Maksim
Tagged: Ahmduer, Zemal, and literally everyone else involved in this mess

It didn't take long for the Candidate Maksim and Mesikämmen had subdued to be taken over by a higher authority. The Tragendire relinquished his conquest with perhaps a bit more reluctance than Maksim, but it also appeared he'd barely hurt the boy at all. The teenager had a nasty bite on his leg for sure, but nothing that wouldn't heal up with some stitching and good rest.

Maksim sat back on his heels as the boy was moved away, tears streaming down his face. He might have even felt embarrassed for the boy if he hadn't been such an idiot. Satisfied that their job was done, he wiped his hands off on the legs of his pants. Maybe now things would get back to normal, and he'd be able to finish his meal. He glanced around to try and find Zemal, and though he caught a flash of Ramahendra here and there, he couldn't find his friend. Damn. Later, then. For now, Maksim focused on getting to his feet.

What's wrong with the centaur? Mesikämmen asked suddenly, his own attention fixed on the continuing commotion rather than on food. He was a man of action, after all, and if there was something that needed to be done, he was going to do it. He looks like he's hurt.
He chuffed worriedly, and turned his head to look expectantly on at his bonded. They were going to do something about that, weren't they?

"It looks like everyone has it under control," Maksim tried to reassure his beast, one hand laid on top of the kit's fluffy head. Upon closer assessment, however, it appeared that the centaur prince was still struggling. Maksim wasn't much of a horseman (not that a centaur was a horse), but he didn't think those heaving, sweating sides were the signs of a relaxing centaur whose anxiety and discomfort were coming under control. His eyes darted nervously back and forth across the scene, from where the centaur lay in the sand to where there were others gathered around to.. Dig? Why? "What are they doing?"

They're trying to free him, Mesikämmen replied, his little body stiff, coiled like a spring ready to loose at a moment's notice. We should help!

Maksim groaned. It certainly looked that way. He thought he knew a way that would help, but if the cinch was too tight.... "Come on," He said at last, reluctantly decisive, and broke into a run with his tragendire hot on his heels. He dropped to his knees on the opposite side of where the others worked, grabbed a stirrup, and promptly threw it back over the centaur's barrel. "My name's Maksim," He talked mostly to keep himself calm, but figured it wouldn't hurt to let the poor centaur know he wasn't trying to do any more damage. "I'm going to try and get this off of you. Try to breathe in, alright? As much as you can."

The girth was done up tight. So tight, in fact, that Maksim was surprised the poor man could breathe at all. How had he seen this done, again? He'd been riding before, but he'd only watched the saddling process. He immediately tugged upwards on the girth, and grunted with the strain. The leather slipped in his hands, but was caught again as Mesikämmen grabbed the end in his teeth. With both of them hauling the strap upwards, the cinch tightened against the centaur, but loosened enough at the buckle to tug the leather free. The girth flopped down onto the sand, and Maksim panted as he held his hands up to his face for close inspection. The leather had started to rub them raw, and he hissed as he ran his thumbs across a couple of the angry, red friction burns. Nothing that wouldn't get better within a few days.

"Shit," He gulped down another mouthful of air, heart pounding from adrenaline as he looked the poor prince over. "Are you alright?"

Eidolon
Tag: Ahmduer, those around the Prince, Teagan

The Tragendiers were not much of a surprise to Eidolon. She had expected they would have some available for bonding but she had not known it would be so soon. Perhaps it was meant to have the students realize what exactly it was they were here for. By either bonding or witnessing their peers bond to a Tragendier the life changing effects of bonding to a dragon could really begin to sink in. She imagined that the next moment of realization would be when the mothers began to lay their eggs and they were hardened enough for the Touching. She watched various kits make their way to their bonded. It was always a happy occasion when a bond was forged. The black and white kit seemed to cause much concern from the candidates but from what she could tell she sensed no illness being exuded despite its lackluster attempts at life. Two littermates that were also pulled out seemed to try and get it to find someone to bond to, even prowling through the candidates as if looking for someone suitable for it. It didn't seem to notice and continued to lay where it had been drug. Her attention was then drawn to a Tragendier that approached sharing one of her own elements, Solar. She couldn't help but smile at how formal the kit was as he bowed to the Prince but she was not surprised in the least when Maksim was the direction he turned to and bonded with. Eidolon was fond of Maksim knowing him well when be had befriended Zemal and in her duty to watch over the Prince had watched over those near to him as well.

The peace was shattered though when an equine scream echoed through the hatchery and the centaurian prince was seen running onto the sands bound and saddled, drunken troublemakers in tow. Troublemakers seemed like a tame word for what they had done and Eidolon's eyes blazed in sudden fury. She was not going to intervene as the centaurs rushed to the aid of their Prince but it seemed her own Prince was determined to help as well, rushing off with Maksim and his newly bonded Mesikämmen. She felt no danger would befall the Prince as those who had attacked Ahmduer were being taken care of a little to effectively by the centaurs and even some friends that had been made already. She followed albeit at a more gentle pace, there was no need for her to rush. She was concerned by the aggression that some candidates were showing. Azarahl's reaction was understandable seeing it was her brother and prince that was being defiled, but there were other candidates that had no ties to the prince that were taking out their fury rather viciously.

As she stepped passed the front row of tables the air around her seemed to shimmer and much like the centaurs could her body changed back to her original form as a unicorn. The effect of a Unicorns aura would effect even the most violent, calming them and bringing the tense aggression down allowing a feeling of peace to fall onto the sands.

"Cease your fighting. Your Prince has been rescued and though what these men have done is unforgivable enacting your revenge and anger in this manner is not the answer. They do need to be somewhat whole to face appropriate justice for their crimes."

Satisfied that the fighting had stopped she turned her attention to Ahmduer and those working on removing the saddles and binding ropes. She approached and lowered her head down, her horn barely brushing against the buckskins hide. She was startled by what she could sense within the young stallion. There was much wrong that had existed before the drunken men got a hold of him. She could easily fix the fractured bones, sprains, and sores that had been caused by the rubbing ropes and saddle. But what she sensed from his hearts surprised her, they were beyond repair and likely from a childhood injury. It was not a health problem one would expect from a candidate but if he had been allowed she was sure there were reasons behind it. She had done for him what she could and now she turned to any others that had been injured during the fight. The electrocuted man that had been unfortunate enough to be grabbed by Azarahl was nothing more than a mindless lump, his mind had been burned beyond repair and though his body may be alive, his mind was forever gone. She turned then to the one whose face had been charred and beaten healing him just enough to make him recognizable and not in critical condition. She noticed the woman who had beat him clutching her hand, likely having broken it.

"I will heal your hand if you will allow it." She asked gesturing her horn to Teagans hand. The offer was extended to anyone else you had been injured.

Aidan
Tag: Brie, Team Worst Life Choices, anyone really

Somewhat comforted by the presence of calmer individuals who seemed none too bothered by the presence of the curious furry things, Aidan slowly began to come around to them. Dog-things were far from her favourite creatures but these were also slightly bear-ish and dopey as they loped around. Maybe they'd... not be dangerous, flesh-rending monsters towards friendly people. So long as they didn't upset their companions, of course. Her attention was taken up by the poor little soul who seemed to want to be anywhere but here. It didn't stand or even try and for a moment she wondered if the floppy little pup had any bones in it at all (a ridiculous idea, really, but a momentary thought nontheless). Being part of a large family she was used to children and their ailments and she thought long and hard about offering some help to the flopling, but it wasn't a centaur or even remotely related so her experience was probably about as helpful as a chocolate teapot.

The whole event seemed to buzz with a general air of pleasantness despite the power outage and the former maelstrom of noise that was the concert. Even moreso now that food was out and about and everyone was able to converse amongst themselves. Her stomach was still somewhat iffy so she didn't perhaps eat as much as she should have.

And then the hall was pierced by the chillingly familiar scream of a centaur in dire distress. An ear turned first, then her head and then her whole body to see just what was going on. The sight that met her ruffled feathers the centaur didn't have. Not only was their Prince being unwillingly ridden by drunkards, they'd tacked him up like some sort of rodeo pony! A bit fit for horses had trapped his fingers against his face and the idiot boy on his back, followed by his similarly drunken cohorts, set about the poor boy once they'd crashed to the dirt in a tangle of limbs, leather and liquor. Insulted on several levels, though not as much as poor Ahmduer, the filly was beaten to the punch by just about everyone else around her it seemed save Brie.

