Gracie arrived in Sandgem Town and left the bus station in search of the laboratory. Her stomach was completely filled with butterflies from her excitement and the closer she got to the lab, the stronger the flutters became.

When she finally found the lab, she took a deep breath before entering. "Hello Professor," she greeted. "I'm here for my first Pokemon." She listened as each of the starters was explained. None of them really caught her eye, but then her ears perked when she was told about the "Pokemon Lottery." Now that sounded fun. Generally, Gracie didn't have the best luck, but the opportunity was too great to pass up. She imagined herself receiving a young Lugia and after that she was sold.

"I'd like to try the lottery, please," she said. "I understand the risks involved with it and am prepared to take whatever I get."

She picked up the random Pokeball and threw it, releasing the mystery Pokemon inside.

Professor Yew nodded her consent when the young trainer decided she wanted to try the Pokemon Lottery. "As long as you understand that even I do not know what these Pokeballs hold," she said.

As the Pokemon popped out, the Professor smiled. "Not a bad choice," she said, glad that the trainer got a Pokemon that wouldn't be too much trouble to train.
