I'm cool with Arena format. It's going to be intense having to vote somebody out each round, but my hope is to be within the numbers while not appearing to be a threat.
Not standing out, but being friendly enough to have people wanting to keep me around. I hope that will keep me off the voting radar long enough to be able to get stuck in to this game.

Without knowing what the challenges are it's hard to say how much stock I have in my challenge abilities. If it's speed based or Pokemon related :lol I think I'll struggle, otherwise I might do OK although I'm rusty with these boards, I hope I won't need to put it to the test any time soon.

At this point I've only spoken with Wulfric who on first impressions seems fun (and was the first to reach out) and Valerie.

You can always check out the re-runs of the first two PWTs if you want a taster of what kinda level challenges are pitched at.

Good luck old-timer!

Probably. The old dudes always get the boot early in Survivor

My expectations are real low for this game. I've been blessed in my recent few games and have had some good results. The law of averages dictates that a bad result is on the cards.
Given I play themes I'm familiar with (this is NOT one of them) which I find helps me out is another factor going against me.
I don't know how I'll approach this, I told the Professor I doubt I'd be 100% in this, but already the juices are flowing

Another thing that won't work in my favour is that this game was invite only from what I understand, so I don't think I'm playing with dummies ;)

Early impressions to date. I've only spoken with a few, but here goes
Wulfric - seems the social sort who no doubt has worked his way in to the good graces of most.
Valerie - I already have a feeling I'm somebody she's not keen to team up with, I have a feeling she's going to play hard. Nothing stands out, it's just a feeling.
Calem - We're just shooting the shit, but seems happy to be here.

Those three I have no doubt are coming together as an early Day 1 alliance of sorts.

No problem Professor I hope I can fill in well enough.

Thanks Fantina, I'm sure I'll get a clearer picture when these votes start happening.

It looks as though there are a few night owls (in my TZ anyway) in this tribe where I could be missing out on a few things, I don't think I've lost too much ground as of now, but it's something to be mindful of.

A bit of an update leading up to this dream world vote on where I see this group.

Calem - We seem to get along well, making casual conversation and he's hinted at wanting to look after the old guy.
Clemont - I've heard nothing from him today, nothing happening there at all.
Grant - Is being bandied around as the first boot unless he pulls out a charm offensive.
Korinna - Full of energy, but our discussions aren't about the game. At this point she seems like someone beating to her own drum and I'm not sure makes a willing partner.
Olympia - We're slowly building something here. We've gone down the "Who do you like" opener and seem to be on a similar page as far as who we'd like to work with.
Serena - We messaged once and there is nothing useful as of now.
Valerie - My conversations with her are so full of cliches I'm embarrassed, but that's the nature of that relationship. Yesterday I mentioned it seemed like she was looking for her best option and seems to be warming to something today.
Viola - I like speaking to her, when I do, as she seems like a lot of fun. Seems like someone who is driven, which is good if she wants to work with me, not so much if she doesn't.
Wulfric - I like speaking to him, but I have no doubt he is the same way with other players and is probably running things at this point due to getting a head start on the more ambitious players. He gives me the impression we're close, but I'm not sold.

At the moment I'd say I'm closest with Wulfric, Valerie, Calem and Olympia/Viola - if they feel the same way I'm OK with at least 6 players and where I want to be at this point in time. I suspect the first 3 are a trio of sorts and are looking to pad for numbers - I have no doubt alliances to the end have been made right now which is a concern for me if I want to get there.

As for the vote I voted for Viola. I thought of Wulfric initially as having an ally with the power would be nice, and I also thought of Grant given he would exit the game if all went as expected, taking his advantage with him
However I settled on Viola as she threw open the random vote idea and so I'll let her take some of the heat that others were trying to avoid by not declaring their hand and see what comes of it.

From all perspectives it looks like Grant will be the vote tonight and while that supposedly simple vote is in the works people are starting to position themselves for the next few votes.

Wulfric and Calem have indicated an alliance with myself. Valerie is indirectly mentioning it, but within a group as has Olympia. Amongst all that an alliance of Wulfric/Valerie/Olympia/Ramos with Calum/Viola being added to that is a common alliance I am hearing.

Korinna feels on the outs and has suggested we both need to try and recruit more numbers to help our situations.