"The bloody nerve!" Growled the woman as a shoed hoof pawed at the floor in agitation, accompanied with severe swishes of her short tail. "I hope they get a good kicking themselves... "

And it seemed as though they were. Aza gave the main culprit a sound reprimand and enough voltage to put his lights out somewhat severely; hopefully he'd come too enough to be questioned and punished for this. The same couldn't perhaps be said of one of the others as another candidate all but launched themself at one yob to tackle him to the dirt and proceed to pound into him viciously. The air was charged with static, singed flesh and who knows what as she had to be hauled off of what remained of the person only to take a swing and connect. Dan winced. Hopefully the woman wouldn't be scolded too severely for her actions... which were somewhat understandable, even if she had no relation to the prince at all. In fact there was a little flicker of admiration for someone so intent on standing up for a stranger to them, a skill the small filly was sorely lacking.

Minerva
Tag: Those Around the Prince, Brie, Dilly

She looked to Eidolon and did her best not to huff steam in frustration. This was how you got revenge, it was how one enacted their anger and frustration when someone from their herd was attacked. Still the aura took the desire to fight out of Minerva and she stamped her foot once before turning to the Prince and his sister. She bowed her head respectfully to the two and turned to depart. She wasn't in need of healing so she found now reason to stay there for now. Minerva wasn't good at comforting people and the Prince had his sister there. She felt she would just get in the way at this point so she began to try and make her way back to her small group of friends where she could hopefully get back to eating and enjoying herself at this party. This transgression was not something the large shire would forget anytime soon though. She half wondered if all humans were this dumb when drunk, perhaps they were not truly amongst allies. Of course, the humans that came to the Prince's rescue proved this wrong. she did hope that Teagan didn't get in trouble, she was only doing what was right after all and she felt that the woman must be a valiant warrior. The men had been enemies, they deserved nothing more than to pay for their crimes in the most violent of ways.

Minerva waited a bit, just to make sure everything was in hand. After she was sure the Prince was going to be taken care of she turned and walked back to her table to sit back down. She sighed a bit and rubbed her shoulder a bit. "I wish I had my axe on me." She muttered quietly to Brie and Dilly once she was back near the two. Minerva felt naked without her families ancestral weapon, it would have come in handy tonight that's for sure! Minerva looked to her two friends "Are you two okay?" She asked curiously, it had gotten a little sketchy for a bit there and she wasn't sure how far the fight had spread.

Rhoan
Tag: Anyone, Ahm

Rhoan kept close to Ahm as those around them hustled and bustled. Removing the saddle was hard, and probably stressful on the prince. Completely unable to move or mount herself onto her Dragonhound (who was still keeping one of the boys suspended by his pants) she stayed on the ground. Some princess she was. "They're taking off the saddle, but don't worry. We'll get everything off." She could tell his hearts were racing, so she grabbed his hand and held it. It was a willing invitation for Ahm to squeeze the ever loving daylights out of it, should he need to as they removed the saddle and everything else. "They're getting everything off." Mentioning it again helped reassure herself, too.

She turned to watch as they dug around him, and worked off the saddle from his lower half. She noticed rope burns in all the places, and her heart sank as her temper flared once more. Gritting her teeth, she felt the same anger that had made her stand up to Vicarious when he was torturing Synivox with the dragonhounds. "This is not your fight, little one. You are here on peace. The candidates will settle it out themselves." Ruya urged her, and Rhoan sighed, squeezing Ahm's hand. "I will say, you sure do know how to make an entrance..." She joked. It was joking that helped them bond. When the group made it to the crystal city (or at least, where it was to be built) she was part of the team that helped cohabitate with the centaur. And, of course, ask silly questions to eachother. Well... that was mainly Ahm and Rhoan at least.

She knew no one around them to thank, so she just kept to herself for once, supporting Ahmduer and watching the hustle and bustle. Some of his hair was in his face, so Rhoan moved it out of the way. "All these people are here helping you. And back home you thought you weren't going to make any friends. I think you've made quite a few. People were up in arms about this. You've got a lot of support here. Don't let these dumb faces ruin it."

Shockingly Shocking

Averon
Moving in the opposite direction of the brawl, unlike most.

Averon was somewhat used to seeing rather crazy opening ceremonies, especially the last one, but it was entirely different to be present at one. At least, comparatively it was rather tame. The Tragendire were a nice surprise for some, or perhaps nightmare, but it didn't really effect him... At least at the moment, though it occurred to him that his room mate might end up acquiring one which could be awkward... For... Reasons.

He had grabbed some food as he wandered closer to get a look at the creatures, whom while appeared rather bear like, often resented being called as such... Unless they were saying it about themselves. They were almost as finicky as people, he guessed, though they tended to be more predictable. One thing that was predictable, for instance, was that he should finish or ditch his food before one of them bowled him over or something. He was headed to a table to set it down when the fights broke out, people were yelling about a prince, and everyone was at arms... In the midst of it the would-be magician entirely vanished, his plate clattered to the floor as a dwarf dragon darted a little ways away and landed in a now somewhat clear area nearer to the beasts.

...Or at least it seemed to go into a landing, but instead Averon landed on his feet there instead, his cloak billowing out a bit as he brushed himself off and looked back to watch the fight. He wasn't a coward, and while often looked stoic and calm was easy to startle when lost in thought... At times anyways. There was also the fact that he was of the opinion it was best not to get in between trained body guards and such with weapons, and the person they appeared to have failed to guard recently.

"Well, no one has died yet. I guess that's better than the last time." he rubbed his neck, and realized the glow stick had slid down during his small... Flight. He decided he didn't really care and left the looped thing there. His comment about no one dying might have been premature, gauging by how ruthless some of the candidates were acting in the 'defense' of whoever that centaur was. He realized he wasn't... Really talking to any one in particular, while at the same time realizing he was closer to the Tragendire than he had intended to be. He somewhat confidently brushed a hand across his short bangs and began to casually walk... away ish.

Prince Ahmduer to all involved

As soon as the young Mustang prince had fallen, the wind knocked from his lungs, his weight upon the too tight saddle making it feel even tighter. He was vaguely aware of things going on around him, like the world had erupted into chaos. All he was really aware of was the burning pain in his chest and front legs- He was sure some bone or another was snapped, and the sting of rope burns and strap burns only served to remind him of exactly where all they had been. He was aware of his sister and uncle rushing to his aid, as well as his friends, new and old- And just about everyone, even non centaurs, people he didn't know. His eyes opened and focused on Rhoan's face, his gaze distant and vision blurry. He couldn't breathe, inhaling air was a struggle now that the straps had tightened. Fading vision turned his gaze to his sister as he tried to get words out, his hands gesturing at the straps before he practically collapsed again, hind hooves weakly shaking and jittering in faint kicks which, if anyone had ever seen anything suffocating before, would hint that out.

He was only faintly aware as his vision spun, his senses struggling to make heads or tails of the fighting going on around him, people digging, people talking to him. His ears slanted and folded, muscles twitching wherever he was touched out of reflex. And then, suddenly, the tightness was gone, in one fell swoop. It took him a moment to register this as he breathed in the deepest breath in his life, coughing and hacking, form trembling. He felt the burning in his chest quake, it was a feeling he was used to, but the broken stinging of his front legs had seemingly vanished, he slowly tested them where he lay, flexing them gently. He was confused, only vaguely remembering something he thought was a hallucination- Was there really a unicorn here? He didn't think any had come here with the centaurs from the new city,...

The weight of everything that had just happened seemed to come crashing down upon the Prince all at once, his sand covered hands covering his face as he cried, legs and tail tucking under himself. Hot tears of shame, indignation, of hurt and fear overcame him as he shook with sobs. There was within a healthy dose of embarrassment, had anyone seen...? Someone had to have, the ropes had all been taken away. He didn't want to know, really. He managed to look around him, seeing his people and those he didn't even know fighting for him, some of those bad people were hurt...or dead. He'd kicked one who wasn't here,...And there was another one who wasn't here either, the one who'd started the whole mess.

