Ripples in Destiny; The Touching + Time Plot

The morning of the touching started off like any other morning. Candidates, long awaiting that very day were mostly eager to awaken and arrive- The routine had been practiced. Care of eggs had been learned. They had been taught to bow to dragons, to introduce themselves, to be respectful to the dragons before asking if they could touch eggs. In fact, the candidates were already on the sands, select people were in the seating area, watching family members on this auspicious day. They had even called for a priest to bless the candidates on their most trying day yet....and yet,....there was an unnatural stillness in the air.

This stillness was unlike anything anyone really was aware of having experienced before, for indeed, none were aware of the goings on. The world seemed as if paused, people stopped mid-step, playful candidates unmoving, some already as respectful as they could possibly be, and others having fun before the proper event began. Their studious teacher, the air dragon Atterimus, had taken a break from tending his eggs to walk with the candidates. The world was still. Frozen in time and space, with exception to the dragons of the Court of Time.

It seemed as if there were fifty of these time dragons, darting here and there, inspecting absolutely every egg- Even the ones certain mother dragons were trying to hide. There were two other dragons present that were not Time dragons specifically, but were still immune to this time pause of the world, besides those from on high, such as Zeliniel- Who was likely helping. Both were celestial, one an attendant to the inured and still healing Yggdrasil, who appeared to be sleeping even now, and another celestial that watched the events with narrowed eyes, snarling when the Time dragons grew too close. Many of them held clipboards, taking notes, jotting down perspective futures, and then conferring with one another about which ones should be moved. There were oddly specific and bold lines in these visions of future they held, and despite all their care, some bonds were destined to be made, regardless of time and space.

It wasn't as if such a thing had never happened before, but it was not so common for so many to be set in stone as these were. After they were done making notes, they returned to a massive titan sitting in the middle of the grounds. She was reading over notes at her leisure, as if she had all the time in the world. And she did, literally. It was hard to guess exactly how long she spent calculating the paths of the future for these eggs, but when she was done, she crooned softly and called for the time dragons to prepare the timelock egg canisters for the given number of eggs she already knew would be surrendered. She cast her gaze upon her patient daughter, the heiress of time so to speak, who had borne one of the eggs that was to be moved to another time. Daughter mine, might you help myself and the others speak to the other dragons when we Resume? They may better listen to one whom has given up their offspring to the whims of time. To ill will befall your eggs while you and your rider are about, I have seen as much. She spoke kindly, thrumming a soft note in her throat, before she got up and began to move, her form shimmering as she stepped around and over unknowing dragons and nests, careful beyond imagining, and stopped near the candidates at a precisely predicted spot. It was far enough ahead of them that they would not be /as/ startled, but close enough that they would realize instantly that this titan had not been there before- A titan they were only loosely familiar with, not one of the dominant four, or two new titans. This was a different kind of Titan- One of the celestial court, bigger than the others of the moral plane (Save for two, one of which was at rest in this timeline, she thought to herself). Guague gave a wordless signal to the others, all landed, and sat quite still, focusing their power.

Slowly, as if the gears were beginning to whir in the workings of the world, time began to un-knit the paused knot that had been temporarily tied. Those present felt a strangeness, a momentary lapse in thought or conversation. The sensation of de javu, perhaps. As they came around again, from a sleep they hadn't really had, the Time dragon waited for them to realize she was there. A few more steps until they noticed. Once they did, she purred softly. Hello, young ones. Today seems to be the beginning of many bright futures,.... She paused, her gaze lingering on a few she was aware were not going to have great days, but continued. But I have some news that I do not typically deliver. Feel honored, friends, for today I bestow knowledge. Many of you gathered here will not bond to a dragon this year, because we are taking the eggs to another time. But perhaps not so far away. It will be within the standard years of your eligible candidacy- In Etharius, in fact, if all goes as planned.

She paused, looking at the many disappointed faces. Fret not, young ones. Your destinies await you, and greatness is not lost! However,... She paused, looking at a group of Centaurs and mused. I sense that you all may soon feel as if your trip here was wasted. Think of it only as a stop on the road. Here, you learned things you might not have otherwise learned, and when you return to your homes, bring the wisdoms you learned here with you. Then, when the time is right and the crystal flowers bloom, you will be called upon by dragonkind.

With that said, the great dragon spread her wings and lifted off the ground, only to fly back to the center of the grounds upon her perch, her size shifting until she was only twice the size of all the other time dragons, and not nearly so massive as her titan form. This form, she felt, was easier to speak to for concerned parent dragons she was sure might have complaints if the other time dragons could not convince them everything was fine.
----
OOC List
These dragons will have an egg taken from them. In character they are given the option to comply, but for the purpose of plot and having too many eggs in this round, these dragons will accept having their eggs taken. (but however much convincing it takes is up to you! They can be upset, angry, or peaceful and agreeable. *This sort of event happens roughly every year, but these particular dragons have mostly never had it happen to them, so its new and probably not the most awesome thing they've had to deal with.*
HERE are parents, and below that are the eggs being taken, with their parents next to it)
OOC #2:
Candidates do not need to reply to Gauge, or interact with her. She's kind of busy dealing with time stuff so she's probably not the best bet for interaction. Other than that, Candidates may ask any dragon to touch any egg. Once a player has touched some eggs, if they feel like it, they can ask a dragon if they may help tend an egg, which involves bringing any fresh nesting material or bringing an object to offer the baby dragon as a token. Remember that actions of candidates will be responded to the way the parent dragons want- some mother dragons are very territorial of their eggs! If you wish to have a candidate injured, clear it between character owners first!
HAVE FUN. P.S: All hot element eggs may be touched with special gloves npc hatchery assistants will hand candidates. No need to wait for a reply on those, just takem! Candidates must judge based on learning about elements whether an egg is safe to touch or not. *if you need help, check the dragon info page!*
The giant Seraphic Egg is not off limits. You may request to touch it. Tahl will agree to let anyone try to touch it, at their own discretion.

Lysander, Tag; Dragons, Candidates, EGGS, literally everyone?? He's so excited.

When Lysander had first arrived in the city, he had never intended to act in any of the more formal ceremonies. He certainly hadn't planned it, and if he had, he'd brought his best robes along with him. As it so happened, here he was, standing in the midst of the important touching ceremony. Officially, his job was to bless the Candidates and wish for their good fortune in the upcoming Hatching. He intended to go beyond that, however. It wasn't unusual for observing priests to take their blessings to the eggs themselves as well, and Lysander was more than happy to fulfill this role. He had no doubt that this was going to be a trying day, and his hand gripped tightly at Daisy's harness as he made his way down onto the ground level.

Hundreds of eggs lay around him, and though there was certainly something unsual in the air, he wasn't going to allow a bit of uneasiness to steal his joy. His smile was broad as he cast his eyes over the gathered Candidates. A part of him envied them a little. In his youth, he too dreamt of experiencing life beside a dragon. Fate had something else in mind for him, however, and his work as a priest fit him well. Yes, he was happy with his lot in life, and his heart warmed at the sight of them even as Daisy pressed against his legs.