Nothing much is happenign with myself and Serena and Clemont would be my next vote in to the Arena given my current lack of anything with him.

Wulfric has made a nice observation that there will be a large number of votes in to the Arena so smaller alliances would be more beneficial in the long run - which I'd expect him to have many of and it's something I should work on.

I've also been dropping suggestions about the dream world vote in, on one hand, Viola currently has an advantage over all of us and, on the other, it might be more of a benefit to start voting in allies so any immunity plays don't catch us out and any gossip could spread. The next vote will see how effective those suggestions have been.

As of now it looks like Clemont will be going in to the Arena tonight as most people have not heard much from him the past two days and it looks to be the easier vote.

Jockeying for position is taking place and people are trying to make alliances. An alliance of myself, Calem, Wulfric and Valerie had been taking shape with others being looked at as potential inclusions.
I've been hearing that an alliance of Viola, Olympia, Serena is in motion with them looking at people within my alliance - all but dear old Ramos. :ramos:

I'll try and give a run down from my perspective from who I trust most to who I trust least.

Wulfric - Tells me us old guys must stick together and he's looking out for me first and foremost, but we need to navigate through this carefully. Given his skill with words I have no doubt he is like this with other players also, however he tipped me off on the other alliance approaching which I doubt he would have if he was disingenuine.

Valerie - Surprisingly she is high on my list given how guarded she has been, but she also gives off the impression that she cuts to the chase and what she says she means. She has told me she wants us to work within the alliance - but no words on a pairing - and has also been forthcoming the other alliance when I speculated wildly about something I feel I can trust her.

Calem - A second person who has stated we "watch each others backs". He is good to talk to and came forth today with the idea of a Calem/Wulfric/Ramos trio, I am hinting at my knowledge of the other alliances interest in him, but he has not mentioned it as of yet which I'll be curious to watch in comparison to his pushing for an alliance of 3.

Korrina - Just when I think I'm getting somewhere with her, she goes cold and it goes back to square 1. I think she feels we're both at the bottom and not much help to each other, but she could prove to be critical in the next few votes.

Olympia - We had a few good discussions about the way to approach the dream world vote, but things have dropped off today. Whether that ties in with the alliance talk or her being busy is yet to be known, but I have to assume the former.

Viola - Another who has suggested we watch each others back, but that's one I hold no stock in as it's more a ready made excuse for each other when shit hits the fan  I get fleeting messages from her, while I hear wonderous things about how social she is. I am suspecting I'm not one she has in her interests.

Serena - We've talked more today where she's been upset at being bandied around for this vote, I felt she was accussing more than speculating and I mentioned that I've told people I hadn't heard much from her, but I haven't heard vote talk. She seems like a powder keg so I'm not expecting her to receive that news well. She has also dropped the number of posts as a qualifier for voting people and I don't have a lot in comparison.

Clemont - I've forgotten he is here.

Clay - Has not returned my PM while he is in the Arena, so I don't think I can factor him in.

The next 24 hours will be quite interesting at Kalos.

I have chosen to vote for Clay over Clemont.

It's shitty for Clay having just come from the Arena - truth be told if everybody was legit about voting for Clemont I can't see many late changes - but the fact that he returned to Kalos and I haven't heard from him is unsettling and I don't want that uncertainty around.

I'm certain the winner of this game isn't typing this entry. I've gone in with an old man approach and it's probably been put in the "boring" basket which wouldn't be the first time that's been levelled at me.

Given this tribe has a lot more fun type characters I'm sure they've gravitated towards themselves leaving me in a minority despite the assurances I've been receiving. Given a surprising dream world result and what seems to be an imbalance in returned messages compared to online statuses has me thinking I'm going to the arena sooner than later.

I've hinted at other alliance and my poor standing in the tribe and I'll see where that's at. I don't have the fight in me at the moment to get more confronting then have to ride the fallout of that.

I don't know whether it's due to a Sunday deadline or that I'm on the chopping block, but I would have expected more than one message in my inbox since the conclusion of tribal.
I will give it time.

I'm debating whether to, rather than storing what I know, just to pass on what I'm hearing to everybody. I'm sure it will lead to "Ramos starting shit, let's get him out" but it might mix things up a bit if I'm going to the arena soon.

I will wait to see what others say, or don't say, about this vote and decide from that.