This place was supposed to be safe! The people were supposed to be nice. He'd thought he could trust the other candidates but they'd...done so much to him he couldn't even process everything. The drastic violation had sent the little prince into a practical fit. From where he lay in the sad, his legs tucked under himself, he turned his upper body and threw his arms arounf the closest person without really looking, in this case it was Rhoan, sobbing into the small girl's shoulder like a broken man. It was unlikely that he'd meant to pick her over his sister who was just as close by, and in the state he was in, he could have easily picked any of the people he even somewhat recognized. He really was too worked up, if he didn’t' calm himself soon he was at risk for endangering his hearts even more.

“I didn't mean to get into trouble,...” He spoke between sobs, “I did...Didn't know they were bad! I Didn'...t...Didn't know they were going to do all those thigns to me....Why did they do that? Why,....” he croaked out his words, before managing a quieter, shocked realization almost whisered from him, “I...I hurt someone,...They didn't get up,....Oh,....Oh I'm in trouble....I don't wanna go to people prison! They're gonna kick me out,....”

Idazon to Teagan
The Ambassador, leader of the current Centaur group in Aesulla, Idazon, had not had any issue with the human, Teagan, swinging astride. He had momentarily thought of commenting, 'I imagined our first ride differently', but now was not the time for such quips. Instead he charged forward, his molten hoofprints melting the sand beneath him in swaths of glass, smooth and rippling, sometimes forming out of waves of sand kicked up. His neice was faster than he was, younger and of lightnign blood, But there was little he could do- or wanted to do- to stop her from frying the man who was riding his nephew. Instead, since it looked like she was caring for Ahmduer, he didn't slow and ran headlong into the group that had just thrown themselves from their mistreated horses, Teagan herself vaulting off of him to attack.... THAT CREEP .

He almost wished he could have stomped on the man himself, but the human he was quite fond of was doing a well enough job. Instead, rather than kicking any of the delinquents, he shoved them down with his own body, as kicking them with lava hot hooves sharp as obsidian could kill them. Hopefully his shoes were as element proof as he'd been told. He had selected the lava kind, so here was hoping they lasted, not that he'd object to Teagan putting in a new pair if he needed them. He heard a crack and reared back as he turned, spotting none other than the firey girl having just decked...the Wyrmling Assistant...ah shit. Had she meant to do that? He was unsure but trotted back over. He knew it was unwise to tell her to calm down, but the man she had clearly been beating prior looked to have been near dead and there was little point left in her doing that any more.

He could see that she was indeed on fire, and while it was interesting, he didn't think it was a good thing. He raised his hands, and willed his own elements of heat to draw her own down and snuff the flames out, leaving burn marks where once fire had been. “This man is thourally beatan, if any more harm comes to him my people won't have much to punish. Your rage is justified, but we need to keep them alive so justice may be served...Though you know I agree, stomping their heads in does sound fitting...” He moved to look at her hand but didn't touch her, realizing it was broken. He was just as shocked to see a unicorn there, having healed the burnt man and was now offering to heal Teagan as well. He couldn't answer for her but hoped she might calm herself a little. “The decision to accept healing is yours,” He spoke as calmly as he could with his suave tone, “But I highly recommend you so allow it. A unicorn's healing power could save the use of your hand, such an injury could put you out of candidacy for many weeks or months with normal recovery times,...” He advised, knowing that not only was there physical training, someone with such an obvious injury might have needed to even stand down from the candidacy, or at least, miss a lot of lessons.

Movement caught his eye, a dark red horse with a lighter white mane being ridden by a man who looked to be an elf of all things, riding straight towards them- He had seen his group struck down by man, elf, and man-beast as he thought of them. Perhaps this particular elf was a half-born, or else, had not had the greatest of upbringing. Few pure elves had such a terrible streak in them but it wasn't unheard of, afterall. He frowned, seeing one of his best friends on the ground infront of the had been searing flaming woman. She had done this to him! She had no right! He aimed his steed and lifted something from his side, and pointed it at the candidate, the glimmer of metal shining off the muzzle of the weapon....

Time seemed to slow down as everything happening all at once had taken a more serious detour. Unlike the others, this one wasn't drunk, and was clearly the ringleader. Perhaps questions shot through peoples minds- Where had he come from? Why did he have a gun? How did he have one here anyway? But the fact that he was aiming had many candidates that had come to help diving or running to get out of the way. But a bullet is faster than most people, and the accuracy of the one holding the weapon had an elves eye. It was happening too fast...

The obsidian black Centaur didn't have the luxury of thinking. All he could do was act. The sound of the shot going off, the smoke floating away as the bullet shot from the muzzle, spinning its way straight for Teagan. Perhaps he had targeted her because she'd practically if not actually had murdered his best friend, or perhaps it was random. Whatever the case was, the elf wanted her dead.

Fate has a strange way of working, however, and perhaps today the Celestial chose not to claim that firey soul. Or maybe it was luck that the dark Centaur was just a little faster than the Elf anticipated. He hadn't missed, not entirely, as the Centaur moved and pulled Teagan away from the direct line of fire, the bullet had indeed skidded and cut her cheek, tore through some of her hair, and clipped her ear, cutting it part way before it buried itself in the Centaur's upper arm, missing bone but lodging itself in the muscle there. The elf was clearly upset and aimed a second shot, this time his target was the young Centaur, and likely the human girl he was holding close...

The air above the horse and elf looked odd, a rippling shimmered before a glowing cut erupted. What followed was more shocking than the man who brought a gun to a fist fight. A tragendire, with glowing eyes and glowing talons, rippling with visions of deep space, leaping out of the air, out of a literal tear in spacial dimension, landing on the man and knocking him from the horse, her gravity crushing him. The gun went off a second, final time, but this was no well aimed thing, if it had hit anyone he didn't know and at the moment, he had other things to worry about as the Tragendire tore at him with her talons before leaping off, opening her jaws, and...well, nothing overly obvious came out, but the shimmer around the Elf suggested a lack of air around him, a sudden vacuum like space. Within seconds, much as it would if someone fell out of a space craft in orbit, the Elf met a gruesome fate.

Anyone whom had actually been watching something other than the fight may have seen the streak of the dark Tragendire as she pelted across the sand at breakneck speed, before she leaped up, and as she landed, vanished entirely into a spacial cut, which sealed behind her, only for her to appear moments later above the man. Quick on her heels, but incapable of making such doors was a shimmering male, his coat like the deepest oceans, patterned with sunlight, following close behind her. For a kit, he was massive, biggest of the lot for sure. As he saw his sibling get to the quarry first, he slowed down and panted, before looking to the people standing about.

A much smaller, but not the smallest female Tragendire came padding up behind the other two, her shorter limbs making her a little less quick but no less determined to get to where they were. All of them had responded to the sudden danger of their future bondeds, none wishing to lose what was theirs...

Elsewhere

She had ended this creatures life, he who would have ended Hers. She bared her fangs. If he had not had a weapon she might have considered letting him live a few minutes longer, if only to feel the pain he had caused hers. Only when she was satisfied that he was dead did she pause and look up, watching the people around her who were justifiably wary of this creature. Like her slightly slower brother, she was large- The two were clearly Polaris' own blood, the starry colored one somewhat shorter than the watery one. The Space Tragendire stood there, panting, having used a bit more elemental force than she probably should have, but had to seal the final door, which she did, before turning to look at the group again. She was impressive, her fangs were long and sharp, her mane was a flowing mass, waves like nebula, all down her back and tail. Her talons and eyes and inner mouth glowed like the fury of a star deep within. She slowly padded through to to the center of the comotion, sitting down in the sand next to the Prince mustang, slowly nuzzling his shoulder as he wept in his friend's arms. Quietly reasurring him with her own presence and strength of mind. -My Ahmduer, have courage now. I am here, and I will always walk at your side. I will protect you forever. Your Callisto will never let this happen again!-

