? It certainly sounded that way. Her father was giving off every air of someone who was trying to put on a brave face, and Aylin knew why he might do it. This was supposed to be for her, wasn't it? She was entering Candidacy, and this ceremony was an important time for her. But despite the music and the food, the crowd and the general upbeat atmosphere, she felt cold. Her chest ached, and she came to realize she didn't want to be here at all. She was afraid. "Papa?" She asked him softly, not wanting to embarrass either of them, her hand on his arm. "Are you alright?" She already knew the answer to that. Neither of them were alright. What had happened to her mother certainly wasn't alright. Would having a dragon of her own help? Would it be too late to do anything by the time her dragon, if she even bonded to one, was old enough to join ranks? So much was uncertain, and her face, drawn and worried, betrayed her concern. "I'm not really hungry," She admitted after a moment. "I'd rather you ate something instead." She couldn't remember seeing him eat the past couple of days. She hadn't had much of an appetite either, but it was easier to fuss over him than worry about herself. Her family needed him to stay strong. She needed him to be strong. Sweet Celestial, she couldn't do this on her own. "...Maybe we should leave." |

NPC Tobin Wolfe; tag Aylin The question made him smile, a tight and tired expression that didn't quite reach his eyes. She was much like him in this regard; it was easier to ignore your own grief and pain by focusing on trying to help someone else through theirs. Even so, Tobin wasn't able to immediately answer, his throat aching and his chest tight. He swallowed it down as he often did, not wishing to unfairly burden his daughter with more than she already carried on her narrow shoulders. "I'm fine," Tobin lied as he placed his hand atop her own, a gesture of comfort. The lack of an appetite was something else he was also familiar with as of late. Whiskey seemed to be the only dinner he craved, and that was not something he dared to overindulge himself with. He was in pain, yes, but he was not the only one and it was not fair for his children to lose both parents in such a short span of time even though one of them was still alive. Mention of leaving, though, turned him much more solomn, and though he was still conflicted over Aylin's decision to stand as a candidate, his response was no less firm. "We can stay," he said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "As long as this is something you're sure you need and want to do, you know I'll be here for you. For as long as you need me to be." And then, decorum be damned, Tobin pulled her into a hug that was no less warm for all its brevity. "Tell you what. Why don't we both try to eat something and we can talk about what's bothering you, hm?" |

NPC Aylin Wolfe Tagged: Tobin Wolfe He wasn't fine, but his lie didn't bother her. She would have said the same thing if he would have asked her. Aylin wanted to be fine for him. She didn't want him to have to worry about her, not when there were so many other concerns and worries on his shoulders. Her father was a busy, dedicated man. He was dedicated to his work, to his dragon, and to his family. She'd never known him to give anything less than one hundred percent, and he was trying so hard to do the same now. She adored her father for that. She adored him for a lot of reasons, actually. Tobin was gentle and kind. He was large and likely intimidating to people who didn't know him; Broad shouldered and tall, he struck an imposing figure. And it was true that Tobin could be tough, but that was seldom the side he showed her. He was, first and foremost, her father. He would always be that to her before anything else, and no matter his faults, his bravery, or his struggles, she would always remember him as the man who read to her before bed, who doctored her knee after falling off a bicycle, who... She felt tears prick at the back of her eyes. It was hard not to think of her father without remembering a time her mother had been right beside him, working in tandem. They'd been an excellent pair, supportive and nurturing. While Aylin had always felt closer to her father, she'd loved her mother very much. Not having her around was still a surprise and a shock, followed by aching pain and yearning. His hug helped, and when they parted she reached for Tobin's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Alright." She didn't trust herself to say more than that, and her voice cracked on the last syllable. She wanted to cry, but refused to do so here. She wasn't going to embarrass herself, and she'd made her decision. Mostly. She followed her father dutifully to get some food, but her lack of appetite was showing. She barely filled half of her plate, and even after they sat down to eat, the Candidate mostly pushed her food around. Nothing sounded good to her, and the smell of food nearly made her feel sick. The meal before her could have been prime rib and choice cuts of steak, and she still wouldn't have felt tempted. She laid her fork down in surrender and sighed. "I'm not sure I can do this," She admitted at last. "I don't have what it takes. I have what it takes for other things," She added quickly. Aylin had a habit of getting down on herself, but that's not what this was about. Not in her opinion, anyway. "In my head, I imagine what happened in Nondir, I can see--" She stopped herself before she could get emotional. "I don't want to hurt anyone." |

NPC Tobin Wolfe; tag Aylin He held her hand without reserve or complaint as they searched for a table with two empty seats together. letting go only when it was time to fill a plate. Tobin had no appetite to speak of but knew that a body needed caring for even if it didn't want it, and feeding said body even when he didn't taste the food and it sat like a lump in his stomach was necessary. Besides, he had to provide a good example for Aylin, even if he was all but certain that she saw through his facade without even trying. When they sat, Tobin attempted to coerce her into eating by starting in on his own meal, the luxury and quality of the rich food lost on him. Not that it mattered. The food soured in his mouth when Aylin mentioned what had happened in Nondir, and he forced himself to swallow before he choked on it. Now came the hard part. Yes, he was worried about Aylin becoming the rider of a battle-ready dragon and potentially having to go to war. He knew of the vagaries of battle himself, and Tobin also knew that injury or death were not necessarily the worst atrocities one might face as a result. All that being said, he also knew what it felt like to be bonded to a dragon and all of the many joys that brought with it, and in some respects those outweighed the potential negatives. "If I had even the slightest doubt about your ability to ride a dragon then I would not have allowed you to sign up as a candidate," Tobin began slowly, setting down his fork and folding his hands as he looked across the table at his daughter. "I know that it's a daunting possiblity, and that even bonding to a healing dragon doesn't... doesn't guarantee your safety." He had to stop for a moment, pausing to gather himself and swallow the hard lump in his throat before lifting his eyes to meet Aylin's once more. "This is your choice," he continued softly. "And whatever you choose to do, you know I'll always be there for you. I can't promise you that you'll bond, or that if you do that it won't be to a dragon who may one day end up on the front lines. I can't promise that you'll always be safe or that you won't ever have to hurt anyone to preserve your life, your dragon's life, or the life of an innocent bystander. What I can promise is that being a dragonrider will give you countless opportunities to help other people, to make a difference in peoples' lives... and being bonded to a dragon in and of itself is one of the greatest joys you will ever experience." It was hard to say that. It almost hurt, admitting all of those things and fighting down the growing urge to just snatch her up and run away. Tobin was notoriously protective of his children, but he always made the effort to try and not smother them with his defensiveness. They were their own people and needed to learn how to make their own choices in life, but this... after Abelle, it was so hard to let them go, to not cling to them frantically and do everything he could to keep them safe. |

NPC Aylin Wolfe Tagged: Tobin Wolfe "I don't doubt my ability to ride a dragon," Aylin clarified in a soft voice, fingers picking apart the soft roll she had placed on her plate. For the moment, she appeared to be more interest in dissecting it than actually putting it into her mouth. It was a way to keep her hands busy, and she didn't want her father to see how badly they were starting to shake. "I'm just not sure if I can follow someone's orders if they tell me--Us--To kill someone. Or something." Her father hadn't told her much about what had happened in the battle, but he hadn't needed to. Coverage of the atrocities had been plentiful, nigh inescapable. She hadn't needed to be on the front lines to have nightmares about what occurred, and imagination was sometimes worse than reality. Her dreams had been plagued with images of her mother's murder. Thinking of her was difficult. Abelle had always been strong, sharp-minded and quick on her feet. Liancia was gentler, as healers tended to be. She'd been a sweet dragon, and it was no surprise to Aylin that the floral had wanted to stay behind to help where she could. Aylin didn't blame Liancia or her mother. She blamed Nondir and its false emperor. And she blamed those who would remain indifferent to the war. Being in Asuella was difficult. People whispered about the war, but no one wanted to shout. Their Titan wished to remain neutral, even as atrocities were being committed by the death Titan and his Emperor. "I wish it didn't have to be here," She said at last, and her voice was tight and hard. It wasn't like Aylin to be bitter or angry. She was, by nature, a sweet and understanding young woman. But it was hard to understand indifference where indifference made no sense. "They don't care about what's happened here, because it's easier to ignore it and worry about themselves. If they'd lent some riders, maybe--" She broke off suddenly, and bit her bottom lip to keep it from trembling. Her shoulders shivered, and it wasn't because she was cold. "They could have done something. I don't want to go to war, but this is worse." She wiped furious at her eyes with the back of one hand, pressed her face into her palm. This isn't the side of her she wanted her father to see. He didn't need to worry about comforting her while dealing with his own grief. "I don't think I can stand to do nothing." |

