Indeed.

May I ask if there is any reason for the delay in formally proposing this, and starting voting?

I apologize, I was really busy with homework yesterday an forgot. The updated draft is below. As it has been a week, I will repost this

Quote:

The final version of the Constitution! Give it a nice look over, and then we're on to a vote. The vote shall begin Monday (October 21) and last until midnight of Friday (October 25), meaning Friday is the last day to vote. Because of its importance, please post your vote with any reasons "For" or "Against" the Constitution. You also have the option to "Abstain." As per Section 11.01, 9 (nine) Senators (which does not include the Ministers, External Nations, or the Prime Minister) are required to ratify this constitution. Thank you.

*Do to Zetaboard's limit of 200KB I can't upload the PDF version. I will upload a Microsoft Office one instead. Once ratified, I will work on making it an actual post, like we do with laws. Thank you for your understanding.

At the end of Article VIII it should say 6.02.

In addition, I must say that I am generally opposed to letting the Executive interfere in the Legislature and letting the PM have a veto on the majority's decision, but I may be in a minority on that!

Otherwise, I shall be happy to vote for this proposal.

We should at the very least focus on ratifying the Constitution as is, and then once it is "official" and on the books, then that would be a good amendment to propose.

It won't last only until this Friday.

Assuming that the omission of 6.02 is a typo, and that this omission has no legal force, the voting will begin now and end at the end of this month or when no vote has been cast for three days, whichever is sooner.

I would like to start by casting a vote FOR.

This is never going to get quorum at this rate.

I am not a fan of quorum on this site. This is because of the number of senators that we have, few of them are active on at least a semi-regular basis. And of those, only a few are active on the off-site forum.

This is why instead of there being quorum to pass legislation, we should have there be a simple majority. Its much more practical.

Maybe this teaches us a lesson. Obviously the Constitution needs to be amended to reflect the two-month term change. We also, as suggested by Libraria and Ausitoria, we need to give more powers to the Ministries and separate them. If not approved by the deadline, we'll simply adapt and start a vote again.

I full agree, and that is why I do not think the Senate should use quorum at all. However, this Constitution needs to be passed by more than half a dozen of us.

On that note, I am extending the voting period for a further three days.

I think we should eliminate the quorum requirement and formalize the two month terms.