Satisfied that his sister had chosen well, the large male chuffed and paused, looking for His. She was here, surely, he just had to find her in the mass of people. Unlike other Tragendire, he was physically a bit different. Not only was his coat constantly moving like the sea, the images within to, mirrored ocean waves or deep seas. His mane was short but wavy, his long fluffy tail tapered at the bottom and flowed like a waterfall, his coat was silky and his fangs and talons long. But upon each of his legs was something like otter-fur covered fins of sorts, with draping fur off the tips. Such were not known to exist in Tragendire before him, and would likely be passed down if ever he bred. He was a proud specimen, calm and serene, moving like he was one with the current of life. He was beautiful- Not quite a titan, but still very big. If his growth proved true, based on his young height, he would surely be nearly titan sized. He moved with grace and serenity toward his own, and paused before her. She had been among those trying to help dig the straps of the saddle out from under the Prince, and though she and the others had not realized there were straps on the top as well, he did not mind. She was brave and that was all he cared about. He snuffled at her and sat, nuzzling her arm and side, making sure she was okay before he introduced himself. -Brave Anviel, I am here. Your courage is admirable to this, your Genzai, the current brought me to you. What say you, shall we see if anyone else needs help before we get something to eat?-

Perhaps she wasn't as fast as the others, it didn't matter, This was an adventure! It wasn't exactly the best kind, but it was still a venture and she was on it and toddling along as fast as she could. She didn't think herself as impressive as the other two speeding away infront of her, but that was okay. She was going her own pace, and they had taken down the danger well before she had arrived, though she was still ready to maul anyone who would even think about hurting her bond. In the bright light that came on as main power was returned, there were gasps heard around her as she looked for hers. She was deep red, gradiented to lighter tones like wine and pink, which faded to gold here and there. Her sides had gold and orange streaks, but the most shocking thing about her, besides her extraordinarily short mane and tail..Was that her skeleton was visible through her skin in many places. Her muscle and organs remained strangely, and probably magically not visible, but it was predominantly her skull and legs that were visible, and it looked scary despite her otherwise adorable nature. She snuffled around, and the more nervous candidates backed away, perhaps thinking her a Death.

Whatever their reasons, she could care less, and soon enough was brought before a young man who was desperatly trying to save his friend. With the danger mostly over now, she nosed at his back. -My Nox, I have come to help! Your Merlot is here. What would you have me do? I will protect you and your friends!-

Somewhere in the shadows, something looked on. Why was it here? Perhaps to see if it could acomplish a specific task. The chaos that ensued with the Centaur had not been planned for, but indeed, it would prove a distraction for its own presence. Its task had been accomplished with much better results than anticipated anyway...but alas, it was not best to stick around. And with that, whatever it was, was gone.

Mistoffelees to Lysander

The sleek Celestial paused to wonder, looking back at all the commotion going on. Everything had happened so quickly, it was hard to keep track of it all. But it was not entirely all the black dragon was sensing. He was distracted, something else was here, a presence. He could feel it, but could not see or pinpoint it. He had to tell Ygg and Alistiana as soon as possible. He turned again and quietly moved. “It looks as if others have gotten there far sooner than I could, aid is on the way. We should get you settled in a room, though, I sense something not at all good lingering where it ought not be. I cannot detect what it is, though.” Up to no good, clearly. And, as if to mock him, whatever it was, was gone just as fast. Hmph. Odd.

Anviel let the centaur and her tragendire do most of the digging closer to the prince- she was unsure of how the centaur would react to a strange elf so close to him after all that had happened to him. Still, room needed to be made so that somebody could remove the prince's saddle, so she was not entirely useless.

Taking a moment to glance around, she was surprised by the amount of people that had rushed to the aid of the prince. It wasn't particularly out of the blue- she, after all, was a complete stranger that had just so happened to stop by and help. It was just breathtaking to watch centaurs, elves, and humans alike unite to free the prince and beat the shit out of his attackers. According to what she heard, there was even a unicorn, offering her healing. It wouldn't be particularly shocking if the Celestial herself descended upon the sands to aid the prince.

As Anviel returned to digging, she noticed another elf was helping too- but he wasn't digging. Apparently he knew how to undo the saddle, which was quite a relief. She gave him and his tragendire an even wider berth. The movement of the centaur's sides was concerning at best, and briefly the elf wished that she knew more about horses- then maybe she'd know more about what to do. It felt awful to be so powerless to help, even if she didn't know the centaur.

Perhaps that was why becoming a dragonrider was so appealing to so many people. Who could ever feel powerless while bonded to such a creature?

There was the sound of more hooves, which itself was not all that remarkable, considering that there were many centaurs in the area. However, the hoofbeats were not consistent with a centaur walking nearby, and it was not likely that any centaurs would be late to assist the prince at that point. Anviel raised her head to see what was going on, and gasped audibly. She was frozen to that one spot in the sand as the elf, atop a horse, raised a gun and aimed it at a human girl, only for a dark-pelted centaur to pull her away.

He aimed another shot, this time towards the prince- closer to where Anviel was. Just as she was beginning to regain her composure, a sudden revelation came across her, chilling her to the bone. If the elf missed, there was a very good chance that Anviel could end up with the bullet instead of the centaur. She didn't want anybody to get hurt, but it was so much more frightening to realize that she could be staring her death in the face than it was to realize that somebody else could die. Of course, her death was not as likely as Ahmduer's, not by a landslide, but it was still all too possible.

Something was wrong with the air above the horse and the elf, too. Briefly, Anviel wondered whether the Celestial herself had decided to strike down the man that had caused so much chaos. However, what emerged was not the Celestial, but a Tragendire with glowing talons and eyes. It knocked the man from his horse and began tearing into him. The gun fired one more time, the sound causing Anviel to flinch. The tragendire jumped off the elf, opened its mouth, and in seconds, he was dead. Just like that.

It was hard to process what had happened, and Anviel watched as the tragendire walked over to the prince. He must be the one that it had chosen to bond to. She made a note to herself to never mess with a tragendire's bonded.

Regardless of the tragendire's good timing, Anviel was somewhat distraught about the turn of events. Hadn't Terminus said that the candidates would be safe? "We will protect you, at all costs." It wasn't the fault of Aesulla nor it's Titan, but it was still so... Disconcerting. Even that was an understatement. It was only the opening ceremonies, and while the events that had transpired were nothing compared to what had happened at the Nondir, things had still gone terribly wrong. So terribly wrong. Yet, she knew this could happen. She had had a feeling that it would happen. This was what she signed up for, a a dragon rider.

Perhaps she was right to be nervous.

Something nuzzled her arm and side, causing her to flinch before looking at it. It was a tragendire, except it just so happen to look like a living, fluffy fish tank. -Brave Anviel, I am here. Your courage is admirable to this, your Genzai, the current brought me to you. What say you, shall we see if anyone else needs help before we get something to eat?-

Your Genzai. The thought echoed in her head for a moment as she processed what he had said. Her mind felt so open, somehow, or perhaps it was just her imagination. The only thing that she could think to say was, "Uhm... Hi, Genzai."

So this is what it feels like to bond. That thought crossed her mind suddenly as she thought up a response to what Genzai had said. He had called her brave. That was perhaps the last word that Anviel would pick to describe herself, but she wasn't going to disagree. She'd trust his judgement- if he said she was brave, she was brave. That was it. It was totally normal to feel so upset after something so awful had happened. A teacher of hers had liked to once say that courage was doing things in spite of fear. After something so awful had happened at the opening ceremonies, who could blame anybody for being uneasy about candidacy?

"I wonder what happened to that second bullet..." Anviel murmured. She hoped that it had just fallen to the ground without hitting anybody, but then again, she had also hoped that the opening ceremonies, at least, would go smoothly too. It was best to check. "Let's see if anybody needs us, Genzai."

Maksim and Mesikämmen
Tagged: Everyone

The saddle was off, and Maksim breathed a sigh of relief. He was no doctor, but it didn't look as though the centaur was any worse for wear. He sat back on his heels, one arm draped over his Tragendire's neck. Mesikämmen turned his head to nudge his bonded slightly in the shoulder, before he too dropped down onto his hindquarters. It had been a rather exciting day for the pair of them, and Maksim felt suddenly (and quite utterly) exhausted.

You did well. Have you taken a lot of saddles off of centaurs before? Mesikämmen asked, and Maksim had to give a little laugh as he wiped one dusty hand across his forehead, streaking dirt as he did so. "No," He snorted. "I've never taken a saddle off of anything, ever. But I've seen how it's done." And now that it was finished, he wanted to get up and leave. Watching the prince roll onto his knees and weep was difficult. Maksim felt for him, but the combination of being helpless and the slight discomfort of watching someone cry was working hell on his nerves. His legs felt shaky, and he wasn't sure he could stand. "It's alright," He offered, somewhat awkwardly. "I don't think anyone's blaming you for what happened. You didn't do it to yourself, right? Besides, you--" He was cut short by the sound of hoofbeats, and then a chorus of screams. He was still kneeling, frozen in shock, when the mounted elf's gun fired for the first time.