He wore white for the ceremony, his sash cinched tightly around his narrow waist. His ceremonial shawl, adorned with medals for the blessings and freshly laundered, appeared well-loved but clean and crisp. He wore it draped over his shoulders, the high collar of his robe nearly touching his chin. To tell the truth, he despised the formal dress of his Order, but even he'd had to admit he looked better than usual as he'd left his appointed room for the day.

"Dear Candidates," He called once quiet had been established. "Today, I bring the blessings of Selhanzilael upon you." He stretched his arms out, and beamed at the Candidates from where he stood. "May your pride be humbled, and your thoughts turned quiet. Remember always that you are in Her presence, and the presence of Her beloved children. May she keep you always beneath her protective wings," He called. "I hearby call the blessings of the Celestial upon you; May you bask in Her glory and know humility." He bows his head to allow a moment of prayer as the official blessing ended, freeing the Candidates to step forward. His work done, he was left to pursue his own work: The blessings of the eggs.

And, bless him, there were so many to approach.

He started at the beginning, and allowed Daisy to lead him. He already knew Talherahiel, of course, though they had not met before in the best of situations. He bowed as best as he could, his smile warming his face as he gave his dog a pat.

"I hope you've rested, Talherahiel," He began with a respectful bow. "If you'll allow me, I'd like to bless your egg." Good Celestial Mother, but what an honor it was still to be in the presence of dragons. Beyond her lay Yggdrasil, resting beside her own eggs. The sight of her made his throat tighten, and he quickly turned his attention back to Talherahiel lest he begin to openly weep. Not now. Not when there was work to be done.

"I'm sorry," He apologized at once. "I-- I'm a bit overwhelmed. I'm so very, very honored."

Blood Distress
Tag: Horizon, Poor Time Dragon

One moment, frozen in time. Distress lapped at a claw after cleaning up around the egg. The Touching was today. The class of Candidates, not nearly as gruff and scared as the Nondir children and young adults she'd been around as they grew, would be pouring in at any moment to prepare to inspect all the eggs. The Blood dragon didn't necessarily mind which route her egg took, as long as it was what the young hatchling wanted. Distress would be there every step of the way if needed. The vicious, cunning battle-conscious warrior had softened up for her egg, but still remained the devoted, skilled captain she'd been known for. And, of course, she had no intentions of letting anyone forget that. Her sultry prowess in both speaking and fighting had worked wonders for her thus far, but as if a cloudy dream had been lifted, the moment had passed.

Instead of the empty clearing, a gigantic Dragon was waiting for the collective room to come back to their senses. As she spoke, dread and fear gripped at her belly, an emotion she rarely experienced. Why wouldn't the candidates not all get dragons? Surely there was plenty here for them, including their precious floating egg. Angrily flaring her nostrils at the time capsules being placed out, a time dragon had glided over to inform Distress that her egg had been chosen for a future time. Her freshly cleaned claws dug into the dirt once more, however not NEARLY as precise and pretty as the space around her egg had been made. Deep, straight rivets were bored into the dirt as she glared over at the unfortunate messenger.

"No." Distress hissed, lifting a pale lip to bare her fangs angrily at the time dragon in front of her. The suggestion was out of the question. Take her egg to a different time? What if she wasn't around when it was to be hatched? Concern after concern rose to her mind, and her great head peered over her shoulder to catch Horizon's attention, in hopes he would come and assist the argument. What they were asking for was her first to-be-born. She and Horizon knew they were to be since they were within eggs, but taking away their egg was a heinous crime, no matter how soon it would be hatched in the near future.

"Go away, now." Blood began to pool angrily from her pores, splashing against her skin without liquid form, disappearing under her as it rolled down her hide. She knew it wasn't the messengers fault, and yet... she loathed the idea of giving up her egg to time. Why? Why couldn't it stay here and hatch? Distress didn't care if the child wished to bond or wished to stay unbonded like its parents, but the chance to live as was intended... meddling with time was something she preferred not to do. She tried her best to not take out all of her frustrations on the poor time dragon that kept trying to explain the procedure, but refusal was at the end of her tongue at every turn. Protectively wrapping her tail around the floating egg (which annoyed the wisp that circled the egg, forcing it to fly around the tail) she turned her head to the side, signalling the end of conversation.

"Dear, please lay with me. We must prepare for the Candidates to approach the egg. Surely if the egg bonds to one of these here, we won't have to say goodbye to our egg."

Rhoan
Tag: Ahmduer, or anyone that has a question about anything

Royalty didn't necessarily mean one got to go anywhere, but today, things were set as an exception. Her behavior at the feast hadn't necessarily gotten punished per say, but Rhoan was informed that it was frowned upon to yell at people. Or jump on them. Or bite them. Or toss your metal leg at them. All minor infractions in the grand scheme of things, especially when Ahmduer was concerned. Her best friend, the shaken centaur had changed after the horrid event. Some ruffians had decided to attempt to ride Ahmduer after tricking him into a saddle, which sent Rhoan and her small amassed army of companions into a rage. Rui and Ruya were able to calm her down afterwards, but there wasn't much that could be done for Ahmduer.

With no true responsibilities other than assisting with any companions whenever needed, which Rhoan had to admit was a fantastic job, she had dedicated most of her time to assisting Ahmduer with his studies and mental health. Occasionally he'd ask her for study help, or to just spend time together when he wasn't busy. Granted, that wasn't often. This was one of the first non-hectic days for the Centaur, and she'd been asked to come and assist Ahmduer with the event. Her prowess with companion animals was well known, but Rhoan had also worked with Nienna to learn as much about dragons as possible. Although she was small, she was of definite use to anyone who wished to ask. Helping Ahmduer adjust to the Touching, and to be there as moral support was her first priority though.

However, Ahmduer was nowhere to be found. It was still early. She'd felt the lapse of time from the time dragon, and shot a look over at Nienna who'd recovered incredibly quickly in enough time to scribble down what had actually happened. Smiling slightly, Rhoan soon lost the enthusiasm when she heard about the time capsules. Had that happened at her Touching? Surely people hid eggs away from Vicarious, but in general, were eggs supposed to be taken away each time? She felt bad for the mothers and fathers, but somewhat understood the necessity? Rui would have known, but she made him stay home. It was better to not mess with the mother dragons. She didn't want to make them any more uncomfortable than they, for sure, already were. People passed by her, eager to see the Touching or participate, but she hung back, waiting for her friend to appear. He could probably use a hand to hold with his heart.

Glass/Metal Izanami Miristiale

An unhappy warning of a growl rose from the depth of her throat. She was not happy, not in the slightest. Her agitation had risen as more and more people arrived for the Touching Ceremony. Soon numerous amounts of children would approach her to touch her eggs. Her eggs. Her talons clutched the glass dome that covered the two eggs in front of her hissing at an attendant nearby causing them to back away from their already far distance. They had wanted to take her egg calling it infected and diseased. Truthfully one of the eggs did not come from herself but had been abandoned by another mother. The Glass/Metal had seen it being taken away by the assistants and promptly took it for herself. They had tried to explain how it was infected and abandoned for a reason, but she did not care, it was her egg now and no one would take it from her.

