The plan, as far as I'm aware, was to expand when ready into a large region. We're still pretty fresh as a new region, but I'm sure once we get a few RPs done and out in the open we'll invite a lot of people we want in, :). But in terms of being an open free-for-all region I don't think that was ever on the cards. Anyway, that topic belongs in another thread, not here, :). |

I posted that because Gillenor said, and I quote: "Well no, that's really overcomplicating things and is unneeded. We dont have enough nations and shit wont get done." Referring to the Constitution, and my opinion is that this Constitution should last for a long time, that it should last until we have lots of nations, so my view is that we should write this Constitution as if we already were a big region. |

Oh, my apologies, I don't scroll nearly as much as I should, but it's midnight here, haha. I agree, I think we need balance between the region now but constitutional drafting that covers the future also. |

We are emphasizing recruiting and expanding the region, we should just want to do it the right way. We bring in nations that add value to the region. As long as the nations coming in contribute to the quality of the region, then I personally am fine with enlargement. |

Though I do believe that we should plan for the future, don't forget we can always amend. |

I believe the best way to solve our debates about how the government should work, I have begun to post polls on the key issues. THIS IS NOT TO APPROVE THE CONSTITUTION! This is to decide and implement key points as deemed fit by the majority. I hope this will work out. Some examples of further polls will be: "Should we allow Political Parties?" "Should there be a Senate Number Limit?" and "Should the Constitution be IC or OOC?" Proposed solution to too much Executive Power in the Legislature whilst maintaining the will of Member Nations: Though this would require more nations, we could have a Bicameral Legislature. The Senate and the Chamber of Nations. Senators are elected officials, voted into office by all the nations of the region. The Chamber of Nations, however, would be installed into office much the same way as the Senate is now: by requesting permission to enter. The Senate is the only one that can proposes legislature, though member nations can work with Senators to write a draft, which is debated and approved on the Senate Floor. It then goes to the Chamber Floor, where it is once again debated and amended. Since Chamber members are the populace of the region, the people get their say in the regional government. If approved, it goes straight to the Prime Minister for signage. If vetoed, the Senate can override it, etc. The Senate will elect from itself a leader to oversee them, where the Prime Minister could be the leader of the Chamber, or the Chamber could elect a speaker. Though it would be harder to pass Laws, this ensures the peoples say, plans for the future, and only well-written legislature is proposed and passed. |

I <3 it. I like this new constitution very much. Nothing wrong with it as I see. Edited by Imbrisian: This isn't a chat room, please edit existing posts instead of chaining three, one sentence-long posts. |

The version that I sent to you is much better then this one. Mine promised to make no law regulating or interfering with the internal workings of member nations. |

I've edited the Constitution a lot since the last PDF posting. If you go to the third post on the third page, with the Google Doc link, you can see the more updated one. That goes for both Ghant and Loufe. I really like your proposed "Bill of Rights" altough some things like the griefing and spamming I think should be taken out. I do not disagree with there intent, its jst a Law, and the Constitution is not a place to put laws. Bear with me as I continuely edit. Feel free to post your ideas. *And Ghant, you can edit the Google Doc, don't worry. |

Let's cross off our list what doesn't need to be debated. Does everyone agree with the Preamble, Article I: Name and Affiliation, Article II: Membership Requirements, Article VII Writing Laws, and Article X: Ratification and Implementation? |

Aye. I would like to register my nation's opposition to the principle of an exclusive legislature: it is much better to include all of us as equals instead of creating two tiers of citizenship. Everybody should have a right to suggest changes to laws. |

Wait, does the one proposed by Naybra contain the new Courts, IC and Speaker rules? |

The poll above is only asking should we have a bicameral legislature. It is only one topic, and does not yet include the courts, IC, etc. What I can change is have a Speaker of the Chamber AND Speaker of the Senate, taking out the need for the Prime Minister. This lessens the executive's control over the legislative. |