He could remember watching the Hatching where Zemal had been stabbed. Of course, he hadn't known that it was Zemal then, and he hadn't known that he died, but knowing those two things now made him freeze. His mind erupted with questions: Where was Zemal? Was he safe? Was this another assassin? He opened his mouth to call out a warning, echoed by Mesikämmen's growl, when something large erupted into the space in front of the horseman. His firearm went off a second time, and whatever Maksim had to say came out in a startled and pained choke.

He could feel his ears ringing, and white spots flashed behind his eyes at the shock of the bullet. He took a deep breath; He didn't feel the bullet until his back hit the ground. It raged through his body like a ball of concentrated fire, and he cried out, hands grasping instinctively over where the bullet had lodged itself in his gut. Mesikämmen roared as well as he was able, torn between launching himself at the rider and staying near Maksim's side. How dare you! How dare you! Fight me! The tragendire challenged to no avail. His sister had already taken care of him, and as courteous as Mesikämmen was, the kit was not sad to see him go. The responsibility of tearing the man into shreds lifted from his capable shoulders, the tragendire hunkered down beside where Maksim lay, gasping. It's going to be alright, Maksim. You did well. I'm going to get help. And then, broadcasted so everyone could hear: Maksim has been hurt! We need help!

Brother Lysander

Lysander watched with muted horror at the spectacle which unfolded before them. What began as genuine relief that the poor centaur boy had been helped turned quickly into panic. There were gunshots, and Lysander had never heard them in real life before. His life had always been one of relative luxury and safety. After all, who would want to hurt him? Somehow, guns sounded much louder in leave life than in a movie, or on television. His first instinct was to cover his ears as his eyes widened. The sight of the space tragendire taking care of the would-be assassin was enough to make him go green. What Lysander meant to suggest was that he could help, that he had some medical knowledge and might be of assistance until a real doctor could be on hand.

What he did instead was projectile vomit over the railing.

He'd never seen someone so gruesome in his entire life, and the sight of it did more than leave him a little green at the gills. He was practically reeling, and he could feel a tell-tale numbness beginning in his legs, a certain haziness crawling into his thoughts and vision. "Someone ought to--" He panted, holding on tighter to the rail to keep him from toppling over. "--Help." Oh, he was going to pass out. He felt nauseous, and something warm was running down from his nose. He should have laid down hours earlier.

"I need to sit down," He breathed more to himself than anyone else. "I need to sit down, and then I can help." Or, so he hoped. To be honest, he was feeling quite queasy, and Lysander wasn't even sure he'd be able to rise without assistance. What had begun as an exciting event had quickly spoiled into something far less enjoyable. And an odd, prickling sensation along the nape of his neck only warned him that there was something... off. But the assassin had been subdued, and the centaur prince had been put to rights. Surely, things could only improve from this juncture.

ooc / IC note:

It can be assumed that healers, as well as security have arrived at the scene! The titans are not idle at this time and have called for aid. People are free to play npc's for law enforcement and assistants. It should be noted that most of the gang are alive but beaten pretty bad. There are a couple casualties, and candidates may be questioned by security to find out what happened. Cameras likely picked up the fight, so it is clear who started what. Given the subject, it is unlikely too many candidates will be in trouble for helping, but a few may receive warnings for the severity of their defense of the prince.

At this time, relations between the Centaur and non centaur may be a little tense, but even the centaur are wise enough to know that the incident was an individual group that likely does not represent everyone, however they are certainly more wary and likely take insult in suggestions for rides etc.

Happy RP'ing!-Sen~

Selina had been swept up in the brawl, she hadn’t reacted fast enough to help out the centaur and by the time she pushed her way through the crowd that incident was solved. She surveyed the carnage with a bit of a frown. The guy Teagan worked over was a mess, there was no way he was coming out of that without losing something, perhaps an eye or most if not all of his teeth. She had never seen someone so hell bent on beating someone to a pulp before...not to mention the fire. She knew Teagan was a hot head but clearly this was not what Selina had expected from the Fire Bug. She was returning to her seat as more of the strange Tragendire’s showed up and made their presence known to those they chose to bond with. It was a little heartwarming in truth, kinda made her miss her own dog who was no doubt snoring up a storm in her room...or hiding under the bed from the real storm. Either was a distinct possibility.

Selina weaved her way through the crowd with mumbled excuse me’s and pardon me’s as she tried to get somewhere she could breath without being swamped by tons of people. Security was on the scene now and any further action would be seen as going overboard...or even further overboard. Selina figured things might quiet down and she could get back to enjoying the evening. Selina was wrong, horribly horribly wrong. The gun shot took her off guard, it wasn’t like she had never heard someone shoot a gun before, it was just that in this building was the last place she would expect one. They had security after all, why didn’t they catch a guy with a gun on a horse? She didn’t think they were that inept, all in all it was making everyone hosting the event look really bad.

Selina had thought to go and pull the guy off the horse, if she was quick enough maybe she could get there before he fired again. He didn’t hit his target as far as Selina could tell, the bullet hit the Centaur, Idazon she believed was his name. Selina was going to try and get to the man when the Tragendire showed up and took the man out, it was much quicker than she could ever be. “Fuck…” She muttered and covered her mouth at the sight, she felt her stomach turn but was able to keep her dinner down for now.

He struggled to try and lift Ahmduer after he called for some help to move his roommate. Even as small as Ahm is the mustang centaur still far out weighed most everyone else that wasn't one of his kin. Thank the celestial Nox wasn't the only one with the idea to get the saddle off. One of the centaurs was apparently an earth elemental and he quickly ducked out of the way after her shout to move. "Woah!" He breathed out in shock. The earth itself answered her call and it never ceased to amaze the elf of the command centaurs had over their element. Apparently the smaller they are the more powerful they are it seemed. The elf made a small mental not to never piss her off if they meet again. Which maybe likely since she was wearing candidate whites.

Once Ahmdeur's body was lifted enough to reach the straps Nox scooted back some more on the sand, nearly tripping over the little sand and earth colored tragendire that was digging right under his friend. "Sorry! Sorry!" He stumbled out of the way and watched as someone who seemed to know more about horses and saddles expertly removed the saddle. Of course there was the, not so little up close, solar tragendire right beside his bonded. The elf never thought he would get so up close and personal with the little beasts in this sort of situation of all things. Its too bad he doesn't have a chance to appreciate that since it looked as if Ahm was still hyperventilating.

Before he can find his voice again a glorious being approached the chaos. Nox can feel the wave of calm washed over him and perhaps...Things will be ok after all. It took him a moment to realize that it was all the Unicorn's dealing. He watched in wonder as she approached the prince and lowered her horn to heal him. "Wow...Ahm you're going to be alright." He cautiously approached again getting on his knees right by a little girl...Rhoan. That was her name. Ahm mentioned her several times as a friend. Nox bobbed his head in agreement when she spoke. It hurt to see his friend crumpled over and sobbing. All the elf could think to himself was how in the hell could something like this happen. He spoke gently while his hands showed his true emotions with forceful movements. "Ahm its ok, She's right. And no one is going to put you in people prison for defending yourself. If anything they will be going to prison."

Nox is so glad he's learned how to at least speak softly so he sounded someone what soothing. Of course the peace can't last as the resounding crack of a bullet being fired off startled him. In the blink of an eye another centaur is shot, and he watched in horror as the gunman turned his gun to Ahm and Rhoan. Before Nox can get to his feet another tragendire falls right over the man and took care of him with swift unrelenting justice. The elf looked away, that was was too much. "Some rider I will make..I can't even look the enemy in the eye." He did not have a chance to dwell on those thoughts for long. Something nudged his back and tickled the back of his mind.