The arrival of the Time dragons startled her but at first she felt no threat to her eggs, until she began to understand what was going on. Her talons bore deep grooves into glass dome protecting her eggs, crystalline fangs glinted as she bore them to anyone daring to think of taking her eggs. She cared not that they would be returned the following year in Etharius nothing would convince her to give up her eggs. If they wanted to Time Lock them they would have to Time Lock her as well. Her tail thrashed behind her in agitation as she stared down anything that dared to come near.

Her mate Carpathian tried to calm her once again, reminding her that the candidates should be allowed to touch the eggs. It was an important part of their development and not a ceremony that should be denied. A low growl emitted itself from deep within at the thought of the possible harm that could befall her unborn children but as loath as she was to admit it she knew it to be true. She gently nuzzled her eggs lovingly, her muzzle piercing the glass dome as if it wasn’t there. She would let the Candidates touch her children.

She observed her eggs nestled in their glass domes unwilling to bring it down for the touching. After staring at it for a moment the glass wall began to shift. She made it large enough for a human to walk into and around the eggs, an intricately decorated doorway appearing where the candidates would approach. The door was shut and she would only open it to those she deemed safe to be around her eggs. A smaller glass dome surrounded each of the eggs separately, a single hole could be found just wide enough to stick an arm through and reach the eggs. Carpathian nuzzled her and suggested she should maybe not make the edges of the hole razor sharp and after huffing her displeasure smoothed them out, somewhat.

Seraphic Talherahiel to Lysander

It had been at least two months since the day of the laying- In that time, Talh' had been recovering, and keeping watch over the singular egg she'd laid. It was tiring and she was still in pain, her body still bruised within and without. She was so sore in fact that, aside from the holy sword blade at the end of her tail, she was not currently wearing her full armor. Some was present along her spine, where the rest would fold out of later if need be, but for now, she appeared as a serene, very tired and resting dragon. Her perch was the highest up, and originally, it had not had a very easy means of going up, but since the laying, Terminus had requested an elevator be installed, as it was thought to be a potential high risk for falls or candidates simply not attempting the climb. There was also mention of it being difficult for centaur and disabled folks before it had been installed. She appeared to be alone in the presence of the ever watching and seemingly judging egg, which sat in its elegant, yet simple nest. When she heard Lysander's voice, though, she lifted her head and neck and turned towards him, lowering her muzzle near enough that her soft, warm breath lightly cascaded over him like a breeze from the garden of eternity.
"Why, Lysander! It's good to see you again..." she trilled softly, a gentle purr escaping the Seraphic dragon. "Of course you may bless this egg, it would be an honor to us both." She seemed to speak on behalf of the egg, which really did seem imposing and watchful. She sat up at better attention, watching the slow spin of orbit of armor-like pieces around the egg, which grew more still the closer Lysander got to it.
Tahl was still surprised by the holy man, she had seen few so devoted- Though she in part wondered if he also spoke blessings of Enochiel, the Seraphic Titan, Sel's consort and keeper of the Host. She assumed he did, most sects that followed Selhanzilael did.

The pomp and circumstance around the Touching had been very well oriented. The only thing he hadn't expected was the gigantic dragon towering above them, explaining the time system for some of the eggs. It had taken quite a few moments for him to be pulled back to reality after what felt like an amazing sleep, but that was probably the Titan's doing. While Justin was new to being a Candidate, he wasn't necessarily new to the hatchings. After being a photographer for so long, he kind of understood the need for putting some dragons on hold, especially if they were going to another city's hatching in the next season. However, that didn't necessarily tide the mother dragons over. He could hear quite a few hissing in protest angrily, one blood dragon and metal/glass in particular were beginning to make a scene before shooing away the time dragon couriers. The Candidates were free to disperse and touch eggs, but Justin hung back in the crowd, shakily clutching his camera.

There were so many dragons here, and he didn't necessarily feel comfortable 'inside' the ring. After all, he'd been used to just watching from a distance. But being up close to these protective mothers? It was something he was very, very anxious about. Overthinking was something Justin did very well. Shoving his glasses up off his nose, he wandered forward, trying to shy away from the crowd. Most began to gravitate to see the Seraph egg, or to avoid the angry mother dragons arguing with Time dragons, and Justin managed to wander off to the side, eventually getting closer to Ciosa's nests. Realizing he'd stumbled upon a nest, he spun around in shock and dipped forward to show Ciosa and her mate some respect, if her mate was present. Sometimes dragons just liked to appear out of nowhere, or were out of his sight. Dragons were very big, after all. What felt like eons had only been a few seconds before he cleared his throat awkwardly and began to speak.

"Uh... hello, i'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I uh... My name is Justin, and i'm a photographer. Oh! I'm also a Candidate. I was curious if I would be able to take pictures of your eggs? They're very beautiful, and uh, I don't know if any of yours are being time capsuled but I could take a picture of all of them and give them to you so you have them.." Justin stammered, camera clutched in front of him awkwardly. He wasn't necessarily 'afraid' of dragons, but he definitely didn't want to step on any dragon toes today with the angry dragon mothers and protective motherly instincts flying about. Cursing himself for his social awkwardness, he fought back just turning around and heading back to his dorm. He made it this far, right? The dragon definitely seemed nice enough.

Shockingly Shocking

Ciosa
Tag: Justin

The laying, or more specifically, the time leading up to the laying had been a grueling ordeal for the pink dragoness, while she was of a larger breed there was no way her body was designed to carry so many large eggs. Awhile even before the laying, she had been unable to walk due to the weight and awkwardness of what she carried, and the pain of such had yet to really go away. It was subdued, with painkillers and such, but while that made her feel better it also made her a little spacey and sluggish. Nevertheless, she was excited for the ceremony, she was a very social dragon and lately very few had come to visit her outside the titans that seemed to hover about almost constantly. She felt a little bad for Terminus, but at the same time very much felt like punching him for what he put her through.

It almost seemed like she was going to drift asleep when she heard the first candidate approach, and her eyes opened to their normal fullness as he turned around and stammered at her. A deep, and soft purr came from her chest as she propped herself up and peered at him. Her body was covered with small, soft pink scales, and seemed to lack any of the horrible claws or horns of most fire dragons. Her horns were just two small, horns that swept back and very lightly curved towards eachother, a light ivory-cream color, not really designed for combat. Instead she just seemed... Nice, inviting, and pretty. Something she appeared to reflect in personality as well, as she giggled slightly at the candidate, then bowed her head to him.

"It's nice to meet you Justin, my name is Ciosa, and I was expecting visitors so don't worry about it." She tilted her head to the side a little as she eyed his camera, she had done some photography in her past, albeit not too much. She was more used to being on the receiving end of cameras. "I would be honored if you took their pictures, although if you do I do have one request..." Her eyes seemed to glint dangerously for a second as she leaned down towards him, close enough that it could be worrying, while still respecting his space. "You will have to touch one of them afterwards." she stuck out just the tip of her tongue slightly at him in a joking manner, then sat back more properly as she had been, a little posed, but looking natural among the eggs. Hmm... She wondered if he had seen her photos before, and if that was why he was approaching... But she didn't mind much either way.

