Moving on from discussion for the Flag Creation Act, and extending to cover the general area of national emblems, I hereby move that THE SENATE ASSEMBLED establish forthwith:

The National Emblem Copyright Protection Act

1. No nation shall be permitted to have the same flag, motto, coat of arms, or any other national emblem as another nation in the region, unless:
a) The first nation to adopt the national emblem in question grants the later nation or later nations permission to use such national emblems, and
b) The senate does not decide to require that a different emblem be used for the purpose of differentiation.
2. Should a Senator propose that a nation be required to use a different emblem from another nation, that Senator shall move 'that the Senate requires >insert nation< to adopt a different >insert emblem(s)< within >insert number of< days', supplying a minimum of 6 days notice, and the Senate shall vote in the manner proscribed by other legislation.
3. Should the Senate adopt this position, the nation to be required to use a different emblem shall be informed by the Speaker.
4. The Speaker shall report timely to the Senate when the nation required has adopted a different emblem, or if the nation has failed to change their emblem within the required number of days.

If nobody wants to suggest any modifications, shall we move to voting procedures and set up a poll?

I would think that to be the most prudent choice of action.

I think we should take out the national animal part, because its not like the nation owns it. They just chose it.

Honoured Senators, I would like to re-propose my proposal for vote as it is now, without the national animal part.

I agree. The original FCA was just to have each nation have its own sense of individuality.

Right. Shall we proceed with voting then? Mods, can you add a poll please (or better yet, give Senators the ability to add polls to threads)?