-My Nox, I have come to help! Your Merlot is here. What would you have me do? I will protect you and your friends!-
He has already suffered one shock to many to jump this time. The elf can sense something new in his head space and it was a pleasant warmth. It all came from this little sweet creature and Nox welcomed it. "Hi there." He barely articulated verbally, the elf can feel her concern at his and his friend's wellbeing. "Its ok, we're going to be ok I think. You are a brave little one aren't you?" Amusement and a touch of hunger filtered through the fledgling bond from the little wine colored beast. -You needed help and now I am here.- She wiggled forward to crawl right onto Nox's lap as if she always belonged there, uncaring of anyone else and their thoughts on her appearance.

Reacting to current situation, getting his ass chewed out by his superiors, and going to look into the security breach

The arrival of the Tragendires was more or less, a happy occasion. The bondings were proceeding, despite the earlier flicker of power and the minor disruption. But that was the least of their problems. When the centaur prince came rushing in through the rear stable entrances, kicking, shouting, panicking, a person mounted on his back. More or less, all hell broke loose. Shouting their war cries, the centaur tribes took up arms and rushed out to meet their prince and his tormenter, even the smallest of them galloping as fast as their legs could carry. What surprised Reid the most however, was the bevy of humans that seemed to take up arms and rush along with them. He wasn’t armed heavily, but working as part time security as they needed him tonight, he was equipped with a taser amongst other things. So that would help if push came to shove.

Marcus seemed to have things…mostly under control however. As well as one of the Centaurs. Instead of a weapon being necessary against the troublemaker, one of the candidates had taken her ire powers to a new height and began punching the ne’er-do-well senseless. Reid was certain he could sense a lawsuit, but one that the man would lose, thanks to his assault on the centaur royalty. Tragendires were rushing across the sand to help their bondeds, but there seemed to be little they could do when another made their way onto the sands.

Galloping forth on a charging steed, the individual was armed with a gun, and managed to get off a shot before Reid had even managed to realize what had happened. It missed it’s target only partially, striking through flesh of one centaur and skimming the face of the girl who had beaten the younger individual that had assaulted the centaur. But as a second shot rang off, more Tragendires appeared, and they appeared with a vengeance. Reid watched, swallowing heavily, as the new intruder was ripped apart. By that time, security was starting to show up, others better armed, and better trained than he for the job. He put the taser away, back at his hip, and at about that time, he felt a heavy hand land on his shoulder.

Turning to look, he found himself eye to angry glare with another individual part of the main security team. A man he recognized as having assigned him to these duties earlier tonight. Oh hell… Reid winced only marginally. The man seemed to take this as a clear sign to start waylaying him.

“What the hell happened here?” he asked him with a growl. “We have a royal who has been assaulted, a bunch of drunk, uninvited men causing trouble, and now we have an armed intruder who was murdered by a kit because you couldn’t do your job correctly. We had another assistant already here keeping an eye on things. Clearly you should have been out on patrol, or this wouldn’t have happened!” He barked. Reid cringed just a bit, turning his head away. “We already had our royal guards in place, several titans, and other assistants.” He pushed him roughly towards the exit. “Now go do your job, and look into how the hell this happened in the first place.” With that sound verbal thrashing completed, the head of the security troop went back to join the rest of his comrades in securing the hatching sands.

Pride stinging, Reid watched him go. Biting heavily on his tongue to keep himself from saying anything, he stood there planted for a moment, gathering himself and his composure to keep from barking something angrily back. He could hear the soft whir of gears and servos as his mechanical limb clenched and unclenched with his own strain and dissatisfaction. Finally, a long slow breath was released from his nose and he turned and walked out the nearest side tunnel, heading to check on the security tapes. The fact that someone had gotten into the Aesullan grounds uninvited and armed was something of an oxymoron. It shouldn’t have happened. Couldn’t have happened. Something had gone wrong, and it would have to be looked into.

Comforting the prince Ahmduer was harder than she expected. However, her weak-hearted best friend was a bit on the frazzled side to say it lightly. His arms had wrapped around her, and he was weeping into her shoulder with heavy, heaving sobs. Her arms wrapped around him and she petted his hair while he cried. She pressed her cheek to his and allowed him to speak and shake. Things were still happening around them, but Rhoan dared not move from comforting Ahm. Sudden movements would scare him even moreso. "Oh Ahm, they're not going to take you to any prison. You were just defending yourself. If they take you to prison, then a bunch of us are going too. I beat up one guy, Zulra bit another, and then I threw my leg at one of them and knocked them out." Rhoan smiled, thinking he'd get a 'kick' out of that.

"Aww, I thought you'd get a kick out of that." Jokes and playing around were how she and Ahm had really connected. Both were young royalty now (gosh that was still so weird) but that didn't stop them from playing around and asking eachother silly questions about humans and centaurs. "If those jokes didn't make you laugh then I guess i'm stumped." She snickered, wiggling her stump. Thank goodness she'd lost it, or she wouldn't be here in the first place. A strange thing to say indeed. "Besides. You wouldn't fit in people jail. That means you're off scotch free." Her hand ran through his hair until a gunshot rang out.

Rui immediately shifted into his dragon form, using his body as somewhat of a shield around the young prince and his sister, Nox, and those immediately surrounding Ahm. Silently Rui watched the commotion, and then snarled when the gun was pointed towards Ahm and Rhoan. Thankfully, the Tragendire arrived just in time. Rui didn't have time to send the thoughts to Rhoan, so she merely held Ahm. She didn't jump, but she was sure Ahm probably would. She squeezed him tighter and placed her hand at the back of his head to make sure he didn't jerk up and run. The sound of the gunshot was followed by more noise, what was possibly another shot, and the sound of ripping flesh. Rhoan was familiar with the smell and sounds of such wounds. Thankfully her's had been cauterized.

"Guess your first evening here has been a bit eventful, huh? I'm so sorry, Ahm." Peeking over Ahm's shoulder, she saw a Tragendire begin to approach. She absolutely took Rhoan's breath away, and her heartbeat increased. Was this Tragendire coming for Ahm? Was he going to get a bonded friend? "Ahm, listen to me. A large bear creature is coming towards you. She's friendly, I promise. Remember Zulra? My dragonhound? She's friendly, just like the Tragendire. She protected you too. She's coming to nuzzle you, okay? I've got you right here." If she didn't warn the young prince, he'd probably bolt and wouldn't be seen for days. That wasn't an exaggeration. As the Tragendire nuzzled him, Rhoan mouthed a 'thank you' to her before bowing her head to her. Zulra dropped the boy she'd held suspended with an unceremonious plop before sitting down, rather pleased with herself.

Tag: Reid

Well, it was safe to say that it had been a bit more eventful than Justin had liked. Sure, he was getting some fantastic pictures and what-not, but if this was how every day at training was going to be, Justin was sure he wanted to be here. The Tragendires were a fascinating sight. He was glad none of them wandered towards him though. He had a hard enough time socializing with people. If he bonded to a tragendire, or even a dragon, it'd probably get depressed quickly from the lack of social stimulation. The only thing Justin didn't ignore was his camera. And, luckily for Reid and the local enforcement, it would probably be useful, especially after the shenanigans that had happened with the Centaur prince.

"Uh... excuse me... I saw you get chewed out. I got, some uh, pictures from the fight. Maybe it'll help. it's a fast shutter, so you can see the action like a video." Sheepishly, Justin handed Reid his camera so he could flip through them. Already mentally exhausted from the interaction, Justin shoved his hands into the pockets of his Candidate uniform, and waited to hear back from Reid. He felt bad about not helping, but he was already far away, and it seemed that those already there were doing fine for themselves already. The Prince was safe and breathing, and those that had been hurt were healed, right? Justin wasn't a fighter. He'd have to learn, but he wasn't one yet. Those on the sidelines (well, some of them) still had their uses.

"Um... the last few pictures are kinda interesting. You see, the hallway in some of the pictures before the shooter was empty. Looks like there weren't any guards at their posts. Probably all trying to be around Zemal or something..." Justin murmured. However, it looked as though Reid was ready to rush off somewhere, and a gruff grunt behind him made Justin turn around. Reid exited to look at security tapes, and the guard behind Justin gestured for the camera.

Leonas - Beta Guard - Second in Command
Tag: Reid (should he come back), Justin, anyone interested

"Hmph. Lemme see that." Leonas snarled, snatching up the piece of equipment to flicker through the photos. It was a hearty claim that nobody was at their post at the off-chance to guard the Prince. With all the royalty here, Zemal was probably the most popular. Well, that is, until the Centaur prince was damaged. Now everyone was going to love the Centaur and fawn over him for the next few months. However, as Leonas flipped through the photos, a snarl rose to his lips.