The Dragoness had propped herself up to look at him, and a shiver rippled down Justin's spine. Her gentle purr put him a little bit more at ease, and thankfully she seemed slightly more amused at him than anything else. Hell, if it kept him with all his arms and legs, so be it. These moms, and dragon EGGS were serious business. Even with the painkillers Ciosa still commanded such grace and control that Justin could only gape in awe of the pink dragon. When she began speaking, Justin's shoulders relaxed slightly, and the camera quit shaking in his hands. She was expecting people, so that wasn't a concern, but the picture request had been a risky one. He was glad it had paid off. Or had it?

Ciosa began to move closer to him, testing her limits without bursting Justin's boundary bubble. When she was closer he could see the detail of her horns, and the small ripples within her scales. Being this close to a dragon was new. Cameras had zoom for a reason. Although he stiffened slightly, he hoped her request was something he could easily comply with. It wasn't until she spoke about touching an egg that he almost broke out into hysterical giggles. He was worrying over nothing!

But in exchange to touch an egg?! How could he forget to ask to touch the egg? He'd been a photographer so long, sometimes it was easy to forget why he was here. It wasn't an in depth session, he was going to possibly get a dragon companion! "I guess I could take you up on that offer." He smiled, setting down his current camera to take another one from a bag strapped to his back. He'd have to fumble with some settings to get the right lighting, and to make sure that the flash didn't reflect off of her scales in an unflattering way, but it was quick work after doing it for so long. "You're a natural at this, that pose is perfect. H-hold right there." He said, before snapping the picture.

"This is an older model, but it spits out the photo immediately. It may be a bit small, but i'm sure you could tuck it away under a scale or something if you'd like. Just give it a few seconds, and it'll be ready." He smiled, placing the polaroid on the ground as it developed. Picking an egg was hard, but he was drawn to one particular technology egg. Strange flares surrounded the orange, glowing egg, encircling it in a bright array of color. It was easy to look at, but the circuitry betrayed the type of egg it was instantly. Technology. Justin wouldn't lie, he had a particular fondness of technology eggs, so why the heck not?

"I'm going to touch this orange one, if that's alright. I think... because of the dragon type, i'm safe to do this without a glove." Which was good, because he forgot his. He approached the pulsing egg, hand beginning to slowly outstretch. Taking good care not to touch the surrounding beams of light, Justin touched the smooth surface of the egg with a few fingers before placing his hand fully on the edge of the shell. His heart raced for a moment from the adrenaline, before stepping back with a smile. He stooped down and picked up the photograph, holding it out gingerly for Ciosa. "Thank you so much, Miss Ciosa. The picture came out perfect! I can't tell, it looks like you might be sticking out your tongue here..." He grinned, losing a bit of the anxiety he held earlier.

Touching the Egg
Tag: Mantella and Maha.

Selena had spent a good bit of time worrying about this ceremony. To her the touching would make or break a candidate, after all what if you touched an egg to hard and broke it? Or what if the eggs you did touch didn’t like you for some reason? What if you overslept and missed the opening of the ceremony!? That was probably why Selena didn’t sleep at all the night before, instead she spent her time snacking and reading up on dragons and their eggs, and probably annoying the hell out of her roommate due to her reading light. When it came time to head out she spoke with the few friends she had made while they made their way to where the ceremony would take place. She was excited and that ultimately made up for her lack of sleep, the adrenaline pumping through her system and her nerves were great anti-sleep medications.

Selena paid attention as the massive dragon explained the process with the time eggs. She hadn’t been aware something like that would happen but in the end it made some sense to her, waste not want not after all. She was positive of course the mothers who had been chosen wouldn’t agree with it but in the end it seemed like everyone had to go along with it. After a bit Selena realized it was time for her to find an egg to touch. There were so many and they were all rather impressive and pretty. Then she spotted one, one that stuck out and made her tilted her head. The spiky egg looked almost angry and Selena nodded to herself, that was it that was the one she wanted to touch first.

Selena worked up some nerves and approached Maha and the egg, Selena bowed before the dragon, her mate, and the egg. “Hello. My name is Selena, I am a Candidate and would like the honor to touch your egg if you would allow it?” She asked and straightened back up after the bow. She looked from Maha to Mantella and then back to the egg “I promise I will be gentle.” She added.

Tag: Void/Glass/Metal Izanami Miristiale, would like to approach the sonic egg, wary of the scary infected one

This was all new to the elf. All the ceremony and traditions surrounding the sands was absolutely fascinating to Nox. He took to learning about the etiquette and care of the entire thing to heart. The last thing the elf wanted to do was to accidentally insult a new mother. He had quite a healthy respect for them thank you very much. The elf looked around hoping to see his roommate, Ahm. The mustang centaur was nowhere in sight, he sighed softly. Since the incident...he really hadn't much interaction with the prince. To be fair though if Nox was in the same situation he probably wouldn't want to be around people ether. He'll give Ahm his space, until then Merlot has been keeping most of Nox's free time. The rambunctious tragendire was safely back in his room taking a nap while he was out here for the ceremony.

Before Nox can even think about which one he was about to approach the stillness of time freezing over took them all. For just the briefest of moments he felt a little dizzy. Nothing serious but defiantly weird. Nox was just about to shake it off when the great time dragon made her presence known. As she spoke of possible future happenings a knot grew in the elf's gut. His brows knitted a little in worry and disappointment at the thought of not bonding. The feelings where quickly smothered and the elf put back on a much braver front. Merlot was particularly good at picking up when her bonded was...not feeling good even when alseep. No need to make things harder when its supposed to be easy.

Once they were free to wander, Nox meandered around the sands. The thought of approaching the seraphic briefly fluttered through his mind but the elf thought better of it. Instead something else caught his attention first. His keen ears picked up the soft sweet beats of techno coming from one of the nests. Nox couldn't help but stop a little bit away from where Izanami Miristiale and her mate Carpathian was. She was absolutely gorgeous...and also very stressed looking it seemed. Still undeterred, the elf bit his lip before steeling himself. Nox approached the nest slowly, the siren call of techno music egged him on.

Hello there. My name is Nox. If it would be alright, may I have permission to see the one making that lovely music? And...maybe perhaps touch? The elf was defiantly a little nervous but hopeful. He signed along as he spoke, the motions clear if a little stiff with nervous formality.

Mantella: tag Maha, Selena.

Mantella sat in the shadow of the Celestial he called his mate, a tiny speck when compared to her own stature. He did not mind the lack of attention, his multi-hued hide unusually dark as he, by all appearances, slept through the entire proceedings with the Time dragons. It was not that he didn't care for his offspring to be (though he wasn't exactly enamored of the little shits at present), or that he wished them gone. The fact of the matter was that the Time dragons gave very few shits about what he might do to them compared to what Mahasarmasael would do if they laid even a single talon on any one of her eggs.