Idazon to Teagan/anyone who needs him During the concert, Idazon had been distracted not only by trying to pay attention to the music and performance, but also having to speak to some dignitaries. He would have preferred to spend time with someone else but people kept bothering him. One of the people who was supposed to be keeping an eye on his niece and nephew were a bit confused about where Ahmduer was. This was a bit alarming given that Ahmduer had medical problems, so he sent a couple of his own appointed bodyguards to find the colt before making his way through the groups of people before the feast started, worry growing in his hearts. As he approached the place where Teagan was, he overheard someone asking about her box, and of course, her replying a bit snippy. He couldn't entirely blame her, but also know Marcus was just doing his job. He really wanted to say something to help, but felt he might just make the hothead even more upset, and refrained from commenting. He had told the guards not to mention Ahmduer was missing to his sister just yet, as she was liable to run off and that might cause the other centaur to panic. All he could do was wait for the guards to check the room and places he might be before getting too much more worried than he already was. Once he'd managed to settle himself down while the feast started, he looked to Teagan and cleared his throat- He probably had seemed to come out of nowhere as he was a dark coated Centaur and the lights up to the point when the feast began were dimmed. “Hello, Teagan- I trust your night is going well? Interesting music selection so far,..I am unsure if I am fond of it or not, though...” He of course knew she was a little miffed but was hoping to graze over it a bit. Hopefully. He was pleased to see food he favored- or at least, had taken a liking to since coming here. It was fairly obvious that something was wrong, his posture, even in that semi-laying 'sitting' that Centaurs did, seemed tense, as if he expected the worst news at any moment... Yggdrasil to Lysander Yggdrasil and her assistant nodded almost in unison as the preist requested being called 'Brother' rather than 'Father'. "Why of course, whatever you would have us call you!" After this, the Life Titan's gaze was soft as she smiled, chortling in amusement at how unsure the human was. As if sensing how many unspoken questions he had on his mind- without actually checking. The Titan let out a gentle croon, "If you've any questions about dragonkind, you may ask what you wish, and you will not offend us. There are no stupid questions, after all! Actually, I hear classes here in Aesulla for the Candidates can be attended by non candidates- Like thalron- with permission. They'll be learning about dragon anatomy, elements and basic care, I'm sure you could learn a lot if you were planning to stick around through to the end of the hatching. You could stay in the guest quarters as well. If that sounds like something you might enjoy, I could speak to Terminus about it, or Aterrimus..." The dragon curled her tail a little as she picked up a plate with some selections of food on it, looking almost surprised when the man actually seemed to think there might be an issue, him eating from the same table as royals. "Of course it wouldn't be a problem! Please, do help yourself! It is a feast after all." Yggdrasil exclaimed, while keeping an eye on the blue dragon who was playing with the dog while in human form. To the young Titan, she chortled, a little amused. “I often wonder if half the songs even have any real meaning. I usually just listen, and pay no mind to their meanings.” Most songs anymore followed basic themes, some were romancing a person, or literally about making out, or breakup songs. Sometimes you'd find one that was practically nonsense, which could have been either about drugs or literally nonsense. When the dragon mentioned a badonk, the Life Titan let out a near bark of laugher, coughing into her drink so as not to choke. “Well, if you really must know, that refers to a lady's rear end, but it is not very polite to say about a person and should be considered vulgar slang.” As the feast was underway, she wondered if the Titan would leave to go steal a couple tables for himself- She knew enough food had been set aside just in case that happened. To the priest, she bid the man to stay on through the feast as well, while other people left. She did not seem to think it a good idea for the man and his dog to go out wandering during the onset of a hurricane...Which, speaking of, the rain was coming down by the time the feast was midway through, the flashes of lightning periodically cracking harmlessly above, thunder following, the sound of wind picking up. Ygg was particularly glad that the hatching complex was all enclosed within a protected ceiling- which included the living spaces and learning centers. The Other It was halfway or more through the feast and folks were deep in conversations when the storm began to get fiercer than it had been before. The sky was dark, illuminated only by lightning, thunder crashing. There was what can only be explained as an unusually loud thundercrack and lightning flash, a sound like electricity fizzling out..followed by utter and complete darkness in the complex, catching everyone off guard. Normally the backup power would come online immediately in such an event, but for the moment it was out. There was a sound of someone speaking to someone else- Probably Terminus, who was cursing quietly. He could only issue an order to get the power on as soon as possible, a tone of worry tinging his voice. Similarly, Ygg and Mistofolees were tense, the shadowy looking dragon peering out in the halflight. His vision in the dark was quite good, and he was on alert, but assured them - Ygg, Lysander, and Thalron that as far as he could see, nothing dangerous had arrived,..well. Yet. There was of course the concerned murmur of candidates and guests still in the audience, some getting out their phones and flashlights if they happened to have them, but many ended up turning them off as adjusting to the dark made it easier to see than with a few pinpoints of light. Next to Teagan, Idazon was flicking his tail in worry, his ears laid back. He was already nervous, and now this? Every horror or sci-fi movie he'd been subject to since meeting Teagan flashed in his mind and...that was probably pretty funny, at least, for someone who wasn't him who probably knew his sweating was because he was expecting something like an alien to come out of nowhere. Things were not made better when there was a sudden audible shnuffling noise in the dark in the semi-quiet. Silence fell over everyone as, in the dark, something bared its fangs. This would normally not be visible, given the power outage, but in this case, the.. thing had vivid glowing neon fangs, somewhere between blue and green. A flash of lightning- a brief moment of visibility showing a solid, light absorbing black something . It was creeping low to the ground, rising up for a second to sniff the air, its fangs opening again. Judging by the height of the fangs, it was about two and a half feet high, probably. Out of nowhere, during the pitch darkness, markings erupted across the creature's form, glowing in electric pulses, excitement apparently striking the beast as it suddenly took off across the sands, headed right for the candidates. There was much screaming by several people, but no authorities made a move to stop it, which should have been the first clue that it probably wasn't dangerous...well...maybe. It was headed right for a female candidate who already seemed to be having an off day, sort of at least, and sort of...Collided with her and scrambled into her lap, sniffling at her face, his soft, fluffy coat now apparent, as were his sharp claws and fangs which he was intentionally not using to rend the girl. A whispy voice echoed into her mind, -Teagan! Oreius is here now!- He paused and shuffled about to sniff at the plates on the table... -I'm hungry, can I eat now?- a few moments later, the auxiliary power kicked in. It wasn't the brightest ever, but at least it was lit. And so were Oreius' markings, for the moment. ![]() Size Chart Name: Oreius Element: Lightning/Shadow Personality: Energetic, Focused, Outgoing, Creepy Bonds to: Teagan (Jackins) See Profile: HERE As soon as the lights came on, though, other similar creatures to the one Teagan had apparently just bonded to were ambling over, one of which was quite large, an adult next to her was a bit shorter, but in the jaws of the larger mostly white female was a large fabric looking carrier, within which some excited squeaking was heard. Apparently, one of the kits had bailed during the blackout and run out early. The creatures were Tragendire, and the largest of the two was clearly Polaris, the 'titan' triple elemental that supposedly belonged to Terminus' rider, (Whom no one had really seen in a long time either), the other was Soyokaze, who belonged to the wife of the rider. It was unlikely that more than one of the kits belonged to the pair, as typically for bonding ceremonies, non related kits were brought in for certain reasons. An attendant wandered over to the candidates nd hastilly explained that the cause of the power outage was not the kit, but a so far unknown reason, which was still being looked into. The party was not going to be canceled, but folks were told to be alert, just in case. By then, Ahmduer's sister and friends had likely noticed he wasn't there, which was probably equally alarming. |

Brother Lysander Tagged; Yggdrasil | Reacting to recent events It was unlike Lysander to eat so much (for him, anyway; The brother ate with small bites, and his portions were small). He prided himself on his self-control, and while he did not fear looking gluttonous, he knew that heavy amounts of food did to his stomach. Lysander was not a very well man, but he knew how to keep his body as healthy as he could. A lot of food at once always made him sick, and he knew better than to over-indulge. But the food was delicious, and there were so many options! There was pasta in several different kinds of sauce (he chose a light vinegar based one for himself), roasted vegetables, steamed greens and mounds of salad and fruit. He helped himself to what he could reach, and he was sure that everyone in the area could hear his stomach growling. Despite helping himself to whatever he wanted, Lysander still ate neatly. He forced himself to go slow, both to keep himself from over-eating and to keep his mind on the conversation at hand. His skin was practically prickling with excitement. But first, it'd probably be best to put some questions to rest. "I'm not-- That's not it, precisely." Thalron's question surprised him, and he wiped at the corners of his mouth to give himself time to think. "I'm not a father and a brother. Those are just titles. Words," He explained. "A way to identify yourself. A father or a brother is man of faith. I'm a brother of the faith, so brother is my title." In hindsight, he could understand the confusion. And speaking of confusion... "I have so many questions," He admitted. "And you may regret offering to answer them all. I think I'm a touch persistent." Was it true that Titans never stopped growing? How did Yggdrasil feel in this form? How did one persevere for so many years without failing or growing lonely? He wished to ask them all, and mentally ticked them off and ordered them in his head. Well, since she had offered... He opened his mouth to speak, but was caught off-guard as she continued. His eyes brightened at the offer and his pale face lit up with an almost childlike sort of excitement. "Truly?" He breathed. "You'd allow me to stay here, to observe?" It was a wonderful opportunity, and one he had wanted since he was a boy. The opportunity to learn about dragons the way the Candidates did was one he couldn't pass up, no matter what his plans had been for after the ceremony. "I'd love to!" He practically sang it, and rose unsteadily from his chair, likely in order to demonstrate his thanks. His breathing was becoming unstable, however, and Daisy slipped away from Thalron to press against her master's legs in warning. She nestled herself against his feet, and Lysander had no choice but to slowly sit back down. "Please," He gushed, panting only a little from the excitement. "I'd like that very much. I've always wanted to learn, but, as you see..." He gestured to himself and gave a little laugh. "I've never had much of an opportunity. I-- Oh, dear." He faltered as the lights flickered, and then went out. The storm outside must be absolutely howling if the power could dim even here, with the technology Titan so close. Daisy was shaking against his feet; The dog wasn't fond of storms herself. He lowered one hand to stroke down along her neck and behind her ears, hoping to calm her. "Is everyone alright?" He asked, and while it might have been a foolish question to ask of dragons (and he'd never heard of a dragon who was afraid of the dark), Lysander simply wanted to be sure. And then, as if to confirm his fears: Screaming. He hadn't seen the fangs in the dark, but the screaming sent his heart to racing and his skin prickling. A faint ache began in his chest, and the man grimaced as he rested one hand against his sternum. Too much excitement. He'd rest well tonight. He rose up again, thin arms shaking as he tried to get a good view of what was going on down below, curiosity winning out over common sense. The lights flickered back on, and it was dim, but he could clearly see-- "A Tragendire!" He practically sang it in his excitement, all discomfort mostly forgotten. "Oh, how marvelous! I've never seen one up close, but I've heard plenty about them. They're supposed to be simply magnificent." He turned to look at the others, the Titans and the guardians with whom he sat. "Is this sort of thing very common?" |