The progression of the boy's photos were true. The hallway was empty prior to the shooting. That meant that there really were no guards at their posts. It would make sense. Bragging rights that 'they got to protect Zemal' was too good to pass up. That completely went against everything that Leonas believed in. After all, he was in this business to protect all people. Zemal had his own few guards, as well as a few extra provided here. That didn't mean all of them. "Hmph. Guess your claims are true. When Reid gets back we'll see what the films show." He grunted. Quite a few people were about to get fired.

Marcus; tag Teagan, Eidolon

It was not entirely unexpected that she turned around and clocked him in the face. Really, it was partly his own damn fault because chances were that if you interrupted a fight you ended up involved in it to some extent. That knowledge didn't keep Marcus from being surprised by the blow, or by the way Teagan twisted in his grasp to take a shot at him. The bad angle was maybe the only thing that kept him from having a broken jaw or cracked orbital bone, but that didn't keep it from hurting like hell when Teagan's fist connected with his face.

Marcus staggered under the impact and dropped to one knee, momentarily dazed. Spots danced in front of his eyes briefly, not just from the blow but from the burn that followed. It arced out around and through his eye, making it water profusely, and down the line of his jaw. That was the worst part; not the throbbing ache from the blow itself but the burn that sizzled across his nerves, his skin turning an angry shade of red from even that brief contact, small blisters beginning to form at the epicenter of the impact.

He came back to himself with a sharp shake of his head, reflexively reaching up to touch where she hit him and immediately regretting it. Son of a bitch that hurt, burns were the fucking worst and now he had one right next to an eye that was watering so profusely from the pain that it almost looked like one half of his face was crying. Teagan didn't seem to be much better off, cradling her hand against her as if it was suddenly made of glass. Likely broken, fractured at the very least, but that tended to happen when you tried to pulp someone's face with your bare hand. At least she had stopped.

When Eidolon arrived Marcus could not help but be relieved. Her aura helped to calm the lingering aggression in those clustered around the fallen centaur Prince, and thankfully, there was not much that she could not heal. She tended to Ahmduer first before approaching the two fallen ex-candidates. As expected, the electrocuted one was beyond saving, but the one Teagan had fallen on was healed of the worst of his injuries before the unicorn turned her offer to Teagan.

"I'll take you up on that," he told Eidolon. Like hell he was going to walk around with a giant burn on his face for any longer than was absolutely necessary. She was quick enough to oblige him, the touch of her horn bringing with it an immediate rush of cool relief as the injury slowly healed. The burn faded, the blossoming bruises disappeared before they were fully formed, and at last, he was left painless. As if Teagan hadn't struck him at all.

Would that that was the last and least of his problems.

Marcus didn't see the inbound rider at first, learning of his presence only after the air was rent by startled shouting. He looked up, saw the elf pointing a gun at--him? No, Teagan, but before he was able to move Idazon was there, snatching her out of the way and taking the bullet meant for her. His view of the assailant was blocked by the centaur's body until Marcus scrambled to his feet and darted around him. He was just in time to see the air tear open above the mounted elf and another tragendire kit literally flatten the man, ending both the threat he posed and his life.

How in the ever-loving fuck had someone gotten onto the grounds with a gun?!

He is no longer a threat to any he might harm, Agrius said as he trotted up next to his bonded, the man he had restrained now being taken by security. The young kit whined when he noticed that all was not well, however, and darted over toward his Solar kin. There is one here that needs help!

Marcus blanched when he saw where Agrius was heading--toward the Lomiran Prince Zemal. Had all three princes somehow managed to become injured in this catastrophy of an opening ceremony?! Spitting curses, he bolted toward the crowd lingering near Ahmduer.

Zemal and Ramahendra; tag Maksim, Eidolon

Zemal was beyond relieved when Eidolon arrived to heal the young centaur prince. Maksim had helped quite a bit just by getting the saddle off (and had he been certain that Azarahl didn't intend to scramble his brains he might have tried it as well), but even from where he was kneeling he was able to see the abrasions on Ahmduer's body. They were easy enough to heal, but he knew that the mental and emotional scars were going to linger for much, much longer. Not to mention, and he cursed inwardly at the fact that his training was beginning to show, the political damage done...

There was a shout and the prince looked up in time to see a mounted rider skid to a halt, aiming something over at one of the other candidates. A shot rang out but that was the last thing Zemal saw before a rippling shield of Solar energy enveloped him. He wasn't sure if it was courtesy of Eidolon, Ramahendra, or both, but for several moments he was blind and deaf to anything happening beyond the bubble's rippling, pulsing walls.

When they finally faded he was left blinking spots from in front of his eyes, aware vaguely of Ramahendra landing next to him and the sight of the would-be assassin lying dead on the ground. For a moment he thought that a second crisis had been averted--and then Maksim shouted. Zemal looked to his friend and all he saw was the blood pooling out from beneath Maksim's hands where they clutched at his stomach.

Cold panic washed over him and Zemal was not aware of his own startled cry of his friend's name as he bolted on his knees over to where Maksim lay, unthinking and unconcerned that Mesikämmen might believe him a potential threat. He reached out to slide his hands beneat Maksim's, the feeling of slick, warm blood against his fingers making his heart flutter up into his throat, and quite without thinking Zemal began to heal him--and then he stopped. Froze. The bleeding slowed somewhat but what if he messed up? The bullet was still in there and what if he did not heal everything inside before closing the wound?

"Eidolon!" It was a panicked bellow as he looked over his shoulder briefly to find her, but there was no mistaking the command in his voice. She could save him, could heal Maksim, and why hadn't she protected him too? She was more than able, she and Ramahendra both. Between the pair of them why had they not sought to protect Maksim as well? The first furious sparks of anger began to well up beneath his fear but for the moment his attention was primarily on his oldest friend who was in danger of going into shock. "Hang on, Maksim, you're going to be alright. You're going to be fine, just hang on..."

Eidolon
Tag: Marcus, Zemal, Maksim

Eidolon did what she could to those injured around her, healing burns, bruises and worse. She had just healed the face of an assistant and anyone else who asked for her assistance, it seemed her calming aura was affecting most around her and calming the aggression that had risen so quickly. It was not to last as muffled hoof beats on the sand came pounding towards them, her head shot up (thankfully not impaling anyone on her horn that she was trying to heal) seeing the glint of a gun was all it took, rearing on her hind legs she spun looking toward Zemal, immediately raising a brilliant shield around the Lomirian Prince so hot that any bullet passing through it would be instantly vaporized, but to those around it no intense heat was felt. It rose just as the first gun shot was heard, a second quickly following it.

Seeing the Space Tragendire take out the shooter, eliminating the danger and though she was reluctant to due to all the danger that had happened in such a short span of time she lowered the solar shield around the Prince. Immediately her mind and ears were bombarded by yelling. A Tragendire shouting for help, a Prince ordering her name. As she turned away from the shooter she saw Maksim on the ground, blood pooling from his gut. She immediately shifted into her human for to more easily reach them, kneeling by the boy she she reached out, assessing the damage the stray bullet had caused. She need not look at Zemal to see his anger, it had been present in his voice, she could feel his tenseness radiating from his body. She had failed him, again.

As she worked on knitting muscle back together and pushing the bullet out her mind cast back to both of the boy's younger childhood. They had been inseparable and she had cared for both of them deeply, watching over the Prince but also Maksim. Seeing him again here at the Opening Ceremonies had brought her much joy, but she had failed in protecting him. Just as she had failed in protecting Zemal during the hatching a few years ago. It did not matter that he had run away from her, she had not been with him during the assassins strike at that hatching. Had it not been for the Titan of Death and the Titan of Life he would not be here right now. She had failed in the most dire manner and here she had yet again failed her Prince. Though Maksim would be fine with hardly even a scar to show for it the fact was that if the bullet had traveled just a little higher he would have died.

The bullet was finally pushed out and rolled onto the ground as Maksim's skin knitted itself back together, his blood stained clothing and discarded bullet the only physical remnants of what had happened. She stood and took a pace back to allow Zemal and Mesikämmen to be closer to Maksim, her eyes could not meet Zemal's the pain of her failure evident in them.