It was annoying as fuck, really, but what could he do about it?

While his mate glowered at the still lingering overgrown pocketwatches, Mantella kept his multitudinous eyes on the candidates now roaming the hatching grounds. There were plenty of other parents for them to annoy and eggs for them to fondle, but for some strange damn reason it didn't take long for a few of them to start eyeing up his nest. Maybe it was the lure of a Celestial offspring, or maybe they wanted to prove their bravery by approaching some of the nastiest looking eggs on the sands.

Or maybe they were just fucking stupid. Whatever the case, it was his paternal duty to put the everloving fear of, well, him into whatever idiots decided they wanted to have a poke at his eggs. And lo, the first contestant was now approaching.

Midnight hide rippled and flickered as the toxic dragon roused, an iridescent panoply of colors sliding across the darkened markings that patterned his body. Mantella seemed to form suddenly in the shadows, levering himself to his feet and sauntering out to meet the candidate who had decided to approach not just any of his eggs, but the most prickly motherfucker in the whole damn batch. He strode right up to Selena without any consideration for her comfort, the frill around his neck flexing and waving slightly while he practically shoved his face into hers. If she wanted to Selena could easily reach out and touch him, though to do so was entirely inadvisable.

"You'll be gentle?" he echoed derisively, eight black eyes staring at her unblinkingly. "My, my. I must say I fear that will be in poor taste. Does that particular egg look like it's going to be at all gentle with you?"

Ciosa
Tag: Justin

She was glad that the candidate seemed to relax after speaking to her, there always seemed to be a few that were nervous wrecks the entire time no matter how much reassurance they got. It wasn't nearly her first time at one of these events, after all. Her smile broadened a bit more as he accepted her offer, and while she couldn't read minds could tell he was practically kicking himself internally at forgetting such a question. She seemed curious again when he switched cameras, only vaguely aware of the old models, though ones that dispensed pictures on demand were not uncommon. The smell of the chemicals, and activation method was definitely old she had to admit. "Just remember that some tech eggs like to steal watches..." she warned with a small giggle. It was the first tech egg she had laid, but not the first by a long shot pf those that she had seen. She couldn't help but remember a time when someone had gotten an entire prosthetic stolen by a tech egg, that had been embarrassing for the person in question, and the motherly dragon.

The egg shell was very warm to the touch, though not scalding, a faint hum could be heard within as if machinery was working within. The glowing solar panels were thankfully out of the way the entire time, and didn't move while he touched it. A moment after he placed his full palm on it though, the whole thing changed color briefly, pulsing a white color across the surface then went back to its normal glowing copper color. It didn't seem startled or anything, but felt more like it was acknowledging the presence of another being than anything.

Ciosa watched with interest, this wasn't the strangest thing she'd seen it do but she was glad that nothing untoward had happened, she doubted it would have, but there was always a risk. "The pleasure was mine, good luck with the rest of the eggs." She said with a tiny yawn, then reached down and very carefully retrieved the photo from him. Her hand didn't have the deadly long claws of most dragons, seeming much more dexterous and human-like than most, though most definitely draconic. It took her a moment to be sure she properly had it, before she lifted her hand up near to her face and examined it. It looked pretty good. "Me, make a silly face? I would never." She said with a wink, and small giggle before waving him off with her free hand to go test his luck with the other mothers.

Lysander to Seraphic Talherahiel and the Seraphic egg

Lysander beamed at the Seraph’s permission. He inclined at his waist, eyes lowered with reverence. “Thank you,” He murmured. “I will be gentle, of course. Stay, Daisy,” He instructed, though his dog danced uneasily on the spot at being left behind. She usually followed her commands perfectly, but even Lysander had to admit that there was something a bit different about this egg. He wasn’t frightened, but he was careful. Every egg was treated with respect, but his approach was downright reverent. Seraphs were the brood of the Consort, and as such, to be treated with utmost humility.

He slowly moved his hands to the shawl around his neck. The armored pieces spun idle around him and appeared to slow as he approached. Traditionally, one placed the shawl on the egg if possible (some eggs simply didn’t allow for such interaction), but in this instance, Lysander hesitated. The armored bits could easily hurt him if the egg decided it no longer wanted him near, and that gave him reason to pause. He was a trusting sort, however, and with a deep breath he stepped close and gently rested the shawl upon the egg.

“Young dragon,” He murmured the opening to the blessing prayer, “Father Lysander, ordained in the name of The Celestial and Consort, stands now before you. I call you to great purpose,” He continued on, voice strengthening as he continued, “To your origins be true, and when you emerge may you do so in full health and vibrance. Your coming has been orchestrated, and we await your arrival. In the name of the Celestial and Serpah, I bless you,” He concluded as he pressed the holy shawl against the egg’s shell. The touch made him take his breath sharply inwards, his eyes wide.

There was no word to describe the egg but intense. So intense, however, that he felt he may actually collapse. Daisy was at his side in an instant, pressed insistently against his legs while he grabbed for her harness. He managed to keep himself upright as he stared up at the massive thing, equal parts reverent, awed, and, yes, a touch apprehensive. Lysander had not been to many Hatchings before, so to say that he had never seen an egg like this before meant little. However…

“Thank you for allowing me your time,” He uttered as he stepped back from the egg. By the Mother, he felt like he may actually collapse. HIs legs felt like jelly. “I think I may need to sit down.”

Candidate Maksim to the crowd, Approaching Sonic Tonare to touch Fire Egg

Celestial be good but formalities were boring. He was used to them, of course, but that didn't mean that he enjoyed them any less. Pomp and circumstance, he'd claim, had never really been his style (even if he had regularly relished such activities before). It didn't help that the listening was difficult with so many dragons about, either. There were literally over a hundred of them, mulling around the enormous space and guarding their nests or come to observe. He shifted occasionally, lifted himself up onto the tips of his shoes to catch a glimpse of a speaker, but his eyes inevitably drifted. The Titans were far more interesting than anything anyone else could have said, and his heart fluttered excitedly in his chest the longer they stood.

How many years had he begged his parents to allow him to present himself to dragons? If he was honest with himself, he loved music. Truly and deeply, he did. It would always be important to him, and yet even music paled when compared to dragons. He could admit that part of that was his history; He'd spent years performing and learning music. It was familiar to him in a way nothing else was. Everything else was new and exciting, and dragons especially so. He'd never been a particularly patient person anyway, and waiting for something so important now felt torturous.

The moment the blessing was over and the dragons had been addressed, the Candidates began to slowly spread out across the enormous nesting area. He spared a moment to look for his friend, and when he couldn't quickly find him, Maksim shrugged and moved off on his own. He was used to doing things on his own, and there were too many eggs to see to worry about being attached to someone else.

Being in the nesting grounds was a bit like being in a music store. Everything was interesting, and everything drew his attention at once. He had no doubt that he wouldn't be able to see every egg, but that was alright. What worried him was that he wouldn't even be able to see enough to decide which ones he wanted to interact with. Of course, touching an egg did nothing to guarantee attracting a dragon's attention, but the idea of choosing your partner before they were even out of the shell was still an attractive one.