Azarahl Nlaruxan Tag: Basajuan Aza was thoroughly enjoying the company of Basa, the big centaur was a kind soul and a pleasure to be with. As soon as the tables rose from the ground she made herself comfortable by laying down which brought the table to a more comfortable height with which to eat and listen to the Titan and their teacher discuss various lesson plans. She made sure to pay attention to what was being said but she was slightly distracted by the array of foods that were placed on her table. It was like they knew exactly what she liked but there were also some new types of food she had never had before but were there for her experimentation. And experiment she did! Whenever she tried something that she particularly liked she offered it to Basa urging him to try it as well. She could sense the storm outside and the growing charge in the air that built up before releasing in a bright flash and deafening sounds. The shelter of the Academy was different to how they sheltered from storms back home, it made it feel so distant and far away. As if there was just the thought of a storm. She wasn't sure she really liked it, Aza loved storms and the feeling of power that surged through the air along with the bite of cold rain. But she could see the benefits of having such protection, especially in a place that protected the next generation of dragons. When the lights shut off suddenly and the power went out she was slightly startled. As far as she understood not much could cut the power of a technology dragon, much less a Titan and he was here with them and while not directly "plugged in" (as far as she knew anyway) a power outage was the last thing she was expecting. There were a lot of screams following the loud thunder clap that followed the darkness but they seemed to only be coming from those that were just as startled but expressed it verbally. There seemed to be commotion going on and as the lights flickered back on she noticed Idazon sitting next to a woman who had a fuzzy beast on her lap with glowing fangs. None of the authorities seemed at all worried by this and there seemed to be a whole group of them with two enormous ones. She felt slightly nervous and pranced in place (she had stood when the lights went out). Where was Ahmduer? She started looking around the crowd worried how he was handling this recent excitement and now the introduction of the Tragendire? She heard the word whispered excitedly. They seemed to be bonding companions much like the Dragonhounds she had seen accompany the Empress and Princess back in Etharius. She crossed her arms and started looking through the crowed with a more worried expression growing on her face. "You said Ahm was with who?" She asked Basa. |

Anviel Veyanir Tag: Open There was pizza on the elf's plate, beside her juice. She glanced around her table, where her neighboring candidates were eating or chatting with each other. If any of them were quite as nervous as she was, they were doing a great job of showing it. In hopes of doing the same, Anviel grabbed her pizza by the crust and forced herself to take a bite, chewing and swallowing slowly. It slid down her throat and settled in her stomach. She needed to eat something, and it wasn't likely that the candidates would be treated to a feast like this every day. The elf was halfway through her pizza when she set it down on the table, self-consciously wiping her mouth with a napkin. Screw it, there's plenty of pizza in this city. She hated eating in front of other people, anyways. But it didn't look like they were paying attention regardless- the rain was picking up outside, and there was thunder, too. Anviel was staring at her pizza, contemplating another bite, when all of a sudden it went dark. The elf's eyes shot up to the ceiling- the storm? When the darkness remained for more than a few moments, she glanced around anxiously, scanning the area to see what was going on. Her eyes had adjusted fairly quickly, but she still couldn't make out anything beyond the most major details of any figures- and sweet Celestial, what the fuck was that? There was something running across the sands, straight towards the candidates. It was a silhouette- and it was definitely quite bulky, but otherwise unidentifiable. With an undignified scream of terror, the elf scrambled to get her legs onto her seat. The thing started glowing- maybe it was a robot? It was terrifying regardless. The lights came on, albeit dim, and Anviel saw the thing clearly. And two more of them, too. It took the elf a moment to recognize them, but suddenly it hit her. Tragendire. They had to be- she had never seen them before, but it fit the description. Sweet Celestial, they were far more frightening than she had ever expected. Exhaling sharply, the elf returned to her normal position in her chair and waited for her heartbeat to return to a steady rate. |

Braelyn; Tag Dilly and Minerva. Rearing back in the throng of revelers was not the best choice of action as the little ice horse motioned emphatically for Dan to settle down before she stepped on someone. The whole sight made her wince as she tried to reach her companion faster without accidentally stepping on any soft feet. The last thing they needed was for someone to get hurt, centaur or otherwise. Perhaps the little filly had fared better then either Minerva or herself in seeing where their fearless leader had run off in the chaos of bodies. Through various chairs and elbows the little fjord taur finally made it to their companion as the music came to a blessed end. It was quite the escapade, perhaps she should have allowed Minerva to lead instead. "Sounds like that mess is finally over, how are you finding the ceremony, Aidan?" Brie gave a small shake of her flanks as she smoothed out the uniform that was provided after all that fuss of finding her herdmate, replacing the absence of music with a soft tinkle of bells."It's not home, I can say that much." She scanned the crowd but still couldn't make heads nor tails of Idazon. Her attention was tugged away once more as Terminus returned to the stands, the light stage music petering down softly for the announcements the titan still had to make. Large numbers of attendants moved to depart the stands as preparations were made for the upcoming feast. Braelyn winced slightly at the announcement of the impending storm and quietly hoped everyone found their way home safely. Another dragon took to the center stage to address the group; Aterrimus, the Wyrmlingmaster. All conversation fell from the little taur's shoulders as she turned her full attention to listen. It would certainly be something to look forward to as they came closer to the hatching ceremony, learning more about the dragons they would hopefully bond with. Brie listened intently, only glancing slightly as the tables rose up from the floor around them, attendants bringing out various foods to set up the feast as they went. The place became more and more interesting the longer she was there. Aesulla had a definite penchant for convenience and that was not at all a bad thing as she watched the feast fall into place. Sound of rain pelting harder upon the building complex was not enough to draw the taur's attention away from the cursory explanation of the upcoming lessons. The loud crack of lightning however, followed by utter darkness got a small bark from Brie as she huddled closer to Minerva in the dark. A stormwall wasn't going to keep skyborne weather at bay but some part of her had made the unintentional assumption that the academy would be immune to such things as a power outage. She watched in the darkness at the faint silhouette of Terminus and someone else talking on stage before finding herself following what looked like a pair of glowing teeth and the screams of candidates as it waded through the dark. "The hell is that thing?!" It was meant to be a whisper but it came out somewhat louder than Brie had intended as she pulled Dilly closer too, just in case. ====== Teagan; Tag: Marcus, Selina, Idazon, and the tiny little murder machine? He was right, but that didn't make Teagan feel any better about the scrutiny. Drugs were easy money but the crowds that sold them back home were not people she ever wanted to get involved with. At least with the chop shop there was a wide network of people that she knew she could mostly trust. Families and friends in similar dire situations, mouths to feed, and bills to pay. It wasn't a parasitic matter of building up a customer base. Sure, there had been disputes over turf, but over all her experience had been harmless enough, not to mention enjoyable in that regard. Having an excuse to book it as fast as possible was a guilty pleasure, one that she hadn't yet figured out how to replace in Aesulla. Machine parts were not drugs, and they were not the only good she formerly peddled in her life as a desperate tatterdemalion. "Never peddled in narcotics." she gave a final shrug. "Machine parts don't typically fit in a pill bottle, and I'm probably lucky you didn't ask for anything similar to a happy ending or I'd have rattled off a price list." that little tidbit sputtered forth unapologetically just as she noticed Idazon coming to join her from wherever he'd been roaming during the concert. She did shake Marcus' offered hand though. "Teagan Mercier...candidate, welder, former booster and prostitute all rolled into one.See? I have fancy titles too." there was no denying that Teagan was a smart ass, but her demeanor had at least shifted to one that was more hospitable. "But no, I'm sorry. I get it...doesn't make it less irritating." It'd have to do for an apology from her for the moment. No point in getting tossed in a cell for causing strife with a hatching assistant. With that off her chest, Teagan turned to see how Ida was doing whilst the tables settled into place and were loaded with food; she could use a mean about now as she glanced towards the near black shadow that'd settled in beside her. Something was not quite right, though as she opened her mouth to ask what was wrong the power went out with a crack, and a loud snap. "Huh...someone didn't put enough coins in the meter..." bad memories from home, but whatever, it seemed that not even the great technological marvel of Aesulla was not immune to the weather. She watched the brief shadows of Terminus and one of the attendants talking, likely about the power issue before sitting tight and listening to the patter of rain. "Would be doing better if I weren't sitting in the dark, probably." she gave Ida a soft nudge with her elbow and a smile. "What's eating you? Is everything okay?" She would have to wait for an answer as a loud snuffling sound caused a bit of a stir before looking about in the dark and seeing well...a set of glowing, neon TEETH that almost set her crawling to Idazon's flanks in the dark, not that in her limited experience, he'd be any more of a help. The centaur was not made of the strongest stuff when it came to horror movies. Lightning flashed and illuminated a strange, fuzzy void attached to the teeth in the in the dark, and then it was gone again, like some electric monster fish wading through a sea of unprotected legs and screaming candidates. Try as she might she couldn't keep an eye on the thing as it ran about before slamming head first into her legs and making her yelp. This was the end! She was going to be eaten in the dark by some formless, fuzzy something. Claws that could probably rend and tear, but didn't scrambled up her lap before the fluffy something snuffled about at her face in a horrifyingly non-aggressive fashion. -Teagan! Oreius is here now!- Lights flickered on, darker than before-but better than nothing as Teagan glanced at what little two and a half foot tall terror was now sitting in her lap. "Well...hi, Oreius." She absently scratched between his ears, still at a loss for word and looking about for an explanation that could not be found between either Marcus or Ida as the little cub turned about and pressed his paws against the table, chuffing at Teagan's plate. -I'm hungry, can I eat now?- Well she wasn't about to stop him as she glanced about, catching sight of more on the stage with a look of befuddlement. There were a pair of much, much larger creatures and a sort of fabric kennel. Nobody in charge seemed at all concerned about what had transpired, though no explanation had been given just yet. -Teagan...it's all vegetables...why is it all vegetables??- little claws scrabbled to try and reach a piece of steak before Teagan pulled him back in her lap and skewered one that he couldn't reach and added it to her plate for the little cub to much away. With that, she turned about again, catching sight of Selina in the row behind her. "I uh...I think we have a new roommate." This was going to be interesting. |