Teagan; Tag Marcus, Idazon, Eidolon *mentioned*

Between the blistering heat of her wayward element and the immense pain radiating from her hand, and the revelation that she was likely going to be spending the night in some form of police custody, Teagan was a complete mess. She had little in the way of control over the fire as it fatted itself upon her rage and hatred. While it didn't burn her directly, it licked away at her uniform like so much cotton tinder and the blaze left her skin just as red and blistered as any numbskull that laid out on a beach without the aid of sunblock. The only solace she had was that nobody could really see her cry; the heat caused the tears to simply dissipate.
Stupid; she was so fucking stupid. Head shots were in poor taste without the advantage of knowing exactly where her fist would be going. The glancing blow was proof enough that she was not in any way a trained fighter. It snapped the third and fourth metacarpals like matchsticks. No wonder Marcus bonded to a metal tragendire, his head must have been made of solid lead.

Teagan watched the hatchling assistant crumple into the sand. To her credit, she could at least leave a mark and without healing he'd be feeling that one immediately. She could practically see the blister following the shape of her fingers whilst she stayed still, cradling her hand. It was all a right mess and now she couldn't even aid the prince-though from the sound of things he was well taken care of and obviously terrified as he latched on to the first person in his immediate vicinity, a young girl of some apparent importance that she did not know; nevermind the healing provided by the unicorn, well-that was no small help.

"Sorry." she managed to croak whilst watching Eidolon undo all of her good handiwork as easily wiping mud from a boot. To say that she wasn't displeased was a lie of the worst sort, but she didn't balk so much as burn more. The calming aura dimmed the fires slightly and helped to relax the turbulence of her emotions, but it was ultimately Idazon's intervention that quenched the flames. Teagan pulled in a much needed breath of air, finding something else to focus on aside from the carnage as the unicorn tended to Marcus' injury. She had been about to say yes to Eidolon's offer while only partly listening to Idazon's excuse as to why she couldn't just pulp the man's face to utter oblivion-she did have two hands after all. A word to either of them would simply have to wait at the brief distraction of another set of hoof beats. She didn't think there were any more centaurs near the chaos, but glancing about at the brief flash of movement was the last sensible thing she registered.

Someone had fired a gun. Where the shot had come from, who had fired it, and how they had gotten through security with a gun in the first place were all thoughts that simply didn't register for Teagan at that exact moment. What she did acknowledge however, was the fact that her feet were not longer in the sands and a tightness across her chest as Idazon's arm wrapped just below her chest in a hasty grab and the sleek obsidian centaur reared up. A seering, knife like pain shot through her ear as it was simply split in two and left to flap in the breeze with a bloody mess. She could feel the impact of the bullet, like a sharp kick, but it didn't hurt in the least. Perhaps that was simply proof that she was dead or dying as both hands-broken or not scrabbled across her front and came away red with so much blood.

But it wasn't hers.

Pain, terror, and worry were all took root in her scrambled thoughts. She'd been shot at before. Hell, she'd been kicked, punched, and fairly brutalized in her time in Nondir. Stabbed once-though it was inconsequential and led to few complications. She watched the man line up another shot, only to be pinned to the ground and suffocated by a tragendire shaped slice of the heavens. Where the second bullet lodged she didn't know, didn't want to know. It simply wasn't important at that moment as she glanced back up to Idazon.

"Ida...you're bleeding." what a brilliant obversation. Shock and adrenaline simply made Teagan a goddamn genius.

Azarahl Narluxan

At first she took little notice of the approaching unicorn, she somehow felt no harm would come from her, but then she realized she was here to help, there to heal Ahm. His breathing sounded so horrible, even as the saddle was finally released. She watched as the Unicorn dipped her horn down, Ahm's heaving sides seemed to relax slightly, only to become agitated once again though this time not in physical pain. Aza would be lying if her heart didn't feel a twinge of sadness as the first person Ahm reached for was Rhoan and not herself. She knew the two had grown to become close friends and she liked the young girl herself. She could only stare sadly as Ahm cried, feeling useless and undeserving. It was her fault after all Ahm was found alone by the group of men. It wouldn't had come to this if she had just done what her mother had made her promise. "Protect your brother."

Her silent moping was cut short by the ringing shot of a gun, soon followed by another. As they rang through the hatchery a giant shadow was cast upon them as Rui changed into his dragon form, standing above them protectively. Katci had lept in front of Aza and Ahm in much the same way though she was much smaller than the giant Crystal/Spirit though no less terrifying. She seemed to suddenly relax, sitting down as another Tragendire kit suddenly appeared above the shooter, swiftly ending his life. The both watched as the kit turned toward them and began to approach them.

Do not worry Aza. She is here to protect Ahm. Just as I am here to protect you.

Aza felt that twinge in her gut again. Ahm would need another protector, because she was clearly not enough. Katci came around and laid her head in Aza's lap.

It is not your fault. There were supposed to be guards, they abandoned their post, allowing people like them free reign where there shouldn't have been.

It doesn't matter the circumstances though. No matter what the reasoning is I should have been there. I should have protected him, and I didn't.

Though the young tragendire wanted to comfort her bonded she could understand the emotions coming from the centaur. She understood that if she had failed to protect Aza nothing could be said to make her feel ok about it. It had happened, and it could have been avoided.

Braelyn; Dan, Minerva

Sitting and waiting while watching the carnage from a distance did not sit well with the little ice horse, but she could not bring herself to dive into the fray with so many bodies already embroiled within the chaos. She would simply get in the way, and from the sizzle of ozone and cracking of newly hardened molten sand it did not seem that she would be of much help anyway. With the distance, craning her neck only did so much as she worked herself into a sitting position, almost like some strange, overly long dog to get a better view of the mayhem. She didn't really care if she looked silly, but she knew if she got up she'd bolt as quick as her hooves could carry her into the morass of bodies and that would simply do no favors to her or anyone else.

Little tendrils of nervous ice coiled around her hooves like so much grass and weeds, the base of which collasped under its own weight due to the fluidity of the sand until it was wet enough to freeze on its own. She couldn't see the prince anymore, not with so many bodies around, but Azarahl and Idazon seemed to have taken things to hand quickly enough-they would have raised an alarm by now if he were in much greater peril, wouldn't they? With Minerva's unexpected return Brie could only assume that everything was okay and the situation quelled, nevermind the presence of the unicorn that waded into the morass. If there were injuries-and it seemed there were for certain, perhaps she could tend to them quickly.

"We're fine, why wouldn't we be?" the question from Minerva seemed odd, given that the conflict was well removed from the majority of the crowd. She hadn't meant to speak for Aidan but really, she was right there next to her. How could they not be okay? Had one of their own sent her back? She did not intend to question the steam's motives here on the sands. Everything must have been fine.

But it wasn't.

As the air rang with the sound of a gun being fired, it startled Braelyn to all of her feet as she gave the quickest bell-laden prance yet. She hadn't expected to be such a bundle of nerves, but that was undoubtably gunfire. How had someone gotten a gun onto the sands in the first place? the entire ceremony was meant to be a safe haven. What had happened with the security? Questions reeled in her thoughts but she did not advance as a second gunshot singed the air before yet another of the unusual bearlike creatures all but dropped from a hole in space and smothered the gunman to death.

"...I thought we were supposed to be welcome here..."

Aidan: Brie, Minerva

"I'm alright, we've been stood out here the whole time," the redhead gave a bit of a chuckle as her short tail flicked nervously and she shifted her weight.

For what looked like a bundle of chaos a few dozen yards away wasn't all that chaotic anymore as it calmed down and things started to settle. Time ticked over as she looked from her friends to the gaggle of candidates and ambassadors and the prince and who knows what had shown up there. Her ears were filled with the sounds of distant goings-on as healers, security, candidates and practically everyone on the payroll was milling about to orders and instructions given by the giants. They were efficient, she could give them that.

And then the gunshots sounded.

That almost made the spotty taur's heart stop and she was on guard almost instantly and half ready to rumble if anyone decided to take any more potshots. Her attention was drawn to an elf on a horse who was... promptly smushed by a newer tragendire pup, but not before letting off another stray shot. That was unfortunate, though from the reactions it seemed as though he'd either hit or narrowly missed his intended target.
