Jumping the gun on the Tokyo Game Show, Konami has decided to let the world in on the newest addition to the Suikoden family ahead of time: Suikoden V. The company chose to unveil the game in the pages of Jump magazine.

Suikoden V will take place in the Falna Queendom, which is ruled by Queen Alshtat Falnas. The hero of the story is her son who, after a certain event, gets dragged into the center of the story. The only other character revealed is Rion, bodyguard to the hero. Trained under the best teachers in the land, she is an exceptional swordswoman. Details on the story are still very scarce at the moment, but it has been mentioned that the Suikoden staple, the 108 Stars of Destiny, will once again be present.

Konami will be showing off Suikoden V at the Tokyo Game Show, including a playable demo of the game. Suikoden V will be for the PlayStation 2, and no release date for the game has been announced.

Konami Digital Entertainment America has announced that they will be localizing Suikoden V for North American release. This announcement came during the Tokyo Game Show in Japan, where the game is being displayed in public for the first time.

The story takes place in the country of Falena and revolves around one of the 27 True Runes, the Sun Rune. Players will be tasked to journey throughout the land to find new allies and to gain strength as they try to bring back peace and prosperity to the queendom. The battle system, while not being unveiled further, will allow for six-member battle parties. Other features that were mentioned include numerous sidequests and an advanced homebase system where the players' allies will gather when not in their party. Konami promised additional features but did not elaborate at the time.

I havent even played 4 yet or finish 3. I got so far on 3 then started getting bored. The plot on 3 is lame compared to 2. You gotta love the whole death situation of the sister. And the tragic turning of the friend. Hopefully 5 brings back the sprits i dont know about 4, still gotta play it.

Trinity Story system > Any other suikoden style.

4 was a suckfest of V.O casting blunders, and mismatching, not to mention the main characters running animation looked like he had the shits, and was questing for a honey hut.

so i have lost faith in the series, loved 3, 3 was great, and so was 1, the rest... meh.
75thRanger_<3_IED: Dude...
Enikad: What
75thRanger_<3_IED: Why are you always playing the chick characters.
Enikad: Why do you want to stare at man-butt for 70hours?
75thRanger_<3_IED: touche...