Basajaun; tag Azarahl In spite of all the noise, the strange sounds, stranger smells, and overall presence of far too many people, as the night wore on Basajaun began to enjoy himself. This was largely due to Azarahl's influence; the young princess was a force of nature and far too excited by all of these new places and people and things than he was. Her excitement was infectious in its own way, prompting him to slowly relax and let down his guard. The... music, if one wanted to call it that, wasn't too bad though he did wish the woman on stage would stop making people shout so much. It hurt his sensitive ears. He was relieved when Fae stepped from the stage to be replaced by Terminus and Aterrimus. While some of his peers were disgruntled by mention of the upcoming candidate lessons, Basa listened to every word intently. It was best if he knew what to expect when going into this mess, though he did soon find himself distracted as tables rose up out of the floor and pieced themselves together (such strange creations they had here!) and food was procured for them. Cliched as it might be, Basajaun did enjoy his food, and to see so much of it--to see so many varieties of it, was something of a wonderment in and of itself. For every fruit or vegetable he knew there were twice as many he could not identify. There were creatures here he had never seen cooked in ways he might never have imagined, and on top of that these people had the strangest concoctions of foods mixed together. The big centaur mainly stuck to the herbivorous side of things, delighting in all of the new fruits he was able to partake in, but on more than one occasion Aza was able to coerce him into trying some of the stranger offerings. Like the odd round bread-disk with the cheese and the vegetables on top--which he did have to admit was rather tasty. Basajaun was aware of the rising storm outside in the same way that most creatures of the wild were; he felt the change in air pressure and might have scented it on the breeze had they been outdoors. The thunder and lightning didn't bother him much, sequestered safely inside as they were. Even so, the deafening thundercrack that preceded the power going out was still enough to make him jump, and for a moment he simply sat there in the darkness. Feeling uneasy, Basa carefully climbed to his feet, using a hand against the table to keep from jostling it unnecessarily. He was unable to see beyond the small lights springing up all around the complex-- And that sudden moving one close to the ground, over toward where he recalled seeing Idazon sitting. An almost liquid blur of neon motion that moved with the fluidity that only a living predatory being was able to manage. Basajaun snorted, feeling adrenaline spike through him as people screamed and the beast drew closer. There was nothing he could do in the dark, not without risking injury to himself and others if he charged through blindly in the dark. Where were the Titans? Why were they not acting? The beast leapt--and then suddenly the generators kicked on, the overhead lights flickering back to dim life. It was a rather tiny little fuzzball of a thing, in truth, and seemed less intent on mauling the human it was sitting on than it was in squirming her to death. The other, much larger creatures, however... Basa pawed at the floor and reflexively placed himself between them and Azarahl. None of the people in charge seemed terribly concerned but Basa was able to recall seeing creatures much like those hunting back home. They were a force to be reckoned with. "He was with the oth--" the big centaur began as he turned to look for the rest of the small herd, only to find that over the course of the evening they had wandered apart. Alarm caused his heart to skip a beat as he scanned the crowd, looking for the familiar small mustang form of Ahmduer, guilt twisting tighter in his stomach with each passing moment. He should have been paying more attention, he should have kept an eye on him. In a last ditch attempt to try and spot the wayward prince, Basajaun reared up onto his hind legs, dancing in a circle as he looked out over the masses of people to try and spot Ahmduer. "I do not see him," he admitted despondently, dismay written on his features. "I am sorry, Azarahl, I should have been watching him more closely... perhaps one of the others saw where he went." Zemal and Ramahendra; tag Maksim The longer they talked the easier it became to fall back into old habits, and for the first time in years Zemal began to feel comfortable in his old skin again. It was a little awkward at first, but Maksim was not much changed from the elf he'd known growing up. It was nice to catch up, to learn what had happened in his absence both in the place where he'd grown up and to the people they'd both grown up with. There was barely a pause in their conversation when the tables rose out of the floor, or when attendants brought them food, including some for Ramahendra. The storm was easily ignored background noise, as were Aterrimus' words concerning the upcoming candidate lessons. "--and then the wandering tech dragon," Zemal went on, regailing his friend with somewhat more pleasant tales of his ill-fated first attempt at candidacy. "Decided that he was going to order pizza--" There was a massive, thunderous crack before the lights went out, plunging them all into darkness. Zemal went rigid and tense in his seat, his heart fluttering for a brief moment before settling back into a stable, albeit quicker rhythm. It was nothing to concern himself over, he was fine, it was just the storm and not Vicarous ready to blast the ceiling down and kill him in person. No one even knew if the False Emperor was even still alive, for all that. It was just the storm, nothing more, and he had Ramahendra standing beside him now as the gryphon sensed the sudden spike of fear from his bonded. Great, now everyone was going to know that something was up with him... A low growl from Rama drew his attention to the glowing thing hurtling across the sands, and Zemal's breath caught in his throat as it threw itself at someone. Then the lights came back on and--he collapsed back into his chair with a gusty sigh of relief. It was a few moments more before he was able to finally laugh at his own paranoia, one hand dragging back through his hair as if to calm his nerves. "Tragendire," he said by way of explanation to Maksim. "It's something of a tradition to have some available to bond to candidates when Aesulla hosts, but I hadn't heard that there were going to be any of them at this particular ceremony." Faerveren; tag any When the rude young woman seemingly had nothing else to say, Fae shook her head and gave her one final glare before going on her way. Really, there were much better things she could be doing with her time. It was an effort of will to smooth her features before she finally stepped out from backstage, but the clustered group of fans waiting to greet her was all it took to make her forget the encounter entirely. Sure, maybe she wasn't all that thrilled to be here but that didn't mean she had to be miserable during the entire stay, either. It took some doing to work her way through the crowd and find an empty seat. Even then she wasn't really left alone; some of the other candidates were apparently really big fans and were determined to stick as close to her as they could. That was how Fae found herself sharing dinner with about a dozen total strangers, cracking jokes and telling stories and in general doing what she was best at. Playing the crowd didn't change much no matter the size, and it never hurt to get to know the people she was going to be spending the next several months with. Besides, the cameras were watching and she still needed to put on a good show for them. She was unperturbed by the storm outside, confident in the arena's ability to hold up against the winds. Besides, she'd make a louder racket herself during a show on more than one occasion. Fae tuned it out as background noise while she ate and chatted, paying only a moderate amount of attention to Aterrimus when he was on stage. She wasn't the only one, really, and figured the wyrmlingmaster had to be used to that sort of thing by now. Who wanted to spend their last free evening listening to crap about school, after all? The final crash of thunder that preceded a sudden, total blackout did manage to make her jump, and for a moment Faerveren simply sat in the darkness. There were a few alarmed screams at the lack of power before people began pulling out phones, cameras, and other light-giving devices to help cut through the shroud of blackness hanging over them. She could turn on her eyes... but Fae decided not to. The last thing she wanted to deal with tonight was a headache, and besides, it wasn't as if she'd actually be able to see anything with her eyes glowing like lightbulbs. Fae didn't see the thing slinking along the floor until people started screaming. She jumped up in her seat and whipped around, trying to figure out what was going on. At that moment she saw a glowing... thing go flying through the air and land on a nearby table just before the backup systems finally kicked on. Immediately she recognized the tragendire for what it was and cracked an excited grin. "Fuckin' awesome," she said aloud, one knee resting on her chair as she watched Teagan with the dire kit. He was amazingly epic to behold, and-- "Dude," Fae murmured, eyes widening slightly at the prospect. "Glowing tattoos. I need them." NPC Tobin Wolfe; tag Aylin Tobin wasn't sure how to respond at first. There was no good answer; inevitably, if you bonded to a dragon then chances were you'd end up having to kill someone eventually. Whether it was in self-defense or during a battle, at the present time being a dragonrider meant you were a soldier, a warrior. Though he did not like to talk about it, he and Parshath both had ended their fair share of lives when it came to battle. It was not something he was proud of, and certainly not something he intended to discuss with his daughter. At least not yet. "There's a difference between being ordered to kill someone and having to end a life on the battlefield," he began slowly, all pretense of even pretending to eat gone. "I'm not going to say that it's easy, or that it's something you get used to. But it is... unfortunately necessary at times. There are innocent people who may one day depend on you being able to do that." The matter of Aesulla's neutrality, at least, was somewhat easier to tackle. He also was less than fond of Terminus' decision not to fight, but understood that there was a reason behind it. While it was true that Aesulla throwing in its lot with Lomira and Iaramira might end the war quickly, there were a lot of innocent people in Nondir who might suffer as a result. "Thankfully," he said with a small, tired smile. "Even if you do bond here, you're not bound to Aesulla for the rest of your life. Come graduation you'll be given the opportunity to choose which city to live in, and the Titan you wish to ally yourself with. Etharius can undoubtedly use the help after what--" A loud, earth-shaking crack and then suddenly the lights went out. Tobin was half-standing before he realized it, forcing himself to take a seat again as he fumbled for and found Aylin's hand in the dark. It was just a power outage caused by the storm, no doubt, and not a reason at all to panic. "It's okay," he reassured his daughter. "Just the storm, the backup should be--" And then someone screamed. More than one someone, at that, a rippling series of startled shrieks that followed in the wake of a little black glowing something darting through the crowd. Tobin stood again, using careful touches to guide himself around behind Aylin's chair to put himself between her and whatever that thing was, but as it turned out, all of his worrying was for naught. The generators finally kicked in, the lights flickering back on, and after a tense moment Tobin gave a relieved laugh before returning to his seat. "Tragendire," he explained, gesturing to the larger adults entering the arena. "Aesulla usually presents some for bonding to the candidates when they host a hatching. Guess that little guy managed to slip away." Marcus; tag Teagan, Idazon One eyebrow arched when Teagan mentioned something about a price list, but Marcus didn't have much time to consider whether she was being serious or just screwing with him. Well, he could appreciate a good smart-ass, that he could, and he cracked a crooked grin as he returned the handshake. If he was at all put off or otherwise affected by her rather lengthy list of past professions, he didn't show it. Life in Nondir wasn't easy, that much he knew, though it hardly made him an expert on the matter. Whatever Teagan used to do, it didn't necessarily make her a bad person. It just made her someone who did the best she could with what she had at the time to try and survive. "Don't worry about it," he said as he leaned back in his seat. "I've had my ass chewed for less." Idazon approached them then, and seeing as Teagan seemed to know the other candidate Marcus elected to let them continue their conversation while he turned his attention back to dinner. It was good food and he ate it with all the grace of a true denizen of the military; quickly and efficiently just in case he suddenly ran out of time and had to do something else in a hurry. As he ate Marcus let his eyes roam the room, trying to keep tabs on as many of the candidates as possible and hoping that Aterrimus and the other assitants were picking up the slack. He cringed when a particularly loud crash of thunder sent the entire complex into darkness. Heaving a sigh, Marcus washed down a mouthful of food with a quick drink before rising to his feet. He couldn't see a damn thing but the last thing he wanted was for people to start panicking unnecessarily and cause themselves or others bodily harm. "Alright everyone," he called over the growing murmur. "Stay calm, it's just a--" Little glowy toothed thing zipping across the floor what the fuck was that?! Reflexively, Marcus reached for a gun at his hip that wasn't there, and when he realized that he immediately sought an alternative. There were knives on the table but it was too dark for him to be able to grab one with any sort of haste and that little whatever-the-hell was coming on fast. Stepping back, Marcus instead snatched up his chair with one hand gripping the back and the other holding the seat, legs pointed forward lion-tamer style. It was rudimentary at best, but better than nothing. It also made him look probably more than a little stupid when the lights finally came back on and there was a tragendire kit sitting in Teagan's lap. Marcus stared at the creature for a minute before exhaling loudly and letting his chair drop back to the floor with an audible thud. "You little shit," he said with no real heat in his voice, briefly looking over to the now all too visible adults. Why hadn't anyone told him about this? At Teagan's vaguely confused look, Marcus settled slowly into his seat again. "It's a tragendire," he explained. "Sentient bonding beast, I can get you some info on them later if you want. I guess that little guy took a shine to you." |