The giant Seraph egg held no interest for him. He could tell there was already quite a group gathering in order to touch it, and he'd rather not put himself in the middle of so many bodies. He also avoided the nests of dragons who appeared irate, no doubt due to the couriers flitting about and trying to convince the brooding mothers to give up their eggs. He also gave the Titans a pass; As impressive as they were, their presence was still a touch intimidating.

He drifted aimlessly along the rows of nests until a soft, musical sound caught his ears. He quickly turned his head, intrigued, and followed the noise to the nest of a sonic dragon. He kept his distance, wary still even as his eyes fell upon the gleaming red and gold fire egg. Heat and music came off of it in waves, and the odd strings attached to the shell looked pliable enough to pluck. His fingers itched at the sight. What sort of music might result?

He pried his eyes away form the egg just long enough to give the mother an appropriate bow. "Sorry," He stammered. "I was impolite. I was wondering," He slowed, chose his words carefully, "If I might be allowed to touch one of your eggs. I heard the music, " He explained. "It's lovely."

Rock on Gold Dust Woman

Jack, Chrono, and Iviera

Chrono’s ears flicked in agitation as her whiskers rose with ire as her mother’s small battalion of time dragons surveyed the nests and made their various notes. She knew, even without looking ahead into time that they were planning to take one of her brood as assistant after assistant returned to double check her nest. They tittered among themselves and exchanged clipboards. Nervous habits, chewing pens and secret, furtive glances were all of the clues that Chrono needed to know that they were discussing either her, or the children she was nestled around. Sworn to secrecy that they were, they could at least keep their mutterings to themselves. She knew about the procedures taken with putting eggs in stasis, but that didn’t make being on the receiving end of such an ultimatum any more bearable. When the gaggle of attendants exceeded three, Chrono had enough. She gave her tail blade an ominous thump, hissing through closed teeth that sent the gaggle of snooping dragons scattering to other nests. She would relinquish her eggs as needed, but that didn’t mean she had to be happy about it right from the start.

The crashing blade of Chrono’s tail upon the hatching grounds was enough to wake her bonded, and Iviera. Though they were immune to the time stop, there was only so much that could hold Jack’s interest when everyone else was unable to interact. Her own curiosity at the proceedings had been thoroughly reeled in by Chrono’s own displeasure, coupled with her inability to keep pace with any of the other working time dragons. Sleep it seemed, was the best course of action to keep from getting underfoot. With the restful bout at an end, Jack freed herself from the soft fur she’d curled up against and rubbed the sand from her eyes as Iviera curled around her shoulders with a tiny yawn. “Something wrong, mine?” Red eyes glanced up towards the agitated time dragon as Chrono craned her neck down to observe her bonded. “Mother is here to collect the eggs that will go forward in time.” Chrono’s frown told Jack all she needed to know as clawed fingers gently pet her fur. “That’s a shame. But it’s probably for the best. Do you know which of yours will be going ahead?” despite the magnitude of the situation, Jack could not help but be fairly relaxed about the proceedings. This was something that happened every hatching season. It stood to reason that Chrono would one day find herself participating. As if on cue, one of the attendants arrived to address Chrono directly. Her lava egg would be prepared for stasis once the touching had concluded.

“Daughter mine, might you help myself and the others speak to the other dragons when we Resume? They may better listen to one whom has given up their offspring to the whims of time. To ill will befall your eggs while you and your rider are about, I have seen as much.”

“Very well.” Chrono cast parting glance to her nest as she waffled with indecision on how to proceed. If Gauge said that her eggs would be safe then she had little reason to disbelieve her own mother, nevermind her element.

“We can stay put.” Jack offered as Iviera flexed her wings and made herself comfortable as she shook off the dregs of sleep. “I doubt that little old me will be much help in convincing the others to surrender their offspring, but I’m more than capable of keeping an eye on the nest until you get back.” Chrono’s rider beamed gently as the bewhiskered dragon mulled over her options. With a sweeping nod she turned to her nest to see if the siblings required any further attention for the moment. No, she had done well, as a mother should. Any fiddling or extra tending would come from the candidates as they approached. “I trust your judgement, Mine.” Chrono managed a small, but sad smile before taking off to assist in bartering. Perhaps Gauge was correct and her own experience might help. Perhaps not, only Time would tell. With her bonded having departed to aid the other time dragons, Jack folded up her blanket before settling it just in front of the two eggs and taking a seat. Finally fully awake, Iviera took the short flight to the ground before creating a little crystalline half circle in front of Jack’s blanket before curling up in her bonded’s lap. Here they would wait.

OOC: Jack and Iviera will field any inquiries for Chrono’s nest. If you have any disgruntled parents that need some convincing on eggs being taken, let me know, and Chrono shall visit!

Rurik and touching heading to Time Chrono’s clutch (Ice) Tag Teagan (slight mention)/Jack.
To say that Aessulla was far different than Nondir was an understatement. Life had completely changed for the siblings for better or worse. Of course, Rurik hadn’t been too pleased with himself when he hadn’t gotten to teagan in time during the ceremonies and he promised he would do better. He hadn’t meant to get separated from her, and by the time he had found her, the events had settled and Teagan had been bandaged (And bonded to a Tragendire--and interesting creature that Rurik wasn’t sure if it liked him or not) and rather upset. He had might have hovered a bit too much after that but soon candidate lessons started.

Another experience he had no well, experience with at all. Anything he had learned, he had taught himself, or observed from afar. While it wasn’t a one-on-one, the whole classroom was an adjustment. He had to be there on-time, dressed appropriately, and there was so much to remember. Rurik wasn’t sure that he was going to be able to remember, and at times it was hard to pay attention to get all the details. He wanted to be friends with everyone as well, but wary and caution of other peoples intentions always littered and he more often than not stuck with Teagan than anything--though he talked with a few of his classmates here and there. From not having to worry about food, clothing, being murdered in their sleep to candidate lessons, and chores Life had taken a drastic turn, and Rurik held himself as tall as he could but everything was new and overwhelming there were times he just...didn’t want to go out, just stick to his room and tinker with things.

The Technology in Aesulla astounded him. He hadn’t seen so much in all his life, and by far they were his favorite place to visit. Not that he could bring himself to buy himself anything, but he always admired them. How he would love to be able to find a way to find someone to teach him more--to be able to become his life-long dream of cybernetics, fixing, creating. That would be the best there ever was, and Teagan could find a job as whatever she wanted, and not have to do anything shady any more. She wouldn’t have to take care of him as much. She could focus on herself, rather than worry about him.

And then the day of the touching came upon them. And Rurik dressed appropriately and couldn’t contain how excited he was, and how nervous he was. It still was unsettling being around so many dragons that could squish you and now they were going to go and touch eggs--around dragons who, if they were anything like a brooding mother cat--would be very touchy about their clutch. But he remembered how he was supposed to greet them, which dragon he was supposed to greet first and then he turned to Teagan.

“Do you think I look alright?” he asked, the simple clothing fitting to his form. While they weren’t by far considered fancy fancy to anyone, they were fancy to the boy who never knew if they were going to get not-worn out clothes from week to week. It was considered fancy and nice if it didn’t have too many holes and oil stains on them. These were fresh, pristine. Right out of the package just about and the soft material felt nice. He tamed his wild orange hair and managed to get it looking decent. He turned to his sister who merely waved him to go ahead of her. Rurik hesitated, but finally decided that that would be the best to do as she wished than to agitate her. So he left with the rest, moving with the candidates.

Upon entering the large hatcher, Rurik wished he could have just waited, but at the same time, was enamored by the enormity. Dragons of all sorts lay scattered in respective biomes and chosen nests, guarding their clutch. The unnatural stillness and sleep passed and Rurik, of course, didn’t really notice (though nobody who didn’t know was supposed to). And then there was someone talking. The large dragon had just come out of nowhere and Rurik just stared at the marvelous. It almost went over his head what she was saying, but he managed to snap out of it, and a slight stone settled in his stomach. Not all would bond and eggs were being taken...forward in time? How did that work? It was a puzzle, but then dragon magic was as elusive to the candidate despite having briefly studied the elements of most of the major dragons. Not all stuck, and he had taken a shining to tech elements though.

Finally, they were released, and Rurik waited a few moments, but his sister was still nowhere to be seen. He frowned, and stared at all the dragons. They were so many, and so large. Rurik couldn’t…. Where to go first? Would he even remember to be polite? What if he messed up. Randomly picking a direction, the boy shuffled through, nervously skittering around lines and hatching assistants. Surely there had to be one that looked...approachable. And he couldn’t just wander around the hatchery looking like an idiot. Finally, one caught his eye--there wasn’t a large dragon present, but there was a person and a…..small dragon. Well, Smallest dragon here present that Rurik had seen. Of course, getting closer to the human to find that she wasn’t...all completely human. Horns adorned the person and Rurik hadn’t really seen anyone with horns before. Or eyes like theirs. But they looked far more approachable than a towering dragon that could squish him easy. They looked like they would have a slightly harder time squishing him….. He bowed, mimicking the moves he had seen in the class and made sure that everything was perfect. He wanted to have a good impression.

“Um. Greetings! I am Rurik And um. With your permission I would like to touch an egg.” He asked, trying to keep the stutter out of his voice. It would be far easier if he had a familiar face with him, but Teagan was not quite here yet. Which was fine. He could do this. Yeah.

Glass/Metal Izanami
Tag: Nox

The dragoness had calmed down somewhat when no time dragons approached her nest to ask her to take her eggs away. She still glared at them and hissed at any whom seemed to be heading in her direction but so far none had come to her nest at all. She clasped her glass dome tight between her claws the dragonglass coated talons glinting in the light. The sand surrounding her body was coated in a flashing blues and purples from light scattering off her shattered glass hide. She looked like a glass figurine carefully and skillfully crafted that had been dropped, shattered and put back together. Each crack sharply visible and painful to look at for those who knew it was caused by the death of her bonded, killed by Nondir.

Her eyes instantly snapped to the candidate that approached, the male Elf apparently crossing some invisible line that put him on her watch list. A growl reverberated from deep within her chest causing a tinkling sound akin to glass wind chimes come from her crest. A sound so beautiful muffled by a sound so frightening. Carpathian nudged her and once again reminded his mate that this ceremony was for candidates to actually touch her eggs, not just look upon them. Swinging her head down till her glass muzzle was inches away from the Elf she huffed a breath of hot air in in displeasure at what he had to say.

"And why do you only want to touch one of my eggs? Do you find one unfit for your attention?" Her eyes glinted angrily at his inattention to her adopted egg. "Touch them both or touch none at all!" She snarled angrily opening the glass door so the Elf could enter.

Braelyn arriving at the Touching Ceremony, a little disheartened. @Minerva (brief mention) @Irasotiel (Ice Egg)

Braelyn shook off the sleep of the temporary time stasis, not really knowing what it was that had just washed over her and the rest of the candidates. The time titan was a surprise to behold, just as numerous attendants were as they flit through the massive assemblage of expecting parents. The tone of Gauge’s words made the little fjord dance nervously on her hooves. Sharing knowledge was one thing, but sharing bad news was another. That she singled out the centaurs directly sent a shiver down Brae’s spine as she flicked her tail in an effort to stave off nerves. They had come so far, only to be informed that there was little chance that they would bond? How was that fair? True, there was no guarantee that all candidates would bond on the sands in the first place. That in and of itself was simply the nature of dragons. But to be singled out as an entire race and then told that their journey would likely be fruitless? It hurt.

With a nervous brush of a hand through her hair, Braelyn steeled herself. It was not the end of the world, and the news that their bond was unlikely did not mean that their partners were not on the hatching grounds at all. It simply meant that they would be delayed. Besides, she thought to herself, she had come for other reasons and the dragons were just one of many. Turning away from the words of wisdom that the time titan Gauge had bestowed upon their motley crew, the tiny draft taur looked out about the crowd to search for Minerva before the candidates were free to disperse. So long as she had friends present, the end result did not matter. Satisfied and resolved to see the day’s proceedings through to the end, Brae listened to the young priest’s blessing before offering a gentle and respectful bow, despite her size. With the floodgates open and the candidates dispersing among the numerous biomes, it fell upon Brae to figure out where it was that she would visit first. Picking up a pair of gloves, just in case, the young centaur set off in no one direction in particular as she scanned the hatchery for her first stop.

It was the slight gleam of icy blue that drew the little centaur towards Irasotiel’s nest. As she reached the edge of the forested pond, Braelyn neatly tucked one of her forelegs so that she could give the peaceful seraphic a deep and respectful bow. “Gracious Mother, my name is Braelyn. I was hoping that I might have permission to touch one of your eggs?” she gestured gently towards the ice egg before putting her hands together to make a little frozen rose. “We seem to have similar interests.” she smiled as she offered the flower to the seraph.

Jack and Iviera to Rurik

It wasn’t long before the touching started that Jack and Iviera had their first visitor, and for Jack, it wasn’t the first time that they had a nervous encounter with someone young. Carefully, she smoothed out her uniform and straightened the blue stole across her shoulders as she hid her clawed fingertips beneath Iviera’s tiny green form. She donned a toothless smile as they approached in the hopes that perhaps she might appear less threatening, though there was nothing at all she could do for her horns. Quietly, the pair watched as Rurik approached, bowed, and gave his introduction.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Rurik.” Jack spoke up. “My bonded is working with the rest of the time dragons here, but she would be delighted to have you visit her nest. Please feel free to touch either egg, or both, if you like.” her voice was friendly and not at all frightful, despite her appearance for the young candidate.

“Psst. Tamaron…” Iviera sighed. She tugged on Jack’s coat as her bonded looked down to see what all was the matter. “He needs gloves.”