Nox Tag: Anyone; plus reaction to glowy jaws The first thing the young elf noticed, even though he was in a crowd of people, he was quite alone. The only person that he knew at all on a first name basis is Ahmduer. His centaur friend however was way over by his sister the last he checked and Nox didn't want to fight the crowd let alone impose. The elf still couldn't believe how things panned out those first few weeks since his arrival here. He never expected to get a chance to meet a centaur, let alone room with one. On top of that...his roommate is pretty much the prince of his people. Not that Nox minded that, there is a lot of royalty in the world. After a few minutes of awkward introductions the elf realized they're just people too. Maybe that was why they where paired together? The higher ups figured he wouldn't freak out too much from his psyche evaluation or perhaps it really was all random. Ether way, his roommate was way up there and he was down here with some other candidates. Before he had a chance to introduce himself to a few of his fellow white coats there was the Titan's speech along with the wyrmling master's. The elf stood in rapt attention to the lesson plan for the most part till he noticed that their pop star also made her appearance among the their fellow candidates. When the tables pop up from the ground he squeezed his way towards her table only to find that he wasn't the only one. Kinda natural to expect but a little disappointing at not being able to snag a seat. Nox still sported an easy going smile and took a seat at table a little less crowded. When the food was brought out that smile morphed into a grin. One can never say that Aesulla doesn't pay attention to the detail. That can't be a coincidence that his favorite dish is sitting not a even a few feet away from him. Nox took that opportunity to tuck into the meal and to talked a little bit with some possible new friends. Conversations naturally steered towards dragons and the future bonding ceremony along with a few other things. The elf was excited about the prospect and its easily seen in his animated gestures. He still hasn't gotten used to not signing and speaking at the same time. They were getting to the subject on what kind of elements were going to appear in the eggs when the power decided to cut out. "What is that?!" Was the first thing out of his mouth during the blackout. Nox stared at what can only be described as a floating glowing set of jaws wandered through the tables. After they saw it stopped in front of a table and introduced itself the back up power kicked in and Nox saw what the teeth were attached to. It was kinda adorable. It took a moment before his memory supplied information. That's a tragendire! He finally remembered what the little thing is called! The elf hadn't expected them to see the beasts up close like this and it looked like there was more. TNox saw two adults with a carrier. With a snort he realized that had to be what the wyrmling master was implying earlier with fast growing critters. Nox was practically bouncing in his seat as he looked over to see where the royal centaur siblings where sitting. They got kits for the candidates! This is going to be amazin...Wait. Ahm? His excited train of thought came to a halt. The arm he was waving at them with slowly stopped. Where in the world is Ahm? His roommate was just by his sister just a few moments ago. The elf looked around in worry. This can't be good, the power outage shouldn't have been that bad on his friend's heart right? Nox leaned down a little to see if maybe the prince fell down? He grunted a bit as he righted himself again, can't see anything from this far away. "Hey um did ,anyone see where Ahmdur went?" He asked, voice pitched a little high in worry. |

The great white and blue Titan Tragendire, Polaris, who carried in her jaws what at first looked like a very large purse thing, set the thing (which was squeaking with an adorable pitch of many voices) down upon the sands near ish to where the candidates were. She chuffed at Oreius with an annoyed tone, clearly not pleased that he had either hopped over the edge of the bag, or else, melted through the side. After she did that, Soyokaze, who was probably her mate, helped her to straighten the sides of the pen. The edges were higher than the kits should have been able to climb or jump over- Oreius had probably managed to climb over the others somehow- and also were solid. Really, all of the kits could have been unleashed at the same time, but it was possible two might fight over the same candidate, so not only were the kits kept in a large play pen, they were mostly unable to see over the edge of the pen. What was visible to candidates were many, multicolored muzzles and paws whiffling over the edge. Yggdrasil to Lysander While all this was going on, Yggdrasil was checking to make sure that the frail human was okay. She was happy to hear that he wanted to learn with the candidates. When he asked if they were all right, she nodded and chortled, “I'm perfectly all right,...I do hope that scare didn't jarr your heart or something!” She tilted her gaze to Thalron as if pondering for a moment,... “That power outage,...You didn't happen to cause that, did you?” She really didn't think he had, but it was probably better to ask. Her tone wasn't accusatory, and she didn't seem upset about it. There was a bit of worry in her thoughts, though- This was Aesulla, the power didn't just go out. True the weather could knock out the main ones, but secondary ones were always ready to go. It would be wise to speak with Terminus later about it... Xifeng to Gus It probably would have been wise for the albino white peacock looking dragon to avoid exerting herself too much this close to laying, but she had never in her life let anything keep her from what she loved doing, especially if it was for the enjoyment of others. True, she enjoyed making and crafting new explosives for the purpose of fighting in the war, but this was far more enjoyable. Creating fireworks that were safe indoors- well, if you could really call this indoors. It had to have a low smoke content, be colorful, and also be well timed with the concert. Looking back on it now, the white dragon was very pleased with how it had gone down. No one had been burned alive or exploded, and no one had asphyxiated on the smoke or been poisoned by anything so that was good. She had to set them off a bit lower than normal, but high enough as to not cause permanent deafness. That last one was probably the most important, considering there were people here for the concert- and the rock star herself. Sighing, the dragon had started to lift herself up from the top of the stage where she had been resting (More or less out of sight). She had previously been flying in and around each of her explosives, shaping them to go off in time with the music, but found that at this stage of gravidity left her feeling a bit weak and tired. Her sleek, slim form was far less slim now than it had ever been, and she held too much pride to say she was uncomfortable, especially around her mate, who would probably blame himself or worry. He had lost too much in his life thus far to not worry, she rationalized in her mind. All Xifeng knew was that there were at least a few eggs, and all of them were on the larger side of things, which did not help matters. She heaved herself up and swayed a little, using her wings to balance herself just as the storm in the sky got really crazy and the lights went out. Had she not seen the Tragendire pair coming, she might have been more alarmed at the small black thing on the ground, but truthfully, she was more worried about the lights and power. She was forced to wait until the backup power kicked in before she could take off, as gracefully as she could, and flew off to where her mate was waiting for her. Her landing was probably less than grand, but it would not have been wise to comment on it, especially to a broody dragon who was very uncomfortable at present. She heaved herself down on the soft cushions in the stands and leaned close to Gus, resting her head against his shoulder with a whistly, bird like churr noise. "Well, that was all very exciting but now I'm tired....Did the fireworks look good from here? Normally I could do them from a little ways off but these had to be so specific and non lethal....Hmm, how many of those critters do you suppose they brought for the kiddies?" She asked after a few moments of what was probably half asleep churring. She was tired and hungry but couldn't decide which of the two she was more of, and so opted to strike a conversation instead. Elsewhere While people were settling down, as far as the triple element Polaris could see, the great Tragendire flopped down next to the mixed litter of kits, which was made up of quite a few litters. As far as she could detect, nearly every kit had come from a different litter- As was tradition. The best of the best had been hand picked a month ago when the lot were first born, those deemed the best for candidates just starting out- both for the challenge and as a learning experience. The most eager of the kits were clambering over one another to peer over the edge of the pen, so she lowered her great muzzle and gently picked one up by the special loose skin of the scruff, and set it down outside the pen. A second one got a little too excited and managed to grab onto the adults belly fluff on her neck, and made a break for it as soon as it could let go safely. Polaris, who was already comfortable where she was sitting, grunted and snorted and decided it wasn't worth it to go after the eager kit. Oh well, at least it wasn't the entire group at once. She chuffed in mild laughter, imagining back to that day many years ago- it had been chaos. Excellent, amusing chaos. But it had also caused fights and there was a reason things were done this way, and she wasn't about to cause /more/ chaos than had already happened. Two of them shouldn't be too bad unless they happened to both fancy the same person, and that would not be great. Almost as soon as the first one had been let loose and shaken himself off, regaining some dignity before moving, the little silver-slate kit began to amble off again, heading...well, right for where the black Tragendire kit had gone to. A close eye was on the kit, even Soyokaze had half sat up, before relaxing for the moment as the bold little beast made his way to the group. The kit was really quite beautiful, and even had a very long, lean looking tail which was not at all the normal. (Usually, long tailed Tragendire were also thickly tailed at the same time). He was a shimmering example of grays and soft blues and dark tints here and there- but what was most striking about him were the markings that covered him from muzzle to tail tip. Sharp blade like patterns with silver inlay, long streaks down his legs too. His mane was another story entirely- a short to tall to short again down the tail semi-single row, which might not have been too odd, had he not also had a very prominent forward pointing, and sharp looking mohawk. That wasn't the only sharp looking feature about him though. His talons were quite sharp, as were the double rows of saber fangs, a long and short set, metallic silver-white. He moved across the sands quickly and decisively- He knew exactly where he was going to go and there were no questions about it. The nearly three foot (at the shoulder) 'little' kit was on a mission and nothing was going to stop him from making a charming impression on the candidate he had his eyes on. Quite suddenly, at least for the boy who was most likely not prepared for it, the Metal element Tragendire kit jumped up into the lap of someone trying to eat as fast as he could. It would have been no small chore for the kit to just grab the food, but he was smarter than that, and lord was he adorable and charming. He had that sleek, but cute charm about him that almost screamed ladies man in the future, but for the moment his clear, intelligent, aquamarine ocean blue eyes were on Marcus. -Marcus! I hope you are not too busy for Agrius?- his tone lilted a little as if he was worried he might be inconvenient. -I'm really quite hungry,...Can I share?- he asked in a remarkably polite manner, his long tail swooshing side to side, a faint blue glow visible through his metallic fur. To the touch, he was warm but not uncomfortably so. A Metal element, with an internal forge of sorts. He was beautiful, and he had not chosen a proper candidate but sometimes things like that happened. If you were sitting amongst them, there was an even higher chance. ![]() Size Chart Name: Agrius Element: Metal Personality: Courageous, Charming, Ingenious Bonds to: Marcus (Isra) See Profile: HERE The other kit did not seem interested whatsoever in anyone close to where the first two had gone. She had higher priorities at the moment and none of them involved following the others. There was a soul out there for her that was special and unique! It needed her now. She could sense unrest, and worry. Another kit had also been stricken with the same feeling of anxiety that she herself felt now, but the other kit had not quite been fast enough, or tall enough, to grab hold of the titan. This kit was slightly taller and almost seemed a bit bulkier than the other males had been, but not too much so. Her base coat looked to be a royal, vivid purple with gradients into a lighter almost tropical pink to wine color. Her mane was wild, too- it was a triple row down the central line of her spine. Accenting the royal colors was a distinctly gold and gold-orange gradient to her underbelly and mane tips, as well as the faint glow from within, which made her royal purples look lighter about the chest and neck and face in some places. What was truly amazing about her though, was the beautiful gold rings that adorned her body from head to tail, much like the rings one would see from a drip in a pond. As she walked, the rings had a gentle way of mimicking exactly the growing and fading of these ripples, a soft sound like wind-chimes following them across her flanks and up her legs with each step. Sound waves that reacted to the tiniest paw movement. Upon her face were glorious golden streaks with dashes within, accenting her molten gold eyes. Her tail was not anywhere near as long and lithe as Agrius, but it wasn't short either- it was thick with fluff on the top and the bottom. Somewhat curious was the arrangement of her mane- from the top of her head to the fore of her shoulders, the outer row of her mane formed a forward growing section much like a mohawk, tall and gradiented from purple to wine to gold at its tips. It was long too, and some parts flopped to one side of the other at random. The Tragendire paused, looking up at the candidates who were by now oooing and aaaaweing at cooing at the precious three-foot tall creature. It was apparent that she had two saber fangs, which were almost black, like her talons were as well. She had stopped in front of a pair of centaurs, and looked extremely confused or curious at them. One of the two might have become alarmed at how she stared, and probably more worried when the creature made up her mind. She had proven herself to be a good climber and now was not any less of a challenge! So she did just that- Expertly leaping from an empty chair up to the equine shoulder of a dark coated centaur, before scooting along to try and be cuddled up against the centaurs chest and face like the others had done. This was a bit more difficult, but it didn't stop her from trying, the silly feline mannered thing. -My Azarahl! Why are you so worried? Your Katci is here now! I will help, you'll see! Everything will be okay, just you wait!- She paused as her stomach grumbled in annoyance. -Er,...Maybe after food? I'm very hungry, Aza....- the creature managed to add at the end, almost quietly. Aidan; tag Brie, reaction to The Scary Toothy Thing. The dotty little filly had been careful in her maneuver to not step on toes or bump people. She wasn't a big individual and at most her knees, or what humans liked to call knees, only really came up to shoulder-height. On returning to all fours she was mindful of feet of all kinds or anything else that might stray under hoof. It probably would have been wiser letting Minerva lead as she was altogether much larger than the little 'taur. The music finally died down and she was thankful even if her ears were still ringing somewhat. "A mess indeed," sighed the woman in her usual soft lilt. "Aside from being half-deaf and still having some of that racket bouncing in my skull, I'm alright and it's... interesting. Still getting used to everything but at least these clothes don't look too bad!" For all it was Aesulla had made an overall good impression on the centaur even if the event itself had overwhelmed her a little. She was sure in time she'd get used to the grand and noisy nature of the place as she undertook whatever it was they'd have her do. "It's not like home at all, but it's not too bad. We could be stranded in the middle of nowhere with just our wits and a carrot." Now that she could hear properly Dan took time to listen to what was being said as everyone seemed to flow about in a precise, knowing manner. Mentions of a storm worried her somewhat as bad weather was lethal if you were caught out in it. Then a second began to talk and as she gave it more attention, being directly related to them and their candidacy, tables appeared from the floor like some sort of ghostly apparition, only tangible. It was a little unnerving but she was trying to keep her ears on Aterrimus. And then the food was introduced. Her stomach was both grumbling with hunger and turning with nerves, so to eat or not to eat was a rather pressing question. She also didn't want to seem rude in such pleasant company and not eating was one way to always offend a host... maybe if she just had a little? Yes, that's what she'd do. With her decision made she realised she'd not been paying much attention to the Wyrmlingmaster and she cursed under her breath. Maybe she'd ask Brie later if any of it was important. BOOM. Aidan almost hit the roof when the lights went out to the sound of several dozen surprised voices. Someone bumped into her backside and very nearly recieved a kicking; her panic almost overriding her manners. She didn't like the dark at the best of times and when it was suddenly dark in a strange place, even with people all around, she liked it even less. Her nerves were just about calm as she peered at the shadowy figures she could make out when Brie's voice squeaked and drew her attention. "The hell is that thing?!" Dan's eyes flicked towards movement and her blood momentarily ran cold. Teeth. Sharp teeth. Glowing sharp teeth. Moving at some pace through the crowd and flanked by screams, shouts, barks of fright and the sound of footsteps as they bobbed through the air. What owned them? It was definitely carnivorous and they were all very much made of meaty goodness. Were there more than one? Why was it dark? What was going on? Her mind whirred with questions and when Brie dragged her close she huddled against her smaller friend in sheer terror ready to kick the daylights out of anything that thought her legs looked tasty. |