“Oh...yes, indeed.” Jack looked momentarily startled as she patted her pockets before looking under the edge of her blanket. Iviera shook her head before unclipping the pair that Jack had been using while helping Chrono. With a gentle skip and a flutter she perched on Rurik’s shoulder briefly before handing him the thick leather gauntlets. “These should fit you just fine.” the tiny crystal offered. “Please return them to Jack before you leave though, just in case another candidate forgets to grab a pair when they visit.” With a gentle titter, the crystal returned to Jack’s lap to wait and see which egg Rurik would choose to touch first.

Seraphic/Time Zeliniel Chroniacresht
Tag: (Reaver) Distress

She had not taken a mate for herself yet in this Time, feeling the pull of duty to strong to pause for children of her own. One day perhaps she would, but now was not the time. She had been glad for during the battle at Nondir she was able to fight with the full fury of Heaven with no fear to life she may be carrying within. She had become a blazing beacon of hope to her allies and one of pure dread to her enemies. No wicked slime of Nondir could dampen her holy light and she made sure they saw, and they feared. Justice came to many that day but one escaped her Judgement, Nogitsune had cowered away from her. Fleeing from her even as she called out his name across the battlefield. She did not trust him to make right his transgressions and earn back his place among the Seraph host and so she kept as close an eye on him as she could.

Her wings fluttered as she flew around the hatchery in her smaller form, assessing eggs and delivering clipboards to Gauge to look over. The stillness of frozen time was not strange to her, one who walked through Time herself, she was as used to seeing life frozen into a portrait as she was seeing it move along unaltered. As they Resumed she watched as Gauge addressed the candidates explaining what was to happen to some of the eggs, how their bonded might be one among them, taken to the future. Zeliniel did not have a bonded during this Time but she had been bonded before and as such could understand the sadness coming from the candidates that they may have to wait even longer before being paired with their bonded. Time for these little ones ran at a much different pace than it did for those like herself.

She readjusted her wings as the Touching began, looking out over the mothers who were being approached for their eggs. None were being taken at this moment but parents were being notified and asked though it was known they would relinquish as Gauge had seen. That did not mean they would be relinquished easily though as many mothers were not happy. One in particular caught her eye, Distress and Horizon. Yes this was their first egg and they had only clutched one. It would be difficult on the parents to give up their first and only egg. Her heart went out to them and she descended toward the agitated mother, the heavenly glow surrounding her would have a calming affect on those around her.

I understand this is your first child Distress and Horizon. I am sure it must be hard to part with it on the cusp of its hatching into this world. Know that it will be safe and returned to you just as it was when it parts from you. The hardship will only fall upon yourselves as the pang of loss, though temporary, shall be unknown to it. I can guarantee the safety of your child in the care of Gauge and the Court of Time.

Kumonryo and her eggs and a still unhappy elf boid (feel free to approach, and if you want a snarky elf, you may badger him too but Kumon would not recommend it)

Time had not gotten easier for the pair. The elf was snappish, unhappy and unwilling to cooperate with even the basic requests. Anyone crossing paths with the elf risked getting snapped at, and fights had even been started. For now, he rested near the nest, in a pile of acquired pillows and blankets as appeasement to his irate mood. Headphone slipped over his ears and music blaring extremely loud to annoy any that approached him. Right now, it wasn’t worth the worried mother to fight with him and she curled around her nest, the time-sleep having not been noticed. She watched as attendants moved from places to places, understanding that her two eggs would have to leave. She crooned sadly, not wanting to relinquish them.

The steam dragon coiled aground her nest, her visage frightening in and of itself. White scales dipped in gold and red trim. Steam rose from vents and dampened the area around her. She would not fight, but that didn’t mean she was very happy about it. And her rider wasn’t the exactly going to comfort his dragon--most likely he didn’t even care. He blamed her for his loss, he blamed himself for not being there for his lost one. He could no longer even stand to hear the name spoken or talk about him. For days after their flee attempt and rescue he had clutched to the other pair of headphones had tried to get back to nondir. Till he stopped. Several weeks later, the headphones had been packed away and anything to remind him of his other half was gone. Mirrors destroyed, Anything Kumonryo didn’t save, was lit a fire. She sighed, keeping an eye on the irate rider. She treated him as if he was everything, and he was, but he couldn’t get over the loss of his brother. He couldn’t truly trust her, avoided what he could, disgruntly worked with her when he must.

It was hard, They had had progress before the graduation event, and then when she had basically forced his hand to make a choice, they had taken two steps back. She didn’t blame him, she couldn’t. The one responsible was her brother, who had stolen her other rider, and she would save him someday. She would bring Karasogai to justice. But now was not the time to think of that. No, she still had to watch over her eggs. Wary, she watched the candidates, knowing that they would need too (At least some of them) Come and touch her eggs. While she wouldn’t chase off any unless otherwise provoked, Kumonryo couldn’t help be anxious. Soon, soon at least one of her eggs would be hatching and deciding the beginning of their path. But until that happened, she would still be anxious.

Rurik To jack and touching both eggs and then looking for Teagan

Rurik smiled, as Jack greeted him politely and he relaxed slightly. After all, one couldn’t judge a book by it’s cover even though where he had to be living, death could wait behind honeyed lips. But they were in Aesulla, and they wouldn’t let anyone here get hurt or really have any true ill will….right? Excitement replaced any fear or nerves as she gave permission to touch one or both of the eggs. Briefly he wished Teagan was here, but she would be here shortly he hoped.

“Thank you kindly, Ma’am” He moved, before the dragon held out the gloves for him. He blinked and shuffled, still awkward around the smaller dragon. He briefly hesitated before accepting them, the small jewel hadn't done anything to him and she seemed friendly. Ah yess, he would probably need them, both eggs being of extremes for their element. He accepted them, and pulled them on, feeling slightly awkward with the oven like mitts over his hands. It made him feel bulkier than he was. Debating which egg, before he decided he would touch both. He didn’t want the other egg to feel left out or anything, so he moved to the ice egg first.

Carefully, he reached out and put his gloved hand on the cold shell. Even through the gloves, he could grasp the temperature. But it was a beautiful egg, and he smiled at it. “I wish you the best of luck little one! We happily await your arrival.” He didn’t spend too long, before moving to the Lava egg and repeated the action with his other hand. “The same to you! Good luck!” Satisfied that he had given each egg the same amount of attention, he moved back to the rider. “Thank you, um, again. Tell Chrono she has beautiful eggs here and I wish her the best.” He passed the message along, while handing back her gloves. “Thank you for this opportunity.” He bowed again, before moving away to allow anyone else to approach. Which left him with another dilemma. He needed to go approach another nest, but this time, it looked like he would be dealing with just the dragons this time. He shook himself, wondering where to go to next. He stood off in the middle of the place, looking lost and slightly overwhelmed.

Perhaps it would be prudent to see if his sister was now in the hatchery. Or maybe just getting here? He didn’t want to get too lost and then not be able to find her again--what if something happened to her again and he wasn’t there like last time? He would be even more guilt-ridden than he had. Now would be the best time to peruse back to the beginning of the hatchery to see if she was there. Perhaps he could scope some nests out that she would like visit. He was pretty sure that he knew which ones might catch her interest. But first, he had to find her.