Selina Tag: Teagan The storm got worse as Selina began to eat. She got a little more worried and kept glancing around a bit and trying to pick up any information as to if the storm was affecting the more inland regions. She was about to ask someone when suddenly the power went out. Selina wasn't afraid of the dark or anything, but even she got worried a little worried when the appearance of glowing teeth came running towards the table she was sitting at. When the power flickered back on and the glowing teeth turned out to be a weird bear dog thing which was later identified was a Tragendire she just sorta blinked a bit. When Teagan spoke to her Selina at first thought she was talking to someone else and then blinked a bit "Well, he better not eat my dog." She kind of joked, she doubted very much that Teagan would let the thing cause trouble. "I suppose we don't need a night light either." She nodded a bit and finished the bit of salad on her fork. She looked at Oreius, he was not like anything that Selina had seen before. Then more showed up and began to find and bond to various other people in the audience. She blinked just a bit, not all of them seemed to glow that was only Teagans. "Well. There is apparently never a dull moment here. It's like the polar opposite from back home." She nodded with that slightly country twang to her voice as she reached to put another bit of steak onto her plate, this one smaller than her last one. ----------------------------------------------- Minerva Tag: Braelyn, and Aidan If Minerva had reared up in the crowd people would get hurt. She did however wave back to Aidan as they made their way to her. She smiled a bit at the small spitfire of a taur. "Hello Aidan." She said with a nod of her head "What did you think of the show? Brie liked it, she even danced a little." She teased her friend a bit and then nodded to the ice centaurs statement. It wasn't home, but it was a proving ground of sorts and people would soon learn what the centaur candidates were made of. Minerva turned her attention to the stage as Terminus began to speak, she kept her attention on the dragon as she stood near her friends. The next dragon began to speak and Minerva nodded her head a little at what Aterrimus was saying. Things were going to be exciting and Minerva honestly hoped that she could rise up to the challenge, she would hate to disappoint her friends and family back home. After all, it wasn't every centaur that got to do this, they were hand picked and Minerva was proud to be one of the few chosen to try and bond to the dragons. Then the power went out! Minerva didn't like things that were unexpected. In fact she honestly hated them, in combat unexpected things popping up could get you or your friends killed. So the lose of the power set her on edge as she moved in front of her friends in case something tried to hurt them. She was big and tough and would serve as a fine shield for the two smaller taurs. Of course when she saw the glowing teeth her instinct was to reach for her weapon, which was not there of course and she let out a snort of frustration that blew steam around her. As the power came back and Brie pretty much shouted she turned and glanced to her friend "It's a thing." She said simply "It doesn't appear to be harmful." She quickly added "I hope." and then two more showed up and Minerva blinked a bit "Yes, it appears they're not harmful." She gave her expert opinion. |

NPC Aylin Wolfe Tagged: Tobin Wolfe "I wouldn't be going to war to put people out of their misery." She hadn't meant to snap it. Of all the people Aylin knew, her father deserved to be snapped at the least. He tried his best, and she knew that he was trying to comfort her and ease some of her indecision. That didn't make what he was saying any more true, however, and she sighed miserably. "You don't go to war to be kind." And maybe that was why Terminus was so determined to stay out of the one that was brewing in Nondir. She couldn't blame him, truly. No one wanted to send their people to war, knowing some would never make it back. But the cause was just! People were dying in Nondir. Surely, that had to be worth the risk! Her chest tightened, and she exhaled slowly. She was ready to form a response to her father's suggestion when the lights went out. She stiffened, ice in her veins. Are we under attack? She didn't even consider that it might be the weather. Instead, all she could imagine were dragons from Nondir, belching fire and lightning and ice, their riders tall and faceless. When Tobin reached for her hand, she didn't hesitate to grab it, nor to hold on tightly. Her chest heaved with barely contained panic, and the flash of glowing fangs in the dark only seemed to confirm her fears. She screamed. She didn't want to be here anymore. She wanted to be home, safe, surrounded by her siblings. She wanted to be away from violence, from conflict, where she could--! The lights flickered back on, and Aylin's breathing started to relax when she realized the perpetrator was not an enemy dragon, but a baby-- What had her father called it again? A Tragendire? A strange creature, but the longer she looked at them, the cuter they were. And the more foolish she felt for being afraid of them in the first place. "Where do they come from?" She asked her father with a hint of yearning, her eyes following the newest two kits as they ambled from their playpen and made their bonds. "Do they live here?" She associated this place with everything mechanical, and a host of fluffy kits was not was she expected. And then, perhaps a bit more quietly, "Do you think, maybe...?" |

Anviel Veyanir Tag: Selina (and references of Teagan) Two more tragendire appeared, the young ones- upon closer inspection, Anviel realized that they were coming from the cloth thing in the larger tragendire's jaws. They went and found people in the crowd, like the first one had. When they weren't some strange, mysterious creature running in the dark, they were actually a bit cute. Sure, they also looked like they could mangle a human or elf worse than a fork could mangle a stick of butter, but if one were to look beyond that, they could be cute in their own sort of way. Turning her eyes from the creatures, the elf noticed a few strange glances from two candidates near her- obviously the screaming had been quite uncalled for. Blushing with embarrassment, Anviel rose from her seat, leaving her pizza on her plate, but finishing her juice. She walked a bit until reaching another table, looking for something to do. Maybe she could help clean up or something interesting like that. On second thought, it looked like somebody had just finished up their salad, and was reaching for a piece of steak. Ooh. Steak sounded really good to Anviel- she should've mentioned how much she liked it on her dietary preference sheet. She stopped by the person. "Hey, could you tell me if that steak's any good?" The elf asked. "I mean, it looks good, but... Oh, sorry, didn't see you were talking to somebody." Anviel didn't really have an excuse for not noticing, either- it appeared that the girl was talking to whoever had bonded to the tragendire with glowing stripes. Blushing a bit, she glanced around for something else to do- preferably on her own. She hoped she was done embarrassing herself for the rest of the ceremony. |

Marcus; tag Teagan Watching Teagan's tragendire made for good dinner theater, and with things relatively under control Marcus turned his attention back to his meal. He did look back to the adult tragendires every now and then. The bundle Polaris carried intrigued him, and when she finally set it down his suspicions were confirmed; more kits yet to be bonded to a few of the lucky candidates of this class. Unfortunately there were never enough to go around, not when each class generally consisted of a couple hundred rider hopefuls. With luck there would be no hard feelings to cause trouble during lessons. He doubted it a bit though. Marcus saw the second and third kits lifted from the carry basket but watched with only a vague interest as they began to move. Tragendire were useful, no doubt about it, especially in battle. He'd seen them in action before, though the opportunity to work with them was generally reserved for their bonded partners. Bonding to one himself was something that Marcus had considered before, and being bonded to one did not exclude a person from also being able to bond to a dragon later, but tragendire weren't just handed out willy nilly to anyone who asked for one. Not even in the military--especially not in the military. So when the small silver bullet came darting toward his table again, Marcus didn't think much of it. They were intended for the candidates and there was, conveniently enough, another candidate seated right next to Teagan. There were some seated at the table behind him, as well. Needless to say, no one was more surprised than Marcus when the tragendire kit abruptly leapt up into his lap, and by the Celestial he was heavy for a baby. Marcus spluttered and nearly spat out his food, looking with wide eyes down at the dog-sized creature. Marcus! I hope you are not too busy for Agrius? he said as he shifted his weight, oblivious to the reason why Marcus suddenly let out a low grunt and tensed beneath him. I'm really quite hungry,...Can I share? He was going to die. This was his last, most remote chance at ever bonding to a dragon and he was going to die before the eggs were even laid. Marcus muffled a cough, his face slowly beginning to turn red as he tried valiantly to swallow his food instead of choking on it. Both hands were resting on Agrius to hold the tragendire still, and he knew the little guy was hungry but holy hell he had to--he needed to move-- Marcus? Is everything alright? Agrius asked, leaning forward to snuffle his bonded's face curiously. Marcus just nodded jerkily as he finally managed to rid his mouth of food, and once relatively sure that trying to move wasn't going to cause him to choke to death, he acted. "Fine, just... gotta..." With a grimace and a grunt, Marcus at last shifted Agrius just enough that he was able to reach underneath the tragendire and move the hind paw that was painfully crushing his groin to a more convenient location. With the offending pressure gone he gave a groan and a sigh of relief, his head dropping forward briefly to rest against the kit's shoulder. What--oh. Oh! Sorry about that, I didn't realize... Agrius leaned back to glance down at where he'd inadvertently placed his foot, head tilting curiously. You know, that seems like a really bad place to keep those. "Tell me about it," Marcus grumbled, but he wasn't able to find it in himself to actually be mad. Once the pain faded, it was easier to focus on Agrius--his new bonded tragendire. Unexpected, yes, and there were bound to be some pissed off candidates because one of the staff had "stolen" their chance at a 'dire themselves. As if he'd coerced Agrius with-- "Right, food." There was plenty of it, and Agrius was at least polite enough to not just jump on the table and start wolfing it down. Though it was a bit of a reach what with the kit still sitting on his lap, Marcus did manage to snag a plate of steak that someone nudged in his direction. He didn't feel too bad when he set it in front of the ravenous kit only to have Agrius tear into it eagerly; hopefully the rest of the people at this table were willing to wait for fresh ones. Marcus was reduced to a very large seat cushion as he sat back and let the cub eat his fill. Unable to resist, he turned a grin to Teagan. "His name is Agrius," he said and immediately felt a little bit like a moron for the way he was damn near giddy about it. Except she--oh right. Shit. "Hey, share a bit, will ya?" he asked with a light drumming of his fingers against Agrius' shoulder. The Metal 'dire paused and looked over at Oreius, licking his chops before he picked up one of the relatively unchewed steaks and tossed it toward the smaller male. NPC Tobin Wolfe; tag Aylin War was never kind. He was glad she knew that, relieved that she was reluctant to partake of it. Some were far too hot blooded for his liking; no one should ever enjoy the act of war. But sometimes... sometimes it was necessary. And sometimes you had to weigh the value of a few lives against the value of many. In this case it was better to fight than to let Vicarous roll over the world like a plague. Tobin just hated that his children were getting caught up in the fight. "They're bred here in Aesulla," he explained, glad to have something else to discuss that wasn't warfare and bloodshed. Better to have Aylin distracted by something that was (relatively) cute and fluffy than to continue to work herself up over being a candidate. Better this than the constant grief of loss. If she was lucky... "It's possible." Absolutely possible, but it didn't look as though there were very many available for this year's candidates. Unfortunately there was just no way to bring a kit for everyone--and even if there was, you couldn't force a tragendire to bond to someone. While he did hope that one might decide to look to Aylin, the thought also made Tobin a little nervous. Tragendire were also known war beasts. "It's hard to say, though. Gus, Tag: Xifeng It would indeed have been wise for Xifeng to not exert herself so much this close to laying, but Gustabari had learned almost eons ago that suggesting anything to the contrary to a broody female was likely to have dire consequences. He was a bit surprised he didn't still have a bald patch after a one time partner took a chunk out of him over such opinions. It was best not to take any chances now, despite the pleasant history he had with the albino dragoness. With the throng of guests mostly clearing away with the end of the concert the somewhat rugged human gave a stretch. He contemplating shifting, but doing so in the open didn't sit well with him. Alas, the needs of his mate were far more important than his own. With the stands clearing steadily and fewer people nearby that he might squish, the fire gave a great stretch and shifted to his proper, fluffy fiery self with a shake and a pleasant rumble as Xifeng made use of his shoulder as a headrest. As the lights went out, Gustabari rolled his shoulders softly before making use of the vents along his side, keeping his mouth parted slightly to serve as an oversized night light. While Xifeng likely didn't need the help, he was happy to provide. It did not seem normal for the technological abode to lose power. The main grid, perhaps, with a storm as severe as the one raging outside; but this blast had knocked out the auxillary as well, leaving everyone well and truly in the dark. Something about that made him nervous, but he was not in any position to inquire and thus, would not pry. He couldn't see what was causing all the commotion down below, what with serving as a giant sconce for a moment, but once Xifeng was well and settled he closed his vents and blew the tiniest gout of flame just as the lights came back on. He glanced down from the stands to see the arrival of the two tragendire and the bundle of kits. That must have been the source of the screaming-or something related therein as his brief scan caught the sight of the little black nightmare child that had apparently escaped. "Well, that was all very exciting but now I'm tired....Did the fireworks look good from here? Normally I could do them from a little ways off but these had to be so specific and non lethal....Hmm, how many of those critters do you suppose they brought for the kiddies?" "The fireworks were lovely, though I was paying more attention to you than the display." Gustabari mused. "As for how many? Never enough to go around, I'm sure. I'd venture a guess, maybe a dozen, probably fewer." Bonding ceremonies were always interesting to watch, regardless of the species. With a light nuzzle he saved any further conversation for later whilst his mate nearly dozed. ==== Brie; Dillybean, Minerva Braelyn reached out a hand to her friend to try and be reassuring. She knew that Aidan wasn't a fan of storms, but this one was outside. The matter of what had knocked out all of the power however, was likely not something they'd be informed of as the lights flickered back on. The owner of those sharp teeth was some sort bearlike beast and Brie gave a small snort. They had similar creatures in the wilderness back home, and not one of them was friendly, if her memory served. Still, this one seemed largely harmless, if creepy. Two more had arrived on the stage and they were much, much larger. "I guess they're safe, someone would've said something by now." she tried to comfort the slightly taller centaur. "What do you think, Minerva? ...what's with the cubs?" ==== Teagan: Tag, Anviel, Selina, Marcus "We'll have to work on that..." Teagan wasn't sure what to make of the possibility that Oreius could eat the old dog, nor could she fathom him finding the thing even remotely tasty-but that was another matter entirely. She'd have to work with Selina on that one, at least a little bit, and working with the woman was still a sore subject in general. Turning back to immediate company, Teagan listened to Marcus' explanation whilst the kit in her lap chowed down on the steak in front of them. "Wow." To say she was a even a little chuffed was an understatement. "Not sure what you like there bud, but I guess I won't argue." she ruffled his mane slightly as he polished off the steak, reaching for another as he still seemed hungry and the vegetables were apparently anethema when there was obviously meat available. "So, they don't compete with dragons for bonding?" she wasn't really sure how the whole thing worked. "...not that I'll have anything to worry about there." That was a can of worms that anyone was free to open if they so chose. -You don't need a dragon. You have Oreius....and I need more food.- Teagan quirked an eyebrow at the bottomless beasty. "You are going to be so much trouble." she reached for something else in the meantime, watching the larger tragendires on stage as two more kits were released. "Hey, could you tell me if that steak's any good?" ... "I mean, it looks good, but... Oh, sorry, didn't see you were talking to somebody." She turned about at the unfamiliar address with almost a smile. "To be honest, I haven't the slightest idea, as this little guy's the one enjoying them. I could pass you on-" or well she would have if the sound of Marcus squeaking and his chair giving a heavy creak didn't draw her attention back as yet another cub squirmed about into a seat while destroying some rather important assets. "I ah...think you may have to wait for the next batch." she did her best to stifle a laugh at Marcus' predicament. |
